De ligging is niet echt op loopafstand van het centrum van KK, maar met een taxi is het zeer goed te doen.

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich. Die Zimmer sind schön, neu, sehr sauber und mit vielen Ablageflächen. Das Bad war das beste, was wir bislang in Malaysia hatten. (Größe, Ausstattung, Sauberkeit.) Es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze und kostenlosen Tee. Wenn man mit dem Auto unterwegs ist, ist die Lage sehr gut.
Zu Fuß ist es ein Stückchen in das Stadtzentrum. Ca. 40 Minuten. Was aber immer noch okay ist.

Reviewed Dec 23, 2025The Polo bun is really good. Enjoyed it every morning for our stay. So bummed we forgot to pick up the bun on the last day. Hotel staff is really friendly. Rooms is clean and in decent size. Kinda wish the room had a Luggage Rack, but otherwise all good.
Would prefer a bigger blanket as it was a bit too small :(

It was humid air feels and smells heavy with moisture. The corridor ceiling was leaking and parts of the ceiling missing. Didn’t like the check in guy but the check out girl was really helpful.

The hotel is situated outside the congested old town, along the highway, reasonably near the airport, which made it ideal for a night's stay after our arrival in Kota Kinabalu, just before our hike up Mount Kinabalu the next day. My travel companion arrived earlier than me, and they were able to change the booking name so that they could check in without my presence.
Room had no windows. Pillows were a bit too hard and high.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2025had a really good stay at Monocolo. The location is great — within a 10-minute drive to Gaya Street, which made getting around super convenient. The room was a good size — spacious enough to comfortably open two 24-inch suitcases. It was really clean and came with all the essentials: a fridge, hairdryer, and a wall-mounted TV. That said, it was still a pleasant stay overall. Would recommend for the convenience and comfort.
The only downside was the noise. I stayed on the second floor, and the middle part of the room could get a bit noisy when people walked past. The sound insulation wasn’t the best.

What really made the stay memorable, though, was the amazing service, especially from Deila..She was incredibly helpful, always smiling and friendly, even on the day when the hotel experienced a blackout due to the statewide Sabah power outage.. Deila was very positive, and continued assisting guests with a cheerful attitude..Really appreciate her effort — she definitely made our experience a lot smoother.. Thanks again, Deila!
