Zion View Ella Green Retreat

It’s a very chill place with a beautiful pool, nice view and a very good breakfast. The rooms are good, with a nice terrace. It’s located perfectly in Ella aswell.

Very little guidances for walks

Beautiful views, great staff, clean and comfortable accommodation. A total gem only a short walk away from the main restaurant and bar area. Best of both worlds as its a serene and quiet for sleeping and relaxing by the pool. Highly recommend.

The only downside to being up a hill away from it all is that our driver couldn't drop us at the door so we got a tuk tuk. Not a huge deal though. Only a few mins drive and low cost, funny experience with three suitcases!! 😄

We loved this hotel - such an amazing view to wake up to everyday, and we loved hanging out on the balcony area with the swinging chair and hammock. The breakfast was great and staff were very helpful. Brilliant location too. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay again!

That view, that place.... best place in Ella

We had an amazing stay at Zion view. - The location is perfect. It is a short (5minute ish) walk from Ella town but set far enough away to not get the town’s noise. - the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We told them the things we wanted to do on arrival and they helped arrange everything. - the setting is beautiful. The view from the rooms and the pool is breathtaking. - the food is lovely. We had the breakfast and a dinner at the hotel. It was all really tasty. - our plans in Sri Lanka were flexible. This caused us to change the booking a couple of times. The hotel was always really flexible. - the yoga class was a great way to start the day. We hope to be back one day.

Sin duda alguna las vistas del comedor y de las habitaciones, el desayuno muy completo y nos gustó que podamos echarnos lo que queramos y comentar que el personal es muy agradable y nos ha hecho muy fácil la estancia.

Lo que es el interior de la habitación podría mejorar un poco pero en general todo muy bien.

Na een fantastische Safari in Uduwalawe als tussenstop van Unawatuna naar Ella. Hier zit dit hotel tussen meerdere hotels in de bergen en dicht bij de grote winkelstraat. Maar ook meteen bij het treinspoor. Locatie dus top. Kamer prima. Hangmat heerlijk!

Zwembad koud en chlorig dus geen favoriet van de kids.

Beautiful setting. Excellent staff, good food and really nice play areas for young kids. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well laid out with lovely hammocks and swing chairs on the terrace to enjoy the views. Easy access to town and local sights.

The swimming pool wasn’t the best - sharp steps at an odd angle, no shallow area for the kids and a bit murky.

Unser Aufenthalt im Zion View in Ella war ein absoluter Traum und eines der Highlights unserer Sri-Lanka-Reise. Die Lage ist wunderschön, mit einem atemberaubenden Blick auf Ella Rock und Little Adam’s Peak. Ob morgens oder abends aus der Hängematte auf der Terrasse, vom Pool oder vom Restaurant aus — die Aussicht ist einfach fantastisch. Das gesamte Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Besonders schön war, dass unsere Tochter während des Aufenthalts Geburtstag hatte: Das Frühstück wurde sehr liebevoll dekoriert, inklusive Musik und Geburtstagstorte. Das war eine wirklich besondere Überraschung. Auch die Kommunikation schon vor der Anreise per WhatsApp war hervorragend, und wir wurden problemlos vom Bahnhof abgeholt. Das Frühstück war super lecker und bot eine große Auswahl. Unsere Zimmer waren sehr komfortabel, und auch das Bad war sehr gepflegt. Die Lage ist zudem ideal: Nach Ella läuft man keine zehn Minuten. Insgesamt war es ein wunderbar entspannter Aufenthalt in traumhafter Umgebung. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können das Zion View absolut empfehlen.

La vue et la gentillesse du personnel

Le prix (136 euros la nuit) est bien trop élevé pour la qualité des équipements. Tout est vieillissant, il n’y a meme pas de quoi ranger ses vêtements dans la chambre. Le pire est que la grande baie vitrée qui est juste en face du lit donne sur l’endroit où tout le monde passe pour rejoindre sa chambre. On est obligé de garder les rideaux fermés en permanence. Par ailleurs il y a beaucoup d’escaliers pour aller à la réception, au restaurant, à la piscine etc… à prendre en compte si vous avez des problèmes de mobilité.

Superbe Hôtel, vue magnifique sur les montagnes et très belle piscine. Situé à 300m de l'hyper centre d'Ella, ce qui permet d'être au calme.

