The Hotel was Modern and Very clean

Too Far out of Town centre

Availability of such a lovely room to book. Fantastic view across the sea. With binoculars assessable to use during our stay. Breakfast was superb, great choice in its sister hotel couple doors down was not a problem at all. Staff very friendly will certainly be back again.

Location was excellent, a 10 min walk along the cliff top into the town. Room was comfortable with lovely sea view. Staff were very good. Breakfast was good. It would have been better to have bacon or sausage sandwiches added to the menu as an option.

The staff were very welcoming, especially Ryan who helped us out at check in. We had the family room which was clean and comfortable, and we really liked the layout having 2 separate bedrooms. Having extra bathrooms on the first floor was so handy too!

The location was great - not in the noisy part of town but fab sea views and walks nearby

We had the loft room which sadly wasn’t advertised as having a shower that was only functional when sitting in the bath due to the sloping roof! Two girls sharing this room with hair to wash … caused a little discomfort!

The room was lovely. We had the double deluxe sea view room. Breakfast was amazing, and lots to choose from.

Lovely Seaview room in a good location. Breakfast food was good.

Breakfast room is too squashed. Breakfast time could be extended to create a better flow of people They could remove a few tables and give each bedroom a more specific time range so the whole occupancy isnt trying to have breakfast at the same time or at least serve some people in the lounge area to create some space in the breakfast room.

We had a wonderful stay at The Seacliffe. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring Whitby. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and delicious food. What really made our stay special was the friendly and welcoming staff, who were always helpful and made us feel at home. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend The Seacliffe to anyone visiting this beautiful city. We will definitely stay here again!

Breakfast was a little too greasy

Twin room in roof space: Beautifully clean, beds very comfy, slept very well! Friendly and helpful staff. Good parking options. Amazing location, within walking distance to main attractions. Lovely sea views. You can hear the ocean if you sleep with a window open! Decor in the twin room was immaculately clean, modern, and bright with drawers, wardrobe space, and large mirror. There are plenty of plug sockets in the room, double sockets including USB for both beds.

Stayed in the twin room in the roof space. The bathroom was clean and tidy, but the shower is unsuitable for anyone over about 5.3 or with mobility issues due to the sloping ceiling above the bath (not the owers fault). It was difficult to stand fully to shower, but there is a small bath as an alternative.

The sea view was great from our room on the second floor. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection and plenty toast, The staff were great and very helpful. Nice little bar area too. Quiet location with good parking.

The bathroom mirror light never worked so tricky when shaving and no grab rails in the shower when base got slippery with soap.

Very clean accommodation, breakfast very very nice, staff very helpful . We had a lovely sea view room with tea and coffee making facilities.

More storage for clothes, we stayed for 2 nights which was fine, any longer and it would have been a struggle.

Breakfast - good choice on cereals Staff - friendly : nice touch to be poured coffee at our table on our last morning, shame this wasn’t a daily nice touch.

We were put up in the sister hotel a few doors down. Still a great location but dead flies on the top of the bed as we walked in wasn’t the best start. Cob webs in the room cleaner had missed. Cooked breakfast. Scrambled egg needs less milk used in cooking. Bacon needed a little longer and the tomato was threatened by the grill. Sausages though - very very tasty!

Just perfect. Clean, friendly staff, excellent service, good food especially breakfast. Can’t fault it.

Bedroom was quite small but very clean and comfortable. It was a last minute booking so probably all bigger rooms were gone. Food was excellent.

I was surprised that our room wasn't cleaned everyday. Waste bin not emptied

Good choice

Bath /shower no shower screen , bath small difficulty getting in and out . Also standing up in the bath was difficult as roof sloping . Could have done with taps at the other end and a shower screen needed.

Room was comfortable and well-equipped but we were in the annexe 3 doors down (which we didn't know until the booking was confirmed and we had paid the deposit) overlooking the owner's scruffy back garden complete with laundry on the line which remained for the whole of our stay. Couldn't move the car because of parking issues. Breakfast was OK and the staff were friendly. More of a B and B than a hotel.

Everything , the room was lovely and clean. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was delicious.

Staff were very friendly, accommodating and food was very high standard. Dawn was really helpful during our stay and I remembered her name as we share the same name! We booked on the weekend of the heatwave so our choice of room in the attic was not ideal due to temperatures. The views however are amazing up there! Everything was explained to us on arrival regarding times for breakfast etc and due to my specific diet this was catered for. We managed to park on the driveway which was ideal too.

May of been good to have a fan in the room or a sign on the reception desk to say if you require a fan please ask. Our arrival day was exceptionally hot. May of been ideal to have USB plugs in the walls for charging devices. More choices of milk needed for those intolerant to cows milk such as the usual oat milk etc. I did ask before hand and was offered Soya only so brought my own which was kindly kept in the fridge for my breakfast.

Whitby in general. Loved the hotel friendly staff, beautiful breakfast. Sea view from the bedroom. Fantastic week-end away

Nothing at all re the hotel, but very disappointed that the cliff lift is out of order and has not been repaired. Not acceptable at all for access to the beach.

Very warm welcome. Room very clean and modern although did request sitting but only I odd wooden chair although room was probably a bit small for 2 . Breakfast was lovely 😍 Good value for money !

2 Flights of stairs to climb ! We stayed for 4 nights but don't think anyone did any housekeeping in the room ie fresh towels or fresh cups although not requested.

Man geht ja nicht wegen dem Frühstück in ein Hotel. Aber dermassen fantasielos für ein Hotel, das sich mit vier Sternen anpreist…, das kann man besser machen. Das Haus ist sehr ringhörig.

Tiny little wardrobe nowhere near big enough for 2 people over 3 nights.

The dining room and bedroom felt cramped. Parking is on-street which can be a challenge if the beach area is busy.

Nice clean room with sea views. Binoculars were a nice touch. Perfect for couples. Perfect for Goth weekend which was the reason for our stay. Parking was easy with scratchcard. I forgot to bring my parking disc but hotel parking scratch card exempt you from the 3 hour stay and allows 48 hours. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Shower was amazing, bathroom very clean. Lots of space. Conveniently located. Better and more spacious than some 4 star hotels I've stayed in.

Breakfast was heavy on bread quantity and a bit low on protein items. A little less bread and a bit more on the bacon or salmon would make it a nicer portion but no complaints apart from that! The breakfast was included in room price. Food was very nice. Only flavoured yoghurts were available but no ordinary yoghurt.

A warm and friendly welcome on arrival. All the information we needed was explained to us before we asked. Excellent breakfast served with a smile.

Staff were friendly, and this place is well kept and clean. Breakfast was fresh, service prompt and professional. For a 4 star hotel when many other places are charging double or triple what these people are, this is absolutely worth the money. I would stay here again.

If I was going to be picky, I'd prefer softer lighting in the bedside lamp rather than the 'white' light.
