It felt like a home stay. The beds were very comfy and the bathroom was very clean and the shower was incredible. The views were amazing from the balcony. Very friendly staff and the breakfast was delicious.

The pigeons and dogs were a bit noisy - but not the hostels fault

We absolutely loved our stay here. The homestay is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the views are simply wonderful. But what made our stay really special was the warmth and kindness of the hosts. We were travelling with an infant, and they were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They happily allowed us to use the kitchen whenever we needed to prepare food for our little one. When we asked for help with preparing fruit puree, they even helped us with that. These may seem like small things, but when you're travelling with a baby, such thoughtful gestures mean so much. The breakfast was another highlight. Everything was delicious, and we especially loved the local crepes — absolutely yummilicious! More than anything, we loved how comfortable and at home we felt here. It didn't feel like we were staying at a hotel; it genuinely felt like we were staying in someone's warm and welcoming home. We would definitely love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, home-like experience with beautiful views and truly caring hosts.

Het uitzicht was mooi. Personeel vriendelijk. Ontbijt was wel lekker.

Kamer was erg vies, kregen wel schone lakens maar meerdere waren vies. De badkamer was ook vies. Veel (dode) beesten op het plafond/de muren omdat het raampje in de badkamer niet dicht kon. De douche duurde +- 7 minuten om warm te worden en de douchestraal was te zacht om mn haren te kunnen wassen.

We loved our stay at travellers nest. The people were so friendly and accommodating, we felt welcome from the minute we arrived. Breakfast and dinner were great, lovely views from the balcony.

Our room had a slight damp smell to it. The towels could do with replacing. But for the price and with the lovely service considered these were not a big problem.

Il clima di Nuwara Eliya è veramente freddo rispetto al resto dello Sri Lanka, quindi capisco che la stanza fredda. Il vero problema è che le lenzuola erano completamente bagnate e le salviette sporche. Il pavimento era tenuto insieme dallo scotch. Le foto non sono reali.

Personnel (nous avons récupéré notre chambre tôt le matin), repas pris au dîner excellent, literie, eau chaude, belle vue depuis la salle de repas.

Gros problème d’humidité (odeur) dans notre chambre sûrement dû au fait qu’il n’y ait pas de fenêtre/lumière naturelle.

Mi dispiace che la struttura non sia all’altezza, almeno per me ,di poterci passare più di una notte. Abbiamo prenotato qui perché di passaggio. La camera era in ordine ma le mura hanno la muffa e le lenzuola sicuramente pulite erano completamente bagnate per via dell’umidità.

Sur les hauteurs de Nuwara Eliya, c’est paisible. Le salon est également agréable pour se poser après les visites. Les hôtes sont arrangeants et agréables.

La cena y el desayuno fueron espectaculares. El personal muy amable y la habitación era amplia.

Struttura immersa nella natura e fuori dal centro, ma facilmente raggiungibile in tuk tuk. Personale molto gentile, disponibile e attento alle esigenze degli ospiti. Colazione e cena molto buone.

Forte odore di fogna proveniente dal bagno, che è stato l’unico vero inconveniente del soggiorno.

De eigenaren waren heel aardig en zeer behulpzaam. De zonen hebben ons helemaal naar Kandy gebracht. Warm aanbevolen!

Logement assez froid et humide. Il aurait été préférable que les draps soient mis à la derniere minute pour ne pas sentir l'humidité et que la chambre soit bien aérée avant notre arrivée. Serviettes de toilettes qui sentaient aussi l'humidité...

Considerando gli standard del sud est asiatico e il prezzo abbastanza medio per la zona, il soggiono è stato pessimo. Per inziare su Booking vengono indicate caratteristiche non corrispondenti alla realtà: Asciugacapelli: inesistente, pavimento in piastrelle/marmo: in realtà plastica e scotch,tutto distrutto, prodotti da bagno “in omaggio”: una saponetta di 1 cm², del tutto insufficiente. Inoltre, non vengono menzionati aspetti critici: freddo senza alcun riscaldamento, umidità eccessiva: A) dopo 2hr nella stanza gli zaini erano già bagnati, B) lenzuola molli e appiccicose, C)odore costante di muffa, D)muffa persino nel “kit tè” (vedi foto).

