Location fantastic bars and venue lovley. Staff very nice
Room 35 was discribed as snug double but it was just very small. 2 flights of stairs and with luggage not good as second flight is narrow and steep Bath room was dangerous unless you were fit and agile. Getting into bath with the shower screen very difficult and getting out worse. Plug did not seal so it was not worth getting into bath in the first place as the water does not stay in bath. No bubble bath not good but in this instance it did not matter as no soaky bath time. Continental breakfast was good but full english eggs were overcooked and so were the tomatoes. Its was just abit bland and i had been looking forward to full english as its part of the treat of staying in a hotel. The WIFi worked but there no internet connection in the room. Staff tried to help but were unable and said would have to wait until morning. We had a wonderfull party and enjoyed our stay its a lovley hotel located on the river but dont book room 35
All meals are very good and served by excellent staff
One of my evening meals was not served hot, it was warm. I should have mentioned this to my server but I didn't.
Excellent food for our evening meal in the restaurant
Small uncomfortable bed...delays at breakfast because of insufficient glasses, plates and bowls
Location on the river was lovely, the beer garden was fab and the atmosphere very nice, Breakfast was fantastic. Car parking was very easy, even with a T5 van.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice restaurant with great food. Good outdoor facilities. Great location.
More hooks near the wash basin in the bathroom would have been nice. Could also do with some more shelving.
Riverside location outside seating
Undertrained staff,poor service, poor food.
It was beautiful
The terrace gardens by the river
Comfortable beds Great food
A little noisy during the night but not a problem
Location and outdoor space was stunning. I realise this is an old hotel so a little damp smelling.
The food was overpriced
Location
Very hot
Nice location along the river and was a peaceful location. The bar was nice with a good selection.
Unable to park onsite on arrival as it was completely full, ended up having to pay additionally for parking elsewhere even though parking was supposedly included in the price. There was a very pungent off-putting floral smell in the corridor outside the room, which did not have air conditioning. On the second morning, we had to wait over an hour for our breakfast as the staff lost the ticket/order which I had to then chase.
Location was great, lovely view from room
Breakfast was disappointing, waited 35 minutes for eggs Benedict. Muffin not toasted , one egg overcooked. Way too much sauce. People arriving a lot after me but getting breakfast same time as me. Hairdryer cord too short for where mirror is
it was just a really nice overnight stay.
location. Short walk to town very nice hotel.
The location and the staff were amazing.
Lovely setting, friendly staff, great breakfast
No elevator
It is in need of an update. Expensive for what we got.
Fantastic location, lovely room considering only standard. Good choice of meals in the evening. Great that the parking was free & we managed to get a space easily.
The breakfast! Although the choice was very good & the ingredients of the cooked breakfast were fine, the actual cooking needs improving. The bacon was very overdone, the mushroom tasteless and the eggs hard (not sure if that was due to the salmonella outbreak but not an issue if eggs bought have the lion mark).
Nice friendly atmosphere- good location.
Parking was ok but not plentiful - out on the road for the 2 nights
Lovely hotel in fantastic setting. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and food was great.
Nothing.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. the room was nice with a lovely view over the river and tables outside on the grass, Breakfast was great. Freshly cooked and not a buffet. We also had lunch their oen day and the food was very good. Not cheap but good quality and an interesting menu.
Nothing. We will definetly stay here again if we come back to Worcester.
Excellent breakfast. Staff very helpful. Very clean and good facilities in public areas.
Room I stayed in was outdated, the position of the shower head in the bathroom very bad.
Our Daughter held her Wedding Reception at the Hotel. Absolutely everything was fantastic. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Stunning views. Beautiful room and friendly staff.
Nothing
Very pleasant atmosphere and quiet and a beautiful location.

Brill stay fantastic stay mom dad loved it..
Fantastic location and fabulous outdoor area
Excellent location by the river with easy access to attractions
Being beside the river was so lovely. There was many areas to sit and relax. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The room was large and traditional, and bed was comfortable and quiet. Quick walk to central city and lovely walks along the river to the canal bakery and lochs.
