The location, tucked away deep in the woods and surrounded by trees, far from the noise and rush of everyday life, is truly exceptional. The trees, the sound of birds, and the peaceful atmosphere create a wonderful sense of tranquility. The beautiful pool blends naturally into the surroundings rather than overpowering them, becoming part of the landscape. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the lobby is a very comfortable and relaxing place to sit.

Missing few things The place could be improved by offering a few basic complimentary amenities, such as tea and drinking water. The rooms would also benefit from having essential toiletries and supplies, including toilet paper, towels, and soap.

Las vistas desde el balcón de la habitación. La atención del personal. Sam Pat fue super servicial y nos llevaba en tuk tuk al pueblo y nos recogía porque el hotel esta en una ubicación un poco complicada para el acceso pero él nos transportó super bien.

El transporte al pueblo no está incluido en el precio y es razonable, lo que pasa que los accesos al hotel son complicados y no cualquier conductor de tuk tuk tiene habilidad para subir. A cambio las vistas y la tranquilidad son espectaculares

Great place on the top of the mountain! We enjoyed it a lot since it was calmer than right downtown in Ella city. We walked usually 20min into proper downtown but there are plenty of cafés and restaurants along the way that I would recommend anytime before the ones on the strip. To see the sunrises from the bed is fabulous! The staff is super friendly and always there to help!

Das Personal hat sich wirklich sehr bemüht und uns jeden Wunsch von den Lippen abgelesen. Die Terrasse mit diesem Ausblick war ein Traum und das Frühstück sehr lecker.

Durch die eher abgelegene Lage musste man überall mit dem Tuctuc hinfahren, was wir aber gern in Kauf genommen haben.

Super freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber (er hat uns mit zwei TukTuks sofort abgeholt als wir uns verfahren haben, Tips für ein tolles Restaurant gegeben (Dream Lounge) etc). Unglaubliche Aussicht (wahrscheinlich die beste in Ella), sehr leckeres und ausgiebiges Frühstück (egg hoppers unbedingt probieren). Zimmer mit neuen Mosquitonetzen ausgestattet - wir haben zwar keinen einzigen gesehen aber war trotzdem ein beruhigendes Gefühl. Hinweis: unbedingt den vom Gastgeber gesendeten Anreiseweg nehmen, der von Google Maps ist nur mit TukTuk befahrbar. Es gibt einen schnellen „Shortcut“ nach unten wenn man zu Fuß unterwegs ist. Demnächst eröffnen sie wohl auch ein Restaurant - würde ich auch auf jeden Fall probieren!

La posizione della struttura è un po fuori dal centro, ma con i tuk tuk si raggiunge in 15 min circa. e quando si arriva la vista e la calma sono impareggiabili. La camera che abbiamo avuto era ampia, pulita, con balconcino per godere dall'alto una visuale sulle montagne vicine e di un'alba che a noi non si è mostrata a causa delle nuvole, ma che ci siamo immaginati. La colazione è stata varia ed abbondante, buona. Te e Caffè ottimi, disponibili in ogni momento della giornata. Non c'è il ristorante, ma si può ordinare da un ristorante vicino e mangiare in terrazza. E' stata la soluzione che abbiamo preferito.

Amazing location with a view of Ella gap, though a little tricky to reach . Easier if you are traveling by a cab or you can take the stairs . Also the hotel provides the tuk tuk facility which is charged at 1000 lkr for every trip. The host Mr. Rathnayaka was extremely helpful. He made sure that everything was arranged as per our requirements especially the vegetarian breakfast. Neat n clean spacious room with a balcony . Overall a great place in medium budget range to stay in Ella.

The water pressure in the tap was low but it can be tackled easily.

If you like nature, tranquility possibly it is one of the best accommodations to live in. In front two high mountain peaks are visible through them, a gentle breeze always flowing. Huge vast valley land with greenery makes the total atmosphere heavenly. You can also enjoy all these things from your balcony. Its location is absolutely unique, on the top of a mountain and away from the crowd.

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful! The view is breathtaking, and the staff are incredibly friendly and always happy to help, especially with transportation, recommendations for places to visit, and any questions we had. The place is very clean, and the breakfast is generous and delicious. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. We would definitely love to come back! ❤️

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit im Golden View! Der Host und seine Mitarbeiter sind super lieb und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich. Der Ausblick ist wunderschön. Man sieht sogar den blauen Zug durch die Landschaft fahren, während man frühstückt. In 20-25 Minuten ist man unten in der Stadt. Da die Anfahrt mit dem Tuk Tuk bis nach oben nichts für schwache Nerven ist, sind wir fast immer gelaufen, sogar nachts im Dunklen, was mit Taschenlampe gut funktionierte. Nun sind wir richtig fit. Die Betten sind super bequem. Ich habe noch nie im Urlaub so gemütlich geschlafen.

The owner was incredibly kind and always willing to accommodate our requests. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Although the guesthouse is located on a hill and can be a bit difficult to reach, they arrange tuk-tuk transfers, which makes getting there very convenient.

