Ein kleines Zimmer, was eigentlich alles hat, was man für eine Nacht braucht. Es hat eine gute Lage, man ist in wenigen Schritten auf der Straße mit den Restaurants, Pubs und Geschäften.

Es ist ein kleines Zimmer, bei dem man immer wieder irgendwo sich anstößt. Zu zweit ist es dann ein wenig wie ein Tanz, um sich nicht gegenseitig auf den Füßen zu stehen. Die Dusche war separat auf dem Flur. Für eine Nacht ging es aber.

Great location for finishing the West Highland Way. Comfortable and clean but a bit tight for two suitcases. Appreciated access to coffee and tea in the bar!

Die Lage ist top, in zwei Minuten zu Fuß ist man im Ortskern. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, CheckIn war in zwei Minuten erledigt. Das Frühstück ist super, die Auswahl groß und die Qualität wirklich gut. Rund um die Uhr stehen Kaffee und Tee zur Verfügung.

Die Zellen sind schon wirklich sehr klein und leider müffelt es dort sehr, was wahrscheinlich an den Teppichen liegt.

Chambre plus que petite on ne peut même pas mettre une valise. J entends le principe " prison" mais quand même. La douche est a l extérieur de la chambre. Le petit déjeuner est cher et pas très bon. La literie n est pas top. Le matelas avait un creux. Je me suis réveillée avec un mal de dos pas possible.

was expecting the hotel to have a stronger “cell”-themed concept, but in the end it felt more like an overpriced private hostel room. The theme has great potential, and there’s definitely room for improvement to make the experience more unique and exciting. I’d recommend enhancing the design and atmosphere to bring out the concept more but without increasing the prices.

La cella era pulita, i letti comodi. Oltre agli asciugamani c'era l'accappatoio da usare per raggiungere la doccia esterna.

Ho dormito in una delle celle. Lo spazio è veramente ristretto, quindi se avete bisogno di spazio prendete una camera normale. Le docce, nonostante siano numericamente abbinate alle stanze non hanno la chiave, quindi ci può entrare chiunque altro. La nostra era usata al nostro arrivo. Le ragazze della reception si sono offerte di pulirla ma la mattina dopo c'erano di nuovo impronte. Naturalmente questo non dipende dal personale, ma predisporre delle serrature non sarebbe male.

The staff were great and the breakfast was limited but ok.

If you book one of the cell style rooms. You can’t be over 5ft10. You only get a bunk bed and if you are tall good luck. It turns out this was the old Police station and you get what I could work out is an old prisoner holding cell. Hence the name. Not worth £150.00 per night. Your shower is out in a corridor around the corner from my room didn’t smell very fresh. Very cramped. I would say around £80.00 per night maximum for that size and style of room.

Location is great and staff is polite and helpful.

Smallest room I have ever stayed...The mattress was very uncomfortable and thin as well.

The breakfast is good. The staff are very friendly.

Being robbed in broad daylight. £150 (without breakfast) for backpacker hostel accommodation - and terrible even for that market. Dark, dingy tiny rooms. They call them the cells (of this former facility) -they don’t need to keep them that way. And certainly not rip customers off so shamelessly. Appalling.

L'ambiance, ancienne prison, plutôt sympa. Très bien situé.

Quirky. Spotless. Friendly. Late check-in no problem. Fabulous breakfast.

Parking is limited, but there’s a huge public car park close by.

Too pokey, separate shower, lights not working, USB ports broken. Fairly expensive.

Our window was broken and the staff reacted very fast, helpfull and friendly. They fixed it, while we had dinner. It's very close to the end of the west highland way.

Room was a little to small for our needs.

Staff were great - tried to get me into another more suitable room but hotel was fully booked.

