Atremaru Jungle Retreat

This place is an absolute dream! It felt like stepping straight into a Pinterest board. We had a marvelous view of the jungle, the beach, and the mountains in the background. The apartment was huge, as was our beautiful veranda with its comfortable hammocks. A jungle trail was directly next door, and the staff was extremely kind. All of this, combined with the great vegan food options at the restaurant, made our stay unforgettable. I will definitely come back!

Excellent location, well designed

Incredible to be immersed in nature within the Palawan jungle. The room was beautiful and spacious and staff very friendly. We really liked that the resort focuses on environmental and community sustainability, employing local indigenous people and being eco conscious.

It wasn't that we didn't like the food but we felt that the main thing that could have improved the experience was higher quality food from the restaurant.

Die Lage der Bungalows mitten im Dschungel. Der eigene Strand und das hilfsbereite und freundliche Personal.

Ohne Klimaanlage war es sehr warm. Die Portionen im Restaurant waren viel zu klein. Für die Preise bekommt man wo anders die doppelte Portion. Leider auch nichts anderes zu Fuß erreichbar. Generell braucht man einen Roller (kann in Unterkunft gebucht werden) um andere Orte zu erreichen. Is aber auch irgendwie der Sinn eines Retreat ;)

Swimming pool & evening meal. Rooms are spacious and quirky. The private tour to the underground river was excellent and we got there early due to the close proximity to the hotel.

Beautiful place with an awesome view of the sea between the jungle trees. Very chill place rich of add on activities around. Since the resort is very isolated from nearest town we always eat at the restaurant and was pretty good. Atmosphere always super! Also the private beach at 20mins walk into a real jungle is a little paradise. No worries about no AC in the rooms since there are fans and is generally OK. We have been there at the end of March. All rooms are well protected by mosquitos nets. Hope to come back soon!

It was okay. Our first room was a bit odd but the smaller room for 2 people was nice. It was a bit quiet with not much of a vibe.

- wirklich schöne Anlage mitten im Dschungel - wir hatten den Bungalow Rambutan, dieser hatte eine gigantische Aussicht. Morgens kam eine Affenhorde direkt an unserer Terrasse vorbei. - der fußläufig erreichbare Strand (ca. 20 min) ist sehr schön. - Das Abendessen ist lecker, das Frühstück ist ausbaufähig - Gratis Kaffee und Wasser auf dem Zimmer

- die Anlage ist nichts für Fußkranke, die Bunkalows sind an einen sehr steilen Berg gebaut - Viele Lebensmittel waren bei unserem Aufenthalt aus - den Dschungelwalk kann man sich sparen. Er besteht aus angelegten Treppen und führt wieder in die Anlage zurück.

Er was weinig licht in de slaapkamer. Veel heuvels om op te lopen naar je kamer. Weinig sfeer in het restaurant en de bar. Donkere kleuren bruin zijn niet gezellig. Alles was er maar wij werden er depressief.

Absolutely stunning property that lets you really enjoy the serenity of nature. The staff is absolutely wonderful and really prioritize your comfort!

The only issue was weak water pressure which is somewhat to be expected.

Very good location in the jungle. Although some bungalows are closer to the road, there is minimal traffic in the evening and overnight. The resort can arrange trips and guide services. The jungle walk and the path to the beach directly from the resort are pleasant bonuses if you want to go on a short hike.

I have never been in such a secluded place, so I enjoyed 100% the surrounding nature, the sounds of the birds and the animals, the overall quietness and the lovely and kind staff who did everything they could to make our stay super pleasurable <3

I liked everything, but be aware that it gets very quiet, especially at night, so you need to either enjoy the karaoke by yourself or engage with chit chat with the staff to keep yourself company! I feel like the jungle walk and the way towards the coast can be a bit daunting for these reasons too. It would be great to have fitness classes or yoga classes in the nature happening every day or that you can book last minute (if you wanna book one of their tours, remember to reserve your spot early!)

Super accueil du personnel, toujours souriant à l’accueil et au restaurant.

Notre chambre familiale était TRÈS bruyante la nuit (passage voitures, motos) car située près de la route, pas exactement ce que nous attendions d’un endroit aussi “paisible” et pas de possibilités de changer de chambre… dommage ça gâche vraiment l’ensemble. Pas d’eau chaude mais nous le savions au départ par contre pas du tout d’eau le matin du second jour…

As a nature lover, this is exactly the kind of place I was looking for – stylish, comfortable, charming, and close to nature. It matches the description perfectly. I wholeheartedly recommend it! :)

Beautiful surroundings in the middle of rainforest. Rooms are very large but a bit worn out. Please note it is located in the middle of nowhere so own car helps a lot. Visit nearby Hundred Caves - excelent experience.

