Het prachtige huis, de geweldige omgeving. We zijn heel goed ontvangen door Madu. Hij is heel behulpzaam, heeft veel tips en kan alles voor je regelen. Het huis is super schoon en de kamers heel comfortabel. Je kunt er zelf koken en alles is op loopafstand of met korte Tuktuk rit te bereiken.

Die Unterkunft ist ruhig gelegen am Waldrand, was ich persönlich sehr schön fand. Man kann aber einfach und für kleines Geld mit dem Tuktuk in die Stadt fahren. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und der Gastgeber Madu äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Nur der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war sehr schwach. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war top. Würde nächstes Mal wieder kommen!

Nice place. Very clean and in a nice location with well equipped kitchen and lots of shared living space. Walking distance to town but worth getting a tuk tuk when you arrive with luggage as it’s up the hill. Madusanka was a very nice and helpful host. He recommended places to eat and helped arrange transport for us at a competitive rate. We would stay again if we returned to Nuwara Eliya.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and caring, with great communication. We had to change our travel plans mid trip and they made sure the changes to our vacation was effortless and genuinely enjoyable. We would definitely recommend!

The hotel is in a gorgeous house at the top of the hill with views all around. The room was very clean, warm and cozy. The bathroom was large and the bed comfy! I loved the common areas, there is about 4 different places to sit with chairs, sofas and tables with a view. You can also use the kitchen and Madu did some light washing for us. He was an amazing host, had some great chats, helped us with advice on what to do in Nuwara Eliya and made sure we had a heater etc in the room. He stays in the hotel full time to help out whenever you need and on WhatsApp but you definitely have your own space. It is only 5 minutes to town and Pickme works great otherwise. Lots of stuff to do in N.E and the weather is nice and cool.

The hill up to the hostel is steep to walk up, but only 5 minutes. We were fine walking up and down but if not tuk tuk is readily available.

Комната и дом очень понравились. Останавливались на неделю с ребёнком, было достаточно удобно. Можно было найти вариант более приватный, отдельную квартиру, но хотелось красивый интересный реальный дом с видом, а не просто апартаменты. Большой плюс жилья- есть обогреватель, фен, горячая вода) Можно пользоваться кухней, все оборудование есть, чего не хватало было несложно исправить. Не работал холодильник.. но и без него продукты не портились, температура в кухне и холлах позволяла оставлять их на столе) Стиральная машинка это отдельный раритетный "аттракцион")), нужно отдельно стирать, сливать воду и отжимать, в общем если очень нужно можно постирать. Температура в доме, по ощущением, где-то +16 С° утром и вечером, одежда теплая для дома точно нужна, это везде так. Очень милый и шустрый менеджер, спасибо ему за участие))

Most beautiful house I stayed in all over Sri Lanka. Its very clean, smells good and has everything you need and beyond. Madusanka, is a friendly host, who helped us with everything. 10/10 would recommend this.

Jetskey is echt fantastisch, stuurde ons zelfs nog een appje na uitcheck om te vragen of we veilig waren aangekomen. Sfeervolle accommodatie en gewoon netjes.

Water in de douche liep eigenlijk niet weg, binnen paar minuten stond hele badkamervloer blank. En er wordt geen ontbijt aangeboden, voor ons geen probleem maar wel iets om rekening mee te houden.

It is located outside the confusion (very quiet) of the centre but still near 5 min by tuk tuk or 15 walking. Although to be honest I did only twice because it is uphill.. It is a british style house covered with wood everywhere which makes it warm and welcoming. Then there is Madu who is taking care of everything and of you. He is always available to give advices about excursions, transfers, exchange, restaurants.. I followed what he suggested to me and it was perfect! He even made my laundry for free. And because the only problem is that there is no breakfast he arranged me every morning a cup of coffee and he was waking up to prepare it for me. Then last but not least the toilettes are completely new, so this is the first place where the shower was really hot and wigh a strong pressure.

整个房子设计得很温馨，设施也很齐全。厨房非常大，很适合自己做饭。淋浴的水很大，而且很热。有真正的被子，晚上也能住得很舒服。虽然离镇中心有些距离，但步行10分钟左右就有一家超市，也很方便。

We stayed here for two nights. The room, beds, and shower were very comfortable. Our host Madusanka was very friendly and they helped us with our laundry. There are several nice restaurants nearby. Highly recommend.

the location has a great layout with wooden ground and great view outside. It is really suspicious place. I wish they would provide breakfast as well. For short term stay, it is ideal.

What a fantastic stay. It's such a peaceful, beautiful house close enough to town but also feels like a quiet mountain retreat. The best thing for us was the staff. Specifically Charlie he was so kind and helpful!

Alles! Die Villa ist wirklich unfassbar groß und sehr ansprechend eingerichtet. Die Zimmer haben ebenfalls alles was man braucht und der housekeeper war sehr nett und hat sich um alles (Transport, Wäsche etc.) gekümmert. Nach Nuwara Eliya sind wir relativ einfach per Tuktuk gekommen und die ruhige Lage auf den Berg hat uns sehr gut gefallen. 100% Empfehlung.

