Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Free upgrade on arrival as the top floor was free, he gave us the option of the two rooms and we choose with no hidden costs. It's high up the hill from Ella and has the most amazing view. we walked up Ella rock from here too.
I expected a bit more space on the exterior of the hotel from the images, it isn't a large space and wouldn't fit much more than two cars and two tuk tuks.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Wir hatten ein Zimmer in der obersten Etage. Das Badezimmer war wie neu, wir hatten einen tollen Ausblick auf Ella Rock. Der Balkon war recht groß und es gab dort kein Ungeziefer. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und die Angestellten alle sehr freundlich. Es gab sogar einen neuen Aufzug in die oberste Etage. Direkt schräg gegenüber gab es ein sehr gutes Restaurant.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Onze eerste standaard kamer bleek zonder airco, wat we op zich geen probleem vonden. De eigenaar liet ons de deluxe kamer zien en we konden zonder problemen upgraden. De bedden zijn lekker zacht, de douche is warm en goede wifi op de kamer. Het uitzicht op Ella Rock is geweldig! De eigenaar en personeel is enorm behulpzaam en regelde tuktuks, excursies en gaf tips om te doen. We heen er 4 dagen heel fijn gezeten
Je hebt echt een tuktuk nodig om naar het centrum te komen, lopen is echt wel steil, maar je bent er dan ook met 5 minuten.

Está cerca de un basurero, la llegada es desagradable. Habían obras en frente del hotel que molestaban. Al hacer el ck out había una persona molesta por pagar 85€ por una habitación similar a la nuestra, nosotros pagamos 25€ por el precio que pagamos esta bien, no más.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026The views are stunning, looking over the best views in Ella. Amazing to have a balcony to experience the views. Rooms are comfortable, bathroom was clean and functional. Lift very helpful to get bags up the stairs.
Location is up a very steep hill, cars had to drop us at the bottom but the staff were very helpful with bags so this was fine. Based slightly out of town so have to get transport in, tuk tuks are easy to navigate. Had to pay in cash as card machine wasn't working. Rustic breakfast and communal areas.

Family hotel, the manager is very unfriendly and the service is poor. The bed linen and towels are not clean and worn - washed by hand and hung to dry on the roof, the room is dirty, there was a leak in the toilet. There is no hot water, when we told the hotel owner he didn't care at all. Breakfast is served in dishes that are not pleasant to eat in. Not all rooms have air conditioning. The hotel is far from the center and there are no restaurants nearby. Definitely not a 4-star hotel!!!

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026Die Fotos Spiegeln nicht die Realität wieder. Alles wirkt sehr dunkel, veraltet und billig. Uns wurde bei Ankunft unsere Zimmer gezeigt, was der absolute Horror war, dunkel und Fenster war Richtung Küche. Natürlich hatten wir die Möglichkeit ein teureres Zimmer zunehmen! Die billigen Zimmer sind nicht wohnbar! Das Frühstück haben wir garnicht erst probiert. Es wirkte etwas unhygienisch. Wenn man das Hotel toll findet und buchen möchte, dann wegen der wahnsinnigen tollen Aussicht. Dann muss man aber ein teurer neues Zimmer buchen.Der Rest ist es nicht wert. Zu Fuss ist man in 20-30min Bergabwärts in Ella. War schwierig ein tuktuk zu finden. In Ella verlangen sie unmöglich hohe tuktuk Preise, die tuktuk fahrer sind sehr unhöflich, wenn man nicht für 3min Fahrt 10,- doller zahlen möchte!

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026We kregen direct een upgrade bij aankomst naar wat luxere kamers. De kamers zijn erg netjes. Mooi uitzicht richting little adams peak en ella rock. Super vriendelijke staf.
Ze zijn momenteel aan het bouwen recht voor het hotel, dat oogt wat minder fraai. Ook wel logisch want wat er staat is wel wat gedateerd. Het ontbijt is niet zo goed als op andere plekken waar we zijn geweest. En om naar t centrum te komen heb je eigenlijk wel een tuktuk of busje nodig qua afstand.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026Great balcony area with amazing views. All staff were very friendly and helpful and good breakfast spread each morning. Arranged tuk tuks when needed, whether for going down to Ella town or for any excursions. We also used laundry service and was very quick.
Nothing would definitely recommend.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Das Hotel ist außerhalb von Ella. Die Auffahrt zum Hotel war ebenfalls sehr spannend. Fotos und Realität stimmen nicht überein. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein. Der Ausblick aus einem der Zimmer war auf ein Blechdach, das zweite Zimmer lag ein Stockwerk höher und war schöner. Sauberkeit im Hotel könnte ebenfalls besser sein. Wir haben nach langer Diskussion das Hotel storniert. Da das Hotel keine Kartenzahlung akzeptierte und daher eine Stornierung über meine, bei Booking.com hinterlegte Kreditkarte nicht möglich sei und mussten 80€ Storno zahlen. Am nächsten Tag kam eine Info von Booking, dass eine kostenfreie Stornierung akzeptiert wird.

