Welbeck Manor and Golf

Very welcoming staff. Place tired. The breakfast was delicious, though a bit of a wait, but good value. Room adequate, quite spacious but needs a bit of TLC The courtyard was not very inviting. Location great for Dartmoor Zoo!

Restaurant was first class and in such a beautiful location

The property is set nicely in the golf course grounds, giving a rural and peaceful vibe while still being only a few minutes from Plymouths busy centre. The rooms were great, the terrace was lovely as it was hot and sunny when we stayed, drinks were on point and the cooked breakfast was top tier.

Only thing I could find to say is we weren’t able to have lunch when we arrived because the area was booked for an event, in hindsight I should’ve checked table availability before I arrived to make sure they could seat us, I will check next times to make sure!

A bit far out. Local pub only opens Thursday to Sunday. Also we had a fire alarm at just after midnight on the 27th August, no staff on sight, had to wait in rain till fire crew arrived. Not a good arrangement. Our pet friendly room was small and very warm, even with fan and windows open.

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and delicious food. We stayed in the family suite which was spacious and extremely comfortable for a family of four. Very reasonably priced with very helpful staff. An added bonus that it’s next door to Dartmoor Zoo which was a great day out. I would highly recommend!

Nice place

A large, well presented room with a very comfortable bed and a big en suite bathroom. Tastefully decorated, inkeeping with the historic house. All staff were polite, helpful and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble. The breakfast was well cooked using quality ingredients and waa delicious. The hotel is set in such a beautiful, quiet location. We have stayed in hotels around Plymouth for the past 4 years and wish we had discovered Welbeck Manor before. We shall definitely be returning in the future.

The bathroom window. Needs some film on it. Had a look from the outside and I'm 5ft3 and on my tip toes I could see directly into the shower area I know people shouldn't be looking in, but a little bit of a film over the window would be nice.

Es war ruhig.

Wir waren schon in Nizza,Malaga,Barcelona, Hamburg, Koppenhagen,Edinburgh etc. Aber so ein Zimmer wenn man das so bezeichnen kann, hatten wir noch nie. Immer über Booking.com gebucht immer gute bis sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht.

The room smells just wider than a single bed and it was a twin room and the beds were tandem with a partition wall in between

Even though the room was a long shape the organisation was strange this could have been better. if two people were sharing, only only one could see the TV in comfort. the blinds were not fixed securely and fell off. The finishings were poor, the space required maintenance.

Atmosphere relaxing Breakfast being able to get a personal service to your needs. Choice of cereal & fruit juice not on menu but no problem as gentlemen serving rectified.👍

Another lovely comfy and relaxing stay at Welbeck Manor. Sorry to hear that one of the lovely helpful young men is off to Uni soon to the Police - I’m sure he’ll excel.

Missing a hairdryer in the room this visit- fingers crossed it’s been found/replaced for my next stay! Noisy neighbours? wandering around in the middle of the night…

The setting of the Manor was really lovely with the Manor set along side of the golf course and rolling pastures in the distance. Lovely drive to and from. It was a pleasure.

Beautiful location such a peaceful spot to absorb the view of the hills.. very friendly young staff. Breakfast was excellent we all chose a cooked breakfast was included in our price. Lovely room so cosy could’ve stayed a week.

We were switched from dog friendly room as lock was faulty which was damp smelling (not from dogs from the walls I think)

Excellent location allowing us a 30 minute drive to ferry port. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The large room we occupied had a comfortable bed and walk in shower with plenty of hot water

Check out was early 10.30 and extra cost of £20 for 2 extra hours when room rate was £166 seems excessive. Water pipe failure overnight and so no water in morning. When it did get going not much hot water.

Great staff, lovely location, nice bar and the selection of drinks was really good. The bed was comfortable and the views were extremely nice.

The room was a little small but adequate, and the shower could have done with servicing.

The views were amazing, staff were so attentive and lovely, food was great and other guests were lovely too. Beds were sooo comfy, we spoke with Mac a lot and he was amazing, thank you Mac!

