Quiet and welcoming. Lovely decor and exceptionally helpful team Great food at sister hotel few doors down
If catching an early ferry, it’s not possible to get a taxi pre 7 ( despite the hotel teams best efforts) so it’s a 15 minute walk to the terminal but quite doable
The attention to detail High quality service The staff is amazing
Can’t think of anything
Beautiful, quaint and quiet! Must stay here if you visit Oban. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly upon check in and were dazzled by our gorgous room with endless amenities. A noise machine, make up mirror, robes, ironing board and iron, radio, tv, fan- You can head down for a drink in their bar. Breakfast was delicious and the options were amazing. We were only here for one night but other guests were gushing over the dinner the previous night. What a wonderful place!
everything was perfect! no improvements necessary!
Beautiful property and the duplex apartment we stayed in was perfect
Location , super kind staff, super breakfast !

Pricey
Molto belle e pulito. Ottima la colazione
Unica pecca la mancanza dell’ascensore
Decor, ambience, location, staff. Great views.
Nothing
The food is excellent especially the chief’s tasting table, for the quality you would struggle to find in a top London restaurant.
The weather
liked the touch of the chef cooking in front of all the guests food was very good, fresh and a good choice
nothing
Scottish theme
Nothing really
Highly attentive young staff, attention to detail in the service was appreciated and the chef is exceptional!
Some of the room fit-out was style over substance with impractical room features.
Chilled like going to see family friends at their home everything was effortless
That we didn’t stay longer
Rien
Very attractive common areas and room. Convenient location.
Everything! The location, the decor, the ambience, the breakfast. All fantastic.
Nothing.
What a delightful stay. My wife and I loved the location (easy walking distance to town but far enough to avoid most traffic noise, etc.), views of the water, and the charming interior. The manager/host was very pleasant, and we enjoyed each breakfast.
Fabulous stay with incredibly attentive staff. The little orange juice suprise at our bedroom door in the morning and the chef cooked breakfast in their beautiful kitchen was testament to their attention to detail. Great experience all round.
Nothing😉
What a fantastic hotel. Brilliant service with a glass of fizz on arrival. Fantastic location and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely return and would recommend this hotel for anyone considering a stay in Oban.
We had 2 nights at No 26 and we enjoyed enormously. The room was lovely and ideal for us and our Border Terrier and the public rooms were very tasteful and comfortable. Drinks in the evening looking over the water was a favourite. Finally the welcome and ongoing service from the team was excellent.
My wife and I had a pleasant one night stay while on our way to the Isle of Mull. It had been raining all day when we arrived with stormy seas and strong winds continuing through the night. We were pleasantly received by the hostess and taken to our room, which was very nice, cozy and spacious. The room was a bit chilly so we asked for the heater to be turned on; unfortunately, she could not get the radiator handles to turn and neither could I! She recommended using the space heater, which over a couple hours had the room toasty. NBD. We had a balcony view of the sea but never got to enjoy it due to the storm although the view was very nice. Dinner was at Porcini's at there sister location No.17 The Promenade just two 2 homes down. They were able to accommodate our vegan diets with offerings of delicious soup and pasta. Breakfast at No.26 was decent; the chef tried to make us freshly prepared basic vegan choices, which was much appreciated. Overall, a great stay! Would definitely return in a heartbeat.
Hotel is in an excellent location overlooking the sea. The room was lovely, well equipped and very clean. Staff were lovely and friendly and the service was excellent. Breakfast was superb. Would highly recommend!
The breakfast was superb.....beautiful attention to detail. The hotels location was fantastic with beautiful views and walking distance to oban centre. The decor was gorgeous, cosy and very chic. Staff were superb.
I found our bedroom a little bit small. It's was cosy, beautifully decorated with all you could possibly need.
