Its location was great. The room was nice. The gallery was great.

The upper level door did not close easily and was mostly unsecured. It also would have been nice to know that there was a parking lot above for the second floor rooms.

Get rid of the carpet Put some bright lights in the room

It had so much space, was bright and quiet and the location was amazing.

While it was clean in all the ways we would need, it could use some cleaning to get rid of cobwebs etc inside (eg in the bathroom).

Abluft im Restaurant nicht vorhanden. Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig und Anlage ist in die Jahre gekommen. Frühstück (Buffet) sehr bescheiden und für das zusätzlich mögliche, auswählbare Frühstück mussten wir 40 Minuten warten. Kaffee nach Abendessen nicht möglich ( ebenfalls kein frisch gebrühter Kaffee beim Früstück - Kaffeebohnen waren aus 😨)

Les photos du site ne ressemblent en rien à ce que nous avons eu comme chambre ( n° 12) Premier breakfast, nous avons attendu 45 minutes pour avoir ce que nous avions commandé. Deuxième breakfast, plus rien à manger, le buffet n'est pas réapprovisionné (voir photo). Des clients ont attendu 20 minutes pour avoir des toasts! Chambre pas nettoyée malgré la panneau demandant de nettoyer la chambre. A notre arrivée, les flacons de savon, shampooing et gel douche était presque vides. Le flacon de gel douche avait déjà été allongé à l'eau par les personnes qui ont séjourné avant nous. Rien n'a été réapprovisionné. The breakfast and the breakfast staff were good. The bathroom is good and the room was big. Location is good.

Stayed here on my wedding night, I’m local to Fort William but wanted to have something special on a special day. Was disappointed with the customer service. I had put in my booking requests it was my wedding night and had told the staff when I arranged to have my mum drop off my luggage that it was because it was my wedding night. This wasn’t acknowledged AT ALL not even by the night receptionist when me and my husband were stood in front of him, literally in my wedding dress. Not a single congratulations or even a smile, just awkwardly asked what time we wanted breakfast. There was nothing in the room about it either. It’s just a bit crap when you’ve paid £300 to stay down the road from your house and there’s nothing to make it feel special at all. I wasn’t expecting rose petals or anything but just some acknowledgment and maybe a smile. I felt like all the staff apart from at breakfast were really awkward, it doesn’t reflect the price point or the look of the place at all. I had grown up thinking the Lime Tree was one of the nicer hotels in Fort William but sadly my stay didn’t reflect this. The decor of the room was also a bit tired and the bed uncomfortable.

Il bagno è stato il vero punto debole: all’arrivo abbiamo trovato la finestra aperta e solo dopo averla chiusa abbiamo capito il motivo, perché si è subito avvertito un forte e sgradevole odore di muffa. Erano visibili anche tracce di muffa sulla vasca e sulla finestra e, visto l’odore intenso, abbiamo avuto l’impressione che il problema potesse essere più esteso; leggendo le recensioni, abbiamo visto che anche altri ospiti lo avevano già segnalato. Alla mattina, dopo che il bagno era rimasto chiuso durante la notte, l’odore era diventato davvero insopportabile e anche piuttosto preoccupante. Non ci è piaciuta neppure l’organizzazione della colazione: all’arrivo ci è stato comunicato che bisognava prenotare una fascia oraria perché venivano accettate solo tre camere alla volta. Il primo orario delle 7:30 (eravamo abituati a poter far colazione già alle 7:00) era già completo e abbiamo avuto la fortuna di trovare posto alle 7:45, mentre l’altra possibilità era addirittura alle 9:30. Se avessimo voluto fare colazione alle 7:30, avremmo potuto usufruire soltanto del buffet, rinunciando alla parte calda. Per chi viaggia come turista e ha spostamenti e visite già prenotati, questo sistema è poco pratico: se la colazione è indicata dalle 7:30, ci si aspetta di poter fare una colazione completa da quell’ora. Inoltre, la parte a buffet era piuttosto deludente, mentre la parte calda, buona, andava scelta e ordinata al momento, con ulteriore attesa. Sarebbe utile almeno raccogliere l’ordine la sera prima e, soprattutto, informare di questo sistema già al momento della prenotazione, così da poter riservare in anticipo l’orario desiderato. Nel complesso, considerando anche questi problemi, la struttura non valeva assolutamente il prezzo pagato: 296 euro per una sola notte.

Great location, unproblematic parking. Few steps to city centre.

Room for three persons is not comfortable at all. Room is too small, but on the other side extremely big bathroom. Although nice and big bathroom, missing mirror is problem.

Hôtel joli, propre et avec jolie vue. Chambre spacieuse et charmante avec poutres apparentes. Personnel agréable et serviable. Bon emplacement, à 10mn de la gare à pied. Petit déjeuner plutôt bien.