The staff were friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel. The room we had 'The Cornwood' was huge and comfortable. The shower was lovely. Nice bar to sit and chat in and the view over the golf course was great. Breakfast was very good too.

Some areas could do with a bit of TLC but its an old building and it didn't affect our stay.

The bathroom was a little bit damp smelling.

This Hotel was very convenient as we were visiting Friends who live in nearby Plympton. We stayed in a Courtyard Room as we had a dog with us so thought it would be more convenient. It wasn’t really as the Courtyard wasn’t secure. The Breakfast Menu was very good. Cooked beautifully and to order. I’m Gluten Free and that was catered for. Beds were very comfortable.

The staff weren’t overly friendly which was a shame. The dining room floor was filthy needed a mop and a sweep. The waiting member of staff the first morning at Breakfast had filthy trousers and top on. Not a good look. Our Bathroom smelt of stagnant water. The smell hit you. We were also charged for the dog which we were surprised by as there was no mention of that in the description on Booking.com.

Lovely quiet location. Easy to find. Close to the dual carriageway, yet also close to the edge of Dartmoor.

Staff were not very adaptable/helpful following a (booking .com instigated) mix up. We may return to this hotel - but I will no longer use Booking.com.

Fab Location. Awesome country side views.

The location was very peaceful. Even with the windows open in the room at night, there was no traffic noise. Just perfect! Mac was particularly welcoming and very accommodating throughout. A very relaxed atmosphere. Great super king bed too!

It was very warm in the room due to the towel rail being on when we arrived, but it soon cooled down when it was turned off; just seemed a waste of money. Attention to detail was missing - curtains in the room were not hooked correctly, it took my 2 mins to rectify, touching up of paint was poorly done. Just needs a little more thought in reaching a better and more professional finish.

Another super stay at Welbeck, and even my husband was impressed. The staff are all lovely and go the extra mile. I stay here regularly and feel very at home here. Excellent dinner and breakfast, Easy parking in fabulous grounds.

A wonderful ambiance in the property overall and a beautiful room. The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. A special mention to staff member Yvette, who made us feel very welcome and took some great photos of us prior to a wedding reception. We would definitely recommend the property to friends and family, and will visit again soon.

We love he boutiqueness of the hotel, it's always clean, the staff are always pleasant and willing to help. The views are stunning and the food is always excellent. Where it's situated makes you feel you're in the heart of the countryside and not just off the A38!

We stayed in the Lutton Room, I found where the dressing table was situated under the TV to be very awkward you struggled to fit the chair in as the foot of the bed was in the way. The mirror was on the other side of the room above the radiator and small, I think a re-look at the room layout would benefit it from being less awkward particularly for us ladies! It was rather a dark room as it faced into a courtyard. The bathroom is very spacious, the main thing again for me is convenience to place wash bags so maybe look at putting some shelves in there? None of this will deter us from coming back when we visit again.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms are beautiful. Food in the evening was very good.

I would just comment that when you buy a sandwich (at lunchtime) the expectation is that there will be proper bread rather than pre sliced, particularly if you are paying £10. However the sandwich was very fresh and tasty.

The location was perfect for us which is what drove our decision to stay there. The hotel is boutique and has everything you need and the room we had was perfect for our stay and dog friendly. The front of house and serving team were amazing especially Emily. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Phil the chef delivered an amazing breakfast but also the most delicious evening meal. I would highly recommend eating here. And there was an EV charger for the car.

Built by Brunel apparently. The Suites/Rooms were spacious, comfortable. Clean private & quiet. There was no disturbance or noise from the room adjacent to the Cornflower Suite.

We arrived at Welbeck Manor in the pouring rain! It was actually our 42nd Wedding Anniversary. On the day we got married the weather had been beautiful! We were greeted by Emily and Mac(k), who were wonderful hosts, while they were folding serviettes in a Christmas style! Emily told us about the history of Welbeck Manor which was quite interesting. It would be a good idea to produce a booklet telling others about this information. We had a lovely, relaxing stay in a beautiful room and would like to revisit to attend one of the events in the future.
