Misty Hills Ella Resort

Het personeel was echt ontzettend vriendelijk en ze stonden dag en nacht voor je klaar. Een heerlijk ontbijt en ook het eten bij het hotel was lekker. Echt een aanrader om te verblijven in ella! Met een tuk tuk goed te doen naar Ella, het is een kleine afstand maar wel een klim. Het hotel kan een tuk tuk regelen maar er rijden er ook genoeg langs! Kortom; top!

Het is iets wat gedateerd, maar wel allemaal goed schoon! De douche duurt iets langer met warm worden.

Die Unterkunft besticht durch ihre tolle Lage , die Zimmer sind sehr groß, haben alle eine gute Aussicht. Das Essen im Restaurant ist gut , das Personal sehr nett. Insgesamt alles ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, aber das Hotel ist sehr cool und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert

Matratzen waren nicht so gut, der Kaffee war mittelmäßig.

Erg mooi hotel, vooral fantastisch uitzicht en heel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Zij maken het verschil! Prettig dat je eieren kan laten bakken door een kok bij het ontbijt!

Het hotel komt van binnen wat oud over, alles buiten de kamers en het zwembad ziet er niet meer heel fantastisch uit en kan wel wat opknapping gebruiken. Ook was er vanuit onze etage (we sliepen op de 6e etage) geen trap om naar een andere etage te gaan en alleen een lift, dat lijkt ons niet brand veilig en soms wat vervelend als je lang op de ligt moet wachten. Bij het ontbijt vonden we het jammer dat veel warme componenten niet warm worden gehouden op het buffet.

We can’t thank the staff enough for how kind and welcoming they all were during our stay. All staff were willing to go the extra mile and make our stay special. That view!! I don’t think any hotel room will ever beat the view from our balcony and the pool.

Poor eat poor staff

Nous avons beaucoup aimé la piscine, la vue et la chambre. Le service de blanchisserie était également disponible, ce qui était vraiment pratique et appréciable !

Nous n’avons pas du tout apprécié la cuisine, qui n’était vraiment pas bonne. Nous avons même retrouvé un cheveu dans notre plat, sans qu’un remplacement du plat ou une quelconque compensation ne nous soit proposé. Très décevant.

Frühstücksbuffet war sehr fein und grosse Auswahl. Pool sauber mit Liegen und Pooltüchern. Zimmer sehr gross und schön. Personal sehr freundlich.

Etwas weit vom Zentrum und in der Nacht sehr dunkel zum gehen. Hotel bestellt jederzeit ein Tuktuk für 500 Rupis.

I am extremely disappointed by the receptionist 's rude and & unprofessional behavior.When a client asked to repeat something they didn 't catch, that reception lady " Medhani "dismissively stated she only says things one time.Customers deserve basic respect ,not this kind og cheap behavior.Management needs to address this properly.

Amazing view!!

The view - just wow. After driving through Elle, we hit a couple of really tight hairpin corners, the last of which dropped us at the foot of Misty Hills, a hotel perched on a rocky corner. We were warmly met on arrival by the lovely staff and offered a cooling towel and a refreshing juice. Check in was easy and before we knew it we had been escorted to our room and then wow again as we looked over the whole valley from our window.  The room was quaint with a comfortable queen bed and tidy bathroom - all very clean and tidy. We booked a double deluxe room with Balcony which included daily breakfast.  The pool was a refreshing way to cool down and relax and that view was there again. The staff were exceptional, extremely helpful and attentive and always with a lovely smile - this place was genuine both in the old creaky and soulful building that has evolved on the rock face and its wonderful staff - I definitely recommend this hotel and we will certainly be returning to Misty Hills when we next visit Ella.

Fantastic view of the valley, Ella Rock and Little Adams Peak. Both from the rooms and the pool/restaurant area of the hotel. Super friendly and service minded staff. Our room on the 6th floor was huge and clean. 5 min ride to both Ella centre and Rawanna falls with Tuk Tuk

Het uitzicht, de enige reden van ons verblijf. De bedden waren wel comfortabel en de kamer was schoon. Het personeel is heel erg vriendelijk.

Het hotel is erg verouderd en in slechte staat. De douche was koud en her en der zit wat schimmel. Ook de faciliteiten zijn in verouderde staat. Het gehele hotel heeft een opknapbeurt nodig.

The hotel is located along the main hill highway on a bend. Heavy vehicles tend to honk when navigating that bend. It becomes a nuisance at night. The original building, in colonial style, is located on the 7th floor from the street...the rest of the floors are quick n easy concrete 'boxes' constructed to create room and ancillary spaces - the charm is contrived thru artefacts. The cost of shirodhara add-on was not detailed in the menu and turned out to be the same as the full-body massage!!!

Amazing views ! Set in a beautiful location close to everything. Big spacious rooms! The staff were so friendly as well very helpful with organising rides etc.

Zwembad was fris en veel kleiner dan op de foto. Restaurant was s'avonds leeg dus wij zijn ook uit eten gegaan.