La ubicación era espectacular en la montaña y el personal super amable. El mejor desayuno de todos los hoteles.

Fußböden werden mit Klebeband zusammen gehalten, die Zimmer und auch Bettwäsche total feucht und klamm, dass es muffelte und die Wände schimmelig wirkten.

Really lovely hosts and fresh tasty breakfast. Breakfast room had lovely views.

Mooie homestay iets boven Nuwara Eliya. Mooie, eenvoudige kamers. Prachtig uitzicht vanuit het restaurant/ontbijt gedeelte bovenin, waar we ontvangen werden met een pot verse Ceylon thee. De eigenaresse en haar zoon doen alles om je een goed verblijf te bezorgen. Op ons verzoek bereidden ze een avondmaaltijd. Eenvoudig en erg lekker. Later op de avond staken ze zelfs een vuurtje aan in het huiskamer gedeelte op de bovenste verdieping, omdat het wat frisser werd. Een leuke ervaring in het elders zo warme Sri Lanka.

This is a clean family run guesthouse, that offers excellent attentive service from all the family and authentic home cooked food. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful and does their utmost to make the stay comfortable.

Habitación espaciosa y limpia. Con nevera, aire acondicionado y cama cómoda. A pesar de su entorno natural, no hay insectos ni bichos en la habitación. La piscina es estupenda. Lugar bonito. El desayuno està bien, abundante y cambian a diario algunos alimentos.

El precio del alquiler de motos es elevado comparado con el resto del país y zonas turísticas. Es el màs caro que hemos pagado y nos dieron la moto en reserva, estando la gasolinera a unos 20 min. La humedad del baño, al tener ventanas abiertas al exterior, entra una humedad y un calor tremendo.

Nos gustó mucho la familia que lo regentaba. Muy amables y atentos. Las habitaciones y el baño bastante grandes y limpios. Lo recomiendo sin duda.

Leuke plek op wandelafstand van het centrum. Erg behulpzame familie vooral de moeder en de zoon Yuka. Ze hielpen ons met de organisatie van verschillende activiteiten (bezoek Hortons plains, theefabriek, waterfallen, …) en zelfs met het doktersbezoek van onze kinderen. S’avonds werd de open haard aangestoken wat het nog gezelliger maakte. Lekker ontbijt.

Frühstück Box für frühe Abreise vorbereitet. Kaffee und Kekse zur Begrüßung. Schöne Aussicht vom Aufenthaltsraum. Kamin abends . Fussläufig zur Stadt.

Fußbodenbelag mit Klebeband geflickt. Deluxe Zimmer mit Blick auf das 50cm entfernte Nachbarhaus. Hunde die abends ständig anschlagen. Kein driver room. Dusche direkt hinter der badtür ohne duschvorhang. Abfluss des Wassers hinter dem WC, wodurch das Duschwasser das komplette Bad unter Wasser setzt.

Przemiły, bardzo pomocny i elastyczny personel. Mimo późnego przyjazdu i wyjazdu o 5.00 zostaliśmy bardzo ciepło przyjęci i zaopiekowani oraz dostaliśmy bardzo smaczne i ładnie zapakowane lunch boxy.

Doordat de kamers geen verwarming hadden en dus nooit opgewarmd worden rook het wel wat muf.

Het hotel was super gezellig met een mooi uitzicht, zeker als je de kamer op het tweede verdiep hebt met balkon. De kamer is rustig maar dicht bij het centrum als je de shortcut neemt. De vrouw was super vriendelijk en haar zonen kunnen je overal naartoe brengen met hun auto en staan altijd klaar om vragen te beantwoorden. Het ontbijt was zeker in orde. Ik raad dit zeker aan om te verblijven! Super bedankt!

Schitterende locatie met mooi uitzicht. Ruime kamers met goede douche. Heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt en als je wil avondeten.