The people make this place. The room was simple, and the location is peaceful, but the staff go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The view is amazing from the breakfast area. For the price you pay, this place is great

A place that is very hard to reach and no transport will simply pick you had to take two tuktuks for the lugage and me and the wife. The room is very very basic colors are not calm and feel forced. The bathroom is old and not good, the seat leaks sewage water. The images have filters that hides the issues with the colors and the atmosphere of the room. I canceled after spending one night.

Das Golden View Hostel war für mich eines der Highlights in Ella. Die Aussicht ist einfach unglaublich – eher 20/10 als 10/10. Hoch in den Bergen gelegen, mit Blick auf die Natur, die Berge, den Sonnenaufgang, die Sterne und den Mond. Manchmal konnte ich sogar Affen und andere Tiere beobachten. An diesem Ausblick konnte ich mich wirklich nicht sattsehen. Der Service war ebenfalls super. Alle waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und entspannt. Auch Wäscheservice war möglich, was sehr praktisch war. Der Weg nach oben ist zu Fuß etwas anstrengend, aber die Aussicht macht das mehr als wett. Mit dem Tuk-Tuk kommt man problemlos hoch und runter. Wer Ruhe, Natur und einen spektakulären Ausblick sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

We stayed at this villa for two nights and truly enjoyed our time there. The location on top of the mountain offers absolutely breathtaking views over the valley and Little Adam’s Peak — waking up to this scenery and watching the sunset from the balcony was unforgettable. The breakfasts were excellent and varied each morning. On the first day we had delicious traditional hoppers, and on the second day eggs, fresh fruits, and other English breakfast items. Everything was very tasty, and the hosts were happy to offer extra portions if needed. The owner was incredibly friendly, smiling, and always ready to help. During our stay our car would not start, and he immediately assisted us with solving the problem, which we really appreciated. One important thing to know before booking: the road to the villa is extremely steep and quite challenging, especially if you are driving yourself. The narrow mountain serpentines can feel intimidating, particularly at night or in bad weather. However, once you arrive and see the panoramic views from the balcony, you understand that it is absolutely worth it. A peaceful and memorable stay with genuine hospitality and some of the best views we experienced in Ella.

Man benötigt für den letzten Kilometer zum Gasthaus einen extra Tuk Tuk. Man mussten den Eigentümer telefonisch kontaktieren und sich von seinem Tuk Tuk unten an der Hauptstraße abholen lassen. Die Fahrt ist sehr holprig, man sollte definitiv nicht schwanger sein oder Schmerzen haben.

Everything was great till our check out when we found out how much we have being charged for the tuk tuk rides the property offers. Bear in mind the property is up to a pretty sketchy road that most cars won’t be able to take, still they charged us even for our picks up from the main road. Of course we expected to be charged for the service that we used during our stay, but a fair and upfront communication about the costs (way higher than regular tuk tuks or the pick me app) it would be much appreciated instead of just being billed at check out.

Muy amables en el trato y te pueden resolver todas las excursiones. Muy buen desayuno. Y nos prepararon unos sándwiches para llevar cuando salimos a las 4:30 de la mañana.

It’s amazing Stay , one of the bests that I had in Sri Lanka - the Staff and owner are sooo amazing -welcomed me with opened heart -they even surprise me at my birthday with cake and everybody came together, the view from balcony are amazing and I definitely recommend to stay here . Stunning views, very peaceful, a small family run feel, and extremely warm and helpful staff. We made great friends with the guys there, it was great to chat to them and see their smiley faces every day and we were very grateful for all their tuk tuk pick ups and drop offs and recommendations and help with laundry service etc

It was a fair way up the steep mountain so we probably spent a lot more on tuk tuks than we would elsewhere because even though we were happy to walk places it was just too steep a climb in the heat to walk home

Incredible views, lovely and helpful staff, good value (fairly basic though). It’s quiet away from the main street but near some nice restaurants (eg Serenity) which are accessible by steps.

Their fare for a tuk ride home from town was expensive (1500RS) and with four pf us it added up quickly. Try the tuks from the main street, half the price.

The property had the most amazing view, it felt like we were in the clouds! Breakfast every morning was very generous. Staff were so lovely and helped us with our bags and with a tuk tuk down to the bottom of the road when we were being collected for a Safari at 2.30am!

As with a lot of properties with a fabulous view it is a steep walk up! Though the view was worth it in our opinion.

- I did not like the room on the ground floor (# 1) - limited view, noise from people moving chairs above you in the dining area, no A/C, poor wifi signal. So I changed it to renovated room which was amazing - the road to get there is not for normal cars, but guesthouse provided tuk tuk - limited dinner options as the city is 25 mins walk from this place (or you need tuk tuk)

Such a beautiful location and amazing views. Actually what made our stay so incredible were the staff that looked after us. They were just amazing, kind and thoughtful and would go out of their way to make our stay just wonderful including a special morning meditation as the sun came up listening to the birds around us. Just magic. We will definitely return and stay much longer!

