We had a fabulous stay at Omia. We had a really friendly welcome from the owner who was very helpful.. The rooms were large, clean, spacious, really beautifully decorated with stunning views of the ocean. The beach here feels like a private beach/back garden to the property! Everything was spotlessly clean. The food...Coconut tempura prawns and the curry for 2 which came with 5 vegetable side dishes was exceptional. We felt this property offered fantastic value. Our main reason for staying here was to visit Rekawa Turtle watch, which is only a short Tuk Tuk ride away. This experience was amazing!

Es war ein richtig schöner Rückzugsort wo man stille Tage am Strand verbringen konnte. Die Bungalows sind sehr geräumig und das Frühstück, welches man den ganzen Tag genießen kann, war sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Auf die Sauberkeit wurde sehr viel geachtet. Wir würden immer wieder kommen.

Leider waren die Cocktails nicht gut und viel zu teuer. Das Abendessen war sehr gut, leider aber auch hier viel zu überteuert und zu kleine Portionen wo man nicht satt wird. Wir wären gerne öfter am Abend im Hotel geblieben oder Mittagessen gegangen, aber es war uns einfachzu teuer. Genauso auch die Cocktails, wenn diese besser gewesen wären und günstiger, hätten wir viel mehr konsumiert.

Das Personal, der Pool und der Strand waren perfekt. Wir haben sehr gute Kontakte für Ausflüge erhalten.

I did a heap of research re where to stay along the southern coast for a little R&R after our travels. We wanted to stay somewhere quiet and small (OMIA = big tick on both those fronts). OMIA has just 8 beautful, gererously sized bungalows. Ours was #1 and our balcony overlooked the lush garden and to the ocean. Perfect. The pool was lovely and after a relaxing day we easily slid into 3pm happy hour at their little bar pavillion that overlooks the ocean. It was lovely to walk along the beach - in both directions there are a few small hotels and eateries dotted along the beach - and in the early morning we found the fishermen landing their boats and bringing in their catch. Coming from Australia, we have a high bar for beaches and the beach was lovely but we ended up preferring to swim in the pool. The food is also excellent at OMIA and the staff and owners completely lovely and accommodating in everyway. We did an excursion to Silent Beach (about 30 min drive away) - wow, so beautiful - worth an outing. (With regard to other beach options, I had looked at staying in Hiriketiya Beach as it looked so beautiful but I was concerned it was too crowded (I was right - we called in on our way to Galle - super busy and a very youthful). We also called into other beaches, eg Mirissa and Weligama - I didn't love them so much either - very busy and the road runs along the beach so it doesn't have a peaceful feel).

Magnifique hôtel où l’on se sent commdes invités ! Les chambres, le jardin, la piscine, la plage, tout est magnifique ! Le personnel est charmant, efficace et discret. Le petit déjeuner et la restauration très bonne! Barbara parle couramment français et c’est un plaisir d'échanger avec elle! Des pêcheurs lévent leurs filets tous les matins, ils apprécient un peu d'aide, n’hésitez pas !

Im OMIA Hotel hatten wir erholsame und ruhige Tage. Das Servicepersonal ist absolut ausgezeichnet und war jederzeit hilfsbereit und freundlich zu uns. Wir haben die Zeit vollumfänglich genossen. Die gesamte Einrichtung ist in einem sehr guten und sauberen Zustand. Im Restaurant haben wir stets hervorragend gegessen. Ein Besuch im OMIA lohnt sich – es gibt nichts Negatives zu berichten.

OMIA is a family run business and their staff are very helpful and friendly. The staff seem to enjoy their jobs which reflects in the high level service we received. OMIA has about 8 bungalows on site which gives a homely spacious feel. The bungalows are simple and spacious very clean and comfortable. The property is next to the beach which is wonderfully peaceful , we discovered a nice beach bar about 800 meters to the right along the beach. Rekawa turtle beach for turtle watching is about 1 mile walk lot’s of restaurants there. We used OMIA as a base to do a day trip on safari and a trip to Hiriketiya. As well as enjoying the relaxing on site.

The property is a little remote with no bank or shop nearby. But that’s not really a problem. There are alternative restaurants and bars that are walkable distances. A Tuck tuck to Tangalle is about 15 minutes for banks, shops and restaurants.

Ein paar Liegen mehr am Strand wären fein.

Directly on the beach. Spacious room with their own terrasse. A Changing choice of specials every day on the menu. Friendly hosts and staff. Down sized resort which feel more intimate.

