Lovely hotel, didn't use the restaurant but looked good. Would stay longer if cheaper but perfect for an overnight stop Very wheelchair friendly.
Great location excellent facilties car parking a plus
Rooms looking tired but comfortable
Great value, easy to find. Excellent restaurant
Probably a small point but nowhere to put suitcases but still happy with our stay
Meal in restaurant was lovely
Noise from the room above us was a nuisance, sounded like elephants charging around.
A perfectly adequate room and very pleasant, helpful staff. The evening meals were very good. The room price and food prices were good value. The free parking was much appreciated, and there were bus stops nearby allowing us to go into town without the hassle of finding a parking space (which are expensive in Whitby).
The shower was over a bath which had very high sides. As an elderly person I had great difficulty getting into and out of the bath. Unsuitable for any with limited mobility. There is no lift and our room was on the first floor, with 17 stairs up which to lug our cases; however, due to a problem with the electronic door lock (flat battery) a young lady from reception arrived and kindly helped with this. I believe accessible rooms are provided but they were unavailable for our stay. The breakfast was rather disorganised and food quality variable from day to day.
Super friendly staff, provided second room key upon request at the reception since I was with another guest. Full separate bedding was done for both guests as requested beforehand. I wasn't able to try the food on this occasion so cannot give an opinion on this. Room was tidy and windows effective in keeping out cold. Worth noting that you need to insert the room card in the designated slot on the wall as you come in to the room to get electricity! Good way to avoid wasting energy
I needed a hot bath to relieve sore muscles from a hike and tried to do this around 6.30ish in the morning, but the hot water tap for the bath was not giving full hot water. The max setting only brought it to lukewarm. Though later in the morning, I noticed that the hot water was clearly working and I wondered if that's because the hot water was turned off during the night. I had no time to take another bath.
Breakfast great, evenning meal great, staff even better. All the staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and courteous, coudn't have been better.
Nothing.
Was really clean room , great service
Good parking on site. Friendly staff, clean rooms.
Pub area looking tired. Good choice of breakfast however not good quality.. Sausage was hard, bacon very salty and fatty, hash brown full of oil.
Good location
Under staffed, very slow delivery of food,no pedigree
Clean , quite
Nothing
all was good will be booking again
nothing
Spacious, minimalistic. Tea facilities.
Fair few cobwebs on ceiling. Poor layout of shower in wet room for trying to Shower daughter. Chair not in right position.
Everything nothing
Excellent location for us , nice big car park too .
Perfect location , will definitely return
It was ok for one night
Not very clean
The staff were lovely, polite and helpful. The location is really handy too, not to far to walk or cheap enough in a taxi.
N/A
Clean beds and linen
Got only one bath towel for 2 people.
Good value accommodation with free parking
Location
Beds were very uncomfortable. The room was past its best. The pub had run out of moat food and drink, so both were limited. Breakfast was below satisfactory, with poor quality coffee and porridge in tubs that required hot water being added from the urn, but the water not hot enough to soften the pts or dissolve the block of hard milk powder.
The staff, tge room and the pub plus tge location
Room was clean
WiFi was hit and miss. Bed not very comfortable
Free parking, rooms clean and tidy, easy check in . Friendly staff
Food and drinks on site are a bit expensive, but, did have a 2 course offer
We only booked penny hedge and also a table reserved as it was advertised to have hawkstone beef pie and lager, when we arrived pie had sold out and only bottled hawkstone no draft.
Staff
The room was excellent and the meals were exceptional. The staff were pleasant and friendly
Simple and easy clean great for breakfast and evening meals and drinks staff where faultless from breakfast in the morning to welcoming in the evening
Staff friendly, location was good, free parking a bonus
Not enough staff in the restaurant, max of 2 waiting on staff which included bar staff. Lot of complaints around us regarding missed orders, drinks not arriving, food orders not been taken. To sum up the place was chaos
Excellent breakfast at a very reasonable price
Good location, friendly helpful staff. Good food.
Able to walk into whitby
Price of wine
The staff were so helpful and friendly.
The standard of food presentation was terrible not to the standard of previous marston inns we have visited and the food was warm not hot. My dish arrived with components missing. Your staff handled the problem to the best of their ability.
The whole place, location, quietness
Food was slightly overcooked and hard ie: Chicken pie, bacon and sausage
Wet clean and staff were excellent
A bit tatty as in scuff marks on walls - no lift if your upstairs like we were and small mould on edge of bath but tbh it was spotless
very clean and quiet easy access close to a supermarket .good value for money in Whitby
nothing
Convenient & lovely staff
Staff friendly rooms ver big and comfy bed
Rooms of an acceptable standard
The food at the restaurant
Rooms spacious, clean and tidy.Good coffee and tea facilities.