Malheureusement nous avions une chambre au-dessus du restaurant très bruyant (éclats de voix, bruits de vaisselle..). Et comme nous nous couchions tôt car nous marchons beaucoup, cela a été compliqué de s'endormir. Mauvaise isolation phonique aussi avec tous les bruits de couloir, personnes qui parlent, enfants qui crient, portes qui claquent. En soi rien de dramatique mais le rapport qualité-prix n'est pas justifié.

Uns hat alles gefallen, nur würden wir nächstes Mal für 3 Erwachsene 2 statt 1 Zimmer buchen. Zu dritt war es doch etwas beengt mit dem ausgezogenen Schlafsofa.

Apartamento muito espaçoso e confortável. Com charme. Privado e de acesso independente. Muito espaço e boas comodidades. Localização ótima. Inclui um terraço com mesa para dias de bom tempo. Boas vistas do quarto principal, para a água e montanhas.

Acesso ao apartamento com escadas ígremes e estreitas, torna difícil levar e trazer malas pesadas. Faz falta uma máquina Nespresso na cozinha. Parqueamento reduzido. Só ter 1 Wc é limitador num apartamento para várias pessoas. Supermercado ou cafés para ir comprar pequeno-almoço não ficam especialmente perto. Convém trazer de véspera.

Hotel sympathique, restau de très bon niveau, mets savoureux et produits frais. Personnel très arrangeant qui nous a proposé un early breakfast à 7am pour nous permettre de partir tôt pour le ben n'existe. Un grand merci!

Leider absolut nichts, was die massiven Mängel und das Verhalten des Managements ausgleichen könnte.

Die Sauberkeit: Das Badezimmer war in einem inakzeptablen Zustand. Die Silikonfuge der Badewanne war komplett schwarz und massiv von Schimmel befallen (ich lade das entsprechende Foto hier bei Booking hoch, damit sich jeder selbst ein Bild machen kann). Außerdem war der Badezimmerspiegel völlig verdreckt und staubig, was mir am letzten Morgen beim Rasieren aufgefallen ist. Der Kundenservice: Das eigentliche Problem ist jedoch, wie das Lime Tree Hotel mit Reklamationen umgeht. Statt einer Entschuldigung erhielt ich eine unfassbare E-Mail vom Management: 1. Der tiefschwarze Schimmel wurde als „ein bisschen Schimmel“ verharmlost, der angeblich „nicht aktiv“ sei und „keine Sporen“ hätte – eine völlig absurde und pseudowissenschaftliche Behauptung bei einer komplett befallenen Fuge. Man schob es auf die „Hauptsaison“, in der so etwas schwer zu kontrollieren sei. 2. Für den dreckigen Spiegel gab man ernsthaft mir die Schuld! Mir wurde gesagt, wenn ich das während des Aufenthalts gemeldet hätte, hätte man handeln können. Es ist offensichtlich nicht das Konzept dieses Hotels, Zimmer vor dem Check-in des Gastes gründlich zu reinigen. Fazit: Ein Hotel, das Gesundheitsrisiken wie Schimmel mit Ausreden schönredet und zahlenden Gästen die Schuld für die Versäumnisse des eigenen Housekeepings in die Schuhe schiebt, ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Schaut euch mein Foto an und entscheidet selbst. Finger weg!

We had a pleasant stay at the Lime Tree Hotel. The facilities were adequate and the staff was pleasant. We appreciated that there was free parking on the premises.

While staff were pleasant overall service was poor. The first morning there was only one staff member at breakfast. The buffet was low in stock and hot breakfast took over 30min to be served. While there was no indication that rooms would only be cleaned at checkout, and someone had been in our room, bins were not emptied; used cups not replaced and milk not replenished

Super établissement, très confortable, le restaurant de l'hôtel était super aussi. Calme.

L'accès depuis la gare de Fort William était très compliqué et les conducteurs de bus n'ont pas pu nous renseigner ou nous ont donné des indications très vagues. Nous avons dû prendre un taxi, car nous avons été mal renseignées sur l'arrêt auquel descendre.

WOW... where does one begin. First off, the Lime Tree is a small boutique hotel that is run very well. The guests feel more than just welcome, but more like family (not like Aunt Martha who we sorta encourage to visit). The rooms are more than adequate and are so "comfortable" and quiet. Breakfast is OUTSTANDING! David, the chef, makes an amazing meal offering four or five fresh choices. We were there several nights and each morning we looked forward to our first meal of the day! Delicious.

Didn't like? Ummmm.... having to leave. The Lime Tree is the exact kind of hotel I appreciate where it, being such a small boutique, the team running it take great pride, and make the extra efforts to seeing the guests are comfortable and happy. They more than succeeded!

Das self catering Appartement war prinzipiell ganz in Ordnung. Ein bisschen Renovation und ein größeres Augenmerk auf die Sauberkeit würden Wunder bewirken.