Room was terrible i knew I was staying in a cell but there was almost no lighting and shower was separate which i didn't feel was safe. I understand they wanted to keep the "cell" feel but this was ridiculous I had to keep the light on in the bathroom all night if not I wouldn't be able to see a thing. Parking terrible - way too small for amount of guests. redeeming feature was staff were excellent! Hotel seemed lovely cell rooms were a disgrace. I've stayed in a much better hotel same concept - repurposed prison and the cells were amazing and half the price. Total rip off!

It was quirky and just what we needed after the WHW. The staff were great and the hotel was clean.

Our shower could not change temperature as it was faulty. But this was not a big deal as the rain fall shower was so nice.

The hotel was in a great location, very clean and staff were very friendly.

We chose to stay in a cell which was the wrong decision for us. Whilst it’s a quirky concept, they are tiny with no area to store luggage or move around freely. That however was our decision and this space may suit young people who just want a bed.

Die Zelle war sehr klein aber sehr sauber. Das Wc im Zimmer und die Dusche ausserhalb eine Regendusche, mega toll! Das Frühstück eher teuer, aber der absolute Hammer! So lecker und susgiebig!! Und dafür für Kinder unter 12 Gratis!

Es hatte im Zimmer kaum Platz für das Gepäck. ( für Handgepäck alleine reicht er, aber nicht für mehr.)Das Doppelbett war etwas zu eng für 2, vorallem wenn man ein Mensch neben sich hat, der sich im Schlaf bewegt.

The location in the town of Fort William.

This was by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in, but also the most expensive. The second night there were a lot of very noisy neighbours. So I did not sleep until after 2 am.

Das Zimmer war sauber und für unseren Aufenthalt von einer Nacht absolut ausreichend. Bleibt man länger ist das Zimmer vielleicht etwas klein und es gibt dann auch sehr wenig Ablagefläche. Aber das steht auch in der Beschreibung, also weiß man es vorher… Das Bett war bequem und das Bad sauber und ausreichend groß. Die private Dusche befindet sich außerhalb des Zimmers, was aber auch wieder in der Beschreibung steht. Auch diese war sauber und ausreichend groß. Die bereitgestellten Seifen etc. kommen aus einer lokalen Manufaktur, was uns sehr gefallen hat. Die Lage ist super. In einer Minute ist man im Zentrum von Fort William. Und es liegt quasi neben dem Endpunkt des West Highland Way. Perfekt für müde Wanderer. Jedoch am entgegengesetzten Ende vom Bahnhof. Man läuft allerdings max. 10 Minuten. Das Frühstück haben wir zusätzlich dazu gebucht. Man kann aus mehreren Optionen auswählen und es war sehr lecker.

Kein Trockenraum oder Ähnliches, nach einer Wanderung im Regen, werden die nassen Jacken im kleinen Zimmer nicht trocken.

Far too small and cramped. Wash basin had no plug to have a wash . You had to use the shower away from the room that was flooded and no where to get changed so dignity was a problem. No room for baggage. Could not open doors as baggage in the way so safety issue. 2 lights worked and still dark. Nowhere for a lady to do her hair. The bed was far too small, my wife had to be as close to the wall to allow room for one of us to try and sleep . No air conditioning. The bed was ideal for one , not 2. Did not have a drink as we had to go elsewhere with our cup to get a drink. Also my wife had to sit on the bed so I could get changed . Very noisy in the morning as overspill car park was by the window. We were on the ground floor and fire exit door was open late so felt that there was a security issue. Being a pensioner the room Was not ideal.

Ungewöhnlicher Ort: ehemaliges Gefängnis. Schöne Lobby, freier Kaffee.

Die Größe der Zellen war extrem gering. Doppelstockbetten gehen nur, wenn einer sehr gelenkig ist. Die Toilette im Zimmer zwar gute Idee, aber in einem so winzigen Raum auch nur bedingt angenehm. Zu wenig Ablageflächen. Keine Aussensitzplätze.

We had a great time it was unusual to stay in a jail cell

Bed was uncomfortable but that is to be expected for an authentic jail cell experience.