Everything was good
Everything was wonderful.
Comfortable Quiet Well located
Check in slow as in the bar and not many staff
Staff are always friendly and helpful, perfect location , clean and tidy rooms . Gave us extra room key for my dad's room in case of emergency.
Not a big issue but had a last minute room change for us to the upstairs but thankfully kept my disabled dad downstairs in accessible room which was great .
Everything. Polite, friendly staff. Excellent food. Clean, comfortable accomodation.
Nothing.
Awesome location
Easy parking location and bus ride from Whitby
Lovely clean comfortable room, Handley little tea/coffee station. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to help. Nice big carpark and outdoor areas, the bar is lovely with a great atmosphere. Really enjoyed our stay as did other family members staying in 2 other rooms.
Nothing to dislike, everything was perfect.
Lovely room, very clean. Reception staff friendly.
Excellent location Friendly staff Clean Quiet
Nothing
Excellent location for exploring Whitby and surrounding area. Comfortable accommodation and good food. Plenty of car parking. Supermarket next door.
Staff during the evening seemed harassed and unhappy
Einfaches Hotel. Es fehlt so einiges. Ruhig. Guter Parkplatz. Supermarkt in der Nähe. Klima zu kalt.
Good service from staff
Walking distance from Whitby
I booked a room requesting a cot, as a Mom traveling alone with an infant I wanted to ensure this wouldn't be a problem. I tried 3 differed ways to contact you directly. No one answered my call, email, or chat. I even asked booking to reach out to you, and tbey also never received a response. As I couldn't reach you I was too anxious to want to continue without knowing there was somewhere safe for my child to sleep. So I booked elsewhere and asked for a refund. You have ignored every method of communication other than denying my refund. I will be avoiding this group of hotels and would advise others to do the same.
Everything from staff to room to food
Good breakfast . We had our evening meals here too . Room clean , good facilities. Quite room over looking the car park .
Mattress was too hard for us , resulting in us not sleeping very well.
the lady staff were very good and showed us what to do for breakfast and evening meal
the room was very basic the beds were small in width hard to sleep in , in the afternoon we went in to the inn for a quick drink , we sat at a table near a window , we did notice a lot of table were not cleared of used glasses and plates . we went to our room to freshen up for evening meal , and returned to the restaurant two hours later , to find our old used glasses were still at the table we sat at previously , this gave us the warning signs , how ever we decided to eat here and found the food quite nice good and hot , we were there for 1.1/2 hours and still the table from lunch had not been cleaned and freshened , the two boys serving seamed to be 'rabbits in headlights ' just talking and having a laugh , but not walking the floor clearing up tables ready for the next people . not a good experience
Always comfortable and clean.
The toilet and sink are too close together.
Pub on same site. Check in easy. Friendly staff. Good location.
Waiting staff need better training. Breakfast server was openly chewing a wad of gum. Slow service and disorganised way young waiter took orders at dinner. Sticky floor in pub. Dirty walls and bar counter. Insufficient cleaning of restaurant tables Restaurant chairs were dirty, stained and worn. Loud (damaged) floor on stairs to rooms. Lack of storage in room. No charging points in room. Room needs upgrade.
The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful The breakfast there was choice and cooked fresh to order Good location and was easily walk into Whitby and the food in the restaurant was excellent Would definitely return again
Drawers in the room for storage would of been nice but overall the room was clean and comfortable
We stay here every time we visit Whitby. The accommodation is of a high standard and the staff are both friendly and helpful. The location has parking from where it is easy to visit places of interest in Whitby and surrounding areas.
Location, food and friendly staff
Bin in bathroom wasn't empty from previous people
It was just average.
I didn't like the fact that the orange juice, at breakfast, was heavily watered down. Heavily! A case fir Trade Description Act.
Pub begging on site was excellent
It's a little tied and is in desperate need of some TLC
有冷氣,價格合理。
有年代感,整潔度普通。
Very clean and well organised
Breakfast service could have been a bit more efficient on one of the days and they soon ran out of pastries. Quite a limited continental breakfast selection but nonetheless superb value for money.
Staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a great location for Whitby, rooms clean and cosy.
I would like more breakfast choice of different fruits and yoghurts due to my dietary restrictions but my husband loved the breakfasts .
