The shower was leaking from the top of the main head. Was still able to have a shower but does require to be fixed. Also a body lotion would have been useful too.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Lovely courtyard and nicely decorated although our room needed some touch ups on paint and tilling The staff were good and breakfast was very good but a bit slow arriving Our room was in the main building at the front and the road is very busy it’s was very hot so needed the window open so quite noisy. There is double glazing so probably ok when it’s cooler or the rooms behind the courtyard may be quieter. A good place to stay.
A small fridge in room would be great for cold water and alternative milk. The cold tap didn’t work properly so needs fixing

sadly a couple of things, but not major....the TV was not working as it had an unsuitable aerial, so no signal. Also, the window needed a better blind- as it's summertime, the room was very light from the early hours...but that's all, not major. Still very happy - would stay again

Only concern that for full time wheelchair user that the space in room may be a little tight. We did have the room set up as a twin and there would be more space if it was set up as a double/king. Also insects/silver bugs in wet room noted on an evening from drains.

Attic room was boiling! 2 of the hottest days of the year and only a fan to cool the room because listed building status meant fitting air conditioning wasn't allowed. Steep staircase and low head height might be challenging for people with mobility issues.

Reviewed May 15, 2026Modern accommodation in a nicely restored old building.Very friendly and welcoming staff,good value food and drinks.We had the accessible room , large modern bathroom with loads of room for wheelchair users,with easy access from the rear courtyard parking area.Free parking always a bonus,but limited spaces.The room we had was named the Barnyard room or something similar.We only stayed one night as a stopover for which it was ideal.

The rooms are a little noisy as the ones above the pub are on a very busy road! They have made an effort to minimise the noise as best they can. This is a very old building so understandably it has its limitations.

Reviewed Dec 26, 2025This was a booking for my parents who absolutely loved it, especially the complimentary gift bag of continental breakfast etc etc. They are not used to staying over anywhere, this was a perfect location for Christmas day. I had already popped into the King's Head to check out rooms as my Dad had recently had heart surgery. I wanted to make sure it was suitable. Sadly for the King's Head, the morning they were going to check in a car hit the side of the pub. They came to my daughter's saying they didn't think they would be able to stay there. Luckily for them, but not for the landlord the damage was at the front of the pub, so their room was not affected. This memory of their experience will stay with them forever, thank you.