Magnificent view from the room and the restaurant area!! Superb hospitality, very well behaved staffs, good English breakfast- comes with plates of fresh fruits, hoppers, breads, jam, butter, egg and tea.

The hotel is located at the top hence going there with car is a problem. However they provide tuktuk trips back and forth to the main road and it was complimentary for me.

STUNNING view from high up in the mountains. The best sun rise I've ever seen. And the kindest hosts! We absolutely loved our stay at Gold View and didn't want to leave. The hosts were so warm and made it feel like our home. They were so helpful and accommodating with everything - the sweetest souls (I still miss them)! As a bonus there's some lovely dogs that hang out on the terrace and the breakfast is delicious and generous.

The only thing that disappointed us was that our room didn't have a balcony, and when I booked I believed it did because the pictures of the room show the beautiful view. We were disappointed but quickly realised we could enjoy the view from the terrace and it felt like part of our home so it was almost as good! It's high up in the mountains so you have to get TukTuks to anywhere you want to go and the drive can be a bit nerve-wracking but worth it every time! :D There are a few good restaurants within walking distance too.

The best view in town! If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, away from the busy centre and surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot. Make sure you wake up early to watch the sunrise — it’s absolutely beautiful. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, which made the stay even more special. It’s a bit of a climb and slightly out of town, but it’s completely worth it for the views and the tranquillity.

Amazing view from our balcony. We were abit concerned about the location at first as it is up a steep hill, but it really wasn't an issue at all. There's a shortcut down the mountain to walk down into Ella town or the staff would always take you down and bring you back in their tuk tuk. Very friendly attentive staff. Had a very nice breakfast freshly made every morning. Very much enjoyed our stay here.

Well maintained hotel with dedicated staffs. Due to the heavy rain our vehicle got stuck but the host and his entire staffs came to the scene helped us. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who travelling Ella for the first time. Excellent view specially the sun rise behind the mountains.

Die Aussicht ist unschlagbar und das Frühstück ist auch ok. Der Besitzer selbst ist sehr nett und fährt einen mit dem Tuktuk in die Stadt.

Wir hatten leider nicht so eine schönen Aufenthalt. Wir waren bereits in Ella und wollten nochmal eine Unterkunft beziehen die eine schöne Aussicht hat und waren uns bewusst, dass dazu die Anfahrt etwas schwieriger sein kann. Diese Unterkunft ist aber nochmal deutlich abgelegener als die meisten mit schöner Aussicht und sehr mühsam zu erreichen. Selbst mit einem Tuktuk muss man sich dahin kämpfen. Das schönste war leider wirklich die Aussicht, die auch nur bei guten Bedingungen zu sehen ist. Das Zimmer war eher mittelmäßig und sehr hellhörig. Leider war auch einer der Mitarbeiter sehr unangenehm aufdringlich. Wir haben uns leider nicht sehr wohl gefühlt und würden nicht nochmal herkommen.

The staff make the experience as they are so welcoming and friendly. Every time they greet you warmly and they give tips on best places to go. The views are amazing and are so beautiful. It’s so relaxing to have breakfast and look over the valley and Ella Rock.

The facilities are basic but it’s good value for money and everything works. Location can be tricky to get to - you can’t walk to town as it’s far so need to get a tuktuk or taxi and sometimes the taxi driver gets lost or says he can’t go up the path. However, the staff help organise a tuktuk for you or drive you themselves and the location away from the centre also means it’s more peaceful.

W naszym pokoju prysznic regularnie spadal nam ze sciany na glowe podczas kapieli :) ale poza tym lazienka okej, czysta.

Very warm welcome, and great breakfast. The view from the room when waking up and while having breakfast was breath taking.

Access was quite difficult. Several tuktuks/taxis refused or asked for twice the money to go there. Room wasn't quite soundproof. We woke up with sounds from other rooms/hallway

The view was incredible! It really is one of the highest points in Ella with huge balcony and terrace. Sitting out on the balcony listening to the sounds of nature, watching the monkeys down below with a view of Ella Rock and Little Adams Peak. The staff were our favorite of our whole trip! They were quick to respond with our WhatsApp messages and questions, and helped us with tuk tuks and transportation. Our room looked as if it is brand new! Super spacious and very comfortable for 4 adults. You really can't beat breakfast with that view. It differed each day we were there. They provided tea and coffee, Roti, hoppers, omelette, bread with butter and jam, fresh fruits,

If I had to say one negative, it is just the difficulty of having to tuk tuk, and to find one that will go up to the top of the mountainous hill to the accommodation. But the hosts were really great about helping us! The view is really worth it though!

The view was outstanding! Staff was super friendly and helpful! The rooms were not large, but they were more than adequate. Breakfast was outstanding, the best omelettes we had at any of our hotels.

The weather could have been better, but not their fault!! :) We really did not dislike anything. It was quite a ways from the downtown area - and passing the garbage dump on the way up was quite smelly!
