Uncomfortable mattress. Our first room, a Tweedie Suite, had a strange unpleasant smell (also cracked window pane) and after raising this we were moved to another room. We had stayed maybe 3 or 4 times before and felt this stay was not as good as we’d hoped for. You also have to go outside to get to the bar now. No one was in reception on arrival or departure.

Spacious family room. Clean and tidy. Nice bathroom. Close to all Grasmere had to offer.

The breakfast was super lean and not much of a variety.

Central setting in village within grounds. Quiet, clean, very comfortable beds. Very nice breakfast.

Bar would have had nice ambience, but at least one member of staff was making as much noise as possible smashing empty glass bottles - sounded like a factory!

Staff, location, breakfast, transport and it was clean and tidy. All was so beautiful and lovely.

Sharing the terrace/patio with 4 other guests wasn't really ideal with taking my dog. I was expecting the rooms to have individual patio areas which would have made it so much better.

STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD. SERVICE WAS A LITTLE SLOW BUT NOTHING MAJOR AS QUITE BUSY.

ROOMS WERE STARTING TO LOOK TIRED BUT CLEAN AND STILL VERY COMFORTABLE

Good location,bus stops within walking distance, local co op, coffees and ice cream readily available, parking at tweedies is free and easy,rooms are lovely,comfortable bed,lovely shower and bathroom,tea and coffee facilities in the room,breakfast was lovely plenty of choice,tweedies bar is great, lovely garden to sit and pub restaurant does gorgeous food.

We parked under a tree one night and the next morning it was sticky and full of sap,more our fault for not realising

Beautiful decor, very clean room with quality fixtures, linen and towels. Good supply of tea and biscuits in room. Breakfast was tasty, sausage great and plenty with toast. Staff very friendly. Great parking

The restaurant would be ok for a lunch or snack but not enough for a nice dinner with ambience .Sash windows on our room need restoring they are flaking and don’t look very nice

Loved the locaation, plenty of parking space. Never saw a person at the reception but I must admit we never needed any.The key and instructions were available and we had no problems. The room was very clean, quiet, coffee, tea and lovely biscuits available, bathroom large and very clean, hot water and shower fine. Breakfast was excellent, you can choose from a variety, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Really good. There is a garden area with benches and umbrellas, perfect to have a meal or your own picnic and drink outside.

Grumpy restaurant gatekeeper - particularly unhelpful and surly even though we had booked a table and through admin error on their part this was not put in the diary.

Very nice location right in the heart of Grasmere with free parking and a EV charger. Great that there is the bar & restaurant attached. We had a lovely meal on our first night and then enjoyed the live music in the bar.

Some chilled water in the room would have been nice.

The check-in instructions were easy to follow, making arrival smooth and stress-free. The location was nice and convenient, and having a designated parking space was a great bonus. The bed was comfortable and clean, which made for a good night’s sleep. The internet was fast and worked well for the TV once we figured out how to use it.

Overall, the self check-in process was straightforward and worked well. However, there were several issues that impacted our stay. It was quite difficult to locate where breakfast was being served, as there was no clear signage or guidance provided. The room itself needed better attention to detail — there were cobwebs present, sealant around the bath appeared poorly finished, and there were no bathrobes provided. Additionally, the towels were damp on arrival, which was disappointing. The overall finish of the room felt incomplete, with visible holes in the wall where a TV had been mounted and curtains that were both dirty and damaged. These details gave the impression that the room had not been properly maintained. Breakfast was also disappointing. Black pudding was listed as part of the offering, however it was not provided, which felt misleading. The hot tub was a nice feature and appreciated, but the cover was extremely heavy and difficult to manage. Finally, there was no one available at reception upon departure to raise these concerns in person. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the property would benefit from improved cleanliness, maintenance, and clearer communication for guests.

Clean, comfortable and reasonable value

Unfortunately, the water supplies to the hotel was disrupted during our stay which meant we had no water on the first morning of our stay. There was also significant noise disturbance during the second night of our stay (10pm - 5am) due to BT works on the road outside the hotel. Whilst neither of these incidents were within the hotel’s control it ultimately spoiled our stay in this lovely place. The absence of a full time reception at the hotel also made it difficult to follow up with the hotel to understand what was going on.