Maybe a Limited amount of long chair overall when the hotel is fully booked. A light conforter would have been a nice addition to the bed sheets for when your partner is cold at night with the AC, but you're warm ^^

OMIA was a fabulous place to start our time in Sri Lanka. I was so pleasantly surprised at the size of the resort. In the photos it is hard to see how much land they have with wonderful gardens and heights/ views of the beach. I loved that they had access to an almost private beach it made for such a tranquil stay. The bungalow itself was truly wonderful so large, well maintained and with a stunning balcony. The staff at OMIA were there for anything you required during your stay. The food was particularly tasty, fresh and fair priced. Luckily we got to try the managers cooking , Sulfi, his curry was insanely beautiful and made with love. Sulfi has a lovely soul and he really makes OMIA come alive with his smile. I would stay at OMIA again - the only thing to note as a UK visitor is that I did not realise how loud it would be at night due to the waves and the sea being so close. If you’re a light sleeper this is something to consider. Otherwise the property, staff, food, location all exceeded my expectations! Thanks OMIA team.

Excellent and sweet staff. Barbara and the team went out of their way to make our stay good. Sulfi was extremely helpful and serviceminded. Beautiful, spacious bungalows with wonderful sea view. The restaurant served simple, yet really delicious food. Breakfast was great. We would definitely come back to OMIA. It is a the perfect place to catch some holiday zen.

OMIA, de eigenaren, het personeel en de honden hebben onze harten gestolen. Wat een paradijs! Superlief, gezellig en behulpzaam personeel, en samen met eigenaren Barbara en Amit zorgen zij ervoor dat je je helemaal thuis voelt. Prachtige bungalows, heerlijk zwembad, fantastisch strand, superlekker eten (zowel ontbijt, lunch als diner). Alles is schoon en cosy. Kleinschalig, waardoor je helemaal tot rust komt. Je kunt er tours regelen, ook Tuk Tuks worden opgeroepen om je overal naartoe te brengen. Wat wij weinig hebben gedaan omdat het resort zo fijn was dat we er niet weg wilden. Safari naar Udawalawa National Park is een aanrader. Ik zou nog uren kunnen doorgaan over dit geweldige resort, maar ik zou zeggen: ervaar het zelf! Ik heb in ieder geval enorme heimwee. We komen hier zeker terug!

Nous avons passé trois nuits exceptionnelles à OMIA. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par l’ensemble de l’équipe ainsi que par les propriétaires. L’hôtel est très bien pensé, tout comme les chambres qui sont spacieuses, confortables et bien équipées, avec une vue à couper le souffle sur la mer. Surtout, le cadre est vraiment très paisible, entouré de l’océan et de verdure. Au petit déjeuner, nous avons pu observer de nombreux animaux : écureuils, oiseaux, grenouilles, paons, etc. Les prix du restaurant sont élevés (3000+ pour un plat) mais les plats sont très bons. Nous avons eu la chance de bénéficier d’un fish barbecue, c’était excellent ! Merci au chef ainsi qu’aux propriétaires, Barbara et Amith. Nous nous sentions vraiment bien et aurions aimé rester plus longtemps.

Tout était vraiment très bien. Notre seule suggestion pourrait porter sur la carte du restaurant, qui pourrait proposer un ou deux plats plus accessibles financièrement, surtout lorsque l’on reste plusieurs nuits.

Location and hotel perfect for a great holiday break.

We came all the way from Galle, staying at couple of different hotels on our way to Tangalle. But nothing can compare to OMIA - from the very first minute we fell in love with the place. The place feels like a sanctuary, private, safe and yet close to a wild beach. The food at the restaurant is amazing. The hosts are wonderful people with great recommendations. We thank the whole team for making our stay memorable. We are coming back for sure!

Wunderschöne Anlage direkt am Meer. Man ist abseits des touristischen Trubels und hat trotzdem Restaurants in der Nähe! Die Hosts sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit, so wie auch der Rest des Personals. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Das Frühstück war sehr fein mit selbstgemachtem Granola,immer viele verschiedene Früchte und vieles mehr. Dazu ein grosse Auswahl Plätzen um den Pool,den Strand oder die Terrasse vom Bungalow zu geniessen.

Wir hatten einen rundum hervorragenden Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Schon beim Check-in wurden wir herzlich empfangen, und der Service war während des gesamten Aufenthalts aufmerksam, professionell und stets freundlich. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, modern eingerichtet und boten hohen Komfort. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die ruhige Atmosphäre, die für eine erholsame Auszeit gesorgt hat. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, frisch und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Auch die Lage des Hotels ist ideal – sowohl für Entspannung als auch für Unternehmungen. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen definitiv gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

We loved everything. So beautiful and well thought out. The hotel owners were lovely and welcoming, they came and spoke to us, and all guests, at dinner. All staff members were very friendly. Delicious food and drinks with great service. Located right on the beach, with a great pool and sun lounger area too. The beach is quiet and tranquil. Everything was impeccably clean. Comfortable beds, very well maintained rooms with everything you could need. Don’t hesitate to book here!

