We stayed in a huge poolside room, very comfortable. Breakfast of pancakes were some of the best we have eaten. Fabulous pool!

Un alojamiento perfecto para alojarse antes de realizar el safari de Yala. Llegamos alrededor de las 14:00 y el check-in fue rápido y sencillo. El personal fue muy amable en todo momento. La habitación era enorme, igual que el baño, probablemente de las más amplias en las que nos alojamos durante nuestro viaje. La piscina es fantástica para relajarse durante la tarde y descansar antes del madrugón del safari. Además, disponen de servicio de restaurante, por lo que no es necesario desplazarse para comer o cenar. Muy recomendable para quienes visiten la zona.

Pool was great and good value for money.

Features inside the room were very old, bathroom needed updating and there wasn’t anyway to book a shuttle to lions rock through the property.

Very large room - we felt the air conditioning wasn’t sufficient to keep that big a space cool. There was also a fan however so we coped okay!

Sehr weit außerhalb gelegen, aber landschaftlich wunderschön. Geräumiges Zimmer und schönes Bad. Toller Pool mit Blick auf den See und leckeres Essen. Zurückhaltendes aber bei Ansprache hilfsbereites Personal, hat bei gewünschten Unternehmungen unterstützt und Fahrer/Touren organisiert.

The pool and the view from the pool was great! The staff was very nice. They woke up early to make sure we got on our tour safely.

The bathroom had a bad smell. It needed a good cleaning. Even though they moved our room because of a broken AC, the 2nd room's AC did not work well either.

Die Lage am See einfach Klasse. Die Zimmer waren sehr groß.

Excellent room, comfy bed, great breakfast, really good shower and massive bathroom. It is a little bit far from the town but we only stayed 1 night for a safari and if you need a tuk tuk they can arrange for you. We had dinner after safari and it was very good. Definitely stay at this place!

We were there only one night and basically stayed the night for the early morning safari. Property is good with friendly staff. They provided a packed breakfast for safari. Room and bathroom were very large. This is a resort style property. The approach road is a dirt track and is not close to town. All in all a good place to stay. They had arranged a jeep for the safari that picked and dropped us back.

Nothing much to dislike except flies in the common area in the evening. Location as I said is not close to town.

Nothing really, if you are on a limited budget it ll make do but it is akin to an old run down 2 star motel. Also the road leading up to the property… the off roading in nearby Yala park was smoother than this road. Insane.

Staff was pleasant , helpful and for a really decent price they put together some good meals for us Also rooms are big… kinda empty but big. So whatever floats your boat… if you re roughing it backpacking or tuk tuking across the island on a thin budget it’s great… if you re used to some standards for the places you stay in I d give it a wide berth.

Hele ruime en nette kamer. Via het hotel hadden we een safari voor yala geboekt, de chauffeur was heel goed en wilde ons ook wel eerder ophalen, blij mee. Personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Foto's op booking waren heel erg verouderd. Er zat nu een hek tussen het zwembad en het meer, dus geen mooi looppad. En er was achterstallig onderhoud: verzakte tegels bij zwembad en gaten, dus net onze kleine kinderen niet heel fijn.

Amazing big rooms! Beautiful location and swimming pool. The restaurant also has some of the best food we had. They also organised a private safari at a very competitive price (almost same as some other offers we got for shared safaris). They could also receive us very fast as we have booked the room 10 minutes prior to arriving.

We had our own tuktuk so it was fine, but the hotel is a little bit of the beaten track. However, as mentioned food was delicious and you do not necessarily need to leave for a restaurant.

We missed a mini fridge, there is plenty of space to add it to the room. Also, would recommend to clean the ceiling of the bathroom as it is quite mossy

Personnel très agréable et arrangeant, très jolie vue et piscine bienvenue avec des temperatures élevées. La chambre était immense et très propre. Le restaurant est très bon et abordable.

This hotel has a lovely location next to the lake, offering a calm and relaxing atmosphere, perfect before or after a Yala safari. The last 500 meters of the road leading to the property were a bit damaged due to recent heavy rains, so the drive is slightly bumpy, but once you arrive, it’s absolutely worth it. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing plenty of space to relax. The swimming pool is large and well maintained, and the overall surroundings feel very peaceful and close to nature. Breakfast at the restaurant was tasty and enjoyable. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay, which made us feel welcome from the beginning. A fun highlight was a local “poolside friend” — a large monitor lizard that occasionally relaxed near the pool. It didn’t bother us at all; on the contrary, we found it quite amusing and a reminder that we were guests in nature, not the other way around. The location is very convenient for visiting Yala National Park and Kataragama, making this hotel a great base for exploring the area. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to travelers who appreciate space, nature, and a peaceful environment.

Nice location adjoining the lake. Last 500m to the property road was bit damaged due to recent heavy rains. Road is bit bumpy. Spacious and clean room. Tasty breakfast at the restaurant. Good location for Yala Safari and to visit Katharagama.

Het ontvangst van de manager, het heerlijke eten wat hij kon maken zo goed! Locatie was ideaal, vlakbij strand, kamers erg groot en zwembad was top!

The room was large.

