Lovely property, unique and lovely decor
Nothing
Location, bed, shower and breakfast was good. Staff ( when around) was friendly.
The general cleaning of the placed left a lot to be desired. Entrance was dirty and full of leafs, downstairs wooden floor was dirty and sticky. Every time you went to the breakfast/ dinning area you had to pass this room off the corridor which always had the door open and it was very messy and dirty inside. We stayed 2 nights and the room was not cleaned second night, bins were not cleaned .. generally there was a lot of dust everywhere from cob webs on lampshades to bathroom surfaces. Tea bags not replenished on second day.. when called reception at 20:50.. no one picked the phone or listen to the messages left. You have to pay extra for parking for all the day time you are at the hotel.
The bed was very comfortable, the room had all the amenities I needed and the bathroom was absolutely huge! The shower products were lovely, the towels were big bath sheets and there was lots of surfaces to put my various toiletries. The breakfast was delicious as well. It was a very convenient location, only a couple of minutes walk into Cirencester. I would definitely stay again. The car park opposite is free between 6pm and 8am.
The room was quite warm (25°), and I had to keep the fan running all night. There was also a gap under my door that let in a lot of light from the hallway, I had to use a towel at the bottom to block the light. There was a really bad smell coming from the bathroom, it smelled like drains. Also when I arrived there was no one at the front desk, and I had to call on the phone for them to appear and another customer told me the same thing happened to them the day previously. Once the lady arrived she was lovely and very helpful but after a day of travel it would have been nice to be greeted by a person.
The quirkiness of the property Love art deco and some lovely examples in the hotel We ate at the hotel and also went to the theatre next door which was superb

Location and clean
A lot of stairs a bit run down
Breakfast was good. Nice selection and very tasty.
All the stairs. Up one flight, corridor, down some more stairs, up again. not good for my partially disabled wife. Should have been told in the original booking form.
Right next door to the Barn Theatre, nice pre theatre meal and the staff were attentive and efficient.
The location was great, about a five minute walk to the shops. The bedroom was air-conditioned. Cheap long stay parking just opposite the hotel, that was good. We liked the fact dogs were not allowed in the hotel, except the bar area (assistance dogs being the exception).
Staff can be hard to find when you need them. We were not impressed with the frosted bathroom door as we could see each other sitting on the toilet!! Also there was no light above or near the wash basin making it difficult to see in the mirror above (this was in Brown bedroom). Breakfast menu didn't include everything that was available i.e. fruit juices and some menu items were not available. Hated toasted sourdough bread, goes rock hard!
Solo la posizione.
Struttura fatiscente e sporca. Personale assente. Colazione inesistente per chi non ama la colazione all’inglese.
Really lovely staff
Needs aircon - was boiling hot so if staying in the summer need to be mindful of that
The room was clean and well proportioned. The bed was comfortable with ample pillows. I particularly liked that the hotel had a small bottle of milk in the fridge for making a cup of tea, so often this is missed by hotels. There was a very good choice for breakfast which was served - a real treat. When we entered the room there was a fan running and music playing which set a nice atmosphere. This hotel is very well located. The entertainment provided in the evening by the piano player was simply superb.
The arrangements at reception were haphazard. You have to ring a bell for service and the reception seemed squeezed under the stairs. Given the lovely spaces available within the hotel I felt the reception area was a let down.
Great location, good decor, spacious and friendly staff
The room was a bit grubby, towels needed replacing, they were a dirty shade Of light grey. The toilet seat needed replacing it was rusty and the underside was coming away. Shower gel was empty on arrival although replenished when asked.
Ingleside House has been extensively and very tastefully refurbished and redecorated. The location is superb for exploring all the delights of Cirencester. I would thoroughly recommend staying here
Only a very minor point, breakfast service was much slower than we would have expected. They did seem a little understaffed that morning
Rooms comfortable and well equipped
Certain areas needed some maintenance, garden area, worn carpets.
Next-door location for the theatre (we were staying there specifically to see "Ottilie" - the theatre and hotel are part of a big old building complex). Further excellent Billy-Joelesque entertainment later in the piano bar. Parking opposite the site was fine, and a ten-minute walk into town. Cirencester is great to wander around, especially on Charter Market days, and a good base for exploring local Cotswold sites. The key attraction for us is the brilliant Barn Theatre, which stages runs of a few high-quality productions per year, all worth seeing.