Lack of staff to respond to any request during stay - only one manager/owner seems to be trying to do everything. so its more like staying in someone's mult-room house than a proper 3 star property.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2026Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Wir haben ein kostenloses Upgrade beim Check-in erhalten und durften im neu gebauten 3. Stock, mit unglaublich schönem Ausblick auf den Ella Rock schlafen. Es war sauber. Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet. Der Balkom war sehr schön und geräumig. Der Hotelchef hat uns sehr geholfen. Wir konnten einen Roller mieten und den Wäscheservice in Anspruch nehmen. Alles zu gängigen, fairen Preisen. Zudem half er uns, unsere Tage vor Ort sinnvoll zu strukturieren und zu planen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichlich. Wir können das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen und würden jedes mal wieder hier schlafen. Es war ein rundun sehr schöner Aufenthalt.

Het uitzicht. We hadden ook een andere kamer dan gevraagd. Alles was wat verouderd. Zo was de kussensloop gescheurd, viel de elektriciteit regelmatig uit, was de douchekop aan vervanging toe. Men rekent teveel aan hoor dergelijke accommodatie.

This hotel is NOT like in the pictures. I have no idea how this hotel has barely- to no bad reviews. We arrived at the hotel and were a bit skeptical when the hotel lobby didn’t look proper. Then we went to our rooms, to find it looking NOTHING like in the pictures. The WiFi wasn’t bad, because it didn’t work at all! And the receptionist said it was because we had an iPhone and not a Samsung, which is sheer nonsense. Then, like any person who WANTED to enjoy their stay in Sri Lanka, we decided to pack our stuff and go to another hotel. The worker demanded money, about paying 50% of our stay, which is understandable. But he became more welcoming afterwards and it’s alright if he needed some money. But if you’re planning on staying, maybe do that for ONE night only. No more than that

Bed was comfortable with a balcony to enjoy the view. You’ll need to grab a tu tuk for a 2 minute ride into Ella. We would happily stay again and recommend for others.

The property is a little outside of town, which makes it peaceful and relaxing. It's not within walking distance from the town but it's perfect if you have transport or don't mind a quick tuk-tuk ride. The staff were so kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our two-night stay. We would definitely recommend staying here!

It’s not a 4-star hotel as advertised. Towels are bad quality, room doors don’t close properly, rooms are smaller than advertised. Laundry services shrank some of our clothes, even when asking for cold washing (which was obviously not done)

Reviewed Jun 9, 2026Erg goed hotel!! Heel goed geholpen door alle lieve mensen van het hotel, hun zorgde ervoor dat het een erg fijn verblijf was! Prachtige kamer met uitzicht over de bergen! Het ontbijt is perfect! Elke dag weer wat anders maar allemaal even smaakvol! De porties zijn voldoende! Ella ligt in de buurt maar omdat het hotel wat hoger ligt, hebben wij elke keer een tuktuk gepakt! Het hotel regelde dit voor ons of reden zelf als het uitkwam!

Reviewed Jun 4, 2026Our family stay experience was good overall. The only issue was the limited basic restaurant options nearby, and at night the area becomes very dark with many stray dogs around, making it difficult to go outside, especially with kids. Other than that, everything was okay.

Reviewed May 27, 2026El servicio del señor del hotel fue impecable. Nos ayudó con todas las maletas y hasta nos lavó la ropa. Nos dejó cambiarnos a una habitación mejor por el mismo precio. Súper recomendable sin duda.
Está un poco a desmano del centro del pueblito, pero sin duda merece la pena desviarte 5 minutos. Las vistas son espectaculares.

Location but away from all the cafes. Entry to hotel was a bit sloppy. But overall the stay was best value for money.