Sommige onderdelen (vloer, handdoeken) zijn wat oud en zouden een update mogen krijgen.

Super lief ontvangen en fijn verblijf gehad. We kregen een lekker kopje thee bij binnenkomst en konden er savonds eten als we dat wouden. We kozen ervoor om de stad te eten waar ze een goede aanbeveling voor hadden.

Beaucoup de bruits le soir et la nuit, même éloigné de la ville. C'est dommage.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Abendessen wurde frisch für uns zubereitet. Es schmeckte, wie von Mama gekocht. Ein Traum ! Morgens wurden wir mit einem wunderschönen Blick über nuwara Eliya belohnt mit einem leckeren Frühstück. Der Sohn sowie auch die Frau des Hauses sprechen sehr gutes Englisch und sind sehr hilfsbereit.

No tiene calefacción y hace mucho frío en esa zona. Tuvimos que dormir con tres mantas, y gracias a que la habitación tenía tres camas y pudimos coger las sábanas de la tercera porque solo con dos mantas no era suficiente para evitar el frío

The beds were large. It is a hotel run by two very nice boys and their beautiful mother. The boys were too nice, friendly, helpful, and humble. They carry my luggage (the heaviest one) in their own hands. The hotel. It doesn't have a lift, the room We're upstairs. I’m honored by the help of the boys.

The staff was very helpful and very accommodating for our requests. We reached much later than our check in time and dinner ordering time was also over but they made fresh soup for us that we all enjoyed. They were friendly and both Lakmini and Rukshan were great hosts.

It was cold in the night, we did have blankets but maybe portable heaters are a good investment. 😀

The views from the balcony were amazing! The hosts were very friendly and provided us with recommendations for food and visits in the area. The room was clean and we felt more than welcome there. They also dropped us off at the trainstation, which was a very nice thing to do.

The bathroom got quite wet after showering, a sweeper would help. It can also be quite cold in Nuwarah Eliya in general, so be prepared for that!

The location was excellent, the view was wonderful, and the staff was exceptionally cooperative.

The family who looked after us here were so lovely and made sure we were comfortable and happy. The views are beautiful and not far from the town at all!

Ubytování má nádherný výhled a je provozováno moc milou rodinou, dokonce nám připravili balíček jídla s sebou, když jsme brzy ráno vyráželi do Horton Plains. V ubytování skvěle vaří, rozhodně doporučuji zkusit jejich kari s rýži.

Vybavení v ubytování už zažilo lepší časy, za tu cenu bych přeci jenom čekala trochu víc.

The family was amazing and the vibe was really good. They've built it up very good. They maintain the rooms like they would in a luxury hotel.

Homemade food, amazing family

Great communication with Ruka prior to our arrival - he speaks, and writes, excellent English. We had to change our dates due to illness and he was extremely helpful and understanding with all of this. Comfortable accommodation with lovely views. Delicious breakfast included, and dinner available with a couple of hours notice. Location is high up on a hill but easy to get tuk tuks if required. Ruka and his family are exceptionally warm and welcoming and eager to help you with any aspect of your stay. He had originally arranged for us to take the train to Ella and return by car; however my daughter was not well enough so instead he took us on a 4 hour drive to the west of the town with amazing views of waterfalls and tea plantations - just so beautiful and relaxing! He also arranged our onward travel (car and driver) to Kandy with a couple of stops en route. We really appreciated his friendliness and flexibility, and highly recommend staying at Travellers Rest.

Wifi was patchy on the top (2nd) floor but fine on ground and first floors, both of which have comfortable sitting areas.

Stayed here one night only with my kids (8 & 11), what a nice, calm place! We loved the view, friendliness of the staff and brealkfast was generous! It's a family business and they were all very nice & kind to us. Great value for money!

The view from the balcony and dining area was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was healthy, delicious, and the portion sizes were great. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was very clean. I also really appreciated that they provided double blankets.

the balcony was not private, so I had to share it with another room. The room also needs more charging sockets. None of my chargers fit into the wall sockets properly, so I actually had to charge my phone in the washroom. 😑