There were some basic problems with the room given but fortunately the staff were very helpful and able to move us. Otherwise we would not have been happy with the quality. Price was on the high side but it was convenient for the theatre, especially in the rain! Next time we visit Cirencester's splendid theatre and market we might look for a less costly stay - unless the piano guy was in the bar....
Location and friendliness of staff
Breakfast was horrendous and room was hot, Dyson fan was pointless
Well located and easy to find. Room comfortable, if a little dark. Staff generally friendly and helpful.
Cleanliness of room was superficial, shelves and skirtings dusty and left marks on clothes. Breakfast menu limited - cereals, fresh fruit, toast not offered. Ordered scrambled eggs which arrived half cooked and inedible. Dining room dark and gloomy.
It’s been decorated beautifully. All finishings to a high standard. Exactly what you’d hope for from a hotel that’s classed as ‘boutique’
We only stayed for one night and couldn’t find a fault. We stayed on an exceptionally hot night so worth nothing it doesn’t have air conditioning but the room did have a Dyson fan in it which helped
The room and the parking place in front of the hotel
Breakfast waiting time
Quirky and tasteful decor
Not really anything
Comfy beds
I was disappointed with the breakfast arrangements. The staff gave the impression that it was a hardship to serve us. We ordered a cooked breakfast and a coffee which was nice but didn't have access to anything else like fruit, cereals, toast, juice, a second coffee etc. We were also sat in a darkened room. Not the kind of relaxing leisurely breakfast I was hoping for on a weekend away.
Such a wonderfully and intriguing building - steps up and down and up again! The staff was wonderful and very helpful, especially the young lady who worked most weekday mornings - I hate that I never caught her name. Kudos to her, though.
Nothing you can do about it, but the room was very warm and the lighting is really very poor. No matter where you stand you are standing in your own shadow. Part of the charm of a historic building, I guess ;)
Location. Quirky decor. Great breakfast. Lovely staff.
Location, comfort
Room wasn’t clean, cobwebs, dusty. Asked for more tea bags which were delivered but staff didn’t take used cups away. Coffee machine not filled with water and not possible to fill from tap. General areas not vacuumed.
We loved everything, especially the charming and smiley multi talented Olivia on the front desk. She was friendly, efficient, helpful and seemed to be everywhere doing everything, with charm and grace. The hotel is modern but stylish, lots of little details (mini milk in the fridge for morning tea, a personalised welcome note in the room, a double sided magnifying mirror for make up…) and the room and bed was so comfortable. Great shower, super breakfast.
Nothing
Beautiful hotel and beautiful room! The receptionist was so lovely - I wish I got her name but she was so friendly and kind. Absolutely everything about our stay was wonderful!
Genuinely can’t say anything negative about this place. We loved it and plan to stay again!
Convenient car park over the Road.
Stayed at the Ingleside for 2 nights ( 3 and 4th May) The room smelled strongly of damp we went down to reception nobody on reception, Day two, no fresh towels in the room went down to reception again nobody staffing reception, Not good enough for the £420 price tag Avoid
The decor was beautiful. The lounge room was especially stunning. Our room was small but comfortable. Our parents and friends seemed to get much bigger, better rooms. The pianist was fun and entertaining.
Breakfast was ok, but on the 2nd day they only had one poor staff member doing everything and had run out of a large amount of the breakfast offerings.
Location was good and Cirencester is a lovely town with great shops and pubs etc
Didnt feel very welcoming as i had to go to the theatre next door to ask how to get a member of staff to check in. The lady kindly phoned and eventually a young member of staff booked us in. She explained they had an event on and she was doing both jobs. Food was ok and staff were pleasant. Room was small but had all we needed. I felt it was a little over priced.
Great hotel, at short walking distance from the center. The room was on the small side but very cosy, quiet and very clean. The breakfast was excellent (choice from a menu), even though a bit slow. The car park right in front of the hotel is very convenient. There is a Piano Bar and the resident pianist/singer was great. Not a problem for us, but in case of mobility issues one might want to ask a room close to the reception as there are many stairs to reach some of the rooms. Would definitely go back.
Nothing.
Location and combination of hotel, restaurant and theatre.
Bedroom was a bit dark. Lots of cobwebs in various locations. Breakfast was disappointing: several choices were not available.
The location , the vibes
The sofa bed was ruin
The decor was lovely and the beds comfortable. The rooms had quirky touches. The bath products were amazing.
