Very original place, staff very kind and we really appreciate to be a bit far from the population because the pool views are stunning

The safari in Block 1 was closed, and only Block 5 was open. In my opinion, it was a poor safari, but I don’t blame the hosts for it.

Lovely scenery,attentive staff

Very friendly and attentive staff, they even prepared us take away breakfast for the early morning safari. We had dinner prepared by them which was delicious aswell. They organized our transport to ella after checkout. The pool was very clean.

Bij aankomst hadden we nog geen lunch op maar er werd al snel gezorgd dat we wat te eten kregen. Het personeel keek goed naar ons om, en mochten meerdere keren mee eten!

Heel fijne locatie op prachtige locatie. Ideaal voor het bezoeken van het Yala National park. Heerlijk om daarna te zwemmen in het mooie zwembad. Personeel is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Baja is de manager en zorgt samen met zijn team dat je een topverblijf hebt. Heerlijk gegeten!

Bijzondere locatie in de rijstvelden met een infinity pool. Eenvoudige doch prima kamers.

Communicatie met personeel moeizaam omdat beheersing van de Engelse taal beperkt tot niet aanwezig is. Dat zorgde dikwijls voor verwarring bv bij boeking van safaris.

Το μπάνιο είναι ανοιχτό στην οροφή με αποτέλεσμα να μπαίνουν μέσα στο δωμάτιο όλα τα ζωάκια και τα έντομα. Ζέστο νερό δεν είχε. Η κλειδαριά του δωματίου από μέσα ήταν ξηλωμένη και η πόρτα του μπάνιου δεν έκλεινε. Οι καρέκλες στο δωμάτιο ήταν σπασμένες. Η κουνουπιέρα ήταν γεμάτη τρύπες

De locatie was geweldig en het zwembad was prachtig en heerlijk verkoelend! Super rustgevende locatie! En heel vriendelijk personeel dat ons heeft geholpen met het regelen van de safari en het regelen met een Tuktuk terug naar de bus de volgende dag!

Douche niet warm, trap naar restaurant was wiebelig en we hadden pech dat zwembad troebel was.

Erg vriendelijk! De douche is lekker warm. We waren allebei een beetje ziek, maar ze kwamen heel lief wat toasts brengen op de kamer. Het zwembad is onwijs lekker met goed water en prachtig uitzicht. Mooie uitvalsbasis voor safari.

Best wat insecten, maar wel logisch zo in de natuur. Zolang je de deur van de wc dichthoudt valt het mee.

Airco werkte slecht op een van de kamers. Na een reset gevraagd om een monteur maar helaas niet gekomen, ander kamer aangeboden gekregen voor de tweede nacht. Eten wat de pot schaft, smaakte prima, maar de keuken kan hygiënischer. De accommodatie ligt vrij afgelegen.

De wat afgelegen locatie in de rijstvelden is prachtig. De accomodatie heeft maar 6 kamers wat heel fijn is en de familie die het runt is heel vriendelijk alhoewel ze slecht Engels spreken. Houd er wel rekening mee dat je enkel cash kunt betalen. Wij hadden de ochtend safari in Yala NP en om 05:00uur stond de zoon te wachten op ons met een ontbijtpakketje.

De douche is er voor de vorm. Er komt nagenoeg géén water uit en hetgeen wat er wel uitkomt heeft een raar luchtje.

Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Aardige familie. Heerlijk eten. Heel mooi aangelegd.

We had a fantastic stay at Rice Rice and would happily come back. The pool is beautiful, well maintained, and the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with delicious meals and generous portions. A special highlight was the safari organization. Everything was arranged smoothly, communication was excellent, and the pricing was completely transparent with no hidden costs. We really appreciated the honest and professional service, which made the whole experience stress-free. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. We highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a comfortable base with great food, a lovely pool, and reliable safari arrangements.