The windows in our room , when open had kitchen smells galore , so we had to shut them. The staff were super busy and seemed to be stressed. Music was weird - a better playlist would have added to the ambience.
Location was lovely and great breakfast
Very hot day and portable air conditioner in the room broke down twice and the response from the staff to fix it was slower than I would like
good to be back, new owners as we understand, but this has not taken away from the level of service or quality, a great one night stay again
parking is tight
Location and lovely staff

Posizione
Vergognoso.
Incredible view
Nothing
Location, food and staff were excellent.
Room was tiny and difficult to move around in. The furnishings were very tired and dated - the headboard fabric matched the curtains but was very stained where people had rested their head. The first room we were allocated was up in the eves and extremely hot so we requested to move. This was the second room! We felt that whilst the communal areas and outside were lovely and up to date the bedrooms need a serious upgrade!
Great location. Good sized rooms and comfortable
Whilst the food was good the restaurant staff were slow and disinterested. They need to engage with customers, smile and look them in the eye. The need to clear tables rather then leave them when others are still eating. The food ordering system need need to be reviewed because we did not receive ours until a delay of 55 minutes and two chasers. Others walked out before their food came because of the long wait. This experience spoilt our visit . Breakfast was also very slow
The view
Left the property and didn’t stay - got money back. Rooms dirty, shabby , run down
The evening meal was excellent and very good value. The room was small but comfortable. The gardens were lovely.
Really hard to get a parking spot in the car park.
Locatio perfect. Right on the river
No air conditioner
Location
No air conditioning and rooms low on comfort and too small
The whole experience was great from check in to departure. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The hotel was spotless, my room was very nice, and breakfast was good. The location is perfect and outdoor terraces are very nice.
Can't think of much at all. Shower wasn't perfect - could do with more pressure, but that was it.
Great location on the river, nice and clean, staff were great and food quality was good. Stayed on a Friday which was nice and busy with some live music
Evening Food choice was a bit limited but quality good
Great location by the river Lovely bar and outdoor area Nice spacious room
No air con in the room and being so close to road and car park, was awaken by bin trucks really early
This is my go-to place to stay when visiting Worcester, largely becaise it is situated close to the river in a very quiet location. I was very fortunate this time to be given a ground floor room overlooking the river so I could just step out and sit and admire the view. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The bathroom was a very good size with a walk-in rain shower. The hot breakfasts are cooked to order using good quality ingredients. If you want to eat in the restaurant in the evening you need to book in advance as it can get booked up.
The continental selection at breakfast is a little limited.
Location was perfect . Overlooking the river. Outside beer garden was fantastic. Also our room was on the 1st floor with a river view. All of the staff were great. Breakfast was excellent
We got the last parking space but it was a bit tight . We appreciated having onsite parking considering it was so close to the town centre
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Grounds were lovely with lots of spaces to relax in Breakfast was great with good choices
Not enough car parking spaces but did find public car park nearby
Location
No fridge or air con, very limited parking.
Quiet, close to town centre. In the riverside - great for walks. Excellent meals. Staff very helpful.
Lovely location. Great vibe. Fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff.
Good luck with the car park. It’s a lottery to get a place!
Lovely view of the river and easy walk into the town or along the river path. Comfortable beds. Wonderful breakfast.
Nothing.
Friendly staff. Good location, lovely views and easy parking.. Great breakfast. Fantastic atmosphere in garden during good evening/night with live music.
No air conditioning but understandable.
L emplacement idyllique près de la rivière les cygnes...
Qu on ne puisse pas accéder à la véranda pour boire un verre le soir
Location was excellent, right by the Severn River, superb views, very relaxed and enjoyable stay, comfortable room, very clean, the staff were very helpful. Breakfast menu varied with excellent quality, a superb high quality evening meal.

It was really good with a lovely outside overlooking the river
The noise outside our room
Great character, perfect location.
