room with sea view
Room adequate, breakfast good the view OK if you stood by the tea facilities.
The pub opposite, although the staff were happy and polite the choice of beer wasn’t to our liking and the food we ate on our first night was under par. However the pub next door was more to our liking. Purely a personal choice.
Breakfast was great, the eggs was cooked perfectly, was over above and beyond. The staff was excellent very friendly, cheerful and attentive. They cleared away plates and glass very fast. Room was lovely and clean had a nice smell. overall we was very happy with our stay and would come back again.
We did not have a great view, was facing the wall but wasn't to much of a problem for us. The bathroom was a bit tight my husband is over 6 foot, it was as big as a shoe cupboard felt claustrophobic.
It was very clean and the location was great with a beautiful sea view
The rooms were small tiny shower ,bed un comfortable.
breakfast and the view was good
the location was great,, the staff very friendly. the room was clean and it was cosy the carparking was the best we've had
only that there was no guard at the window ,little bit unsafe
The hotel is nice. Friendly staff. Did have a good view of the bay and breakfast was really good.
My husband wasn't keen on his dinner on this occasion. Also, although the room was nice, it was a surprise how small it was.
Classic hotel kept in excellent condition. Great location, great staff, good parking. We attended a wedding at the hotel and stayed for 2 nights. From start to finish the staff was great.
Nothing.
Fantastic old building overlooking the bay very good price included a supper breakfast
Great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and very professional.
Nothing
Clean, good staff, good stay away, nice breakfast
Clean and a happy place to stay
Very clean and tidy
Only dislike was no shop nearby within walking distance ( 3-5 ) minutes
Very well maintained Hotel, very comfortable rooms with everything you needed and staff very helpful.
It would have been nice to have a local bus that came nearer to the Hotel,
View of the bay...genuinely pleasant staff
Warm welcome and very attentive staff. Comfortable room. Parking facilities Enjoyable breakfast in a nice location with a sea view
My wife is in a wheelchair and access to the hotel was difficult. Automatic closing doors made it rather challenging to keep doors open whilst trying to manoeuvre the wheelchair.
The location was very good, handy for two good pubs and for getting around Thanet
We thought the carpets to the breakfast room could for with replacing
Location
Room over looking car park and neighbour letting his many dogs out at 6am barking
Beautiful building inside it combines period charm and elegance with modern convenience. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms neat and clean. Good breakfast and very efficiently served. Great views across the bay. Their pub across the road serves good food in a great environment. Weather permitting, the outside balcony terrace is a great pace to eat and drink with stunning view across Pegwell Bay. Will go again
Location and breakfast room was perfect. Nice restaurant with a fantastic view .
Attitude towards corkage and charging me £25 per bottle . A little excessive, expected £10
La proximité avec un restaurant et l'amabilité des personnels.
Le matelas un peu mou
delightful staff and a very comfortable room with great views across the bay. plenty of parking and great access to the coast path
My son and now daughter-in-law had their wedding there on the 22nd August.. and everything was fantastic.. the staff.. the food.. the hotel itself were all lovely. I would particularly like to mention the events manager Jo who went out of her way to help at every turn.. thank you ❤️
Excellent choice and great breakfast

Room was a good size & clean Shower was great, large towels provided. Room was very hot, no air conditioning, but fan provided. Staff very friendly & helpful. Restaurant/breakfast food, service & outlook were great; peaceful overlooking the bay. Toilet seat damaged & should be replaced.
Although the room we stayed in on the 3rd floor was small for a couple, it was well appointed and had all we needed. However, from the moment we arrived until we left the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were great.