Prachtig klein tropisch verblijf tussen de rijstvelden. Mooi zwembad en leuke cabins om te verblijven met koffie/thee setje en goede bedden. Personeel is super vriendelijk en je kan er heerlijk lokaal eten. Met tuktuk zijn we er zelf gekomen. Laatste 300 meter is wel wat avontuurlijk, maar dat heeft juist z’n charme

We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean, the price was very reasonable, and the staff were genuinely warm, friendly, and always happy to help. They also organized an amazing safari with a great driver, which was one of the highlights of our trip.

Personal molt atent. Un suc increïble en arribar. Piscina amb molt bones vistes. Vam fer el safari amb ells i va ser genial. L’habitació en general està molt bé tot i que és cert que alguns llençols son una mica vells. Ens van oferir sopar i esmorzar i tot molt bo.

J’ai adorer la piscine, super agréable, l’emplacement est juste dingue j’ai adorée ! La chambre superbe, moustiquaire, air conditionné, tout était top ! Il y avait un varan au dessus de la douche sur le toit c’était impressionnant !! Personnel adorable, il y a même un sèche cheveux ! J’étais aux anges

Bel hôtel, bien situé pour les safaris, safaris très bien organisés. Jolie piscine pour se détendre après. Personnel très sympathique.

Nous avions 2 chambres, pas d’eau chaude dans une des 2. Pas de possibilité de manger à midi après le safari. Possible de dîner le soir, le monsieur fait un plat. Nous avons mangé un deux deux soirs un curry végétarien bon et non piquant mais il faut aimer, à savoir donc…

De mensen die hier werken zijn super lief en doen er alles aan om je verblijf onvergetelijk te maken. Ze zijn super vriendelijk en kunnen heerlijk koken! De uitzichten bij het zwembad zijn ook zo gaaf!

We zou bij het zwembad nog wel wat schaduw gecreëerd kunnen worden want de mooie palmbomen geven niet voldoende schaduw.

I would not recommend staying here, particularly if you are a solo traveller, its very very remote and the manager/owner is a little strange. It gets very dark at night and there isn't anything nearby, you'd even struggle getting a tuk tuk to come to the hotel to be honest. My room was dark and dingy and unclean, I even found a used plaster in my bed. It was just about doable as we were only there 1 night for the safari, but if I could do it again, I'd have sucked it up and paid more for somewhere nearer the safari/town.

Super accommodation for anyone looking for an relaxing peaceful stay. They booked Yala national park for us and packed a lunch for the trip. Host was really friendly and made us his homemade Sri Lankan curry for dinner both nights which was really tasty.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in den Rice Rice Villas. Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig und liebevoll geführt. Das gesamte Team war unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und hat uns jederzeit sehr willkommen fühlen lassen. Ein besonderes Highlight war das Essen: Der Gastgeber hat uns ein Gericht nach einem Familienrezept seiner Mutter gekocht. Es war absolut köstlich und das sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Wir haben uns insgesamt sehr wohlgefühlt und waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Auch für die Safari ist die Lage gut geeignet. Vielen Dank für die tolle Gastfreundschaft, wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Amazing location right in the middle of rice fields. Staff was very nice and helpful with booking the Yala safari as well as lunch. Highly recommend !

It is in a stunning location. The individual hut type rooms are spacious and have everything we needed. Everything was very clean. Beds are comfy and air conditioning is good also. The staff are all very good and helpful. They can help arrange/suggest transport options and book you safaris if needed. The food is really good. Dinner was super tasty and breakfast was also good.

De omgeving van deze locatie is werkelijk waar prachtig! Om na een vroege safari bij een zwembad met zo’n uitzicht te mogen liggen is geweldig! De locatie wordt nog beter door de staff die enorm lekker koken en je bij alles willen helpen!

De badkamer is wat standaard, maar ik vond dat qua prijs ook geen luxe verwacht kan worden

Parfait pour prévoir son safari à Yala. L’hôtel propose de régler la réservation du safari pour vous (à un prix raisonnable). La vue sur les rizières avec la piscine est magnifique.