The breakfast took over an hour and a half to be served and the food for our party came out at radically different times. The scrambled eggs were undercooked, the poached eggs overcooked and the avocado waxy. We did not go back for our second morning despite it being included. We did feel sorry for the one very young chef who was trying his best - he clearly needed help and they need to put more staff on. Two bulbs in our room were broken so the room was very dark.
The hotel is a lovely old quaint Inn. The staff friendliness, location to parking / town center and breakfasts are exceptional.
Access to guest rooms making it challenging to navigate luggage. The guest rooms are dark and dimly light.
Great decor, fabulous location. Lovely outside space and breakfast was excellent.
Room was quite warm, needed to open window but road noise was loud. Shampoo dispenser was blocked.
Big room, comfy bed, lovely atmosphere and helpful staff
Towels are a bit dingy
The public parking across the road form the hotel was plentiful and cheap.
Cleanliness was poor throughout although the bedroom was just about acceptably clean. The hotel was overpriced in our opinion. Breakfast was average at best. A strange, deep, humming noise was audible in our bedroom throughout the night which didn't make for a good nights sleep.
Perfect location and lovely inside

Good location and helpful staff, there was a pianist in the evening who was fantastic
Room wast cleaned during our stay and the cost per night was very high
The room was beautiful and the bed was sooo comfortable. The food was lovely and the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.
Close proximity to the centre
Nothing
Beautiful property with great features
Absolutely nothing
Lovely individual style , very comfortable room. Great breakfast
Nothing
Location Reception staff helpful and friendly Bed comfy
Decor, very friendly staff and good location. Good to have a mini fridge and nice touch having mini bottle of milk supplied. Parking across the road very convenient.
Our room was very hot and whilst we turned down the thermostat it had no effect. Would be good to have a proper kettle to make tea and not rely on the espresso machine. Quite pricey for a one night stay with breakfast.
Quirky quiet rooms. Lovely staff. Good breakfast and evening meal. Easy parking and walking distance to the town centre.
The room was darkly decorated and the lighting was poor due to eco bulbs being used. Could only read at night using the light from my phone
Loved the decoration and furnishings in this friendly and welcoming Hotel. Rooms are a very good size, The Hotel is easy to drive to, just on the edge of the town. Parking is directly across the road, sadly Pay and Display, but free overnight so not expensive A good choice of Hot and Cold breakfast, promptly prepared, cooked and delivered. A very short walk into the town. Highly recommended base to explore the delights of the Cotswolds
I am a repeat guest. I think this was my 6th stay. Speaks for itself. I love Ingleside House & the staff are fabulous!
Nothing I don’t like.
Good location. Friendly staff. Very clean . Nicely decorated. Parking right next to the hotel
Maybe lots of stairs , no lift ( although this didn’t affect us but might put off more elderly guests). No air conditioning, room was quite warm in February so would be far worse in the summer months. We had to have the window open and due to its close proximity to a main road it was quite noisy.
Lovely hotel, fabulously decorated with on site restaurant as a bonus - restaurant was on the pricier side but the food was excellent, our room was absolutely lovely - very quiet despite facing the road, we were on the top floor. Very comfy bed, great shower and good facilities in the room. Staff were great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is no lift (for those who might need one) and there are a lot of stairs to upper floor rooms so mention this if you don't like / aren't able to climb a lot. Fabulous hotel and we'll be back.
Good location nice room.
Loud music right under our room - we weren’t aware they had live music that went on late. Breakfast was cold, waitress seemed preoccupied and not very friendly
The Christmas decor
Our bathroom was dirty, our food was terrible I am 5 months pregnant and had to send the prawns back as they were undercooked and the risotto was also freezing cold . Food was sent back twice such a shame as it was our first wedding anniversary!!
Lovely hotel. Fantastic location, staff are friendly and the rooms are gorgeous
I stay away alot for work and this is now my new favourite place to stay whilst travelling around Cirencester /Cheltenham area. Location is great, rooms are absolutely lovely. Radio was playing when I arrived and was shown to my room which was a lovely touch. I would now stay here for leisure aswell as business.
I was worried about parking as there isn't any at the hotel, but there is a very reasonably priced carpark literally opposite on the other side of the road. There was a small issue with my TV in the morning which wasn't a problem as I just popped the radio on whilst getting ready. I have nothing else of a negative nature to say
Beautiful old building only 10 minute walk from the city centre and next door to the lovely Barn Theatre.
