The Morecambe Hotel

Food was very good, enjoyed our stay here though have to say some staff were friendlier than others.

Parking could have been much better. The bathroom requires a bath mat as the bath was very slippy.

Check in wasn't great, no details of WiFi or how to get in or out of the building out of pub opening times given. The toilet hadn't been cleaned, still had wee in it from whoever had used it last, the little bottles of toiletries provided had been used previously and not replaced with new ones, and the towels were thread bare. I use better to dry my dog off! The bathroom is a wet room and is so slippy after anyone has a shower. We had to lay towels on the floor so that we could walk in and use the toilet The cleaner let herself into the room at 10.30am, I explained I'd be checking out at 11.30am (we were only stopping one night and that was check out time), and she then let herself in again at 11.20am It's a nice enough hotel but definitely not worth the price tag!

Advertised as having hair dryer in room but they wasn’t one and I didn’t take mine because of this but quickly resolved when I told reception and they left me one straight away in my room. Most staff were attentive when having food but did find some just totally ignored you when wanting serving at the bar.

Breakfast was excellent, and the service was great, the Management was very friendly.

Das Hotel befindet sich einem älteren, renovierten Gebäude. Es verfügt über einen Biergarten und ein gutes, englisches Restaurant. Fish and Chips waren sehr lecker. Wir hatten ein grosses Zimmer mit Badewanne im Raum. Obwohl strassenseitig, war es nachts ruhig. Die Sauberkeit war sehr gut, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel liegt nahe der Strandpromenade. Das Zentrum ist gut zu Fuss erreichbar.

The hotel was in the perfect position away from the crowds but not far from the main area. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was exceptional

Comfortable room. I was there on the day when 52mm of rain fell and the kitchen flooded. Sadly this meant I couldn’t have a cooked breakfast but staff very kind and made up a sandwich

We had a room at the front but a bit noisy in thr morning with the church bells and horses clopping down the street. Not the hotels fault

Our evening meal was exceptional washed down with a great pint of Guiness. The room was great and the breakfast excellent. Love the beer garden at the rear and fully intend to revisit soon.

The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good and nicely presented. Parking was available almost opposite the hotel at no extra cost. It would be good if they had a sign you could hang on your door if you felt the room did not require housekeeping.

Traffics noise was quite bad even with the window shut. There is nothing the hotel could do as it is a listed building but I think it is something that should be mentioned. The bathrobes did not look and smell as though they had been washed. Also the Roman blind in the bathroom was broken and could not be used correctly.

A little confusion with check in times so this could probably be reviewed on other advertising sites etc. Other than that, absolutely fine. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you.

Lovely welcome from Wendy, the staff member handling room bookings. Very comfortable room and bed. The shower was excellent. A varied restaurant menu that was good value. We were very well looked after by Wendy at a family dinner we had organised at the hotel, and the next morning Wendy was still there making sure we had a lovely breakfast. A real star!

Would not recommend, bath room was not what is on booking.com room wasn't really clean, bathroom door didn't shut unless you pushed it at the bottom, bathroom was dirty, bath has chips in making it very uncomfortable so couldn't use it. At first we thought it was dirty but after running hand over it, it was chipped. Kettle was dirty on the outside and even worse inside.Carpet was dirty and stained and room was dusty, table top was in pieces ceiling is stained. And towels were ripped settee bed was stained and marked which was really quite bad, we did go and purchase a cover so we could atleast sit down. Staff on Monday and Tuesday clearly didn't want to be there, only a young man behind the bar with and manners. After complaining on our first night and one of the staff coming to look at the room we were advised that we owner knew about the table and would be there in the next day and would see us however nobody came to speak with us so I asked again on the second day to see him, only to be told "he has young kids and it's the holidays so he's gone home" I asked if we could get a room change but informed that they were fully booked and not possible. We booked for 4 nights and felt unwelcome by staff. Never saw the owner all the time we were there. Definitely not recommend.

We were given attic room very hot, even with fan provided. Did not like wet room bathroom, floor very slippery. Think this is quite dangerous for elderly couple which we are. Breakfast ok.

Loved the helpfulness of the staff who let us put our tandem in the bar for safe keeping. The food was simple but well cooked and the portions huge. Breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and spotless and the bed comfy. The shower was good and the provided toiletries great.

Great location close to the promenade. Friendly, helpful staff and a large, comfortable room a great shower and breakfast is well worth having.

There is a separate entrance for residents but visitors need to be aware the main entrance closes at 10pm.

Room was spacious and clean with a daily clean. However the wet room floor was slippery.

There was no real bar area and what there was was frequently used as an extension to the restaurant.

We boekten een kingsize bed, waarbij expliciet stond: breedte 1.81 - 2 mtr. Dat bleek niet te kloppen. Bij navraag kwamen er uitvluchten.

Bedrooms not overly clean. Bathroom blind very old and not clean. We had a fire alarm incident and were all out in the garden at midnight. Not happy to learn not one member of staff on duty in a hotel. We had to wait for a security guy to come and sort out!

Comfortable bed, fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. We arrived early and secured a parking spot which was a bonus. Having arrived early we were allowed access to the room for which we thank the staff.

Sorry to say we didn't find the breakfast as good as was expected considering the reviews we saw on line. We had dinner and that too was disappointing, nobody came back to ask if everything was okay! and neither were we asked if there were any allergies which is a must these days. The carpet in the bedroom along with the soft furnishings re: matching bed cover and cushions were in need of a good clean as was the carpeted stairs leading to the bedrooms, however the bedding itself was clean and nicely pressed.

Good location, lovely atmosphere in the bar, the room was excellent and clean. The staff were brilliant, Wendy was great as soon as we arrived. The beer garden had full sun which was lovely to sit in. Lovely place.

Easy off road private parking opposite hotel. Clean and comfortable room with all facilities. Plenty of hot water for shower and bath. Breakfast was good and well presented. Although it was an older hotel building it has been tastefully decorated and had charm and character. Bed was very comfortable and room was very quiet at night. Good location for walking into Morecambe.

A minor point but, walking through the bar/lounge to access the rooms wasn't ideal. A seperate entrance would have been nice.

The Morecambe hotel is a lovely and cosy place to stay. The welcome was very friendly and check in was quick and easy. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower had great pressure. There is a lovely beer garden and my boys enjoyed the play equipment. This is a great location for families being close to either the beach / promenade and the Happy Mount park (recommend for kids!). Definitely recommend and we will be back!

The sash windows were terrible , we heard traffic till late at night and very early in the morning, so didn’t get much sleep , also no black out blinds or curtains, just a blind so room very bright and very hot
