Alles dit was echt de mooiste locatie, super hoge service en mega goed en lekker eten. Wat een cadeau om hier te mogen verblijven.

Beautiful hotel nestled in nature, with a truly unique feel. The small, beautifully designed rooms are tucked away among the jungle, creating a wonderful sense of privacy and tranquillity. We loved the style of the rooms and the atmosphere of the whole place—it felt like a real oasis of calm. You’re completely surrounded by wildlife, from showering alongside fireflies to the occasional visit from curious monkeys! The team were incredibly helpful and welcoming, making our stay feel especially pleasant and relaxed. A very special place that we would happily return to.

You are in nature - so there are bugs about. Wasn't a negative for us - we travelled at the end of the monsoon so a fair few mosquitos about but team were helpful lighting incense and providing nets to keep them away.

Everything it is a paradise surrounded by nature, service is perfect and outstanding. Super clean accurate design, really a dream!

We hebben enorm genoten van deze prachtige locatie. De kamer is van alle gemakken voorzien en prachtig ingericht. De buiten badkamer is een leuke ervaring. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en helpen graag. Beste mojito van de vakantie gedronken aan het zwembad.

De prachtige jungletuin met wilde dieren, mooi ingerichte, ruime kamer. Heerlijk eten en goede koffie! Vriendelijke mensen.

Je wordt ontvangen op een fantastische locatie met een zéér hartelijk welkom. Het hotel voelt direct als thuiskomen. Ook de kamers zijn mooi ingericht en voorzien van alle comfort. We kwamen toe voor inchecktijd, maar toch werd er tijdelijk een kamer voorzien tot onze kamer beschikbaar was. Het personeel is ten alle tijde beschikbaar om jou een fijne tijd te bezorgen. Een prachtige afsluiter van onze reis doorheen Sri Lanka.

What a wonderful oasis of calm. The pool was beautiful, the food amazing and the communal areas so relaxing. We were disappointed to only have one night here. The staff were so welcoming and helpful it felt we were treated like royalty. The monkeys in the garden were an added bonus

Echt alles! Dit is een verstopt pareltje wat boven onze verwachtingen was. Alles was tot in de kleinste details geregeld. We waren hier twee nachten maar het voelde als een maand. Echt fantastisch!

Oh, I hate to think that this wonderful place will become too popular and that I may not be able to stay again! However, it is without a doubt the most memorable hotel that we have ever stayed at. Tucked away in the jungle just outside Galle, it is an astonishing place - small, beautifully thought out and incredibly friendly. The owner (Indika) and his team cannot do enough for you, and the desire to please is entirely genuine. It is not some effort at doing it right, it is totally successful. Indika has a greats ense of style, whilst keeping the place functiinal, down to the last detail. The lovely rooms have outside (and very private) bathrooms. They are air-conditioned and also have fans over the beds. The pool is surrounded by trees and there are lizards and monkeys to keep you entertained. The food was the best we have had in Sri Lanka over the past two weeks, and that is saying something considering how good it has been generally. The photos do not really do it justice. Just leave room for us next time we come! 😉

Leaving after three days. That made all three of us quite sad. There is no fridge in the room, but there is none in the bar which can be used by guests.

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft inmitten des angrenzenden Dschungels. Die gesamte Anlage ist traumhaft gelegen und bietet ein ganz besonderes Naturerlebnis. So kommt es vor, dass man direkt vom Bungalow aus Affen in den Bäumen beobachten kann, und auch Warane statten gelegentlich einen Besuch ab – absolut außergewöhnlich! Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die offenen Badezimmer unter freiem Himmel verleihen dem Aufenthalt ein ganz besonderes Flair. Das Personal war während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Auch das Essen hat uns sehr überzeugt. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die direkte Lage am Fluss. Von hier aus kann eine Bootssafari gestartet werden, die wir nur empfehlen können und die für uns ein echtes Erlebnis war. Insgesamt eine außergewöhnliche Unterkunft, die wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen können.

You do have to get a tuk tuk or car to travel back & forth to the Fort. But we found restaurants closer to us & also used the resort as a great place to rest.

We booked the Deluxe Suite Rice Paddy, and it was one of the best stays we have ever experienced. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally spacious. Although the narrow access road through the neighborhood might give a different first impression, the property itself is a tranquil oasis nestled beside a branch of the Gin Ganga, surrounded by lush greenery and abundant wildlife. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food and beverages were outstanding, offering excellent value for money, with generous portions and delicious flavors. After 12 years in service, maintaining a 9.9 rating on Booking.com speaks volumes about the quality and consistency of the experience. Highly recommended and LGBTQ-friendly.