The Fan in the Bathroom was unnecesary noisy
Beautiful historic hotel, if you get the right room, view from the restaurant on the bay, nice Bar and breakfast room
Very different rooms, first room was a disaster, supersmall, dark and view at a wall,as we complained we got a room with a view
This curious Victorian hotel stands proud overlooking Pegwell Bay, the landing place of St Augustine. Curious, too, that meals, apart from breakfast, can be taken across the road (not busy) at the pub owned by the same company. On warm days breakfast (good) on the terrace looking out over the bay is actually the highlight. On our first visit we stayed in one of the larger rooms with full sea views but this time in a smaller one which was adequate and had side views of the bay. Clean, comfortable bed and smallish en-suite. Fine for a one or two night stay. The whole place looks well kept but no air con. Pleasant, efficient staff. Ramsgate is lifting itself out of years of neglect. Plenty of restaurants, sandy beaches and impressive, large harbour.
Very clean room, hot shower and lots of space in the bedroom. Lovely breakfast and very helpful, warm staff throughout. Loved the fact that you could sit overlooking the sea and eat breakfast.
Nothing stands out.
The Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The beds and bed linen were very high quality.
The Seaview restaurant was very good and the views over the Bay were amazing. However, there was no mention on the website that the restaurant is located in another building just across the road from the hotel. This wasn’t a problem but needs updating on the website and literature. This is also where the bar is. No window in the small bathroom. We found it difficult to lift our suitcases up the 3-4 steps at the entrance to the hotel.
Great location, staff, clean
An elegant yet relaxed hotel. The room was small but lcomfortable with ots of character and spotlessly clean. The staff were lovely. It is a 30min walk to Ramsgate main beach but the pubs across the road are great.
We had 2 rooms, one a good disabled accessible room on ground floor and one on 3rd floor, cosy, view of houses and gardens, cosy. All clean and in good repair - seems newly renovated. Staff friendly, helpful and genuine, often having worked there for years. Unique tunnel journey to breakfast overlooking the sea.
Great location, great staff. Would definitely come back.
Wonderful staff, breakfast, bar and restaurant. I'll look forward to staying there again. Plenty of parking too.
A lovely Hotel. The room was spacious and had plenty of storage for your luggage. The bathroom was large with a big, clean, modern shower. The staff were lovely too, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfect. A very good selection – cereal, full English or whatever you wanted cooked, toast, pastries, fresh fruit (melon not just apples !) and the icing on the cake was sitting out on the terrace beside the sea. There was plenty of free, spacious parking – there’s nothing worse than having to hike off to a local car park and leave your car unattended and out of sight. The location was prefect for us for cliff top walks and not far from the vibrant town with pretty harbour and food, drink and entertainment. Being out of town it was very quiet at night, with no passing noisy traffic. We had a good uninterrupted sleep I would thoroughly recommend staying at the Pegwell Bay Hotel.
Very nice hotel in a nice location just outside of Ramsgate (25 min walk along coastal path). Our room was quite compact but functional, the ensuite was tiny but functional. We stayed during the heatwave however there was no alternative duvet apart from the winter one so we had a couple of sweaty nights.
Quiet & picturesque location. Close to the beach & lovely walk to Ramsgate & Broadstairs. A lovely building with character & interesting history that is displayed by well placed framed photos & pictures. The breakfast was amazing & we both had full English each morning along with food from the help yourself buffet, which consisted of cereal/toast/preserves/fruit/pastries. It certainly fuelled us up for the day!
There wasn't anything we disliked. The free toiletries were minimal, but we had taken our own shower gel. Asides from that, all very good 🙂
This was a lovely place with a great view
Its a three star but that was fine
Always consistently good, clean and comfortable.

Quiet & picturesque location. Close to the beach & walks to Ramsgate & Broadstairs. A character of a building, with photos/paintings ect of the buildings history which we found informative & interesting. Clean & comfortable rooms with tea/coffee making facilities & ample storage . Underground walkway tastfully refurbished in keeping with the building. The breakfast was amazing & had a good choice from the menu along with ahelp yourself buffet breakfast consisting of cereal/toast/pastries/fruit & preserves. We both had a full English along with food from the buffet all included in the price of the room & certainly set us up for the day of walking. Excellent value for money !
