Napier Heritage By Velvet Hotels

Location was bang in the centre and very convenient to all the sightseeing and restaurants. Very easy to find autos, taxis. Staff also helped with finding us a taxi to Alleppey

Breakfast was very basic. The fan and AC wasn't functional and room wasnt ventilated. It was very uncomfortable and we couldn't sleep the whole night as it was very hot and humid. AC was on but wasnt working properly. Staff should have checked all this. That's why we didnt return on our final leg of trip here even after booking and paying

I booked two Premium Rooms and one Dutch Room. Unfortunately, the experience did not match my expectations. There was no regulator knob to control the fan speed, which was quite inconvenient. The mirrors in the washrooms were not properly clean. Most importantly, the Dutch Room was a major disappointment. The difference between the pictures/expectations and the actual room was significant. Overall, the rooms did not live up to the expectations created by the pictures and description on the booking platform.

Water was not coming in the morning for hours which impacted our schedule. Also, a rat was found inside the swimming pool when we were in it. The above two instances spoiled our stay.

En plein coeur de Fort Kochi. Le personnel très aimable.

L'eau coupait tout le temps. En 2 jours, j'ai du demander 6 fois qu'on me remette l'eau dans la salle de bain. Ça mettait 15min à revenir. Je suis restée plusieurs fois bloquée sans eau sur le trône sans pouvoir me nettoyer correctement avec le bidet, ou même tout simplement sans eau au milieu de ma douche... HORRIBLE. Le personnel m'a indiqué qu'il avait un problème avec le compteur extérieur, mais j'ai plutôt l'impression que le manager coupait l'eau pour éviter les dépenses, car il y avait toujours de l'eau aux heures de pointes, mais pas aux heures de sorties classiqus... Je ne saurais jamais.

The location is too good

The location was great. Located in the heart of fort kochi. Rooms were decent facing the pool but the noise outside was disturbing most of the time. The staff were very welcoming and even gave us a souvenir.

1. Theres a lot of surrounding noise from the swimming pool during the day and other noise during the night (dont know if this is regular) 2. The pillows are extremely uncomfortable and the replacement pillow was the same. It shouldn’t be hard to keep a set of nice soft comfortable pillows. 3. The room had to be locked with a key from the inside each time and there was no other safety locks. 4. The restaurant is a part of the property, but they dont really have many items and the ones we ordered didn’t seem fresh. They seemed like they were cooked immediately after taken out of the fridge. Overall for what we paid, but for a hotel that calls itself 4 star, I think better can be expected. The property overall is great. The location is prime. You can do much better with basic improvements. Thank you.

Breakfast amazing for first day in Fort Kochi

On 2 Oct 2025, I paid a deposit of INR 51,183.09 to Velvet Hotels via international money transfer. On 5/10/2025, our bookings were confirmed by your reservations manager Sumesh S Nair. In early November, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer and advised by the surgeon to cancel my upcoming trip. On 12/11/2025, I advised Sumesh S Nair of this, cancelled our bookings, and requested a refund. On 13/11/2025, I forwarded the free of charge cancellation confirmation from Booking.com, as requested by Sumesh S Nair. On 9/12/2025, I was told Sumesh S Nair that the amount would definitely be refunded. After numerous requests, the amount has still not been refunded.

We had an excellent couple of days at Napier heritage hotel, it’sa vintage building with all modern amenities. The check in was smooth and staff were helpful throughout the stay. Special thanks to Akshay in helping us through out the stay with requests and questions.

Great property! The pictures don’t do justice to Dutch room at all. It is very close to the beach (5-7 min walk). The rooms are clean, big and maintained, all amenities are available. Breakfast spread was also good. The staff at the reception also helped us to book airport transfers. We got the Royal Dutch room with jacuzzi and had a great stay.

Privacy and ambiance

I was staying somewhere else and was going to move here for the night because of the heat and they had a swimming pool and I got a very good last minute price. The best thing was they had a pool, free drinking water and very good a/c In the room. Most of the staff were friendly

This is not a 4 star. There was the napier that I booked but when I checked in I was brought around to a different building that didn't have the heritage feel. The fridge in the room didn't work. The bed was awful so so uncomfortable I ended up not sleeping there. I just used the pool for the day/ night and left. There were no facilities to speak of it was a huge issue trying to get a can of 7up I thought being at a 4 star hotel I could get a drink easily. The grounds needs serious work cleaning tidying very unkept and plenty of staff around who could do a bit of work.

We liked the ambiance and the vibe. We would definitely come back again

Worst experience and never worth the money. Had the worst service experience from the staff. We received some other rooms other than the booked ones claimed to be an upgrade, but which turned out to be utter disappointment. It is mentioned in the booking sites that pool is open but once we reached there, they started telling new conditions and time restrictions. Staff respond with clear arrogance and has no regrets for their faults which spoiled our stay there. No toiletries were provided in the rooms. Rooms were very very average, with the bathroom doors not working. The check out time intimated through mail was 11.30 AM, however they did cut the water connection at 11.00 AM and despite repeated reminders, they never cared to apologise or make the water connection ready. We waited for over 1 hour without water in the washrooms and all they did was respond with arrogance. Moreover, they even called after we left the hotel asking for more payment when all the amount was predeposited. Never book this stay if you want a calm and peaceful stay. Average rooms and they ever reaches the standard of even a 2 star hotel. They do not even listen to your requests and complaints and behaves in the most arrogant way. A horrible place where even the basic water connection was cut off spoiling our complete mental peace.

The rooms. Were not ventilated. Dust and insects kept falling from the wooden ceiling.

The staff was very kind, welcoming, and always happy to give helpful advice, which I really appreciated.

The reality felt somewhat different from the photos online, and the overall atmosphere was more austere than expected, which made it less charming than I had imagined. The pool area, located next to the parking lot, was also not the most relaxing spot.

Very good location

Staff was unprofessional, our ac dint work, toilet door was not working, landline phone not working, toilet window always open. Complaints raised multiple times with staff but they were helpless. I requested for my refund, they said ok but not yet done. We are talking with hari hotel reception 87145 64445. Hope you will sort the issue

A lovely heritage property in a quiet lane of fort kochi. We got a big room with a private balcony and an extremely large tub in the bathroom. Breakfast was included which is basic but has everything needed. The pool is lovely and respite from the heat. While checking out the gentleman at the reception even gave us a little ship in a bottle as a memento. First class service, first class stay would recommend the same to anyone. (Especially the room with the tub and the balcony)

Les chambres sont petites. La fenètre donne sur une coursive que tout le monde peut emprunter, donc on retait volets fermés pour avoir un peu d'intimité. La télévision ne marchait pas. Le coffre fort ne marchait pas. La chambre est équipée de manière rustique. Un bon coup de rénovation serait nécessaire.