Nous n’avons pas réussi à avoir de l’eau chaude mais il faisait très chaud donc ça allait. L’eau avait une odeur d’algues.

The amazing staff, everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food! The traditional Sri Lankan meal we had was amazing, it was a huge portion for a very reasonable price. The pool is lovely with a beautiful view of the rice fields.

The rooms require a bit of TLC, our sheets had large holes in them and require some upgrading. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.

Breakfast was alright but can do better.

Preis- Leistungs Verhältnis ist super. Unterkunft liegt mitten in Reisfeldern und der Pool ist wunderschön.

Mit dem Personal kam es ab und zu zu Missverständnissen aufgrund der Sprachbarriere allerdings konnten wir alles gut lösen :)

Baja is erg vriendelijk en maakt heel lekker eten, hij vraagt je wanneer je graag eet en het staat meteen voor je klaar. Hij regelt ook graag je Safari en driver. Deze was ook helemaal inorde en goede prijs. Als je het Yala park wil doen raden we deze accommodatie zeker aan! 4 luipaarden , olifanten en heel wat waterbuffels gespot.

Goed voor een korte tussenstop als je Yala wil bezoeken. Verder is er niet echt iets te doen, de wifi was ook niet top.

Situation et vue exceptionnelles. Idéal pour profiter de la nature et du calme avant un safari. La piscine est superbe.

De mensen daar zijn erg lief en behulpzaam. De beheerder kan heerlijk koken, het is er rustig en stil. Schoon en simpel. Prima om 1-2 max. 3 nachten door te brengen. Of als je op doorreis bent. Ideaal voor de opstap naar Yala park als je een jungle tour wilt doen.

Het is niet iets voor kinderen, naast het zwembad is er verder geen activiteit voor kids. Geen supermarkten in de directe omgeving, wel op 10 minuten met een tuktuk.

This is a gorgeous little homestay in the middle of the rice fields. Our room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfy. The view from the pool was stunning. We had dinner there which was delicious and a good price. They arranged our safari for us and gave us a packed breakfast.

would have liked to have more sun beds because we didn’t get to use one unfortunately.

Mooie kamer en badkamer, knap uitzicht van aan het zwembad

Personeel wist niet goed wat ze deden en deden niet echt moeite, ook al waren ze wel heel vriendelijk. Je kreeg geen info, moest alles zelf vragen, er liepen 2 jonge gasten rond die niets proactief deden (bv ontbijt klaarzetten op gevraagde uur, zwembad kuisen,...). De kuisvrouw was het beste, zij leek daar alles te doen, koken, watertjes en wc papier naar kamer brengen, ontbijt maken. Ik snap niet echt wat de rest van het personeel daar deed, ze liepen wat rond en veegden bladeren op. Een beetje muziek en betere service (bv zelf vuilnis wegsmijten, eten opdienen dat je bestelt zelf halen en op een bord zetten) doet wonderen. In de avond was een tuk tuk geregeld en men zei dat we maar loesten sturen naar hotel zodat die ons terug oppikte, maar we kregen geen antwoord, en terug in het hotel let een eigen geregelde tuk tuk zagen we dat het personeel aan het zwembad rustte let wat muziek. Geen excuses achteraf gekregen. Zeker niet aan te raden voor deze prijs.

Wat een fantastische plek. Precies als in de positieve reviews hierboven al beschreven. Heerlijk zwembad tussen de rijstvelden. Prima hutten om in te verblijven. Goede airco en wifi. We hebben er in de avond heerlijk gegeten en de volgende dag kregen we om 04.30 ontbijt mee op safari. Alles werd prima geregeld door heel vriendelijk personeel. Aanrader! Misschien wel de leukste booking van onze reis.

I can appreciate perhaps the staff don’t know English well enough however, they told me on serval occasions including written on WhatsApp that they would organise a safari to Yala for us. They asked us to be ready at reception at 5am yet no one was there and we had to book a safari on our own last minute. Also the breakfast is really disappointing and not very good.