Tweedies is such a good venue. Excellent B&B, the room was especially comfortable & clean with beautiful local Bath House products. The staff are very warm & welcoming and the breakfast is particularly good. We'd highly recommend 👌🏻

The only pub in the village so to get a drink and order food, you had to queue every time. Sometimes queue was half an hour

Second time stopping here! It's just that good! Location, value due money,rooms, staff, bar/food all excellent. Probably work be back again at some point....

Beautiful hotel in the centre of Grasmere. Rooms and bathrooms were big. Breakfast rooms is beautiful. The food is excellent and the service great . The beds were comfy and the blinds helpful to reduce light in the early morning .

A room fan in the heat would have been welcome

It felt like lots of corners were being cut with staffing levels, hotel and ground maintenance, room make ups during the stay. The environment could very quickly deteriorate if it isn’t well looked after. Expected more from the price of the room. Staff appeared very rushed and not customer facing several presented as abrupt and loud. Continental breakfast was poor. Poor choice, tinned fruit. Carpets in room smelled of dogs.

We were told that they have already asked the housekeeper to put a fan on our room but when we got back to our room theres no fan. When we did follow up about it we were told that all fan are already in use. We did request that fan night before. Would be better if they did check the weather forecast so that they have prepared enough fan for every room. We were not able to sleep property as we are sweating!

Great location in the centre of Grasmere, but in generous grounds. Enjoyed a bit of luxury whilst doing the coast to coast walk.

Room was a lovely size - I found out later we had been upgraded. Pleasant staff; lovely gardens and location for Grasmere Centre. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was wonderful, with lots of charm and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely views. Breakfast was lovely, with good choice and very well cooked.

Not much at all. A fridge would have been nice in a suite and being really picky - I would have preferred the bathroom fan to not have stayed on quite as long after the light went off, as very noisy in the night after being to the bathroom

Clean, aesthetically pleasing, fun design choices. Outdoor food and drink area might be it's best feature, beautifully located and very pleasant on an evening.

Very warm in the heat of summer, no air conditioning or fan in room. Didn't get good rest as a result. Also, has internet TV but won't connect to the internet.

Stunning building with great decor. The location for what I needed it was perfect, on site parking a real plus. The overall standard was excellent, reflected in a fair price. The evening meal in the restaurant was superb, as was breakfast, with exceptional service from the staff we met.

We were grateful to have been given an upgrade to a large room with comfortable bed, crisp clean linen and immaculate bathroom. The lounge, breakfast room and common areas were lovely.

I would check in future to request a non dog friendly room.

Its a shame you had to walk outside of the hotel to get to the Bar and restuarant. We ended up buying our drink from the Bar then bringing them into the lovely sitting room of the hotel as this was far more comfortable than the Bar.

המיקום חלומי! פיסת גן עדן! המלון פשוט נפלא, מעוצב בטוב טעם במיקום מדהים!!! נקי, מבריק ומצוחצח. ארוחת בוקר מדהימה והכל בסביבה שהיא פשוט גן עדן. למלון פאב פעיל אך הוא אינו פתוח עד השעות הקטנות של הלילה כך שהרעש לא הפריע. הצוות מדהים. כל כך נחמדים שאין מילים. מדובר במלון ובמקום שהייתי מגיעה אליו במיוחד. The location is absolutely dreamy — a little piece of paradise! The hotel is simply wonderful, beautifully designed with great taste and set in a truly stunning location. Everything is spotlessly clean and impeccably maintained. The breakfast is excellent, and the surrounding scenery is nothing short of paradise. The hotel has an active pub, but it does not stay open into the early hours of the morning, so noise was never an issue. The staff are amazing — incredibly kind, warm, and helpful. Words can hardly describe how lovely they are. This is the kind of hotel and destination I would happily travel to specifically to visit again.