Gute Lage direkt am Meer, sauberer Strand, baden nicht möglich wegen der Wellen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Gratis Wasser täglich. 2 Regenschirme am Zimmer. Angenehmer Deckenventilator. Schöne große gepflegte Gartenanlage.

Vier Tage kein Warmwasser! Bei jeder Urgenz wurde man von Frau Barbara mit Ausreden abgespeist... Wenigstens gabs 80$ Entschädigung. Warmes Wasser wäre uns lieber gewesen. Außerdem Ameisen im Badezimmer und Geckos im Zimmer... Vier, fünf streunende Hunde stören täglich mit lautem Gebell zu jeder Tages,-Nachtzeit die Ruhe. Sie liegen auf den Liegen, kommen auf die Zimmerterrasse, machen es sich auf den Badetüchern bequem und verunreinigen natürlich die Anlage. Die Beleuchtung der Wege im Dunkeln ist mangelhaft. Ohne Taschenlampe keine Chance. Der pool ist nicht sehr tief, das Wasser bietet dadurch keine wirkliche Abkühlung. Die Restaurantpreise etwas überteuert (zusätzlich noch 10% tax), aber es gibt gute Alternativen in der Nähe. Alles in Allem etwas ernüchternd, auch für 3Sterne.

O preço das refeições no hotel é sobrevalorizado. Como o ambiente é tão tranquilo, basta haver uma família com crianças que "corta" um bocado o ambiente zen.

Wir durften vier wunderbare Nächte im Omia Resort verbringen und hatten eine rundum erholsame Zeit. Die gesamte Anlage bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Besonders gefallen hat uns die ruhige Lage sowie der hauseigene private Beach, der jeden Tag zu etwas Besonderem gemacht hat. Die Anlage ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet, und die Bungalows sind gemütlich, sauber und wirklich schön aufgebaut – ein perfekter Rückzugsort zum Abschalten. Was das Omia Resort aber wirklich einzigartig macht, sind die Menschen, die es mit so viel Herzblut betreiben. Ein ganz großes Lob an Barbara und das gesamte Team. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an unglaublich wohl und herzlich aufgenommen gefühlt. Auch das Restaurant ist ein echtes Highlight: super frisch, unglaublich lecker und jeden Abend ein Genuss. Amazing stay, incredible beach, wonderful staff - we would have loved to stay longer

Tout a été parfait du début à la fin ! Chambre spacieuse, très bien décorée, avec une magnifique terrasse donnant sur la mer, piscine superbe, restaurant excellent, plage sublime et surtout équipe exceptionnelle aux petites soins encadrée par Barbara la propriétaire très avenante et bieinveillante. Choisir un hôtel quand on part en vacances ce n’est jamais simple mais alors là, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés ! C’est le paradis sur terre ! ❤️❤️ Merci à vous pour ces 5 jours merveilleux

We have just enjoyed an amazing six days here and it was truly exceptional in every way. The whole property is kept in pristine condition and the gardens and trees well maintained which complements the beautiful view across the pool to the palms and the beach. Our room was immaculate and spotlessly clean and serviced every day. The bed large and comfortable, the AC very efficient and a cosy area to sit out in the evenings for every bungalow. The pool is superbly maintained with beds and umbrellas etc all thought about as well as a pool bar. The food was superb, very well priced and a bonus for us, you can see the kitchen and it’s spotless. A good menu too and of course so much fresh fish to enjoy on the specials board. The real secret to this place is the amazing staff who were so friendly and helpful and had the most incredible “ can do, will do” attitude to arrange anything for you. We had the most amazing time here thank you.

Everything! Remote location on a stunning desert beach and nature. Beautiful bungalows, large, clean, decorated with taste with sea view. Great staff, friendly, pro, dedicated, efficient. Good restaurant and bar. Prices are really reasonable compared to the remote location and hotel category. You leave with the impression you made a good deal and you will return.

Although the beach is amazing, one can't really go into the sea, it is rough and the slope is acute. Yet there is a well protected spot surrounded by rocks where you can bathe, it is small but great.

Von lokalen Spezialitäten bis zu internationalen Gerichten wird alles mit viel Liebe zubereitet. - Crew & Atmosphäre: Die Mitarbeiter sind äusserst herzlich und aufmerksam – man fühlt sich nicht wie ein Gast, sondern wie bei Freunden. Diese persönliche Note macht den Aufenthalt besonders unvergesslich. Fazit: Das Omia Resort vereint Komfort, Natur und Gastfreundschaft auf höchstem Niveau. Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Die Anlage ist sehr schön gestaltet im Grünen und hat direkten Meerzugang. Im Meer ist es aber ein bisschen schwierig zu baden, aufrund des Wellenganges. Der Poolbereich ist aber auch sehr schön. Parkplätze sind genügend vorhanden.

