Initially I was kept waiting for ages to get a lunch, as staff couldn't get the app to book me onto empty table in restaurant. There were tables visible, but I wasn't offered the opportunity to just sit down whilst they sorted it out.... more concerned with the computer system than service for customers?

This hotel is a true gem and it felt like I was staying in an old world hotel, the rooms are big and neat and the Scottish theme came through in all the decor, great job guys.

Very little to critique about the hotel, all I can say is that the staff sometimes didn’t understand the basic English requests. But that is really looking for something to critique.

De sfeer is er op achteruit gegaan in vergelijking met de laatste 3 jaar. De nieuwe eigenaar probeert denk ik een goed product te leveren maar voor ons was het een domper. Het personeel in het restaurant werd op fouten gewezen waar de gasten bij zaten. Dat vond ik zeer onprettig en ik denk de persoon zelf ook. De persoonlijke touch is er niet meer. De gemeende vriendelijkheid is weg. Alleen Rona en de dame met het Franse accent waren gemeend vriendelijk. Beiden zijn van de oude garde en dat kon je zien, voelen en horen. Jammer dat het geborgen gevoel dat we hadden de afgelopen jaren er niet meer is. Tenminste niet voor ons.

Room too small.

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in het Cairngorm Hotel. De locatie vonden we fantastisch: midden in het gezellige stadje en een perfecte uitvalsbasis om de prachtige omgeving van Cairngorm te ontdekken. ’s Avonds hebben we prima gegeten in het hotel en een leuke extra was de doedelzakspeler die om zes uur voor het hotel stond te spelen. Dat gaf meteen een echte Schotse sfeer! Ook in het stadje en de omgeving hebben we ons uitstekend vermaakt. Al met al hebben we een heel prettig verblijf gehad en we zouden het Cairngorm Hotel zeker aanbevelen!

Comfortable hotel in the heart of Aviemore Good breakfast

Die Lage ist sehr praktisch - direkt gegenüber vom Bahnhof. Das Personal war sehr nett, unser Zimmer war sauber und schön eingerichtet, das Bett war gemütlich. Für britannische Verhältnisse war das für £90 insgesamt sehr gut.

Ein Föhn auf dem Zimmer wäre gut (vielleicht haben wir nur keinen gefunden?). Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche könnte besser sein. Frühstück war zwar gut, aber zu wenig und es gab kaum vegetarische und vegane Optionen, sowohl auf dem Menü als auch auf dem eher überschaubaren Buffet.

Many stairs to bedrooms due to very high ceilings and no lift. This info wasn’t flagged up on web site. Steps up both entrances and no ramp up either for less able (except wheelchair lift).

We arrived from Inverness and little early, the staff were fabulous letting us us the car park and then giving us local recommendations. Breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked with everything spot on

The location was excellent, literally across the road from the station. Staff on reception and bar were really friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and entertainment in the bar.

The breakfast service was a little slow on the first day (took ages to take our order and another guest walked out because he hadn’t been served ) but very efficient next day.

Loved the decor, the helpful staff, allowing my dog to stay, the comfortable bed, the breakfast options.

Het hotel is gedateerd maar je waant je echt in Schotland. Het hotel is de uitvalsbasis voor het hele dorp, verder is er namelijk niet erg veel. In de bar beneden is veel reuring en je kan er goed eten. De kamers zijn aan de kleine kant en gedateerd, de badkamer al helemaal. Alles functioneerde wel prima.

De kamers zijn klein en gedateerd, mag wel een opfrisbeurt gebruiken. Alles was wel schoon.

The location of the Cairngorms Hotel is ideal, situated on the high street in the heart of Aviemore.

Having become used to a certain standard even from budget providers. The pillows of a poor quality offering little support.

The central location is great. Parking was limited but we managed to get a spot. Room was small (snug) but fine. Lady on reception, bar staff and breakfast staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice too.