We have just returned from a 2 night stay in the woodland cottage with our 2 dogs. On arrival the friendly receptionist showed us to the cottage and gave us a few restaurant recommendations that were dog friendly. There were 2 big dog beds and bowls provided with some treats which they absolutely loved. The cottage is fantastic, it has a very cosy homely feel to it. A self catering kitchen with all the utensils, a fridge with a freezer drawer, microwave, oven and 2 ring electric hob. The little bottle of milk and water in the fridge was perfect for arrival with some tea and biscuits. The sitting room and kitchen area are open plan with sliding doors out onto the private patio area which was great for the dogs. The bedroom and shower room were up stairs. The sliding doors in the bedroom were lovely to have open slightly to hear the trees and rain in the evening. The main hotel offers large umbrellas to borrow when out walking which were used 100% of the time. Also there is a fantastic lounge with an honesty bar with some soft drinks and alcoholic choices too. We didn’t use the lounge however it has a beautiful view out across the water to sit and relax and enjoy a drink. A couple of pointers for the hotel to keep in mind, the soap dispenser in the toilet and shower were not full on arrival and after 1 day they were empty. I really liked the layered levels of plants/bushes in the patio area and I get it’s a woodland cottage however some bushes were quite overgrown and needed a tidy up. A brighter outside light would be great as well at the patio area. We would definitely return to the cottage again. We had a very relaxing stay and the dogs loved it too. Fingers crossed for drier brighter weather when we do.
Absolutely wonderful stay. Beautiful room and garden area, ideally located and wonderful breakfast! Really couldn’t ask for anything more!
Everything !
Parkplatz first come, first serve und sehr eng.
Unique accommodation quirky Great location

This place was recommended to us by a colleague; we stayed here as part of our honeymoon and it was lovely. When we arrived we had a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to congratulate us which was very much appreciated. The entire stay felt like they’d put a lot of thought into everything they do, it’s very personal without being overbearing. I would absolutely return.
The little touches - chef cooking breakfast in the same open kitchen - little tray outside your room in the morning a drink of juice and a pastry
Nothing
From arrival to departure the team at No26 could not have done more, been more friendly or more helpful. What a wonderful hotel. The little personal touches make such a difference. Most the best hotel in the world where we have stayed!!!
What a fantastic hotel, they could have done more to make our stay anymore special. From arrival to departure every member of their team was exceptional. If going to Oban there is only one place to stay. Room 7 had the most amazing sea view!!!
Nothing
We had a lovely two-night stay at No. 26 by the Sea! Our only regret is that we didn't get a chance to stay longer. It is a beautiful place -- exceptionally clean and well-decorated. Our beautiful balcony room was a bit warm, but we were able to open the windows while keeping the curtains closed to block out the light, and the room cooled down quickly with the cool Oban breeze. It's a lovely 10-15-minute walk into the center of town. Parking is available, but a bit tight -- we were thankful for our back-up camera! The service and amenities were also excellent -- they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and welcoming, including offering a complimentary glass of fizz upon our arrival and then allowing us to have it the next evening instead, since that worked better for our schedule. Finally, breakfast was absolutely delicious -- the porridge was a highlight for me. While it is one of the pricier places we stayed, it was well worth it for the views and the hospitality. We highly recommend No. 26 by the Sea!
It's always lovely to stay at No.26. It's spotlessly clean, very comfortable, all staff are genuinely friendly and the breakfast is first class. I've probably stayed in most B&B's along the esplanade over the years and, although there was rarely anything wrong with them, No.26 has definitely raised the bar. An asset to Oban.
This B&B is right on the main street in Oban on the harbor. Lovely view from seaside room. Room was comfortable with modern updated shower. A bit small for 2 people but there was a desk with room to dry hair and do make-up. Clean, quiet. Rachel was our host and was extremely customer focused. We spent 2 nights. She requested our breakfast choices and time we would like it. There is an honor bar and large sitting area for an evening cocktail while admiring the harbor view. Breakfast was excellent and the chef prepared everything to perfection! A perfect place to stay and enjoy all Oban has to offer!
Quiet neighboorhood. Good breakfast. Friendly host
Weird noise from a fan or a pump that starts and stops all the time
Lovely boutique hotel in a great location - on the sea front, but a short (15 min) walk into town. Comfy room, superb breakfast and very helpful staff We were sad to leave!