A fantastic stay at Ginganga Lodge. The riverside setting is peaceful and beautiful, offering the perfect place to relax while still being close to local attractions and Galle. The staff were incredibly welcoming with owner Indika helping out each day, the food was excellent, and the accommodation was lovely and well maintained. A wonderful retreat and one we would happily recommend.

Ginganga lodge is an incredibly beautiful gem of an accommodation located in/near a forest - we loved every moment of our stay there, from the highly attentive and kind staff to the beautiful suite we stayed in which was well furnished, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. One of those rare places that feels peaceful, secluded, and incredibly special from the moment you arrive. We loved every single moment of our stay there. Although the lodge is tucked away from the main Galle area, the distance honestly was not an issue at all. They provide a paid tuk tuk service into Galle Fort (and I’m sure other areas if required) whenever needed, which made getting around very convenient. What stood out to us even more was how humble and hands-on the owner was - he personally drove us around in the tuk tuk at one point, and we only realised much later that he was actually the owner. The food was delicious, the pool was incredibly refreshing after a day out, and the overall service was top-notch from start to finish. The entire place has such a calm, intimate atmosphere that makes it very difficult to leave. (Also, special mention to their dogs, who were absolutely adorable and so friendly).

Like a beautiful oasis in Galle, the staff was fabulous, the breakfast was spectacular. The room and pool were just gorgeous. One day I didn’t leave the hotel as it had such a relaxed vibe hanging by the pool. Only a short Tuk tuk ride to the fort.

Ein wunderschöner, mysthischer Ort, den wir auf unserer SriLanka Reise in der Form nicht noch einmal so hatten: man fühlt sich wie im Dschungel, Affen klettern durch die Bäume, abends sind die Flughunde zu sehen. Wunderschön gestaltete und gepflegte Anlage mit Designermöbeln, die perfekt in die lokale Umgebung eingefügt sind. Leckeres Essen und toller Pool. Es gab immer Wasser zum Auffüllen und Schutz gegen die Mücken. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Etwas außerhalb, aber das nimmt man gerne in Kauf. Außentoilette sollte einen nicht stören.

Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel à Ginganga Lodge. Tout d’abord la beauté des lieux, au milieu de la jungle un petit coin de paradis. Tout est bien pensé et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. La literie était aussi très bien, les petits déjeuners et le dîner le soir délicieux. Ce lieu est parfait pour prendre du temps pour soit, ralentir et profiter de la nature. Et pour finir un grand grand merci à l’équipe sur place qui est au petit soin tout au long du séjour. Cela fait vraiment la différence et rend le séjour unique équivalent à une expérience dans un hôtel 5 étoile. Je vous recommande alors de séjourner dans ce lieu à minima deux nuits pour en profiter au maximum. Encore un grand merci à toute l’équipe sur place :)

We loved this place. From the beautiful location, the gorgeous interior design, the privacy of the rooms to the food and friendly staff. Monkeys in the trees while showering in the outside bathroom and the Tranquil pool area. Wish we had booked a longer stay but we had to leave after only one night.

We loved absolutely everything about Ginganga Lodge! We loved the way the staff looked after us and their impeccable service, the delicious meals and attention to deal with each one, the beautiful surroundings - natural sounds, abundance of wildlife and pretty gardens, the relaxing and very clean pool, the very well designed and decorated rooms, and just the overall feel of the place. Truly felt like we were on holiday and the staff just thought of everything. Appreciated the way they were constantly cleaning up little things and making the place spotless - even around the poolside! It was divine. Can't speak highly enough of this place. We will 100% be coming back.

Die Unterkunft liegt mitten im Dschungel und schmiegt sich perfekt in die Umgebung. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und dauerhaft bemüht den höchsten Komfort zu bieten. Täglich wird frisch gewischt und abends das Bett mit Moskito-Netzen zum Schlafen vorbereitet. Das Essen in der Unterkunft, insbesondere das Frühstück ist umfangreich und sehr schmackhaft.

Deze plek is bijna een sprookje midden in de jungle. Wat een prachtig kamer hadden we.zo stijlvol ingericht en met liefde.ook de buiten tuin met al die prachtige vogels en aapjes.het eten was heerlijk van curry tot een sandwich. Dit is echt het mooiste wat we gezien tijds onze reis. De eigenaar en zijn personeel zijn zo vriendelijk. Je moet hier gewoon zijn geweest. Je voelt de rust van deze plek. Het kon niet beter. Dank jullie allemaal.