Lack of AC could be problematic, especially in the room located beneath the sun terrace by the pool. The bathroom has got only partial walls separating from the room, so you can feel and smell everything from the bathroom. The food portions in the restaurant are the smallest I have ever seen (and the prices are not small). Many times lack of some dishes. Missing mango in south-east Asia is embarrassing. Staff is really nice but I think something is wrong with managing.

Quiet, peaceful, real jungle retreat. Our room was huge and beds were comfortable. Their traditional Filipino breakfast was delicious. Waking up to the sound of birds was a bliss. I was not bothered by the fact that all rooms and villas are on a hill. I actually liked it. We had an ocean view.

I think the place had its glamour long time ago. It is now fading with some areas not maintained at all. This doesn't impact the room quality at all. Just the general vibe. There was barely any warm water but I think it's an issue across the island.

Ontbijt minimaal en diner niet goed alles uit de vriezer en nauwelijks iets vers te krijgen porties te klein. Zonder airco soms niet te doen.

The setting and style of the accommodation blew us away after our more budget-friendly stays. To have two bedrooms, a lounge and terrace was incredible and we lived the views and hearing nature all around us. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

This is a specialised jungle resort but we found the location to be too remote for us. It's great if you just want to relax in the resort, organise tours or have your own transport.

Hôtel vieillissant dont le rapport qualité -prix n’est pas satisfaisant. Les serviettes éponges sont vieilles et tachées , la piscine est tournée…la salle de bain n’est pas avenante, des troncs d’arbres étaient abandonnés proche de notre hébergement. Dommage car le site et le personnel sont chouettes.

The food could be improved

Onsite restaurant though expensive. Big campus but very sloppy and many trees and plants.

Basic Amenities, Average Breakfast, Expensive food, Broken water line and shower. Not value for money!

We fell in love with this place and kept extending our stay. All staff should be commended, especially Ms Novie at the reception. The minor limitations that come with the concept of an ecologically run hotel did bot bother us at all.

In the standard room the fan was much too loud to keep on at night, should be replaced with a quiet one.

Compliqué se rendre et repartir.

Location meravigliosa, perfetto se vuoi staccare per un paio di giorni dal caos dei villaggi, cani randagi e vuoi stare immerso nel verde, circondato dal suono degli uccelli. Una pace! Questa è stata l’ ultima tappa delle nostre vacanze ed è stata la scelta migliore; utilizzata per andare a sabang e la struttura stessa organizza il tour quindi super comodo e in più abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di rilassarci il resto del tempo dopo giorni frenetici. La struttura mette a disposizione una bella piscina, una giungla visitabile attraverso un percorso ( attenzione é impervio; il meteo era a nostro favore ma in caso di pioggia lo sconsiglio altamente), la spiaggia dista una mezz’ora a piedi. É presente acqua calda in bagno quindi direi che, viste le recensioni precedenti, le cose sono cambiate. Questo è l’unico posto dove abbiamo bevuto l’acqua non imbottigliata e siamo stati benissimo. É buona e su richiesta te la forniscono in maniera illimitata anche per la stanza. Al ristorante vi consigliamo di prendere tutti gli antipasti, comunque il cibo è il linea con gli standard filippini. Il personale è la chicca del posto. Estremamente cordiale e disponibile.

Noi siamo stati fortunati ad aver avuto la prima casa quindi abbiamo dato poca salita ma se si è un po’ più sfortunati la struttura è su una collinetta quindi bisogna fare una salita leggermente ripida per accedere alle aree comuni

Very green large grounds with great views, perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle for a few days. Breakfast was modest, living conditions are spartan, and the shower water is cold.

La struttura si trova nella foresta, é perfetta per rilassarsi e fare la visita all’Underground River.

Dovrebbero incrementare i servizi ed essere più propositivi per quanto riguarda le visite. Per l’Underground River ci hanno detto che non avevano più posti per il giorno successivo e abbiamo dovuto trovare una soluzione autonomamente. Quindi nel caso chiedete appena arrivate.

Exactly what the doctor ordered, we completely switched off whilst staying here. Despite being in the jungle (surrounded by the sounds of the jungle so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper) there were no mosquitos so we were able to fully utilise our outdoor lounge overlooking the jungle at sunset. We did the half day city tour, the firefly tour and the underground river tour. We fully recommend Wilson as the tour guide who is extremely knowledgeable and ensured zero wait times at the attractions (he has contacts everywhere!)