L’hôtel est magnifique, on a l’impression d’être un peu en Angleterre avec l’esprit coloniale. Le propriétaire est très gentil et de bon conseil. Il nous a offert le thé à notre arrivé. Il est dans les collines et éloigner du centre ce qui est agréable pour le bruit

掲載写真より実際の方が数段素敵でした。1泊しかしなかったのですが、もう少し長く滞在すれば良かったと思うほど、素敵な宿でした。到着直前に怪我をし、その状態でチェックインしたので、ホストがチェックアウト後もずっと気にかけてくれ、とてもありがたかったです。ひとりで使うには広すぎるくらいの部屋で、館内のインテリアもとても素敵でした。

Even though we didn’t spend much time in Nuwara Eliya, we really enjoyed our stay at Madusanka’s homestay. The place was very clean and comfortable, and we felt at home. Madusanka was very kind and helpful, always polite and friendly, and he made sure everything we needed was taken care of. He even arranged a car for our journey the next day, which helped us a lot. We wish we could have stayed longer. If we come back again, we will definitely book this place without thinking twice✨

Staying here felt like visiting a close friend rather than just booking accommodation. Madu’s warmth and kindness made our trip unforgettable. The villa was beautifully maintained, and when the evenings got cold, he immediately brought us a heater to keep us comfortable. He was always there to answer any questions and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. His recommendations for places to visit were spot on – each one turned out to be 10/10. It’s rare to meet a host who puts so much heart into everything, and we’re so grateful for the experience.

Everything was perfect! Can only recommend. We had a lovely stay. (And if you're afraid that it will be too cold, there were heaters available. We didn't need it tho.)

We had a wonderful stay at Magnolia Hideout. The villa is super beautiful, surrounded by nature with a refreshing cold climate that made the atmosphere so peaceful and relaxing. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Special thanks to Madusanka, who was extremely helpful and ensured all our needs were fulfilled. A perfect getaway spot! 🌿✨

Etwas außerhalb direkt am Wald gelegen. Man kann aber in die Stadt laufen. Housekeeper Madu sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Keine Möglichkeit ein Frühstück zu bekommen. Man kann aber die komplett ausgestattete Küche mitbenutzen.

L’hôte est extrêmement serviable et accueillant, mille merci à lui !! On se sent tout de suite comme à la maison dans cette superbe maison coloniale. Nous pouvons utiliser la cuisine pour préparer nos repas ce qui est un gros plus !

Nous n’avons pas eu d’eau chaude le deuxième soir alors qu’il faisait 14ºC dehors, probablement que le ballon d’eau chaude était vide, n’étant pas assez conséquent pour tous les clients de l’hôtel. L’eau chaude est revenue au matin !

Ein sehr gemütliches Haus, in dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt – auch wenn es etwas kühl war. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht, stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich würde die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Deze locatie is uitermate geschikt voor een tussenstop in het koudere Nuwara Elija. Lekker dekbedje, prima bed, ruime kamer, warme douche en heel behulpzame gastheer Madusanka. Onze driver vond het laatste stukje oprit wat bumpy en onze gastheer kwam aanrennen voor de tassen. En het huis is echt prachtig!

Nadu is very welcoming.

Its building and decor is so lovely! Charlie is amazing and very attentive. A short 10-15 min walk into town.

It gets a bit cold at night, however we’d read this in the reviews prior so asked for a heater for the one night we stayed. The only downside of the room we stayed in was the bathroom flooded post shower. I’m sure that is very fixable.

Groot mooi huis met enkele slaapkamers en ruimtes waar je wat kan lezen en keuken waar je iets kan zelf koken. Zelf hebben we niet terplekke gekookt, maar je kan op 15m wandelen superlekker gaan ontbijten bij Café Noshers. Ook restaurant Themperadu voor lunch of diner viel juist voorbij centrum bij ons gezin in de smaak. Centrum is vlot te voet bereikbaar, naar beneden gaat het vlot, op de terugweg is het kort klimmen.

Hou er rekening mee dat het in Nuwara Eliya regenachtig en koud kan zijn. Net zoals vele andere homestays is er geen verwarming, maar wij hadden een lekker warm donsdeken.

La casa esta chula, muy limpia, tal como aparece en las fotos. El colchón es cómodo y la habitación amplia. Puedes dejar tu tuktuk justo a la entrada, en una rampa. Cuenta con un par o tres de salas con buenas vistas. Lavabo limpio, amplisimo.

Hemos estado en un dia lluvioso, 15 grados.. en la habitación hacia un frio de narices, lo que resulta muy incomodo … nada de ropa de abrigo para la cama. El lavabo muy amplio pero a falta de calor esta el suelo mojado toda la noche (la ducha suele no tener plato en estos sitios) con lo que tenias que entrar con xanclas, unicamente esta equipado por una pastilla de jabon.Al personal apenas lo vimos, casi que tuvimos que hacer ruido a las 07:15 para que apareciera y poder pagarle. nada para desayunar, no recuerdo si lo tenia incluido… pero da igual, cuenta con una cocina pero nadie nos explico si podiamos hacer uso. Tampoco esperes un aparato de aire acondicionado….

