Une adresse plutôt éloignée de la ville et de ses points d'intérêt bien que la reconnexion nature sont parfaite. Une mise à disposition de bicyclette serait nécessaire

Struttura stupenda con una vista sul lago bellissima. Staff flessibile e molto gentile. Abbiamo cenato in struttura e il loro pollo riso e curry era buonissimo! Il safari allo Yala organizzato dalla struttura é stato meraviglioso!

Skvělý majitel, který nám se vším pomohl, čekal na nás s večeří do pozdního večera. Ubytovaní bylo krásné, s perfektním výhledem, na klidném místě mimo město.

Замечательное место на берегу озера! Тихое, спокойное, красивый вид на воду и белоснежную ступу вдалеке. Птицы летают... Чувствуешь себя прямо как в заповеднике! Никаких шумных соседей, последний дом на улице. Очень внимательный и приветливый персонал, внимательно прислушивались ко всем нашим пожеланиям, помогли с организацией сафари, кормили вкусными завтраками и ужинами.

Пора поменять замки в комнате и в ванной, так как закрываются с трудом, а дверь можно открыть легким пинком ноги. Еще последний километр до отеля нет асфальта (местные власти, ау!), на машине ехать тяжеловато, на тук-туке - более-менее. Ну и немного далеко от центра, если вы не планируете ходить пешком в рестораны и магазины - то ок. Но мы знали об этом, и были согласны.

Beautiful and picturesque location with views onto Lake. Host was very friendly and helpful - he even made sure to get an item back to us which we left behind within moments of our departure. Room was a good size, clean and nicely decorated. Great breakfast.

Was not an issue for us, but worth being aware that the accommodation is at the end of a long bumpy track (however this does mean the property is in a quiet setting away from busy road)

A truly beautiful location, absolutely stunning views over the lake. Very friendly staff who also helped us by arranging a morning safari in Yala National Park. We booked half board which I would recommend as there are limited food options nearby. Very clean room and powerful air conditioning.

The road is long and bumpy but this didn’t cause us any issues, as long as the drivers take it slowly it is fine. No shops nearby but we only stayed one night so wasn’t a problem!

Besonders gut hat mir die Lage gefallen. Direkt an einem See gelegen. Aus meinem Zimmer konnte ich direkt auf den See schauen. Das Personal war super nett und hat abends extra für mich noch etwas gekocht. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls super lecker. Eine Safari wurde organisiert. Alles super!

Absolutely the best nightstay we had in Sri Lanka! Views on the lake are amazing, location is remote and peaceful. We could chill on the terrace and watch birds. The room and bathroom were very clean, the cleanest we had in Sri Lanka. The owner arranged a laundry service for us. I wish we could stay there longer.

Even though they don’t speak English very well the staff was super helpful. Even before I arrived they were already concerned about transportation and arranging us a safari at a fair price. They cooked dinner for us, we could choose anything we wanted, they woke up early in the morning to make sure everything was ready for the safari and even drove us to the next town (all at a fair price). We could even leave the room after hours. The accommodations were nice with a really peaceful view over the lake surrounded by all the sounds of animals. Perfect

The only thing negative is the long way to the accommodation in a road full of bumping holes

The place is right on the lake and its very calm and quite. You can see many different birds from the terrace. The stuff is very friendly and helpfull. Thank you for your hospitality.

We wanted to get dinner but the staff said that it's too late to make dinner reservation from the hotel (although we gave notice as early as 3pm). Instead they ordered food takeaway for us. The food led to an overpriced bill compared to local takeaways. We expected dinner to be at our own leisure but it was alredy arranged without checking with us.Worst of all, photos of us were taken by one of the staff members whilst we were having our food (without our permission) which seemed suspicious. Furthermore, there was a constant smell coming from the bathroom. Highly unprofessional and do not recommend.

Die lage ist ein wenig ausserhalb aber es lohnt sich, man hat eine traumhafte aussicht auf dem see. Sonst ist die Unterkunft einfach aber man hat alles was man braucht und es ist sauber. Das personal ist freundlich und überall wo nötig ist wird geholfen. Abendessen war auch sehr gut.

Wordt uitgebaat door heel lieve mensen. Prachtig uitzicht op het meer. De uitbater kan ook excursies regelen. Wij deden een wandelingetje in de buurt en zagen apen, buffels en varanen. Heel leuke ervaring gehad!

Er zitten wel wat insecten, maar dat is onvermijdelijk als je in die buurt verblijft.

Besonders gut gefallen hat uns die extrem ruhige Lage am See. Man war für sich alleine und konnte die Zeit gut genießen. Wir haben eine Morgensafari im Yala über die Unterkunft gebucht. Hier hat alles reibungslos funktioniert (vom Lunchpaket über die Abholung und Tour innerhalb des Parks, bis hin zur Rückfahrt). Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Die Verarbeitung des Daches war stellenweise verbesserungswürdig. Dadurch hatten wir immer wieder Salamander im Zimmer. Auch das Moskitonetz bedarf einer Reinigung, hier hingen noch etliche tote Mücken im Netz.