Wauw… Letterlijk alles was geweldig aan deze plek. Het uitzicht, de kamer, het zwembad, het heerlijke bed, de onwijs lieve mensen die er werken en het plezier dat ze samen hadden tijdens hun werk. Het was zo’n warm verblijf dat ik bij aankomst op onze nieuwe plek echt even heb moeten acclimatiseren en een soort van heimwee voelde naar Misty Hills en Ella. De communicatie van het hotel was top: wij hadden een taxi via hen vanaf het vliegveld en toen we daar stonden met de chauffeur kregen we eerst de manager van het hotel even aan de lijn, super persoonlijk. Het personeel heeft er duidelijk te zien zin in om samen te werken én zin om het je als gast naar je zin te maken. We hebben genoten van hun aanwezigheid, de praatjes en behulpzaamheid, het ontbijt (met omelet bar), de drankjes en menukaart aan het zwembad en het werkelijk waanzinnige uitzicht. De kamer was perfect: groot, goede airco, een koelkast en het heerlijkste bed van de vakantie. Wij hebben vanaf het hotel veel gelopen naar het centrum en vonden dit zelf goed te doen maar namen ook wel eens een Tuktuk of sprongen in de voorbij rijdende bus! Istuthi!

We had a great stay! The mountain view was absolutely breathtaking, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We had to leave very early in the morning, and they kindly prepared a fresh takeaway breakfast for us. Highly recommended!

Misty Hills Ella resort is an excellent resort that is close to Ella town for convenience, but also perfectly tucked in a mountain away from the hustle and bustle. The bedroom was very big and the bed was super comfortable and big! My partner who is very tall has never slept in a bed that fits his feet in, so he was very pleased to be staying at Misty Hills for 4 nights. The pool and outdoor area was beautiful and was very enjoyable to hang out after doing a big hike in the morning. One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet each morning. The food offering consisted of a variety of Sri Lankan food and Western foods and was different each morning! They have a chef who cooks you a fresh omelette even! The staff were exceptional, we felt so comfortable and cared for. I defintely will be returning to Misty hills!

Personalet var veldig imøtekommende og behjelpelige! Vi ble oppgradert til et større rom med nydelig utsikt, noe vi satte stor pris på. Veldig fint bassengområde.

Beliggenheten var ikke helt det vi så for oss. Det er kort i avstand til sentrum, men veien var ikke belyst og ganske trafikkert. Gjester tok som regel tuktuk til/fra byen. Frokosten kunne hatt bedre utvalg.

Der Pool war schön und das Personal sehr nett.

Leider ein wenig schmutzig. Es hatte Flecken auf Bettwäsche und Dusch-/Handtücher.

We had an amazing stay at Misty Hills. The room was very spacious and had a beautiful view overlooking the mountains, which made our stay feel extra special. The staff were incredibly lovely, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We felt well looked after from start to finish and would happily stay here again.

The staff were very friendly & really made every effort to make our stay as good as possible. They go out of their way to help. The rooftop infinity is great with awesome views. I put a review in for my partners birthday & they decorated the room, and on arrival all the staff brought him a cake & sang happy birthday.

The room is pretty basic but that was fine, the only thing was our bathroom smelled like sewage & at certain times of the day it would get worse & then spread through the whole room which wasn’t nice. We were barely in our room so wasn’t a major concern though.

We loved our stay here. The staff could not have been more welcoming and our room was massive with a stunning view over Ella hills. The swimming pool was a brilliant addition as well. Despite it being quiet the hotel staff went out of way at breakfast which was brilliant and we had such a lovely time here.

It’s a slightly longer walk into Ella itself but lots of tuktuks around if don’t fancy walk down at night.

A very warm welcome from the reception lady and a lovely room with an exceptional view. The pool wasn’t as big as it looked on the pics but it was nice and I was the only one in there anyway! The view is spectacular and kind of makes you forget any small niggles. Other staff were also talkative and friendly and we felt welcome. Good location, not far from Ella centre and only 5 mins by tuk tuk.

The interior of the hotel looked a bit tired and our bathroom, although recently refurbished could have been better (the window was only just hanging in there!) The restaurant area was very basic and had wobbly tables and lighting was poor in some places. The breakfast was simple but had tasty freshly cooked omelettes but we chose not to eat there in the evening.

De gastvrijheid was echt geweldig. De locatie is top en de kamers zijn mooi. Het eten in het restaurant was ook erg lekker. Ze kunnen je overal mee helpen.

Я бы провела небольшой ремонт в номерах - косметический и немного добавила мяса в завтраки, потому что из мяса были только одни сосиски, которые очень быстро разбирали))

A beautiful location with a pool overlooking the hills. The staff looked after us well with lots of food options.

Huge room, great views, really clean and super comfy bed! The staff were so lovely and helpful. Very pleased we chose somewhere with a pool!