We booked the Economy Room rather than Snug Room. Then received an email to say it was above bar with live music until midnight. Spent next 90 mins trying to change it. Man on telephone at hotel was very unhelpful and patronising. His advice was also completely wrong as confirmed by booking.com. The AI maze with booking.com is also ridiculous until you can speak to a human. On arrival we were also blanked by a man on reception (same man?) despite him checking in the previous couple. Very rude. Lady receptionist was lovely.

I'm a disabled able pensioner who has to use a walker to get about my room was 208 second floor had to walk up and down stairs. The staff were very helpful carried my walker a bag upstairs.. Breakfast was great again staff very nice. I know Building is lovely but their must be a way to put a lift at the back of the building so doesn't spoil the building front.

Het ontbijt. Bij het buffet waren de croissants en zoete broodjes om 08.30 op terwijl het ontbijt tot 09.30 duurde. Jeminee alleen nog maar brood roosteren. Dit is gezien de prijs onacceptabel.

The staff were very friendly, rooms were exceptionally clean and our breakfast was lovely.

The hotel itself was lovely & clean but a few areas could be doing with a little fixing up, the bar area was a bit dated with worn seats, and the decor could be doing with a freshen up.

The staff didn’t have a clue and weren’t at all friendly. The drinks at the bar were extortionate. Drinking elsewhere is the only option.

There was a bit of a miscommunication about the location of the room being above the bar, but that got sorted out.

Was put in a “snug” room despite booking a double room. Went to reception to point out their mistake. Showed them my booking. No apologies just given a key to the correct room and was told that’s all they had left

I liked the locality, loved the breakfasts and the kindliness of the staff.

A small fridge in the bedroom to keep water/juice would have been beneficial in the hot weather.

Der var rent og pænt alle steder. Hyggeligt værelse. Restaurant / pub med god atmosfære og lækker mad. Personalet var meget hjælpsomme og gæstfrie. Omgivelserne var fantastiske. Gode muligheder for at hike. Tog og bus med gode forbindelser på den anden side af vejen. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

Het was redelijk kleinschalig en het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer die we hadden was rustig gelegen aan de achterkant.

We hadden een kamer onder het schuine dag en dat is niet fijn als je lang bent.

A huge disappointment—we only stayed for one night, maybe we just had bad luck with our room. It was extremely small, with very old furnishings, an uncomfortable small bed (not for two adults) , you could hear every footstep in the corridor; the floorboards creaked. It was a very bad experience—we would not stay here again.

Room was spacious and the breakfast plenty. The hotel has a lot of character.

No dedicated storage room for luggage pre and after checkout - it's stored under a table in the lounge. Worked out fine, though.

Wow! What a great experience. Great food, great bar, and the hotel is genuinely Scottish! Beds really comfy as well. Special shout out to the young chap/assistant manager who couldn’t do anymore for us if he tried and has a brilliant attitude! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Went in for a meal on sat 1 August. Place went downhill first ordered two half lagers got a Rose wine and pint of lager waited for food got a steak a little bigger than a burger. steak pie £22 was put back chips terrible overpriced food staff not happy new management took the heart out sorry cannot recommend £57 for a soup and sandwich. a little rump steak and 2 lagers 2shandys all half pints

I have stayed here in the past but I travel a lot to Aviemore and what stops me consistently booking is not having an area in the car where I can go sit and eat with my dog.

We arrived late having had trouble with a rental car and needed to take a break as we were so tired. Excellent front desk service, the room was welcome and enjoyed the breakfast. Just wish we could have arrived earlier.

Included full service breakfast. Building was beautiful. Interior decor was also nice.

Zimmer und Gebäude innen leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen und abgewohnt. Der Zustand der Zimmer rechtfertigt leider nicht den Preis der aufgerufen wird.