Wonderful boutique hotel in a great location - on the sea front and a short (15 min) walk into town. Very comfortable room, superb breakfast and really welcoming and helpful staff We were sad to leave!
Nothing!
Highly personalised, boutique service and atmosphere whilst retaining a relaxed and dog friendly environment. Nicest welcome with glass of bubbly, small touches of class such as the amazing Gordon Castle shower products, Tea Pigs, morning orange juice and pan au chocolates at the door, dog treats. Sea view a bonus and impeccably clean and comfortable. Morning breakfast was a highlight and a good selection to chose from. Coffee was really tasty and granola a highlight.
Nothing other than a little bit stuffy inside. My fault for not seeing the aircon fan behind the armchair!
A very friendly and personal welcome set the tone for our stay at this super hotel. Unfortunately we could only stay one night rather than the 2 originally panned so will return . A lovely room and great breakfast as well as a good location and great team
Wunderschönes Boutique-B&B mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Etwas abseits vom Zentrum, daher ruhig. Zu Fuss schnell erreichbar. Mega tolles Frühstück.
Gorgeous place with exceptionally friendly hospitality. The location is just a 5 minute walk from the centre and overlooks the ever changing bay. The breakfasts are excellent and we were lucky enough to spend an evening in the bay window of the ‘honesty bar’ room enjoying the views. There are stunning walks from here too, especially to Little Ganavan Beach at sunset.
We stayed in the Woodland Cottage self-catering apartment at the back of the hotel. It was clean and cosy. The kitchen is very small and equipment is fairly minimal but we managed to cook a basic evening meal one night. The staff were delightful and gave us some good recommendations of local activities and places to see. Although we were self-catering we chose to pay for breakfast in the main hotel each day. It was excellent and good value.
We’ve just spent 2 nights here and enjoyed every minute. From the moment we arrived we were made feel very welcome by Carrie and the team, the excellent customer service continued throughout our whole stay. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and are equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent, it was hot, fresh and good quality. We particularly enjoyed the honesty bar looking out to the great views. We cannot rate this place highly enough, we will definitely be back.
This was one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in, hands down. It was so personal, comfortable and convenient. I wish we could have stayed much longer than just one night!
This is a gem of a place- beautifully decorated and a great host The view from the main reception room is to die for, out onto the harbour The little extras in the room were great- fresh milk, iron Honesty bar well stocked Breakfast excellent
our room was quite dark but for some that would be cosy
What a lovely sumptuous B&B. We were greeted with champagne and had a nice sit down with the proprietor. Very welcoming. We enjoyed the honor bar and charcuterie one evening, watching all the boats come back into the harbor! Yum! Our room had a free standing bath big enough for couple, outdoor deck onto a nice walking path. The shower was the best of the trip! Lovely, would highly recommend
Another lovely stay at No. 26 by the Sea! Our second time here, and we brought family with us this time. It is like staying in someone's beautiful, well-decorated home, and they just happen to be a fantastic cook who makes you a beautiful breakfast each morning. Great location walking distance to "town" and the ferry, but apart enough from the hustle and bustle to feel peaceful. This time, we chose the Beach House and it was fantastic for our needs. I'm a bit of an overpacker, and we had a lot of gear bc we were doing a lot of active things in the area. It was lovely to spread out in a full-sized apartment. You enter through a very nice entryway with coat hooks, up a few stairs to a beautiful kitchen, half-bath, and a living room with a patio and a view. Upstairs is a full bath with a great shower (rain showerhead and separate handheld, plus a shampoo, etc. shelf that actually has enough room for all your stuff), a beautiful bedroom looking out over the harbor with floor-to-ceiling windows so you can watch the boats go by from bed, and the absolute best treat: a real closet. As in, the size closet you'd find in a new construction home in the US, complete with nice drawers and shelves. This made life SO much easier!!
Outstanding hospitality in a delightful and comfortable bed and breakfast. One of our best stays in Scotland.
This hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in and is definitely the most dog friendly. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff give you individual attention and our dog was treated like a princess. The hotel is maintained very well and is very clean. The atmosphere is chilled and laid back. Our room was comfortable with amazing views. We loved watching the ferries coming and going. The breakfast menu gave lots of choice and everything was freshly prepared. Our dog was hand fed a sausage for breakfast which she loved. She also loved stopping by reception to get treats. The hotel backs on to a woodland walk and there is access to this through a back entrance.
the great views . the friendly helpful staff and the amazing breakfast
the bathroom with no shelf’s and too many steps
Lovely overnight stay with dog
Fantastic location and welcome. Hotel was so well appointed and beautifully decorated. Fizz on arrival was a nice touch. Breakfast was the best!! Never had smoked salmon and scrambled egg as good!!
This hotel is a real gem of a place. 15 minute easy walk from the train station. The staff are exceptional, welcome and check in was excellent, room very comfortable, cosy and has everything you need. I had the best nights sleep each night and breakfast is restaurant standard and cooked to order, staff are very attentive and their hospitality is second to none. You will not regret choosing this hotel.
Best hotel out of the 9 we stayed at on our trip. Amazing staff, great room, suburb view. Thank you so much to the Team for making our trip special. Would easily take another vacation to Scotland just to stay here!!!
Very cozy, 15mn walk to town and ferry. We had the room with sea view which was amazing. The breakfast is à la carte and very nice. I recommend this place
Nothing
Location attention to details amazing breakfast
Fussy over coffee and toast
Molto curata nell’arredo.
Very peaceful setting. Beautiful, very comfortable, lounge. Our room was small but perfect. Rustic and charming. The views from our window were stunning, even in the rain! Bed was very comfortable. Loved our wake up fresh juice and pastries. Breakfast was beautifully presented and cooked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would have loved No26 to have offered dinner as we are sure it would have been memorable.
Fabulous 2 night stay at this beautiful boutique bed and breakfast. Very comfortable bed large walk in shower in a beautifully decorated bedroom. Nice touch of an early morning croissant and fruit juice left outside your door before heading down to the kitchen for a freshly cooked breakfast! Service 10/10 and location perfect
The location and the view
Integrated toilet did not appeal to us as it was a lack of privacy. Wooden toilet seat unhygienic in this day and age.
Beautifully curated property with gorgeous views
Everything was fabulous
No 26 offered elegant accommodations with special touches as a croissant and juice delivered to our door before the main breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Our room had a balcony with a view of the bay. We were able to park our car in the small lot and walk to dinner and the ferry within 10-15 minutes.
Lovley location and facilities
We had a very nice stay here while in Oben for five nights. Room 4 was comfortable sleeping and we were fortunate enough with the weather to sit out on the deck a couple of evenings. We enjoyed their breakfast offerings and the choice of honor bar. The location was an easy under 15 minute walk to all things - dinner, the ferry, bus and train station.
Lovely stay & weather, our dog loved the fuss and attention she received.
Extraordinary view across the harbour. Great bed (I had the best night's sleep in years) and the breakfast. The chef cooks the breakfast in front of you. The scotch porridge was mighty. I was offered Whiskey on my porridge but went with the berries! Beautiful stay.
Nothing
This place was a great find in Oban! Not a far walk from the center of town and a lovely staff. Breakfast was great and the lounge area was a nice touch to be able to admire the view. Would definitely come back!
Sink in the bathroom was a little small but that was a very minor inconvenience!
Super style and atmosphere. The staff were really personable
It was great
The location was absolutely stunning. The hotel was immaculate, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Overall an amazing stay. Would definitely recommend.
NA
We absolutely loved our stay at No.26 By The Sea and would highly recommend. The entire experience felt incredibly special, and we were gutted to have to leave! The hotel itself was immaculate, with breathtaking views, and we immediately felt welcomed on arrival. The staff went out of their way to help make our stay feel incredibly personal - it really was the perfect escape. We'll definitely be looking to stay again!
Check in and host were wonderful. Breakfast was excellent. The lounge was adorable with games, drinks and love the little dog friendly additions. The fans! White noise machines! Other little things like the delivery of morning OJ and pastries along with milk in fridge put this B&B over the top.