Erste Nacht in nem Gefängnis ist mal was anderes Die Duschen sind auf dem Gang aber sind mit den Nummern der Zimmer versehen. Also hat jedes Zimmer seine eigene Dusche. Die Zimmer (Zelle) sind klein aber fein Man bedenke man soll ein wenig Gefängnis feeling entstehen 😅 Frühstück haben wir zusätzlich bezahlt aber hat mega lecker geschmeckt

Location and quirky. We were able to store our bikes.

It was expensive for what we got. I’d emailed in advance about storing the bikes and was told this wouldn’t be a problem. When we arrived the staff member was annoyed about it and said they didn’t have storage. I persevered and she did find us somewhere to store them and she was friendly in the end.

Betaald parkeren is een stukje lopen. Kost wel 12 pond per dag.. Kamer is een oude cel. Dus erg klein en donker. Douche was op de gang. Ontbijt is veel te duur, bij de pub ben je 6 pond kwijt voor een ontbijt.

Stayed at the Garrison after finishing the WHW. It is clean and well located, and the staff was friendly and helpful. however, the cell room was very cramped and there is little space for luggage or moving about. The shower is across the hallway, which was on but water was scalding hot. Also a bit difficult to get into the top bunk. That said the mattress was very comfortable. There isn’t a kettle in the room, but you can help yourself to hot drinks in the reception. Ok stay, but wouldn’t recommend for adults.

Location was good. We were only there for one night, so it was just a convenient place to stay.

I think the cells could do with a deep clean, the dark atmosphere and dim lights hide a lot.

The atmosphere of being in converted cells was fantastic.

Shower was not connected to the cell, but getting a shower was certainly manageable

Quirky concept and nicely decorated. Very clean everything to a high standard. Towels soft and large and robes/slippers provided as shower external to room. Mattress very comfortable as were the two pillows so slept very well. When I booked, I thought the toilet was external to the room too but pleasantly surprised to have the toilet en suite. Good location and staff helpful with parking as car park full.

Breakfast would have been free if I had booked directly with the hotel - lesson learnt Lighting fine for relaxing but probably needs a brighter option too. Bunk beds comfortable but frame low so found it difficult getting in and out due to mobility issues. Room was small but fine for me as only staying one night.

My husband and I finished walking the West Highland Way, checked in and got our luggage. Unfortunately the cell room we booked was too small to fit our large cases, us and our dog...we did have a lot of stuff. Reception were very helpful and for a bit more money moved us to a large room on the 1st floor for which we were very very grateful. Lovely friendly helpful staff very comfortable room with everything you need

Don't book cell room if you have large cases!

De locatie is voortreffelijk.

Stapelbed, waarbij erg weinig ruimte naast het bed beschikbaar is. Lastig in en uit bed gaan en lastig raam te openen. Daarnaast badkamer - zoals bekend - niet in of dichtbij de kamer, wat comfort niet doet toenemen.

Very quirky place to say. Very clean and tidy. Excellent choice of drinks etc at the bar and location into the centre of Fort William was amazing. Car park also a good addition.

Rooms are very very small, barely any space to even stand up once you have belongings in there. Always prefer an en suite shower however I understand with this predominately being a hikers hotel then this won’t always be the case. It was only over the corridor and again very clean.

Het was de duurste kamer op onze reis en viel het meeste tegen. Klein, niet praktisch , vieze onderlakens, te warm, te luid , ongezellig , personeel onvriendelijk (ochtends)

Unique experience. We got the bunk beds. Room is small with small separated toilet/sink area. Shower is down the hallway in a separate small room. Bed and sheets and towels were good. Shower pressure strong. Free coffee/tea/water you can get at the restaurant/check in area. Free breakfast only if you book directly. Staff is nice. Free parking out front. Central location at one end of High Street.

Glad I tried it but wouldn't again only cause the rooms were just to small for us.