Die Lage schlägt alles. Das Hotel befindet sich mitten im Ort, alle Geschäfte, Restaurants sind von dort zu Fuß zu erreichen. Man parkt kostenlos vor dem Haus und es gibt auch ausreichend Parkplätze. Das Zimmer (201) ist ok, die Zimmergröße auch, Fenster man öffnen, die Betten sind toll. Die Frühstückskarte entspricht dem klassischen Frühstück einer Schottlandreise. Ist ok. Abendessen war gut. Besonders, wenn man nur 1x dort isst. Der Golfplatz ist einfach zu erreichen (kurze Fahr mit dem Auto)

Das WiFi ist eine absolute Katastrophe. Während im Restaurant guter Empfang vorhanden ist, geht die Signalstärke in der 201 gen Null. Die Dusche funktioniert nur dann gut, wenn (wahrscheinlich....ich weiß es natürlich nicht genau) niemand anders Wasserbedarf hat. Am ersten Tag kam nur ein ganz schmales Rinnsal aus der Dusche. Tag 2 war es abwechselnd fast nichts und dann wieder volle Stärke, Tag 3 war ok. Nach dem 2. Abend wusste ich nicht mehr, was ich zum Abend noch essen könnte (ich wollte weder Burger, Steak noch paniertes Huhn), aber das ist sicher Geschmackssache.

The staff was amazing!! We asked for a fan and they delivered one to our room, which made the heat tolerable! There was a great selection of breakfast entrees and the food was excellent. Location is great, right in the center of town and easy to fine!

They need more parking spots.

Convenient location central to Aviemore opposite train station, local steam preservation railway and close to Rothiemurchise activity centre. Breakfast and Dinner good. Staff pleasant to deal with.

Was allemaal nog het zelfde als 7 jr geleden alleen nieuwe eigenaar en dat was niet in het voordeel van het Hotel en ons verblijf

Vriendelijkheid van de general manager was ver te zoeken. Zeker als je hier voor een langere periode verblijft zou enige vriendelijkheid welkom zijn. Voor het ontbijt moet je een tijd doorgeven de dag ervoor en dan nog moet je ca 25 minuten wachten op je gebakken ei. Als je na 9 uur gaat ontbijten is bijna alles op het buffet leeg. Geen yoghurt kaas en ham en de speciale broodjes ook op. De koffie en thee kreeg of geserveerd of uit een automaat maar die was meer stuk dan in werking. De schoonmaak was met de Franse slag en gaf ons geen goed gevoel. Verder zijn de prijzen in de pub ver omhoog geschoten ruim 7 pond voor een Quiness is nogal aan de prijs verderop betaal je daar gemiddeld 5 pond voor. En accepteren ze hier geen cash meer. Nee een derde keer hier in dit hotel gaat helaas niet meer gebeuren de sfeer van 7 jr geleden was er helemaal uit gehaald door de nieuwe eigenaren.

Although clean, the room was small and the furniture made it feel cramped. Obviously, this is due to the age of the building. However, it was an upgraded room but didn't feel like one. Room 112 looks onto a flat roof. We felt a bit vulnerable leaving the window open at night. Also very warm. Staff worked really hard but there are claerly not enough of them. Often only one person behind the bar serving with one collecting glasses or serving food. This resulted in constant queuing out the door. We felt sorry for the girl behind the bar. To her credit she was warm and welcoming to everyone. Nobody at reception when we arrived. Waited for some time.

Cramming a king-sized bed into an average room made it intolerably crowded

Good old style hotel, but in need of refurbishment; room and all areas looked and felt tired. Location great and beer gardens areas pleasant in a sunny day.

Room was very tired and small for price being paid,but bed very comfortable. Apart from the rude person taking dinner bookings, all staff very keen, but seriously lacking in training and a system, leading to multiple tables, including ours waiting to have orders taken, food delivered and general service levels. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Beautiful property, right in the Cairngorms national park. A cozy room, and above all a wonderful breakfast that really goes above and beyond! We loved staying there. Gorgeous tartan motifs decorating every wall, a truly nice castle feel.

The basic room is a little small perhaps, but since we only stayed one night, that didn’t matter at all. We truly enjoyed staying there.