We stayed for two nights at the Pegwell Bay Hotel and loved it. The best part was the staff! Everyone we came into contact with was friendly, helpful and keen to make our stay special, nothing was too much trouble.. Our room had a bay view and was a good size with a lovely big and efficient shower. It was during the heat wave so it was very hot as the sun shone directly in, however there was a fan which helped a bit. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storge space and tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Everything was spotless. Basic good quality toiletries were provided but no conditioner or body lotion. (this is a 3 star hotel). Breakfast was amazing, far exceeding our expectations. It, together with tea or coffee , were served to our table and the quality of ingredients and food was extremely high. The breakfast room had a balcony overlooking the bay below....a brilliant view! We ate dinner on one night and a light lunch on arrival and the food was fresh and everything seemed to be cooked from scratch, absolutely delicious! It was a pleasant walk along the clifftop into Ramsgate and the open topped bus which goes to Broadstairs and Margate was close by. All in all a great stay....highly recommend! Thank you all.
A Hotel that we have often dismissed purely on the outward appearance …but my husband booked a 2 night stay for my birthday and we thought the location was excellent and the terrace for the excellent breakfast was an ideal place to watch the sea and tidal bird activity. My one gripe would be the constant dogs barking in the nearby houses…yes we had our windows open because of the heat but we would remind folk that a good night’s sleep is not possible with constant barking …for that reason we would not return.
Wonderful out of the way hotel, but only 5/10 mins drive to ramsgate town. Wonderful views, comfy bed and breakfast was lovely. Will definitely be coming back
There wasn't anything we didnt like about this place.
The staff is really nice and welcoming. Calm and relax place with a scenic view.
Great hotel. Lovely location, brilliant views, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Our bed was a bit weird. One half was flat and the other rolled away! Guess it was a bit old.
L'emplacement et la vue sur la baie. Le petit déjeuner au bord de la mer. La déco surannée.
Il faisait très chaud et très difficile d'ouvrir la fenêtre de plus que 10 cm. Le matelas était fatigué.
Great hotel with nice friendly staff. Good restaurant and easy parking.
Great location, was able to check in earlier than expected, staff very friendly, helpful and happy, the room was clean, the restaurant 1 min away, the food was excellent , the view was amazing, atmosphere was great, great service, the breakfast was all you could ask for, with outside dining & view ,
Nothing
Great location, next to the sea. Our superior room was well decorated, as were the public areas. We overlooked the sea and had great views of the tide going in and out of the bay. The young Scottish lady on reception was very welcoming and helpful. We ate at the hotel’s restaurant across the road. The food was very good quality and the sea bass excellently cooked. The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our meals. A credit to the business, well done.
Excellent breakfast - staff were wonderful

A great hotel on the coast at Pegwell bay. Excellent location for coastal walks just outside Ramsgate but convenient for the restaurants of Ramsgate and for exploring the Kent coast. Great breakfast served.
Spacious and comfortable room which was spotlessly clean. Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits and bottles of water provided. Breakfast room offers splendid views across the Bay, as does the pub/restaurant (Sir Stanley Gray) on floor above. Wide range of food served and special diets catered for.
Nothing comes to mind.
Superb location with sea view, breakfast excellent but room/bed rather small
Room could have been larger, staff not over friendly despite previous reviews to the contrary
The view, the friendly staff, the value for money
Our room was very hot, even when it had cooled down outside our room did not lose any heat so slleping was uncomfortable

Ein süßes altes Gebäude. Sauber und gepflegt mit gutem Restaurant
Bellende Hunde in der Nachbarschaft, die einen morgens wecken. Außerdem sehr warme Zimmer bei warmen Wetter
Very nice traditional seaside hotel. All staff were friendly and attentive, breakfast was very good. Room was clean and we had a seaview. Only slight criticism is that the bed was too soft but I suffer with a bad back so this may not be the case for others.
Lovely old world hotel. Plenty of parking (FOC). Staff very friendly and attentive. Rooms small but quaint clean and comfortable. Rooms can become oppressively hot in the summer despite the fan. No air conditioning. Shower was powerful and refreshing. Very clean. Breakfast excellent. Couple of miles walk to Ramsgate. Nice quiet location. Great restaurant across the road. Recommended.