Very noisy from the beer garden, and also late night barrel deliveries or moving noisy equipment. Breakfast isn’t wow, and for £20 additional head for someone to join it’s very steep, and surcharge for any coffee that isn’t filter is a little cheap for a hotel thats already claiming their breakfast isn’t £20. Ordering Food outside is a shambles. 45mins for a baguette. We were a table of 6 and not one of us ate our food together as it was literally one by one.
Amazing location; super breakfast.
Room hot but fan provided.
I booked a table for 20 to celebrate my sons 18th Birthday. The team arranged three large tables in a row in the conservatory. The restaurant staff were exceptional and attentive and the food was excellent with minor adjustments to a couple of food orders. The hour before was so enjoyable as we gathered in the garden listening to the live singing with hundreds of other customers enjoying the evening. We shall most definitely return..
Superb breakfasts and lunch, very friendly helpful staff, rooms and bed very comfortable.
On the days we were there the hotel was completely over-run with hoards of very noisy non-residents in the outside garden/hotel terrace area each afternoon and evening, probably several hundred of them at certain times, with loud music blasting out, so it was more like a beach party venue than a private relaxing hotel. So not at all what we were hoping for, and expected.
The location of the hotel is wonderful. So peaceful and beautiful on the river. The views from both our bedroom and the dining room were fantastic! We would highly recommend it to others. The tables outside with live music were an added bonus as was the homemade pizza oven in the garden for delicious pizzas. I can't recommend it enough.
Everything was great.
Location was brilliant and the setting too overlooking the river. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast amazing!
Quite a warm small room with no air con
Breakfast choice was fine, good selection. Breakfast was hot and a cold buffet was available including cereal, yoghurt, pastries, fruit. Staff were responsive to the room change and tried to resolve the insect issue, drinks offered and a small reduction in room to account for very late check in of 5.30pm. Location great, nice outdoor bar area which had music until 9pm in the outdoor bar area, we enjoyed but may be worth checking if this is not to your liking. Very busy outdoor area as weather was nice. Short walk to town, lots of eateries and bars near by.
Had to change rooms as first room was full of spider webs, doors of junior terrace were unclean. The room was in an annex separate from the hotel; worth checking this in advance in terms of room location as we were not clear that this is in an annex which is. not staffed. Carpet heavily stained and room appeared unclean; heavy smell of sewerage being masked by heavy fragrance in the corridor. Staff kindly moved our room - second room had huge number of spider webs / spider nests in and out of window along with many flys trapped in webs, staff agreed to clean room as it was agreed it wasn’t acceptable for guests. Table and chairs in room - chairs were heavily stained all over each chair not just small stains as was the carpet, generally dusty and unkempt room. Very dated, however this can be accepted so long as a good standard of cleanliness is in place. For noting there is no air con in rooms which in summer may not be suitable for some. Bedding was clean. Carvery platter was plentiful however chicken appeared dry to look at and was dry to taste. Roast potatoes were poor and very soft. Root Veg selection noted was one small parsnip halved and one small carrot halved to be shared. Gravy was watery and tasteless, not a great example of a Sunday platter, this was more around heat of platter.
Location is excellent- by the river
I booked a standard room which had sloping eaves in room and bathroom- these were rather low.
Excellent as always
Fantastic position on the river in Worcester.
It was a bit too hot with our room being on the first floor! We were at the end of a corridor, lovely and quiet though.
Good value for money food good
Room very hot no lift
Staff were great food fantastic location fantastic.
Room was compact, TV was dated and small and the bed was quite small.
Excellent stay, right in the heart of the town by the river. Staff friendly, lovely food.
Having read a few negative reviews of the Diglis hotel i approached a lunch there with friends with a little trepidation. Those concerns soon disappeared, as from our first entrance into the bar, until the end of the meal, everything was perfect. All the staff, from the bar, reception, and especially our server Caitlin, were friendly , informative, helpful and efficient. Very popular riverside location, good variety of drinks, wonderful food, and attentive staff. Congratulations to the management and staff for providing us with an excellent anniversary meal experience. I encourage people to give it a try, as we will certainly return.