Room was very nice Television bit small. there was no USB or C port charger. Other than perfect for a family. If they can introduce little something to eat that would be great at the same price or less.
Television size. Other than that place location was nice Easy to reach
Lovely clean hotel
Nothing, all good
Its a table service , all you would expect for an english breakfast. Alternatves were available if required. Good sized airy room with enough tables to suit all families. Rooms easily accessible via central corridor and key cards,
Room needed redecoration, attention to bath sealant mould, and only one bath sheet and hand towel for both of us in this double room. The bed which was two singles together was comfortable and linen fresh and clean. We had a party of 4 families some arrived later and were given the incorrect rooms. The manager Keiron refused to help whilst on his break despite my returning twice to request him. It wasnt untill 10 pm that he involved himself despite children 5 and 7 needing their beds. Also unhelpful on use of blue light cards, and meal offers. Rules is Rules
Clean tidy, quite close to the front
Extra beds weren’t the comfiest, but manageable
Breakfast good Hedge needs trimming so you can see hotel from main road
Cleanliness and comfort of the room, great breakfast including freshly made omelette.
Perhaps the coffee could be a bit stronger!
Visiting relatives therefore only spent time overnight. Didn't eat at the venue
Room 20, Window didn't open. Air con no instructions. WiFi, Went to log onto the site and couldn't get to the password stage as a Marstons questionnaire popped up, it wanted to know all my personal details which I didn't want to give. Therefore NO FREE WIFI
Good place to whitby but not close
Good location for us, easy parking, comfortable room.
Room 1. Right next to the main entrance so every time someone entered or left the inner door slammed shut, annoying! The toilet is too close to the sink so you cannot sit on the toilet without twisting sideways, annoying!
Lovely spacious room, we had a family room due to accessibility needs. Room was clean and bed comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities. Easily accessible for a wheelchair or electric scooter. Restaurant offered good variety of food at reasonable prices. Easy check-in and free parking. Staff very helpful. Ideally located for visiting local area.
Unfortunately the pillows were very uncomfortable and as we were in a room close to the front entrance of the building you can hear the door bang constantly when people are leaving the building early in the morning. The location is a bit of a distance from Whitby town so not really walkable but only short drive.
N/a
Amount of TV channels.
Not much, other than the location and there was a bath in the room. I expect more for that price.
The rooms were only just adequate and everything was done to bare minimum standard. The furniture in the pub was grubby and dirty and the tables were sticky and rarely clean.
Bien centré. Prix/qualité correct.
Clean and comfortable
Took a while to check in. The food in the pub/restaurant took 50 minutes, the steak was well done when asked for medium rare. The veggie burger was burnt.
Staff are incredibly friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We always have a lovely stay.
The property had free parking and an easy check in
Some lights didn’t work, the bath took a while to get hot, the beds were more like 1/4 then singles
Staff and facilities
False advertising of rooms, i booked 4 family rooms which should have a double bed and 2 single beds. What i got was a double bed and a very uncomfortable sofa bed
Nice and clean air conditioned
Good location, comfortable room, pleasant staff.
Nothing!
Food good, room good but basic. Shower head in bathroom very dirty.
Breakfast was good. Rooms needed updating there was NO wardrobe or drawers. Bedrooms really look run down.cleanliness in bathroom and bedroom not a problem
Basically the accommodation was not value for money. The furniture in the dining room was shabby and needed replacing. Basically would not recommend this hotel to my friends.
It was good actually I would stay there again and good value for money.
It's a bit of a walk into Whitby but taxi's we're only £8-£10 same as the bus but dropped you off exactly where you wanted to be. So yes I would stay here again.
Ideal location, food just right.

Modern accommodation. Good restaurant.
Spacious room but hardly any furniture, despite plenty of space; eg ony one chair for a double room, no wardrobe, laughably small bedside units. Most things had to be left on the floor. Limited selection of beer in the bar.
Easy parking and reasonably close to the town centre
Nothing
Clean , tidy , welcoming
Nothing
Clean & tidy Warm & friendly staff. Nice rooms Good location.
Could've been a bit cheaper .
I booked this because it was close to Whitby and had parking.
The window didn't close properly, for a 3 night stay there were 2 breakfast tea bags.
Very clean. Peaceful and comfortable
We don’t have anything negative to say about the property
The staff were fantastic and welcoming,
The property’s was great!
Clean, good food & location
Nothing
The food was cooked to perfection and the pub was very cosy.