We couldn’t get the water very hot in the shower (but may have been us doing something wrong?) and some of the towels maybe need an upgrade

I have stayed in many hotels in Ella and driven past Misty Hills many times but never considered staying. Now that I have I will never stay anywhere else. We stayed in a very nice room with a balcony and was right next to the pool. The large Queen size bed deserves a special mention due to it being the comfiest I have ever slept on in Sri Lanka in over 20 years. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and even got us some fresh aloe vera for sun burn. The infinity pool was outstanding and not as cold as I was expecting, you can chill and look at the views from the edge off the pool. There was secure underground parking where I could safely leave my motorcycle.

I really can say there was nothing I didn't like.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and the drinks were just as enjoyable. The view was truly stunning and made the whole experience even more special. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything we needed. Our room was perfectly clean and very comfortable, which made us feel at home right away. One thing we really appreciated was how helpful the team was in organizing transportation – even for longer distances, they were happy to assist. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, offering a great variety and a perfect start to each day. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again.

Very beautiful views from the hotel. Great location, close to the main street with many cafés and souvenir shops. There are tuk-tuks available nearby, and there’s also a shop right under the hotel.

Didn’t like that the hotel is a bit run-down, everything is old and somewhat dirty, but at the same time, for its price, it’s okay.

Die Aussicht war Mega, wir hatten ein normales Zimmer ohne Balkon gebucht und wurden bei Ankunft geupgraded wodurch wir wirklich eine spektakuläre Aussicht hatten welche man übrigens auch vom Pool aus genießen kann. Das Personal war ebenfalls sehr freundlich.

We only stayed 1 night and wish we could have stayed longer. The room was stunning with beautiful views over the valley. Bed was super comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was amazing. The pool was also really nice to cool down in. Breakfast was buffet style and was really good too. Probably one of the best value places we have ever stayed ! Definitely a very good place to stay if you’re in Ella, it’s only a 10 minute walk into town.

Absolutely loved our stay here at Misty Hills. We had the best room with four poster bed. So clean and tidy and big lovely balcony overlooking the hills and waterfall. The food and restaurant overlooking the hills were stunning. Staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to help us with anything. Recommend staying here. Regards Debbie and Nick Stephens

The concrete stairs in our bedrooms were dangerous with no balustrade. The bathrooms needed an upgrade. Breakfast was disappointing.

We booked to stay here for 3 nights, on arrival we were taken to our room, which was huge, but very tired and dated, the window in the bathroom harms no catch on so anyone could have got in there - we did report this and the handyman did put a catch on - there was no safe in the room, so we asked for one for our passports etc and they bought one up to the room and just plonked it in the wardrobe, so it wasn’t fixed to anything. The bed was so high and I’m only 5ft 2, so getting in it was quite funny. The towels were old and worn, they didn’t feel nice and the toiletries were two plastic pump bottles that had been refilled that many times that they looked pretty grim. The breakfast set up was strange, they had all the food in silver containers that you are supposed to plug in if you want the good kept hot, but none of them had plugs, so hot food was in them but just going cold. There was someone who was cooking omelettes, so they were fresh to order and very nice. The pool was nice and warm, but there aren’t enough sunbeds. We had booked a room with a balcony and an amazing view, what we got was a room with a balcony and mainly a view of the roof, which was a shame. Apparently some of the rooms have been renovated, so I would check beforehand as the ones that haven’t aren’t that great. Overall, the staff were lovely, the breakfast isn’t that great, unless you have a fresh omelette cooked in front of you, or scrambled/fried eggs, but the views from the pool area are really lovely, the hotel is set on a hill which is right on a tight corner, so the lorry’s blow their horns as they come up to the corner, that did start quite early in the morning, you could walk into Ella, but it’s a busy road, we just waited outside until a tuk tuk came, as they were so cheap.

Misty Hillis is located just outside Ella. 10 min walk from the town centre where all restaurants and shops are. We liked that it is not in a crowded area. The staff helped us arrange tuk tuks. The view of the pool over the valleys is breathtaking. Good breakfast with a big variety of food. The Manager was super helpful with any questions we had. The room was big!

Overall the facilities were great - our room was quite high up so didn't hear the cars, however bear in mind the building is located near the street so might hear cars and trucks passing by. Not many sun beds by the pool - maybe some more would have been great

Mooie ruime appartement kamer met 2 verdiepingen en breed balkon met prachtig uitzicht op de bergen eromheen. Klein maar leuk en fijn infinity Pool, waar je ook uitzicht op de bergen had. Goede eigenaar en vriendelijk service gericht personeel, die ons overal mee geholpen hebben en dingen goed geregeld hebben voor ons. Leuke restaurant ruimte met ook uitzicht op de bergen en lekker ontbijt met veel keuzes. Rustig en relaxte omgeving en hotel. Het personeel heeft ook kleding voor ons gewassen en kwam goed schoon en fris terug!

De oprit naar de garage waar we onze huurauto moesten parkeren was erg steil en de parkeer ruimte onder het hotel erg klein. Er konden maar ca 6 auto's geparkeerd worden en dan was het lastig in en uit rijden omdat er weinig ruimte was.