Location excellent Car park Good staff Reasonably priced
All good
Location for a city break is excellent
Limited car parking
Resturant food including breakfast were of a very high standard for the price. Great value.
The room was lovely overlooking the river. There was a wedding party which we were worried about the noise but actually was very good and quiet before midnight. Breakfast was lovely and the staff excellent.
Car parking was very tight. We only noticed when we left that there was additional parking around the back but not as clearly marked. Managed to get the last car park on the front. We also received remote checking in message which asked for time of arrival, we put 13:30 and arrived around that time only to be told that check in was from 15:00. Confusing.
Plenty of outdoor space to drink in. Food was good. Breakfast was excellent
Nothing not to like.
Excellent location
Beautiful location, excellent room and facilities, dining, attentive, helpful and professional staff
Even though we didn’t have a feature room the bed was very comfortable and room very clean. The view from breakfast was lovely looking over the river.
The first morning we waited 50 minutes for breakfast as they only had one chef on but other people that arrived after us got their breakfast before us. I basically think we were forgotten. I am disabled but was unable to get a ground floor room so had to either have help up stairs or come in and out the fire exit in the rear car park.
Close to the river and the bar area was good.
My hotel room was absolutely abysmal. It was tiny, airless and hot. The price for the room was ludicrous.
Room size and style. Location and staff.
Decorating a little tired. Mastic around bath black, ceiling paper coming loose. Paint on wood s worn. No air con and room very very hot and not allowed to pen windows more than two inches
Size of room, nice and quiet
No air conditioning, fans provided which just about did the job but would be a lot better if air conditioning was installed
Great location, friendly staff and good food. Generous sized rooms
The car parking really is limited. We spent 2 hours driving round Worcester trying to find a car parking space which, on top of the drive down, was exhausting
Just returning from a three night stay at the Diglis House, with a racing syn’d group, had to change rooms as I had added an extra night for myself due to travelling time involved. An enjoyable experience, that we all agreed in. It’s in a decent location, only a ten minute walk to town, set in an ideal spot on the bank of the river Severn making it a great place to enjoy a drink or three. We eat out in the evenings, but found the breakfast to be excellent, good choice, well prepared, no complaints at all. Staff in general seemed to be cheerful and helpful, despite the extremely hot conditions that they had to work in, which would have been very uncomfortable for them. The only drawback was the lack of aircon in the rooms (we knew before) which made the rooms extremely uncomfortable, despite sleeping naked on top of the bed, and utilising two fans, it wasn’t great. As a group, and individually, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, and I hope we are able to at some point.
Breakfast was delicious Location exceptional View of the river and having guest garden area superb
Room had no window to open, only doors. Too insecure to leave a door open where anyone could get in. Whilst hotel provided a fan it was a sweltering night 20C and even hotter in the room. If there is no air conditioning an open window and a fan is a minimum. Winter stay would not be a problem.
It’s been smartened up, and feels sharp and clean.
With the exceptionally hot weather and no air conditioning or fridge in our bedroom, we would have appreciated some ice and iced water.
Lovely location and surrounding area, especially when sitting outside with a glass of wine 😃 friendly staff, good breakfast, lovely suite Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.
Nothing
Great location and lovely breakfast, plenty of choice.
One of the 3 rooms was in the cottage and can only be described as "student accomodation".....cobwebs on bathroom ceiling, cracked paintwork, an extension plug dangling by the dressing table and generally neglected decor.
Had lunch on the veranda overlooking the river on a beautiful sunny da We ordered tuna baguettes and was ver disappointed. They looked like the part part baked ones you buy. They had no colour and very soft. Not like a lovely crispy baguette I expected. Wished I said something
The hotel was lovely, traditional with so much character and set right next to the river path.