The manager of Tara Watergate introduced me to a driver for a group tour of Yala that ended up being a scam, and did not go to Yala national park, despite being charged for the entrance tickets. The manager showed little surprise or remorse when i informed him of my experience. I checked out early as I no longer felt safe staying there as a solo female traveler. Longer story below. I ate dinner at the property the night I arrived. The manager approached me, introducing me to a driver that could provide a tour of Yala national park with a group, at a less expensive rate than the private tour initially offered to me at check-in. I signed up, and was picked up from the hotel the next morning. The tour did not take us to Yala national park, but drove around for 5+ hours on perimeter roads. The guide was openly hostile to our group, cursed, and made disparaging comments to the tour members from Japan and China. After returning from the fraudulent tour, I checked out of the hotel early. I had lost trust in the staff, and did not feel comfortable staying for an additional night as a solo female traveler. The manager showed very little remorse (or surprise) when I informed him of my tour experience. He did refund me (in cash, although I had paid on my credit card) for the hotel night that I left early (but not for the night before, nor offered compensation for the fraudulent tour cost). The manager informed booking.com that I had never checked in, a “no show.” As a result, I needed to directly booking.com to request the ability to write a review. I would not recommend this hotel. My tour group and I filed a police report and files a complaint with the Sri Lankan tourism board.

Le personnel est au petits soins, on nous a préparé un déjeuner et c'était bon, alors que nous sommes arrivés vers 15 h. les chambres sont spacieuses, nous avions vue sur le lac et les jardins. nous n'avons pas testé le PDJ sur place puisque nous sommes partis en safari, mais quelqu'un nous attendait avec des lunch box à 4 h 30 du matin.

un peu isolé au bout d'un chemin cahoteux, plomberie un peu vieillissante.

Кровать была сломанная, запах кондиционера, с третьего напоминания предоставили полотенца. Горячая вода непостоянно шла.

Bassenget var bra og maten var ok. Personalet var hyggelig nok og det var positivt at vi fikk sjekke inn tidligere.

Betalte litt ekstra for ett større rom. Det var ikke verdt det. Det var ingen møbler og du betaler for masse tom plass du ikke trenger. Rommet var skittent og slitt og det luktet heller ikke særlig godt. Det var også en del edderkopper på rommet. Etter 2 min inne på rommet var sokkene mine brune ettersom gulvene ikke var rene. Både håndklær, laken og putetrekk var flekkete og gule. Begge nattbord hadde flekker som gikk an å vaske vekk, hadde de bare prøvd. Jeg valgte å sove med klærne på grunnet flekker på laken og pute. Det var heller ingen dyne, bare ett enkelt laken. Sengen knirket veldig. Det var ikke kjøleskap på rommet og Wi-FI fungerte ekstremt dårlig. Glass og kaffekopper i restauranten var ikke ordentlig rene.

Smuk beliggenhed ud til søen, dog en lidt dårlig vej derud, men det gik ok. Dejligt at man kunne spise på hotellet, lidt langt fra byen. Dog kan der nemt arrangeres transport. Vi havde et meget stort værelse og badeværelse + en dejlig balkon med loungestole. Vi kom tidligere end indtjekningstiden og de skyndte sig at blive færdig med værelset. Poolen dejlig. Liggestolene kunne trænge til en fornyelse. Frokost/aftensmad god. Vi fik morgenmad med på safaritur. Meget venligt personale.

Amazing. Everything was really good. Their service was excellent, and their food was really good. I ordered a salad and fried fish. Both were really good. The view is also excellent.

I think the room isn't soundproof. They should also consider adding a mini fridge to their rooms at least for the most demanding rooms.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, always ready to help. The room was very spacious, and the view was absolutely beautiful.

The access road to the hotel is quite difficult and challenging, and the bed squeaks with every movement, which can be disturbing at night

The hotel’s location is perfect, and the view is amazing. The staff is very friendly and polite, and they were especially helpful in sending me some clothes that I had forgotten there. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

The room and bathroom was huge. We loved the big beds and the friendliness of the staff were exeptional. The food was good.

The way to the hotel could be better. Aldo one washbasin was broken in our room. And the toilet didn't flush well.

The whole property is very nice and well maintained. The rooms are huge and pool is great. There is a lot of beautiful nature souranding the hotel.

The only thing was the road leading to the hotel was unpaved and muddy (about 1km from the main road) But i guess unpaved and muddy roads are common in Sri Lanka ;)

Nos quedamos solo una noche de camino a Tangalle, la piscina estaba muy bien, la habitación cómoda. La verdad ninguna queja, te ponen mosquitero si lo pides y tiene AC que se agradece mucho. El desayuno puedes elegir si srilankes o continental. Todo bueno :) además se puede pagar con tarjeta

Zwembad was echt heel schoon en groot, heerlijk! We hadden een hele ruime kamer en alles was heel schoon.

We waren de enige gasten tijdens ons verblijf, dat maakt het natuurlijk wat lastig om de sfeer te bepalen maar in ons geval was er helemaal geen sfeer. Personeel was in vergelijking met andere accommodaties in Sri Lanka minder vriendelijk.

Onze familiekamer was erg ruim en schoon. Het uitzicht is mooi, zwembad is schoon, er is wel aan alles gedacht. Er was zelfs een baby bedje aanwezig. Ontbijt was goed en je kan er avond eten. We konden zelfs het eten laten bezorgen op de kamer. En een ochtend hadden we een take a way omdat we naar het National Park gingen. Deze dagen dat wij er waren was het zeer rustig. Want er waren geen andere gasten.

- Wij hadden een kamer beneden. Als de gordijnen open waren kon je zo binnen kijken ook naar het bed. Raam folies zou echt een uitvinding zijn voor meer eigen privacy. - Bij het betalen zeiden ze het pin apparaat is kapot, maar het werkte naar behoren.

Het personeel was ontzettend vriendelijk en deed er alles aan om ons verblijf zo prettig mogelijk te maken. Ze deden net dat beetje extra om het ons naar de zin te maken. Het ontbijt en diner waren erg lekker, goed verzorgd en ook nog eens betaalbaar.

WiFi was langzaam en werkte soms niet.