The condition of the room was tired and didn’t meet the (price) expectation. One of the bedside lamps didn’t work, soap holder in the shower hanging off, wonky loo roll holder, toilet seat didn’t stay up on its own, peeling paint in the bathroom, no details on wi-fi access or guest services in the room, a strange plate of crumbs under a glass cloche presumably left from the previous guests, and the shower tray’s profile was too low to contain the water flow from the shower. Breakfast was tasty but chaotic… we were told they’d run out of clean mugs which meant waiting for a drink, and food finally arrived after 45 minutes wait. Staff were very lovely but all very young and green… needs some strong leadership putting in place.
The rooms are tastefully decorated with a stylish, modern feel, and the property is conveniently located within walking distance of the city centre, which made getting around really easy. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful—always friendly and ready to assist with anything I needed.
The room itself was quite small, but the main issue was how dusty it was—something that really impacted the experience. To make matters worse, the room wasn’t cleaned the following day, so the dust remained. I was attending a wedding and didn’t have time to speak to staff, but I had assumed housekeeping would take care of it. The pillows were also uncomfortable. They were feather-filled and too thin when using one, yet uncomfortably high when stacking two—so a good night’s sleep was difficult. Another thing I didn’t quite expect was the breakfast system. It had to be ordered from a set menu at the restaurant, rather than being more buffet-style or flexible. That said, the staff were very kind and accommodating, often offering a bit more than the set allowance, which I really appreciated.

Location
Cold in room No real warmth from staff when arrived. No information on hotel. Had to ring for WiFi password. Doenst take cash .
The location was great, decor lovely. Nice coffee machine in the room and had a very comfy bed.
The staff were ok, but not overly helpful in the restaurant specifically, we had booked breakfast as part of our reservation and we had to ask what what included it was as if they were trying to get more money from us I think they should be more aware of the ppl who have breakfast booked. Also we had booked a table to see the entertainment the night before and the service was non existent, they kept saying they will come and take our order and that never happened so had to go to the bar after waiting a long time.
Nothing not to like. Probably not good for people with mobility issues. Rooms all upstairs with no lifts as it’s an old building. Staff fantastic. Hotel, restaurant & theatre. My 6th stay.
Nothing!
Fabulous boutique hotel on the edge of Cirencester. Excellent location for walks and easy access to the town. Parking opposite, easy to find and good value. Lovely hotel with excellent facilities. Also great staff.
Nothing to comment on - it’s a lovely hotel and we had a great stay. Thank you
Beautiful old house
steep stairs to carry a suitcase up
Beautiful rooms and building
Loved all of it.
Room too hot at night though
Our room was amazing, the staff couldn’t do enough for us, the decor is beautiful and the food was yummy.
I loved it all, there is no elevator but that wasn’t a problem for us at all
Lovely looking hotel, decorated beautifully and clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Perfect location for quick walk into town. Good bed.
Very small room despite description stating otherwise, incredibly hot with no air con but even with windows open it was stifling - obviously nothing staff could do about weather but visitors should be aware of this if visiting in warmer months.
Fabulous, well furnished, spacious room. Attractice and comfortable hotel facilities.
Too many stairs to get cases up to the room. Couldnt get into/out of the batch, all age related but would have benefitted from an alternative for more elderly residents. Location good for the theatre, not so good for the town centre.
The location was fantastic and staff all very attentive. The room was spacious and had everything provided that we required for our stay. We were even able to check in earlier than stated.
Nothing everything was great. One suggestion if I was to give any is that the towels and bathrobes looked a little old and not very white... a minor issue and I know they were obviously freshly laundered but with all the other perfect touches I felt theses looked a little grey and worn.
Next to theatre Restaurant manager Food in dining room
Cold & no towels or tea making facilities in room No views from windows due to frosted glass (on to main road?) Kept having to ask for things
Beautifully decorated and staff were very attentive. Food excellent

More like a BnB than a hotel. Clean and reasonably well designed but limited by the structure of the building. Heating controls unclear and TV remote hidden behind the TV. Clicking noise all night and staff in the adjoining service room early in the morning. Friendly staff and nic breakfast. Restaurant fully booked!!
Lovely hotel. Really enjoyed our stay.
Great location. The room was beaten, way beyond expectations.