יש עלייה בדרך למלון ומדרגות בתוכו, לנו זה לא הפריע אבל אם אתם ילדים ממש קטנים קחו זאת בחשבון

The location was amazing, with stunning views across the valley towards Ella Rock, and was in easy walking distance to the main area of Ella. Breakfast looking over the same view was a great way to start the day, and the buffet preakfast was to die for. The infinity pool shared the same view and was a nice size so could get in a few lengths. Ella was a nice place to visit, with the walk up to Little Adam's Peak and nearby waterfall. We also went on the train from Ella to Haputale and walk down to watch the train cover over 9 Arches Bridge.

Whilst we knew we were all in one family room, it was a bit of a squeeze for 4 people, but it was ok for our 2 night stay.

Geweldig uitzicht, relax plekken bij je eigen kamer, op een paar minuten lopen van het bruisende centrum. Een massage en de yoga zijn echt aan te raden om je verblijf compleet te maken. Een erg uitgebreid ontbijt. Betrokken en erg vriendelijk personeel.

Heerlijk verblijf weg van de drukte van Ella. Alles kan geregeld worden vanuit het hotel. Heel aardig personeel, staat altijd voor je klaar. Kindvriendelijk! Speelhoekje top voor de kids. Prachtig uitzicht, elke dag komen er wel een keer aapjes voorbij slingeren. Heerlijk eten.

Prachtig uitzicht! Mooie kamers met hangmat om te relaxen en van het uitzicht te genieten. Het zwembad was heel fijn. Je wordt in de watten gelegd door het personeel. Fijn ontbijt buffet.

Mooie locatie, tuk-tuks van het hotel brengen je in no time naar iedere plek in Ella. Vriendelijk personeel en lekker ontbijt.

De Spa is echt niet van deze tijd. Het personeel is aller vriendelijkst, daar ligt het niet aan. Massage zelf is niet echt professioneel. De prijs is wel laag. De Spa is weggestopt in de kelder van het gebouw, bedompt en weinig privacy.

Rien de honteux dans cet hôtel correct. Mais quand même beaucoup trop cher au regard des chambres basiques et sans le moindre charme. La veille, nous avons résidé dans la même ville d'Ella au sein d'un petit bijou de design et de raffinement nommé Ella Trail Luxury Villa. Le tout pour 100 euros de moins que ce Zion Retreat...

Las vistas son espectaculares y el desayuno de 10. La laundry muy bien también, te dejan toda la ropa perfectamente colocada y tiene precio razonable. La habitación y el baño limpios.

Como no se puede tener todo la subida hasta el hotel es empinada, de ahí las buenas vistas y hay escaleras para todo, bajar a la piscina, ir al comedor salir del hotel,....

This is an awesome hotel. Staff are lovely, view incredible, the room was spacious for our family of 4, facilities were great, bar and restaurant superb. I cannot find anything really to fault this place.

If there were one thing it would be that the breakfast buffet was not that extensive, however, it was great for us and the food they had was very good.

Location was perfect, few minutes walk from the center of Ella town and yet quiet and peaceful. The view from the room terrace was beautiful, breakfast was excellent, the swimming pool was also great and overall experience was wonderful. Highly recommend

The team was very helpful and supportive. They arranged the taxis for me. The Yoga class was impressive. The rooms and the hotel is very clean. Very good breakfast. Easy and online check in.

Too many steps

Todo estaba tal cual imaginé y ví en las fotos. Nuestra habitación estaba arriba del todo y de fácil acceso, con balcón privado, pero me fijé en las demás y han arreglado la parte de las habitaciones, ahora los balcones ya no se comunican entre sí, algo que leí de comentarios negativos. Es un poco incómodo acceder a la piscina si estás arriba del todo ya que se encuentra abajo y hay muchas escaleras, pero se agradece un baño después de visitar el entorno. El desayuno nos gustó que fuera buffet, todo estaba muy rico. Si quieres llegar al centro de Ella andando, sin tener que coger Tuk Tuk cada vez, es ideal.

Un poco caro para lo que realmente es y comparado con otros sitios que hemos estado en Sri Lanka.

It was lovely and peaceful. The view from our room was amazing! Our room was great, even with our family of 5 pretty much adults. The staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. The property was an easy walk into town.

Skvělý hotel, který můžeme jen doporučit. Nejvíce nás nadchly výborné snídaně s opravdu velkým výběrem a skvělé čaje. Personál byl po celou dobu pobytu velmi milý, ochotný a usměvavý. Celý hotel byl perfektně čistý a krásně udržovaný. Bazén s úžasným výhledem, kde se skvěle odpočívalo. Pobyt jsme si moc užili.