One of the shower doors in one of our two rooms didn’t close all the way and the towel racks were across the room in both rooms.
Geweldig ontbijt

A fantastic couple of days at No26 - staff were very friendly and helpful, lovely room (if a bit warm), and a superb breakfast. The honesty bar worked perfectly and the views from the lounge are stunning. We also had a room with a terrace and was a great place to wind down in the evening sun. Also recommend dinner at the sister hotel (No17 - Porcini).
Most fantastic stay in Oban for 2 days. We could have stayed here for a week or even longer as this unit was absolutely worth every pound we paid. We will definitely recommend this establishment as one of the finest we stayed in on our month long Scotland trip. Well done to the owners and staff. Excellent location near all attractions. Very clean and comfortable.
No 26 by the sea lived up to all the expectations! The rooms and property were well designed and appointed. Breakfast was great. And the hospitality was top tier! Would highly recommend and would stay here again
We spent a two night stay in Woodland Cottage prior to catching a very early Calmac ferry for our island holiday. We received a warm, professional welcome and excellent service during our brief interactions with staff. The bedroom and bathroom were small (we felt rather hemmed in) but clean and well appointed, and the living area sufficient for our needs on this occasion. We consider that the kitchen would be under equipped for a longer self-catering stay. It was lovely to have the quiet courtyard garden at our disposal as an alternative to the sun terrace at the sea front. However, the sea terrace gives interesting views of the marine traffic and is a lovely place to sit in the sun with a cool drink after long distance travel. We partook of the hotel breakfast on the first morning and it was the best hotel breakfast we have ever experienced; beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and almost all items offered gluten free - a rare find indeed!
We stayed in the apartment with a garden view for one night and it was fabulous. We can't recommend it enough. It was very quiet and pleasant. The attention to detail and the design of the apartment was really nice. It is not a large apartment but it is fine for a few nights stay. The apartment has been well maintained and the design is well thought through. Our little dog enjoyed wandering in and out to the patio area and this enclosed area which was very secure. The woodland walk is also a must which is at the back of the property with easy access to the castle. The following morning of our stay we paid for the breakfast at the hotel and this was also really nice. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and all in all it was a fab stay. The town of Oban is about a 10 minutes stroll and we went to a lovely pub for an evening meal which was dog friendly called The Lorne. This is also well worth a visit but you must book in advance as Oban can be very busy.
Location- food- staff
Room was a little small and bathroom too in the room
Excellent large breakfast and a great location
Main TV didn't work
Excellent hotel in great location.
Nothing not to like
We had a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm welcome and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout. The location was perfect and made everything very convenient. We also loved the honesty bar — such a lovely touch and a great place to relax. Highly recommended!
Liked everything, the hotel, decor, staff, our room and the experience at breakfast was fantastic. Made very welcome by everyone at the hotel and would recommend it to everyone.
Nothing.
Very warm and welcoming, Really enjoyed our stay. Next time in Oban will definitely be stay at No 26 by the sea. Breakfast was sensational. Great location as well Cheers
Lovely stay, Everything was really nice and breakfast was superb will definitely be my first choice when staying in Oban.
No issues
Beautiful accommodation . Excellent view. Breakfast was amazing
Bit of a dodgy light sensor in corridor . But only a minor complaint
The welcome and check-in to this property were excellent. Our room was gorgeous and spotless. We had to leave early and were offered a take away breakfast which was a lovely touch. Our dog was also welcomed and treated so well. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Simply outstanding, From the warm welcome to the fond farewell, We stayed in the Forrest cottage and it was simply fabulous. The place was spotless cosy and well equipped! The main hotel lounge area offers fabulous views from a beautiful lounge area. We don’t eat at the hotel as we went self catering but will definitely return and recommend 100%! As regular visitors to Oban I must say this wee gem leaves the rest with a high bar to reach .
Everything! Fabulous hotel!

Great welcome to the hotel. Super breakfast - great to have the chef in the room. Excellent views from our bedroom window. Excellent location, in Oban but peaceful.
