Travelling from Hanoi to Cat Ba after a tedious bus-and-ferry ride, we arrived at Cat Ba Bay Vision Hotel late in the afternoon feeling thoroughly exhausted. The warm greeting from the front desk immediately put us at ease. However, our first morning came with a hilarious little disaster - we managed to lock ourselves out of our room while leaving the key inside the slot! Flustered, we ran down to reception. Instead of making us feel embarrassed, the staff laughed good-naturedly with us and resolved the issue in under two minutes. To top it off, they spent the next twenty minutes helping us organize an early-morning Lan Ha Bay kayaking tour at a discounted rate and even had takeaway coffee ready for us before sunrise. Sitting on our private balcony that night watching the fishing boat lights sparkle across the water made us realize this wasn't just a budget hotel - it was the highlight of our northern Vietnam journey.

Traveling with young kids can be chaotic, but staying here made everything easy. Being right in the center meant we could walk to dinner within 3 minutes without anyone getting tired. Staff were exceptionally kind to our children as well.

We rode in on motorbikes drenched from a sudden island shower. The staff immediately brought out towels for us and helped park our bikes safely. True Vietnamese warmth!

The rooftop view was unreal (seriously, bring a camera for sunset!). Staff were beyond helpful (they booked our ferry bus back to Hanoi in 2 minutes). A total win.

The hotel was not clean and appeared to have a serious problem with insects, including lice and ants. Even the bed sheets did not seem to be washed or properly cleaned. My stay was very unpleasant, and I was bitten by insects, which left marks and irritation on my body. I was unable to stay for more than half a day because of the poor hygiene and cleanliness. Overall, my experience was very disappointing.

לא יודעת אם אהבתי. את זה או לא אבל בהתחלה כשהגעתי אחרי נסיעה עם המזוודה כולי עייפה ישר אמר לי הבחור שם שאם אני רוצה אני יכולה לבטל כי כרגע הרבה אנשים במלון ויאטנמים והם רועשים, לא ביטלתי כי לא היה לי כח לחפש את עצמי, אמר לי גם שארוחת הבוקר לא טובה ושאני יכולה לבטל אותה, הסכמתי. המיקום היה הדבר היחיד שטוב.

בהתחלה לא שילמתי, עליתי לחדר וכשירדתי שילמתי לעובד אחר שניה בקבלה, לא זה שקיבל אותי ובסוף השהייה אמרו לי שלא שילמתי וביק'ו שאשלם שוב, לא הסכמתי, אמנם זה מלון מאד זול אז כנראה כך הרמה אבל החדר צאד מיושן, מלא יתושים בחדר.

This is a 1 star hotel so I didn't expect too much but I booked it because it is supposed to have great views. The front desk staff were nice, the room was spacious and the bed comfortable. It's located on the main street so close to everything.

For a one star hotel it is overpriced, except that it is supposed to have a wonderful view. The wonderful view is no more. There is now a massive development project where part of the bay used to be, so instead of a beautiful view you see a sea of houses (and construction cranes although those will go away), with the water and karsks far in the distance. This is not the hotel's fault but it should affect their pricing. The hotel is not dirty but it's also not super clean. There were a few bugs and it seemed whenever they cleaned it I found hair and wet dust bunnies laying around. Breakfast is very limited, so much so that I only ate there 2 out of the 4 nights I stayed. Little in the way of fruit or vegetables. But again, it's a one star hotel in the middle of the to