We liked the room nice view. Breakfast very good set us up for the day. The staff in the breakfast room mainly happy and cheerfull.
The bed would be better if it was larger.
Pros lovely location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast on the terrace.. Cons the beds wobbled a bit when you moved but funny enough still comfy and the seal in the shower needs looking into and the housekeeper tried to gain access before we had checked out. We had a twin room with a sea view 306 a really lovely room. You have to use your key card to put into a slot for elecicity to the room. We joked we had a deaf ghost which wanted the the TV on loudly a few seconds after putting the key card in the slot and he loves BBC one. Breakfast on the terrace was amazing and the friend I was with didn't want to go home. Some bits need tweaking but service etc overides that.
Had a great break at the Pegwell Bay Hotel. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Nice room with a apacious bathroom and a big shower. Ate in the hotel restaurant on both nights - it’s located just across the road from the main hotel and has a fabulous decking right on the seafront. Staff were great. Only negative was that the hotel was further out from the centre of Ramsgate than we’d assumed it was, but that was our fault not the hotel’s. Actually this didn’t spoil our enjoyment one bit, although we did use Ubers to get into town and back.
Breakfast was amazing and so was the view from 306. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. tea and coffee facilities great.
The housekeeper tried to enter before we checked out and the water leaked from the seal of the shower. You have to put a card in a slot for electricity when you do this the TV comes on really loud even if you put the TV on standby when you left. We joked we had a goast.
Lovely location views and settings lovely
Lovely old property but needs air conditioning if possible but I would stay there again
A very good hotel in an excellent location for Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Part of the hotel which is across the road on the seafront is a bar and dining room on the first floor and a room for breakfast on the ground floor with outside tables if preferred. All the food served at this hotel was good and the bedrooms some with sea views were very comfortable.
Right next to beach
No fridge in room
A friendly hotel in a peaceful setting. Just 1.5 miles from Ramsgate harbour. Room was clean and comfortable. Best Lasagne that I have eaten in years.
Breakfast, room, bathroom
Bed (mattress a bit uneven)
Lovely hotel, quiet area, excellent breakfast.
Nothing.
Spacious and clean rooms. Well organised property. Breakfast was tasty. Staff were very friendly. Located in a quiet area around 30 minute walk from railway station.
No air conditioning (although not needed as fan provided and quiet enough to sleep with windows open)
We became aware of this hotel through a travelzoo offer but had nothing left so booked 1 night direct. Only one room left, a cosy double. Don’t mind a small room for one night however the bed was a standard 4’5 and just couldn’t sleep. Slept on floor at 3am but that’s just us. Having said that the location and food were excellent, we had a lovely evening meal and the breakfast was first class with good choice. We would like to stay again but need to pick the room earlier. Staff were very helpful but not so up to date on the history of the hotel etc. Lovely coastal walks both ways which weren’t to strenuous.
Room was well supplied with items we need/expect. Breakfast was very good as was the breakfast location and staff.
A bar in the hotel and earlier breakfast as we needed to leave early for a flight
Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles da, was man braucht. Für eine Nacht vollkommen in Ordnung
Room was fine, bed was comfortable, pleased to have a shower and not a bath. Breakfast was excellent and we were looked after by friendly and helpful staff who were able to deal with our requests quickly and effectively.
The only problem we had was the heatwave, which was obviously beyond the hotel's control. The fan provided was unable to combat the heat so sleeping at night was difficult, sporadic and not totally restful.
During my stay in the UK from early July 2026, I spent a night at this hotel after visiting friends in Rochester. I had originally looked for accommodation in Ramsgate, but as no suitable hotel was available there, I chose this one instead. In the end, it turned out to be a very satisfying stay. The hotel is located right by the sea and occupies a historic building. From the foundation stone in the car park, it appears to date from the late 19th century, which adds to its character. Check-in was smooth, and the staff gave clear and helpful explanations. Our twin room was reasonably spacious, especially compared with hotels in London, and it was well equipped with amenities. Across the road from the hotel is a seafront restaurant operated by the same hotel, where we had dinner. Wanting to try local seafood, we ordered the Pegwell Prawn Cocktail and a Seafood Sharer Board with mussels and whitebait. Everything was excellent. Breakfast was served in the dining room on the ground floor of the hotel. The room had a calm, pleasant atmosphere and made for a relaxing start to the day. Overall, this was a highly enjoyable stay: a historic seaside hotel with comfortable rooms, efficient service, and particularly memorable seafood.
