Well, the front desk service is very good, and the check-in experience is also great. In particular, the receptionists sherman gave us very pertinent suggestions and helped us compare several travel agencies,and also tells us the matters needing attention very patiently.

The hotel is very clean, neat, and well organized with comfort beddings. Location is nice, not far from the city center and also away from the crowed. Particularly, I’d like to give an excellent review for miss Masniah, how is very friendly and cleaned our rooms perfectly!

Super lovely environment, very friendly staff and helpful . Food is good and the coffee is too. I come here every weekend for coffee !

Alhamdulillah, my check-in experience was truly pleasant thanks to Mr. Sherman at the reception. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. He kindly offered me several complimentary drinks and even surprised me with a late check-out, even though I hadn’t requested one. Beyond his generosity, what stood out most was the calm and comforting atmosphere he created — his warmth made the whole check-in process feel soothing rather than just transactional. It’s rare to come across such genuine hospitality, and it really set a positive tone for the rest of my stay. Thank you, Mr. Sherman, for making me feel so welcomed!

Sherman at the front desk was friendly, courteous and helpful, I had a smooth check-in. Kate, with the housekeeping kept my room clean and tidy daily. This hotel has clean and new room and facilities. Conveniently located near a famous seafood restaurant.

The location were strategic, the hotel perfectly balances elegant luxury with a cozy, welcoming energy. The staff were friendly too. I got help by the hotelier named Nuraisyah and she make sure I know everything I needed to know. She was so helpful, I’m so glad I asked help from her

The location and the room space

During our check-in, one of the counters didn't help properly due to our breakfast supposed to be free for 2 people per room instead of 1 free breakfast per room but according to the booking.com that we applied from online the room was free breakfast for 2 people per room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we asked for more bottled water, they gave us plentiful. The room was well cleaned every day. We were allocated a room that was quite and away from the main road. Location was great - near to eating places and shops. We arrived late at night, and it was handy to be able to eat in the hotel restaurant at a reasonable price. Just before we left, we wanted our luggage weighed, and the staff at reception, Sherman, was most helpful with this.

It was good to have breakfast included in our booking. The breakfast could be better with more variety. The watermelon and papaya served everyday were not too fresh.

I stayed here in 2023, and I’m happy to say the service has remained consistently excellent. The breakfast offers a great variety and is perfect for a relaxing staycation. A special thanks to Tina for her outstanding room service—she was attentive, friendly, and made my stay even more enjoyable.

My 5-day stay at Holiday Inn Express was simply great. Right from the spacious & clean bedroom, efficient & polite front desk staff, delicious & yummy breakfast spread. Special mention to be given to housekeepers - Faseha and Masniah. Throughout my stay, they ensured my room was clean and tidied everyday; the toiletries and bottled water were always topped up. Well done 👍

Stayed 5nights in Holiday Inn Express Kota Kinabalu. As usual i was welcomed back like family as a long time IHG member. Always enjoying in IHG member hotels and this hotel was no different. Especially Jane who attended our room and Salley attending us at the restaurant for dinner a couple of nights. It was first time staying at the Kota Kinabalu branch and we found the location very convenient. I will recommend holiday Inn Express kota kinabalu to anyone visiting here in the futue.

The room smell fresh and everything was completely spotless. Zirah the housekeeping team does an amazing job. Excellent room service! The food arrived must faster than expected and was piping hot. A peaceful oasis right in the city.

I had a pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The hospitality from the staff (Nuraisyah) was warm and welcoming, making the experience comfortable and enjoyable. Although the breakfast selection could offer more variety, the breakfast services need to be improved.

Request baby cot tapi baby cot tidak mencukupi. Jadi tidur kurang selesa bila tiada baby cot kerana katil tidak sesuai untuk kegunaan baby, untuk orang dewasa sangat selesa. Ada habuk. Sangat nampak dekat area kettle. Sofa besar berbunyi jika digunakan.menggangu tidur. Belum jam 12 untuk check out,kad bilik tidak berfungsi Dan bilik blackout.