My room was above the kitchen ventilation which was noisy and smelly. The pillows were awful and the windows don’t open fully. Air con unit in the room which was good but wasn’t hot enough to need would just like to be able to open the window fully.
A beautiful hotel in an excellent location, on the bank of the River Severn, a five minute walk to Worcester Cathedral and a ten minute walk to the high street. Our room was in the annex, with patio doors leading directly to the lovely garden, lots of outdoor seating and a river view. The hotel was spotless, there were plenty of indoor lounge and bar space and the conservatory restaurant was excellent. We had lunch and dinner here, there was a good choice of food and drinks and everything we had was delicious. The staff were all polite, friendly and efficient.
The access road to the hotel is quite narrow.
Awesome location on river edge - nothing better on a warm July summer day!
Room was satisfactory, bit small but perfect for our one night stay
Close to city centre, good walks around the Servern River.
Found it difficult to get to, sign position not in prominent position, also when found correct street Sign for hotel not large enough to see.
Fantastic setting by the river and Worcester town and race course is easily accessible from this location. The hotel has had recent renovations which have definitely improved the overall look and feel of the hotel. Excellent choice for breakfast options, field mushrooms were outstanding but sausages very poor quality ( possibly vegan?)Staff very accommodating and welcoming and they work hard to make sure you feel at home.
Issues with our hot water system meant cold and lukewarm showers on both mornings of our stay and extremely hot in the top floor bedrooms in the annexe that the little fan didnt stand a chance of addressing.
We were staying at a self-catering cottage adjacent to the Diglis and having enjoyed drinks on the terrace a couple of years ago we decided to try the Sunday roast there. The food was good quality, I had the beef, hubby had the chicken. The only query and question mark was how do you serve a prawn cocktail starter? It was delivered to the table just in a cocktail glass, no plate, no brown bread and butter to accompany. Prawns, lettuce etc. were spilling onto the table. We did query this with the waitress who offered to bring a slice of bread with butter, which was plain white (like from a sliced loaf). We very often have that as a starter but never just in a lone cocktail glass. However, it was delicious. The roasts were superb, tender meats, plenty of extra gravy and delicious veg. We returned to the Diglis for another delicious lunch of prawn bagettes a few days later.
Waited while person on the desk was obviously doing some very important work on the computer to be told they had no rooms, strange as we could have booked via booking.com. Stayed at the cardinals hat instead which was brilliant.
We had not appreciated how different our room would be from the ones depicted on the hotel website. We booked a twin room, described as “stylish and chic” and relied on the statement that most had river views. Our room was dated and was by no stretch of the imagination “stylish and chic”. It had h a minute TV, a bedside lamp that it was impossible to read by but worst of all a window that looked directly onto carpark with the car exhausts so close to the window that the fumes entered the room. The shower was lukewarm. We pointed this out on the first day and were assured that it would be remedied. It was just as tepid on the second day. Room 22 is not four-star quality .
The property had character and the the location on the river was terrific. We managed to get a parking space, and the breakfast was excellent
No issues
Perfect location for town, cathedral and restaurants. Lovely view of the river from the garden and a riverside walk to check out the dozens of swans. All staff very friendly, professional and helpful. The restaurant is comfortable and food delicious. Thank you for a great stay.
Just one thing. The room above the kitchen was very hot ( despite small AC unit) and also noisy due to close proximity of the extractor fans. The other two rooms that our group had were ideal, especially the one in the annex, overlooking the river. A little more expensive but well worth the extra.
good location on the river close to the centre
restaurant for dinner was indifferent
The location and outside seating areas were excellent. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfasts were very good quality with a good range of choices. The hotel is an old house with character which we like. We would certainly return - but not in a heat-wave of 35 degrees C!
Our stay coincided with a heatwave and because the hotel is an old house without air-conditioning our room was uncomfortably hot. The hotel made efforts to help by providing two large, efficient fans which was much appreciated. I am sure that at any other time, this would be a five-star review,
Staff definitely need training.