My stay was amazing and the staff where incredibly helpful and so kind
Nice hotel and nice area
Didn’t like the room small very hot (small fan) outside door banging when people were going to there rooms and noise outside window.
We had a lovely stay at The Pegwell Bay Hotel. The rooms were cozy, stylish, and spotlessly clean, making for a very comfortable stay. Everything was well maintained, and the hotel had a welcoming atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay.
Lovely welcoming staff. Good location Dated but is what it is. Great breakfast, comfy bed and good shower. Curtains in room were thin so was woken early by light shining through. Room 005 needs blackout curtains
Well-maintained quaint hotel. Location by the sea. Good restaurant serving fresh seafood.
We loved the tranquil setting of the hotel with views across the nearby Pegwell bay nature reserve.
Excellent hotel we have stayed the last 3 years here very friendly staff and excellent breakfast you could not ask for more we will be back thank you David Fletcher
Rooms are always spotlessly clean, staff friendly and food good.
The location
stayed here on the 7th July unfortunately once again the bathroom floor was dirty, I say once again because we had the same issues on our last visit, the floors had a lot of hair, the corners don't seem to see a cloth or bath cleaner. think these bathrooms have seen better days.
Staff very friendly. At our evening meal they were considerate and served our group of 2 before a large group, so that we didn’t have a long wait time.
Would have liked more choice without chips on the evening meal but the fish with sauce was tasty.

De ligging van het hotel. Het restaurant dat verbonden is met hotel is wel erg goed.
De kamers zijn oud, zeer gedateerd en zouden niet als miva-kamer verhuurd mogen worden. Het is absoluut niet echt miva-vriendelijk
Nice size room comfy bed beautiful outside are for breakfast. Pub across the road overlooking the Bay
Nothing
This hotel was perfect for our one night stay to see a gig in Margate. It was by far the most reasonable option price wise compared to Margate options that were double the price. Really clean and comfortable room. We had a corner room so our view was perfect over the bay. The room rate included breakfast which was delicious…. and service to your table, no luke warm food under heat lamps… happy days! The walk into ramsgate is about 25 mins but a lovely walk so highly recommend it. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you.
Location
Bed uncomfortable. Curtains very thin and allowed lots of light through.
The room was a bit small
Breakfast was excellent
Room was excellent, a good size, plenty of tea/coffee/water/biscuits etc, good tv, bedding and pillows. Decent bathroom, towels, shower gel. Breakfast was cooked to order daily and table service, had a few different things off the menu, all beautifully cooked. View from side windows (by the lift) and the balcony at the attached pub/restaurant was excellent over the bay.
The food in the attached pub/restaurant (same menu) was good (we ate twice) and had drinks after our days out, however on our 4th night the pub balcony was full whilst the restaurant balcony was empty. I asked to go through to the restaurant balcony and was refused as was for restaurant diners only. I stated we would be dining later (we'd dined the 3 previous nights) but were refused (quite rudely i felt), we quickly finished our drinks, went to the other pub next door and ate/drank there instead (did the same the following night as well). Couldn't be bothered saying anything whilst there given the option next door was excellent as well, and they have a huge patio.
Comfortable room with a fan - needed for the weather, beautiful breakfast room with a terrace overlooking the sea
The location and view was fantastic.
It was ridiculously hot and they hadn't done anything to try and keep the hotel and rooms cool. Windows closed, fans not in use etc.
Been here 3 times now and always welcoming friendly staff, rooms are really nice and clean.
There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property, a lovely building too.