The rooms were light and spacious and the host was friendly and helpful.

It's a little far to walk into the centre from here, especially at night, and there were a couple of small maintenance issues in the room I highlighted to the host, but I have no doubt they will be swiftly resolved.

Great Stay with Excellent Service! Magnolia Hideout Villa is a clean, hygienic, and beautifully located place in Nuwara Eliya. The surroundings are peaceful, and the service was outstanding—especially Mr. Jetskey, who was very kind and helpful.

Only downside is the parking setup: if your car is parked in front, you may need to wake up other guests if they’ve parked behind you.

Very beautiful house and room. There are couches you can read a book on on a rainy day. Was very clean and Bothroom was nice and modern. Very nice hot shower. Host even offered to clean our dishes for us and offered an umbrella. There is a communal kitchen you can use, microwave but no stove. Good to store things in the fridge and have breakfast. Very quiet at night.

It was very cold in the room, which also means there is problems with humidity. We got an extra blanket when we asked but i think there should be heaters in the rooms. Blankets smelled very strongly like sweat. Have to keep in mind that this accomodation is on a very steep hill

It’s a beautiful property split across 3 levels into the hillside. You enter into a living area with a raised platform up to the dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped compared to most kitchens in Sri Lanka that we have experienced. On the next level you have another living area and on the top level you have the bedrooms for the guests. Madu who oversees the property is attentive and responsive to client’s needs. Madu organised a great day trip to Bluefield tea factory and nearby waterfalls, highly recommended. The beds are comfortable, the place is very quiet and as per other reviews, the shower is great and never did it run low on hot water!

Nuwara Eliya can be cold particularly at nighttime. The owner should simply supply heaters for everybody rather than for clients to have a cold night before asking if a heater can be supplied (see photo of heater every room should have). Lesson learned if there isn’t a heater in your room ask for one. Madu will happily supply one. The property belonged to an engineer now passed away and managed by the family as a guest house. You get the feeling the property was left pretty much as he left it., sadly a little bit more maintenance would bring the property to life a bit more, examples being broken furniture, see photo. Not sure of the appropriateness of a replica AK47 on display,…see photo.

It was a bit cold and humid.

The house was very cozy. We could eat take away food in the living area. The staff were very friendly. As the weather was quite chilly compared to the other area, we got an electric heater. Despite of no breakfast, we got food in a supermarket, so absolutely no problem. Shower was quite warm, too. The price was quite economical. I felt like staying in the UK.

Una mansión - Hotel espectacular, arriba de todo de Nuwara pero a 5 minutos del centro en tuk tuk. La habitación muy amplia y limpia y un baño con una ducha espectacular, el servicio muy bueno y atento en todo momento.

The charming home is a true sanctuary, situated in a green hillside yet just an 8-10 minute walk to the little town center & supermarket. The wooden interior of the room is very inviting, and the bathroom is modern and very spacious. Though nights were slightly chilly (a provided heater kept us cozy). The neat and well-organised kitchen, bright living room, and tranquil reading room were incredibly convenient. Magnolia Hideout truly became our peaceful retreat after two weeks of hectic travelling in Sri Lanka. Thank you Madu for keeping the place so wonderfully heartwarming!

Felt like we were visiting a friend’s home. Great kitchen which we were allowed to use. Room was larger than most & the bathroom was splendid. Best hot shower we had during our Sri Lanka stay. Excellent wifi.

The House was beautiful and the room was cozy and welcoming. Madu was so friendly and helped organise a wonderful tour for us. The weather was not the best but we had a lovely stay despite this. The shower was incredible!

The only thing I’d recommend is something to dry the bathroom floor. It was cooler and wet during our stay and the floor tiles in the bathroom did not dry after we showered. So would have been nice to dry this, but that’s a small thing that didn’t impact our enjoyment.

Amazing location - just a 10 minute walk from the main city. The property has colonial vibes. Room was clean and tidy. The caretaker is very helpful and takes care of all the things. He even arranged the Tuk Tuk for local sightseeing. Perfect stay for the price.

La casa es muy bonita, bien cuidada y limpia. Además, puedes usar la cocina si prefieres no salir. La ubicación es tranquila, lo que garantiza un ambiente sin ruidos de la ciudad.

La cama doble era algo pequeña y hacía frío en la habitación (Nuwara Eliya no es cálido). Está alejado del centro, por lo que es mejor tener una moto o tuk tuk. El precio es algo elevado en comparación con otros lugares de Sri Lanka, especialmente porque aquí no se necesita (ni hay) aire acondicionado ni ventilador que es uno de los mayores gastos. El anfitrión era atento, pero algo invasivo; a veces era difícil salir de la habitación sin que apareciera. Hubiera sido ideal un poco más de privacidad.

Magnolia Hideout was a fantastic place to stay. The location is peaceful (although up a steep hill) and the host is extremely helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The house is like a home, where you can relax, as well as cook your own food and do your laundry. So glad we found this place.