Die Teppichböden waren schrecklich und die Betten viel zu weich.

Not enough croissants for breakfast...shortage every morning with frustrated clients : could you just order more? Please insist on quiet hours...rude clients making a racket at 23h30 is just not what you look for.

Breakfast and dinner is well done. I had dinner one evening and is similiar to a fine dining experience.

Breakfast was delicious, full Scottish very tasty ,location of hotel was perfect for walking into town which was only a few minutes ,the hotel looks onto Loch Linnhe but unfortunately we couldn't see it as the room was at the back of hotel ...

When we arrived on Monday 13th July 2026 the central heating (2 radiators)was on in the corridor bearing in mind the temperature outside was 27° it was absolutely melting when we went through the door to our room ,when we got into our room and had a look about the towel rail heater was on and couldn't turn it off it was burning hot ,the floor in the bedroom was hot I thought we had underfloor heating but was just from the heat of the central heating pipes ,we had the fan on in the room the whole visit but didn't scratch the surface with coolness so unfortunately it was a really uncomfortable night's sleep ,great hotel for a winter stay but definitely not in the summer, when we arrived we went to the bar which only had tins/bottles and when we asked for lager there was none only beer so we left it and went into town, one of the photos is of the temperature from the car when we were at Glenfinnan on the Tuesday 🥵☀️

Spacious and well equipped

The apartment was huge, large main bedroom with loch view, well appointed kitchen, large living room and a great covered and enclosed outside deck area. Lots of storage space, area for hanging coats, strong power shower etc. Location is great, at the start of the High Street so short walk to shops/restaurants etc.

Apartment seemed to be above kitchen/restaurant area so quite a bit of background noise when staff arriving early/staying late/on their break outside. The biggest issue though was a radiator in the living room and bathroom heated towel rail were stuck constantly on. No other radiator had this issue which was strange but meant both rooms were very hot. Luckily the weather was cool outside, so opening windows/door to the decked area kept things bearable. Staff were largely dismissive but seemed aware it was an existing issue but they hadn't informed us in advance nor offered any compensation other than use of an old fan.

Das Frühstück war sehr enttäuschend. Das Personal ( blonde junge Dame mit langen Haaren) hatte kein Verständnis für Dienstleistung. Sehr langsam im Service. Das Zimmer wurde nicht gemacht. Ich musste selber Toilettenpapier besorgen.

Hotelli oli huonosti valmistautunut saapumiseen me. Kaikkien huoneet huoneet eivät olleet valmiit, vaikka olin etukäteen informoinut isommasta porukastamme. Vihdoin ravintolan henkilökunta sai huoneet kuntoon. Odotin muutenkin enemmän pieneltä yksityiseltä hotelilta Vaatimattomin aamiainen koko viikon reissun aikana, vaikka samassa oli kehuttu ravintola.

Location was very good, just a short walk to the centre. The breakfast was good.

We were told the room, which was very basic, had garden view, however, there was no view at all, except a wall, dirty ashtray with cigarette ends floating in a dish in filthy water. Dirty!, hadn't even been swept. Staff from kitchen regularly going back and forth with black bags of rubbish passing the patio door of the room. Bed linen felt damp, like it hadn't been dried properly. Net curtain on door was dirty along the bottom. We were looking forward to a relaxing bath after travelling to find it had a wet room ( disabled toilet) and the toiletries had all been opened and half used. We were told that all rooms were sound proofed , yet there were disturbing noises coming from a pipe that had been boxed in down the wall and lots of noise, banging doors coming from upstairs.

Die Türen in den Zimmern waren sehr schlecht eingestellt, die Badtüre hat sich nur mit viel Kraft schließen lassen. Die Sanitärinstallation ist komplett verpfuscht. Das Frühstück ist unflexibel, Zeit muss gebucht werden und das kleine Buffet wird dann trotzdem teilweise nicht mehr befüllt und der Tisch ist trotzdem nicht vorbereitet trotz geringer Auslastung.

Frühstücksauswahl war klein, aber das vegetarische Gericht sehr lecker. Die Lage fast direkt an einer Einkaufsstraße ist auch sehr positiv zu bewerten.

Das Badezimmer. Wir haben ein Badezimmer wie auf den Bildern gebucht, die vom Hotel bewertet werden. Zeitgemäß und gepflegt. Bekommen haben wir ein Badezimmer aus den 20er Jahren. Alt und verschimmelt. Wir waren in Zimmer zwei. Hätte ich dieses Badezimmer vorher gekannt, hätte ich dieses Hotel nicht gebucht.

Excellent location with beautiful views. Self-contained unit was well appointed and very comfortable, a great place for our family stay.

One of the rooms did have blackout curtains, these are a must in summer. The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable, the bathrooms had poor maintenance.