Everything was wonderful

Maisema!! Yksi kauneimmista maisemista ikinä. Osa henkilökunnasta oli todella huomiovaa ja ystävällistä.

Heel vriendelijk begroet toen wij binnenkwamen. Het personeel was super aardig en behulpzaam tijdens het hele verblijf. De kamer en badkamer zijn beiden prima. Er is een goede airco aanwezig en ook een fijn mosquito net om het bed heen. De veranda is echt GEWELDIG. Je kan er super leuk even uitrusten en je hebt daarbij echt een ontzettend mooi uitzicht. Een bergje af en je bent bij het centrum, is wel een goede klim omhoog als je weer terug wilt gaan. Het zwembad is ook super, wij hebben ook een massage genomen die erg beviel. En het eten, zowel de lunch als ontbijt, zijn echt ruim en lekker. Zeker een aanrader als je een verblijf waar je wat langer wilt blijven en heerlijk tot rust wilt komen!

We had a great stay at this resort with our two kids. The view is amazing, the rooms are comfortable and it’s at a great location within walking distance of the Main Street. Our daughter turned four while we were staying here. The staff found this out and arranged a small birthday party for her in the restaurant as a surprise, including decorations and cake. This made her day, it was such a sweet gesture that had such a big impact. Really happy to have stayed here!

Een groot speeltoestel, zandbak en een aparte speelruimte voor onze zoon van 2. Dat was fantastisch. Verder een fijn zwembad en heel goed ontbijt.

Gorgeous place, the pool not too big but so welcome in the heat. Shower the loveliest I've had during my three week vacation. Views to die for. Breakfast was great with someone to fry you up a nice omelet. Really wonderful.

If I had to name one thing, it would be that my balcony and the neighbours really only had a short wall as a separation. The neighbour's kid peeked around the corner. Not a huge deal, but not perfect. And my appartement was next to the yoga class. Had I sat in front of my apt with someone and chatted at normal level, that would have disturbed the tranquility of the yoga class.

Had a wonderful stay at Zion View Ella Resort. The location offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and nature, making it a perfect place to relax. The rooms were clean,, comfortable, and well maintained with all the necessary amenities. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the resort is peaceful and ideal for anyone visiting Ella. Highly recommended for travelers looking for a comfortable stay, great views, and excellent service.

The restaurant is amazing! I wish they offered cooking classes! The view is stunning. The staff as all lovely and so helpful. The yoga was lovely. It was all very relaxing.

The view was fantastic , the room was great in space, the bathroom was good too, the pool amazingly relaxing and very clean. They do give you water if you need more, very peaceful and great location.

In the room, the mosquito nets in the beds had holes, the bathroom had poo of an animal near the sink and floor, it was not cleaned and prepared enough to host guest. there was no wifi working well in our room. and one of the recptionist was very rude, not Sumudu he was very friendly but the other person.

Spectacular setting overlooking Ella Rock. This place has a magical setting that is perfect away from the crowds. We went off season so perfect for us. The pool is great, the breakfast delicious & staff kind.

The bed was a bit too soft for me but ok. There are a lot of steps. Hike up to hotel is steep but tuk tuks available.

Echt een prachtige gelegen accommodatie met een fantastisch uitzicht over de bergen. Fijne kamers (die wij hadden was niet heel ruim), met een ruim balkon met hangmat. Het hotel is van alle gemakken voorzien; lekker eten (met ook een prachtig uitzicht) en een fijn zwembad. Service is erg goed; ze kunnen je overal bij helpen. Ook is het op loopafstand van het centrum. Je moet wel een beetje een steile klim maken om dan weer terug te komen.

Niks eigenlijk. tip misschien nog: kijk uit met ballen in het zwembad. Als ze over de omheining vliegen, ben je ze kwijt!

The view from the room was absolutely amazing, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is also very centrally located, which made it convenient for getting around. Overall, it was a nice place to stay.

It was a bit strange that our room and the neighboring room were connected in a way that made it possible to move between them. Also, the road up to the hotel was a bit difficult, although the view was probably worth it.

We loved our stay at Zion View in Ella. Stayed 4 nights here - great location, wonderful breakfast, friendly and attentive staff who were willing to help with anything. Pool and view was incredible. Our family loved every minute.

Everything was great but the hill at the end of the night was great exercise but a little tiring. Only a very short tuk tuk drive though.