The water pressure in the showers could've been better, but we were just impressed to have hot water at all in the jungle

Angenehm ruhig und schöne Lage. Das Restaurant ist auch lecker. Ausgezeichnet WLAN auf dem Zimmer.

Man muss ziemlich gut zu Fuß sein, um die eigene Hütte zu erreichen (wir hatten die, die am weitesten entfernt war), und der Aufstieg dauert lang, denn die Anlage ist am Hang gelegen (dafür toller Ausblick!). Es gibt viele Mücken, die trotz Mückengittern vor den Fenstern reinkommen (die Löcher in den Gittern sind zu groß). Cocktails an der Bar waren leider furchtbar.

After the payment went through the send me a WhatsApp regarding there policy, which is not in there booking information. There is no AC , no hot water, very low shower pressure, bad food, the restaurant is cheap, but the food is overcooked or undercooked, the waiters give you a feeling like there scared of you, and can barely understand them. We stayed 1 night in a family room cause they didn't have a better room , which was terrible, tiny toilet, full of spiders, and every thing I said at start. Then the "better room" came along, which looked ok at start , but was much worst! Full of ants that keept us up all night cause of there bites, bad bugs, spiders.. You can't even take a toilet paper without cleaning it from ants. We woke up at 2am and after seeing every thing we just packed our bags , which took an hour to make sure its clean , and waited for the reception to arrive. We didn't had any drinks or food in our things. When we lifted the mattress we saw tons of spiders web. Feels like they didn't even change the bed linens before, and the towels feel dry and years old.. This is not what we had in mind when we saw the reviews and the 8.6 grade from booking. Not the way we wanted to finish our honeymoon.

I liked the concept. The villas were thoughtfully appointed and visually beautiful. The surrounding jungle with all its atmosphere was fabulous. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

I feel like a little more could have been done for the comfort and needs of the guest. I realize it's eco friendly but we never had hot water once. The mattresses were hard to my taste with pain in my hips waking me up through the night. The food was good but the choices were extremely limited. Again I realize the distance to a store, but being out of something as basic as butter for more than a few hours is really not ok as such it was two days I think. Dry toast is not preferred. I was also very surprised to be charged for refills of my morning coffee. I also wanted to point out that no description of the property on Booking.com indicated the steep walkways and stairs throughout the property. It seems for some people it could be an important factor in their decision of where to stay. In fairness, i did not point any of this out during our stay. Remote jungle vibes, rooms were well designed. Woke up to a gorgeous view of the water. Staff are friendly and can organize shuttles and tours on your behalf which is very helpful and removes the headache of self-coordinating. We found wifi was available and reliable throughout.

Our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay despite our request (as cleaning is optional), as the shower would flood the bathroom and the water lingered overnight. Restaurant staff were, like all staff, very friendly - but service was very slow (for example: we scheduled breakfast for 7am but waited until 7:45 to be served). The resort could use a little more ambiance - there was no music at the bar or during massages which left something feeling a little “off”, but I suppose they’re leaning into the quiet of nature.

Jättecoolt ställe. Vi bodde en natt i samband med en tur till Underground River. Rummet var fint, poolen fin. Personal väldigt hjälpsam och ordnade med vår utflykt. Omgivningarna jättefina. Maten var sådär och ganska dyr.

Maten var dyr för vad man fick och inte jättegod.

Friendly and helpful staff. Property was clean and well maintained-beautiful landscaping. Room cleaned when arrived and satisfactorily cleaned upon request. Extra services requested were accommodated including a tour to the underground river. (The starting point for the tour is only a 20min drive and if you happen to get Wilson as your tour guide consider yourself lucky.)

Travel to and from the hotel largely falls on the guest to organize.

Au fond, l'océan... que l'on peut atteindre après un parcours un peu aventureux à travers la forêt. Le réveil au son des cigales et geckos Un restaurant qui propose une grande variété d'excellents plats locaux - et autres. Un staff accueillant, souriant et réactif. La possibilité de participer à des excursions en groupe ou organisées à la demande pour découvrir les merveilles naturelles de la région : mangrove, rivière sous-terraine, ..... L'ATREMARU JUNGLE RETREAT porte bien son nom : une immersion totale extraordinaire !!

Prachtig uitzicht, mooi opgezet midden in de jungle. Bijzondere lostaande accomodaties. Tip: huur een brommer en ga zelf naar the Underground River.

Je bent afhankelijk, bijvoorbeeld eten/drinken, van het resort omdat het afgelegen ligt. Confortabele ligstoelen bij het zwenbad ontbreken, dat was echt jammer.