Goede locatie in Fort William op loopafstand van het centrum met winkels en restaurants. Ruim appartement met een goede woonkamer en prima keuken. Over het algemeen is het schoon.

De slaapkamers en de badkamer zijn op de begane grond met geen mogelijkheid tot ventilatie. Daardoor hangt er een muffe rioolgeur en kun je geen raam openzetten. De inrichting is schoon maar heeft al behoorlijke gebruikssporen. Do foto's zien er mooier uit dan het in werkelijkheid is.

Very large apartment with a nice view from the master bedroom to the water. Close to High Street with many bars and restaurants but far enough to be very quiet.

Internal doors auto-close which interferes with the free flow of the apartment. Not a big problem though. We found ways to keep them open.

Room was lovely, super comfortable with lots of space. Dinner was delicious, we both enjoyed our mains and puddings. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Thought breakfast was a bit of a let down. Would have liked more variety of fruit in the fruit salad some different nuts/seeds toppings along with plain yogurt and more space to serve ourselves - really only space for one customer at a time. Our coffee wasn't filtered properly and there were coffee grains in the cup.

Stayed in the 2 bed mews apartment and it was missing a few basic things that you’d expect from self catering accommodation. No tea towel or dish cloth. Only one knife! The beds had very creaky metal frames.

Habitación amplia y decorada sobriamente. Buena ubicación cerca del pueblo. Parking privado. En 2017, cenamos allí y nos encantó la cena. Pero esta vez, no tuvimos esta suerte ya que el restaurante estaba lleno.

Habitación excesivamente cara (218 GBP) por el nivel de confort que ofrece. El cuarto de baño era amplio pero el espejo era un simple espejo de aumento! Habitación excesivamente calurosa a pesar de estar a mediados de abril y haber dejado la ventana abierta.

Hotel avec un côté cour et un côté rue . Nous étions coté cour. Nous avions deux chambres dans un ancienne écurie transformée en appartement, car 4 voyageurs. Une salle de douche avec des problèmes d'odeur d'égout. Propreté très insuffisante

Déception totale. Chambre hors de prix (£ 295 la nuit) pour une prestation de piètre qualité et un service inexistant. Passez votre chemin.

Chambre au rez-de-chaussée proche de la grande salle de restaurant. Bruit jusqu’à tard dans la soirée des clients, des chaises qui résonnent et des tables déplacées. Odeurs de cuisine. De surcroît, chambre minuscule avec vue sur une pompe extérieure bruyante. La salle de bain (prévue pour des personnes à mobilité réduite, ce qui n’est évidemment pas un défaut, à condition d’en avoir été avisés au préalable) vous transporte dans le milieu hospitalier. Les éclairages de la chambre sont blafards et la literie de piètre qualité sans oublier la taille du lit à l’image du reste. Je suis désolée de paraître aussi négative, mais cette longue liste à la Prévert reflète la réalité pour la modique somme de 295 livres la nuit. Le prix en soi n’est pas le problème, si la prestation est en rapport avec celui-ci. Enfin, le personne nonchalant est la cerise sur le gâteau. Je n’ai jamais rédigé de commentaire négatif sur un hôtel de toute ma vie et j’espère ne pas avoir à recommencer.

Close to the water front and town, easy to walk everywhere

Given the bare necessities: one roll of toilet paper, empty shampoo and body wash, no dishwashing liquid or tea towels. Staff below the loft in the restaurant were extremely loud well after closing time; banging & crashing, yelling, whistling outside our windows, and much the same at 6AM when they came back for the morning shift.

The restaurant was fantastic, and great value, one of the best meals we had in Scotland. Room was double aspect. We left a laptop in our room, and they very kindly phoned us and kept it for us till we could go and get it. Breakfast was great.

Pinot Noir viel zu warm serviert und dann halblustige Kommentare zu machen, wie man die Nachspeise isst, weils anders halt echt in einem Massaker mit über den Tisch fliegenden Schokoteilen enden könnte (vielleicht hat der Konditor ja ausgelassen)

Typischer UK Substandard, allerdings mit ein paar Extras wie verschimmelten Badezimmerfugen, und vor allem Abgasen aus irgendeiner Propangasquelle, vermutlich Heizung/Warmwasser, die so mindstens alle 15min aus dem Abgasrohr neben dem Fenster, sogar unter Fensterhöhe, laut und stinkend rausbliesen, zusätzlich auch noch irgendeine Waschmaschine, von deren Lärm man beglückt wird. Bett ziemlich unbequem. Haus brutal hellhörig. In Summe daher extrem schlechter Schlaf. Abgasanlagen haben in zivilisierten Ländern mit Mindestabstand über Firsthöhe zu sein, das macht um das Heidengeld dann auch keinen Spaß mehr.