Es ist etwas abseits gelegen, aber genau das macht den Unterschied! Wir waren in der off-season dort und hatten die Unterkunft für uns alleine. Zum Frühstück gab es verschiedene frische Obstsorten, Toast und Kaffee/Tee. Die Aussicht auf den See von den hauseigenen Liegen zu beobachten einfach nur entspannend. Ein Ort zum Abschalten und genießen!

Unfassbar schöne Unterkunft mit einem tollen Blick direkt auf den See. Wir konnten aus dem Bett den Sonnenaufgang über dem See sehen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und ruhig.

The place is beautiful; you can enjoy amazing views from the terrace. It’s peaceful and far from the noisy area. We booked a safari with the host and it was fantastic. The driver, Kasun, was the best—very skilled and with a great eye for spotting animals. We even got to see a leopard up close, which is really rare. No doubt he loves his job and puts great effort. We highly recommend arranging the safari with them.

The sink wouldn’t drain, but everything else in the bathroom was fine. They offered us a sandwich before the safari, with nothing more than one egg inside, and charged us 1900 LKR

We weren't there for long, we arrived at 20:00 and left the next day, we were in a cottage where we didn't have airco and we didn't sleep at all the night before, so booked this last minute to sleep with an airco, the sleep was perfect!

Lots of mosquitos in bathroom, far away from the town. Food is very basic.

Noi abbiamo usato la struttura come base per il safari ed è stata un buona scelta. La strada per arrivare alla struttura è un po' dissestata.

Just me and my girlfriend staying at the property. The staff were lovely, and it was like a bit of a homestay experience. They helped us boom a safari for the next morning too.

L’accoglienza da parte dello staff è stata calorosa e professionale siamo arrivati verso le 8 di sera ci hanno accolto con un bel cocco fresco e un ottima cena. La camera era spaziosa, pulita e molto confortevole, con una vista mozzafiato sul lago. Posizione perfetta per chi volesse fare il safari a Yala, con possibilità di organizzarlo con la struttura ve lo consiglio!!. colazione al sacco per chi fa il safari. Struttura consigliatissima, non vedo l’ora di tornare!

View from room is expansive and the location is beautifully quiet.

The shower didn’t get hot.

I absolutely loved my stay here. It’s one of those places that you won’t forget - the staff were so kind and lovely and just made us feel some welcome. I loved looking out to the lake and seeing the beautiful scenery and catching sight of eagles and kingfishers nearby. We had dinner and I enjoyed the coconut soup! Thank you again to the lovely staff, waking up when we went to safari early, helping us with bags and just being so lovely!

We wished we stayed longer as we only stayed for one night for the safari!

Camera bellissima con balcone e vista lago. Ottima pulizia della camera. Al nostro arrivo siamo stati accolti dal personale con un King coconut apprezzatissimo. Personale super disponibile e sempre sorridente. Lo consiglio fortemente, anche considerando che hotel vicini offrono le stesse cose a prezzi molto più elevati. Offrono servizio di cena a buon prezzo. Colazione ottima!

Beautiful location, right on the lake, with loads of lake wildlife visible from your window. Super comfy and clean beds with brilliant air conditioning. The fruit in the takeaway breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very accommodating when it came to checkout, as our safari was running late.

The road to get there is pretty precarious, but quite honestly worth it!

We had an amazing stay at the lake view cottage. What an perfect location! Upul, the manager and cook, was helpful and attentive. He made sure we were taken care of. Our room was clean with a breath taking view. In the morning Upul made us the best breakfast and in the evening he showed his cooking skills again. We had the pleasure of enjoying some of his excellent Sri Lankan curry’s. We rate this lodge definitely a 10 out of 10 Nothing missed during our stay! The experience was enjoyable and exceeded every expectation!

We arrived to fresh coconuts and great hospitality! The room had good AC, hot water and a great view of the lake. A bit out of the way but the owner helped provide tuktuk. Yummy breakfast!

The location is stunning, the bed, bedding and towels were all good and very clean. They organised a safari for us which was very good.

We had room 3 which was on 1st floor and had an outside terrace. The stairs up to the room overlooked the garbage area which was disgusting. The room and the terrace hadn’t been properly cleaned/ washed down as it was very grubby and there were ants everywhere. The floor tiles in the dining area are also badly cracked. When we came to pay the bill he wanted an extra 3.5% for using a card machine, but it said all fees and charges are included in the room rate on booking.com. It’s a shame really because it had lots of potential.

Great room overlooking the lake from our bed. Birdwatching from the comfort of your room. They organised Safari tours to Yala, Bundala and around Tissa Lake, all of which were excellent with knowledgeable guides who went the extra mile, making it a memorable stay.