Es muss einem bewusst sein, das es ein bisschen abgelegen ist. Zudem hatten wir immer wieder einmal Tiere im Badezimmer.

La vue plongeante sur l’océan, le massage de 90 minutes excellent, la plage ainsi que la piscine, la chambre qui était très belle.

La nourriture était assez quelconque et chère. Rapport qualité/prix décevant pour le repas du midi.

There is nothing to fault about this incredible hotel. The rooms are exceptional, the restaurant and food was amongst the best we ate in all of Sri Lanka and the quieter location was such a blessing after a busy few weeks travelling. Also we were the only guests for our whole stay!! It was beyond amazing.

What a dreamy holiday location OMIA is. Our family had such an amazing stay and were so well looked after. The beach is stunning, the pool is perfect and the food and drinks were spot on too. It was hands down the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka.

La tranquilidad y exclusividad del lugar. Si buscas tranquilidad y desconexión, este es tu sitio. El dueño es muy cercano y se preocupa mucho por el bienestar de sus huéspedes. Su mentalidad es que la gente disfrute de un lugar donde a él le gustaría estar de vacaciones.

We had a perfect vacation! The area was absolutely stunning and peaceful, with a truly pastoral charm. The rooms were beautiful — clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and Barbara, the owner, was absolutely lovely and went out of her way to assist us with anything we needed. Everything about the place made for a wonderful, relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

The staff we so friendly and accommodating, the location was fab, in our own little paradise but can still get a tuktuk to places, food was delicious at the resort, private beach which was completely unspoilt and so beautiful, the pool was amazing. Just such a great place to relax and enjoy natural beauty of sri lanka. Can't recommend this resort enough and would definitely come back!!

This all runs so well due to the owner Barbara who is so friendly , helpful and runs a great hotel . Would love to come back .

Our stay at Omia was simply exceptional. The grounds are out of this world with a lovely pool right on the most secluded beach you could wish for. The rooms are fabulous as part of 8 private villas with a restaurant and shared pool. Beds were large and comfortable and the balcony overlooking the sea was sensational. We also had a massage in our room which was wonderfully relaxing with the sound of the ocean throughout. The food was delicious with a good selection of fresh fish and seafood as well as more traditional Sri Lankan options too. The staff are so kind and attentive and helped us arrange Tuk tuks to wherever we needed to go. Barbara the owner is also extremely welcoming and went above and beyond for our stay. It was my boyfriend’s 30th and she arranged petal decorations on the bed and a special table and cake for dinner. Would recommend Omia to anyone - truly a slice of paradise! We hope to come back soon and only wish we booked for longer!

We loved Omia! Amazing fresh food, delicious cocktails and comfortable surroundings. We loved how laidback the hotel was, while nothing was every any trouble for the lovely staff. The beach was beautiful and peaceful. Everything was very clean and tidy. The owner Amit took my partner out fishing one morning after chatting about their shared hobby, and organised a lovely boat trip on the lagoon for us. Omia is a true sanctuary, the photos don't do it justice :)

The only thing I could mention is the price point of the food and drinks - it was slightly more expensive than what we paid elsewhere in Sri Lanka and the remote location meant there weren't really any other options. That being said, the food was delicious so we didn't grudge spending!

This is honestly one of the best place we have every stayed at. Everything, from the accommodation, location, staff, food…..were excellent. We will definitely come back soon and won’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Wonderful oasis with stunning views of the Indian ocean. The design of the bungalows enabled us to have a fantastic overview of the pool and to wake up every morning to the beautiful ocean. Access to the white sandy beach was really easy from the site. It felt very exclusive and special.The owner, Barbara, was very welcoming and has deliberately recruited staff who shared her vision to make the visit truly unforgettable. Breakfast was excellent every day and choice from the' specials' menu for the evening was outstanding. We felt that this was the best food that we ate during our stay in Sri Lanka.

Location was great but if you want night life this place is not for you. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Staff and owner brilliant the food was fresh and well cooked. The pool was lovely and the view of the ocean idyllic. We had a lot of help from locating the railway station to organising a dusk lagoon tour which by the way was excellent, lots of bird life and of course monkeys.

The location is stunning a few steps from the ocean. Our hosts and staff were so accommodating.

Great location for relaxing stay with beautiful views. Welcoming owners and dedicated staff, taking excellent care of the guests. High variety of meals and snacks available on site together with creative drinks.

We had a wonderful stay at Omia. It is an oasis for a relaxed holiday in Sri Lanka. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean and have everything one needs. The food is great and the staff does not leave any of your wishes open. It has been amazing waking up to the view of the ocean and being able to go for a walk or dive into the pool. Barbara is a wonderful host, who provided recommendations as to places to visit and best beaches in the area. We would come again.