We could not believe our eyes when we first arrived - so beautiful, looks like a perfect scene from a movie! Perched among the treetops with views of the ocean, it was the perfect place to relax. The resort is amazing, food was good, pool was lovely and clean, pool table was an added bonus. The rooms were spacious and clean and we absolutely loved over chilling out upstairs in the open air lounge. The staff are friendly and can book excursions etc. The underground river is only 20 mins away.

В целом все хорошо и прекрасная идея с концепцией отеля. Номер просторный и вид потрясающий. Хороший завтрак.

Все несколько устарело. Концепция хорошая, но реализация кажется из прошлого века. Вместо кондиционеров стоят вентиляторы и нет, они не охлаждают номер как заявлено в описании. Ссылка на какую-то экологичную концепцию вызывает большое сомнение, современные кондиционеры потребляют гораздо меньше электричества и без сомнения не наносят вреда природе. Приехали поздно вечером и некому было донести наши чемоданы до номера(очень далеко по ступеням вниз). В результате бросили один чемодан на ночь на пол пути. Отель для подготовленных спортсменов. Сходить утром на завтрак, а потом в номер за вещами и снова наверх к машине или вниз на море, это не каждому по плечу.

Un paradiso immerso nella natura

Это непорядочные люди, ужасный персонал и администраторы. Только жажда наживы!

Наш случай полностью попадает под определение «независящие от нас обстоятельства». С нас взяли деньги, но услуги оказаны не были». Мы много раз пытались найти компромисс, предлагали дополнительную оплату, но администрация идет на принцип, а не пытается предложить выход из ситуации.

Generell ein interessantes Hotel. Leider war der Pool etwas zu kalt. Der Weg bis zum Strand war für uns mit den Kindern nicht machbar. Ohne Ausflüge wäre es ein wenig langweilig geworden. Die Lage für die Ausflüge ist aber sehr gut.

Loved the location, very peaceful after a busy couple of days in Manila. They organised transfers from airport and even to our next hotel easily. It was no hassles and all the staff were friendly and accommodating to all our needs, especially organising a plate of only cucumber or tomato without question for one of our fuss pots. Kids loved the pool. Power points at the hammocks to charge our phone whilst kids splashed was a great addition and well thought out. There is no aircon but really wasn’t needed due to beautiful jungle breezes and fans in the room were more than sufficient. The day tour to Underground River was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our day, our group tour had the four of us and only one other couple and was absolutely lovely. Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable with just the right amount of joy and humour as we went. We didn’t have time but would have also liked to do the fire fly tour as well. We would have maybe liked one more day just to chill out and use the day spa.

Hot water was available for our showers, just don’t expect scalding hot. My 10 year old struggled but the rest of us were fine.

Excellent séjour, personnel très aimable et disponible, chambre magnifique, fonctionnelle, spacieuse. Bon restaurant. Extérieurs très agréables et luxuriants. Excursion très bien organisée.

Prix des repas un peu élevés

Un emplacement vraiment extra, extra ordinaire. On est immergé dans la jungle, dont les singes passent discrètement sur la terrasse matin ou soir, dans leur quête arboricole de nourriture. Bien sûr les cheminements très pentes de la villa aux abords des équipements collectifs font accomplir des efforts physiques, conditions du plaisir d’être si à l’écart. Expérience inoubliable !!!

Enjoyed our stay in the jungle. The facilities, the services were great! People were also very nice, especially enjoyed talking with the bartender (Jade🙂)

The hiking trail to the beach is a bit rough. But it’s fun!

One of our rooms was just under the swimming pool. So The ceiling was leaking. There were a bunch of ants in the bed, and they didn't leave even after the staff tried to kill them. The room smelled of dampness and mold! It was impossible to sleep in this room! It should be closed and not used for guests ! The second room was fine. But it just fine. Not good

Very friendly and helpful staff! Peaceful place with great location close to Sabang Underground, Hundred caves. We enjoyed the scenery, the pool table and swimmingpool.

Peacefully located in the jungle, the room design is amazing. We are a family travelling with 3 kids and it was just the perfect setting for us. An amazing view from the room and the restaurant and the staff was really helpful.

There was no refrigerator in bungalow. As we visited in the low season not all amenities were open due to hardly any other guests.

It's a very quiet place. You'll enjoy the sounds of nature and be able to disconnect. I felt we were the only ones in the resort. The staff is amazing. They have motorbikes that you can rent to go to the closes town - Sabang and take a walk along the beach.

The way to the beach they have hasn't very clear, couldn't get to the beach walking by myself so I gave up. They haven't cleaned the path so it's not clear and its slippery and very stiff.