Nou ik denk dat onze dagen op de malediven nu gaan tegen vallen. Niks is hier tegengevallen.

La douche ouverte sur l’extérieur est plus propice à l’entrée des insectes mais c’est le parti prix d’avoir une douche qui donne sur l’extérieur, pas vraiment un point négatif en soit.

A truly exceptional escape. Separate bungalows set in the jungle with a beautiful pool and covered outdoor restaurant. Decorated throughout with unique antiques. Close to Galle it is both remote and very civilised. Amazing attentive staff and delicious food. We took an early morning boat trip on the river there which was such a peaceful way to enjoy nature. Also, very good value for money.

Wonderful retreat that feels like being right in a jungle oasis. The staff is super friendly and helpful! The food is top class, the rooms are very nice designed and big with a cool open air shower. Outside pool area feels also very cozy. All in all this feels like a luxury experience for a very fair price - fully recommend!

L'établissement est situé dans un emplacement calme , verdoyant, reposant. La décoration des chambres est minutieuse, raffinée, magnifique. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux, équilibrés, avec une présentation détaillée, colorée.

Quelques détails : il n'y avait pas de réfrigérateur dans la chambre ,ni bouteille d'eau minérale d'accueil (de l'eau était mise dans deux bouteilles en verre non cachetées ,non fraîches, ce qui dénote avec les prestations raffinées de l'établissement). Notre climatisation fonctionnait mal , il a fallu programmer la température à 18°pour avoir un peu de fraîcheur et elle était très bruyante.

De ligging aan overgebleven jungle met apen, mooie vogels, leguanen, eekhoorns etc. Je hebt echt het idee dat je op een bijzondere plek bent. De apen springen van boom tot boom boven je hoofd terwijl je aan het douchen bent. Iedere ochtend 2 hele mooie gekleurde vogeltjes die zichzelf in de badkamer spiegel bewonderen De decoraties die overal staan ( jammer dat je ze niet kan kopen) De kamer die bij inchecken versierd is met mooi blad en bloemetjes. Mooi zwembad wat ook echt verfrissend is. Het lekkere verse en kleurrijke ontbijt De twee lieve hondjes Sheba en Rexxi We hebben 1 nacht de standaard kamer gehad deze hadden we op het laatste moment nog geboekt omdat we de reis iets hadden aangepast en daarna 6 nachten de luxe kamer. Als ik eerlijk ben vond ik de standaard kamer fijner. Deze had ook een buiten badkamer maar toch iets minder buiten en grenst net iets minder aan de jungle met alle voordelen wat mij betreft.

Het vegen van blaadjes en bloemetjes die uit de bomen rondom het zwembad op de grond vielen. Super overdreven om dit de hele dag door te doen. Je zit in de natuur, als dit 3 of 4 keer per dag gedaan wordt is dat prima. Dat er om 17.45 aan je deur van je huisje wordt geklopt terwijl je net even lekker op je bed ligt te genieten van de airco, met de vraag of je ‘s avonds komt eten en of je vast een keuze uit de menu kaart wil maken en hoe laat je wil eten “ we hebben vakantie “ we zien wel. Na 2 keer zijn ze er wel mee gestopt op aangeven van ons dat we dat niet prettig vonden. In de luxe kamer die een grote buiten badkamer heeft die aan de jungle grenst met alle gevolgen: grote Huntsman spinnen (niet de fout van het hotel maar ik ben bang voor spinnen) 2 waren er achter mijn douche schuim gaan zitten en 1 keer ‘s avonds laat op de muur bij de wastafel.

Wat een heerlijke plek in Sri Lanka. Je wordt in de watten gelegd. Het is een plek waar ze zoveel mogelijk natuurlijke materialen gebruiken en zo min mogelijk plastic. Geen plastic waterflessen, maar wel gefilterd water tot je beschikking.

GinGanga Lodge is an exceptional place to stay. The surroundings are beautiful and the staff extremely helpful. They have allowed us to stay on when our flights were cancelled. Each room is decorated with amazing artefacts and the swimming pool is perfect. Excellent breakfast I can’t praise this place enough

This was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. The place is absolutely beautiful and much closer to a 5* experience than 4*. The food was amazing, so much that we decided to have an (inexpensive) cookery class with the chef. What really stands out though is the staff and team as a whole. They really care and can't do enough for you, and clearly enjoy their job. Our room was huge and stunning. Location is great, a short tuk tuk to Galle or the beach. Really can't recommend this oasis enough and we will definitely return!