Definitely my choice whenever I'm back in KK. The room is comfortable, clean, & has everything I need. The property is well thought out, with a self-service laundry & even vending machine for essentials within the building. The breakfast buffet offers a good variety too. Kudos to the team!

I cant directly go to my son room (from 3rd floor to 2nd floor) instead have to go to lobby area and wait for them there before going to their room. I guess for a security reason

Location a little bit out of walking distance to tourist spot. You need to drive or grab a cab. Other than that.. this is one of the best hotel in KK.

The hotel room are clean thanks to Peth. Front desk staff Wieasalley very helpful in directing me where and what to do. Super friendly, she make me so welcome and comfortable. Valentine so helpful during breakfast. I very shy person and there is so many people during breakfast. He guide me to at the bar where is more quiet and he help me get utensil cause I couldn't find it. Food was great. Your staff are amazing! Keep it up!

I was very impressed with the room cleanliness the bed was neatly made and the bathroom was sparkling. Kudos to the housekeeping (Humphrey & cleamintin) ⭐⭐however,i must highlight as the bottle water provided. The water had a very strong chlorine taste, making it unpleasant to drink.

I had a pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Express Kota Kinabalu. Good location, with easy access to Gaya Street, restaurants, shopping malls, and many attractions around Kota Kinabalu. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet enough for a good rest. The bed was comfortable, and the overall environment felt modern and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, while both check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. Breakfast selection was decent and sufficient, although not extremely extensive. Some areas for improvement would be the limited parking availability and slightly longer elevator waiting times during peak periods. The breakfast area can also become crowded in the morning. Overall, considering the price, location, and brand standard, this hotel offers very good value for money. I would still recommend it to travelers visiting Kota Kinabalu, especially for short stays and self-drive trips.

I have been staying here almost every once a month. Still one of the most worthy hotel to stay in Kota Kinabalu. The only thing is too many chinese tourist and bring down the cleanliness sometimes.

Almaz is just great. Always smiling and polite. His level of service and customer care is well above expectations.

I had to request the bottled water 3 times before the send 6 bottles (I don't know if that's a retaliation) up to my room.

Feeling very welcome. The staff shahnizam is very kind & helpful while assisting me on my request.

Easy accessible, okay atmosphere, rooms splendid, value for money, veey clean, peaceful sleep, service rtip top, amenities complete and good bfast.

Breaskfast spread is decent. Good enough for a start of the day. Egg counter staff needs more training.

Overall good. Comfy and clean rooms, value for money, staffs are friendly and helpful. Satisfactory amenities. The area is quiet, peaceful and relaxed. A bit noise comes through but not too much. Location are great, not too jammed except certain times, not too close to city center.

The staff were great, always so helpful. The hotel is centrally located. Lots of choices for breakfast.

The linens weren’t great. The sheets has some black spots, the towels smelled musty, and one of my towels had multiple long black hairs (I have short blond hair). The “firm” pillows were very soft.

The whole stay in the hotel and the surrounding was good and the service excellent, especially Ayisah and Atirah were good 👍💯in their house keeping.

It is modern, spotlessly clean, great location and all the staff are professional, helpful and friendly. Great value for money.

Location - good. Near to gaya market Atmosphere - The bar atmosphere was great, with a wide selection of drinks, from wine to beer, to choose from. It also stays open late, so we could grab a drink before heading to bed. Rooms - The room was good. I had a very good sleep and a refreshing bath after my mount KK climb. The water pressure was good, making it comfortable to bathe and rest. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, with both firm and soft options to choose from. The soundproofing was effective, and the curtains were thick enough to block out sunlight. I was able to get ample rest throughout the day after my climb.

Elegant, clean, professional staff, cold AC, great coffee and breakfast options.

A little away from things, no pool which would have been fun.