Even the heavy rain couldn’t dampen our spirits.

Bathrooms are not properly maintained. Break fast options for vegetarians were very less. Mostly bread, Sri Lanka roti jam and butter .

Fantastic View and nice staff

The room was perfect for a one night stay before a trip to Yala National Park for the Safari. Staff were even prepared for the Safari and pre-packed us a breakfast to take with us on the trip. Staff were also very helpful and friendly. The place also had an amazing view of the lake and the sunset. The shower was also really good compared to some other places we stayed.

The door was hard to open and slightly broken and the room and facilities were fairly basic, but besides that a good one night stay.

We spent 5 amazing days at Lake View Cottage and loved every moment! The hotel is right by the lake, with beautiful views of green meadows, water buffaloes, and lots of birds. The area is surrounded by rice fields and huge banana plantations. Our room was spacious, with a large terrace perfect for enjoying the views. The shower had good hot water pressure. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and every morning we enjoyed fresh coconut juice. The host and his kid were super friendly and made us feel at home. We also booked through the hotel a tour to Bundala Bird Park. Our guide, Kasun showed us so many birds and even helped us spot three crocodiles! To my mind this hotel is a very good choice in terms of price-quality. We hope to come back next year for a longer stay.

The view of the lake is amazing, it’s very peaceful. The owner and his kid were very kind and helpful. The room was clean and got everything needed.

Staff tried to be as helpful as possible but did not speak a lot of English. The view of lake was good. It was a very quiet place

The room was very badly lit. It was very dim inside and we had to sit in the dining area at night to be able to read or do anything. This wasn’t too comfortable as it was totally open towards the lake and so many mosquitoes were around making it very uncomfortable. The door to our room was faulty and difficult to lock The sink tap in bathroom did not work well at all. The bed was ok and had a mosquito net but pillows were huge & hard. Lots of mosquitoes around at night & despite using the net at night we were bitten quite a bit. Breakfast quite basic but staff were polite and as helpful as they could be.

We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting Yala National Park and had a great experience. The hosts were very welcoming and offered us some refreshing coconuts when we arrived. The rooms were clean and had all the facilities needed. The lake views and surroundings were also incredible. This place offers dinners cooked by the host, which was perfect after returning from the safari. The breakfast is also cooked by the host, with a fresh selection of fruit, bread and omelettes. This place also offers other services like taxis and safari tours.

Well maintained property, super clean, excellent choices for those who are looking for a silence and nature.

It is far from the city, not a walking distance, tuk tuk is the only option to get to the centre. No shops or restaurants in the nearest neighbourhood.

- Last 1km to the cottage is bumpy as the road is not yet paved - Some sort of a generator is on site and is pretty loud throughout the night (electricity?)

We stayed for a couple of nights. Ubul was very welcoming, and the food was yummy. Great place with an amazing view. Excellent value for money.

As the name suggests the lake view. It’s directly located at the lake and you have a wonderful view over it. The staff is a one-man-show, but he’s really kind. He prepared a breakfast to go for our safari at 4 am!

It’s long way into town, so be aware of that for dinner etc.

The location is amazing, breathtaking views of the lake, especially at sunrise and sunset. The bed is comfortable and the room is spacious. Good breakfast and nice meals too. The gentleman at the property doesn't speak very good English but we managed to understand each other most of the time, and he was always nice and ready to help.

The bathroom is okay, the shower could be a little more powerful and a mop would be useful to avoid sleepy floors after the shower. Also the tap in the bathroom sink needs repairing as it spills water everywhere. Finally I would recommend applying a tinted cover on the windows so that one can enjoy the views from the bed without other people seeing them from the outside if walking by.

This is the perfect option if you need a hotel in a quiet, secluded location. Beautiful views, absolute silence. The owner of the hotel is a very nice, polite person. Taking care of the comfort of guests, organized a good lake tour by boat and a beautiful safari in Yala Park. This comfortable, air-conditioned room features pleasant décor. There was only a pleasant experience of this place.

TV not in the room

It is a small structure with few rooms. it is managed very well by the staff who proved available to any request. we stayed with half board (breakfast and dinner), everything excellent. the lake view is priceless!

Wonderful location The cottage is situated in front of the lake. We saw a wild crocodile in the distance as well as some rabbits. The room was large, with a good function AC. The shower had extremely good hot water. The food is reasonably priced and nothing is ever “out of stock”, because the chef/owner will go to supermarket to get ingredients. Truly appreciated this. They also arranged the Safari tour it was amazing . Highly reccomended place

Very nice! We stayed one night there before going to Safari in Yala. The person was super nice and friendly! We loved our welcome drink. AC and hot water were working well. We did not arrive early and could not enjoy the lake & outside but it was looking very nice! So it is a good place to stay if you are planning to go for a safari.
