Breakfast and quality of room
None
The range of breakfast options was very good, a good selection. The 'Full Hereford' set you up well for the day. The room was very well equipped, with everything you might need. We particularly appreciated the fridge.
Being in a separate block from the hotel, did make you feel slightly isolated, and not actually staying in the hotel, but the room was very good.
Perfect location (near cathedral) - v attractive suite in No.25 - excellent breakfast - pleasant staff - thoughtful touches (welcome mini-hamper, L’Occitane toiletries)
Limited car parking - quite expensive
Excellent location, excellent stuff, excellent breakfast, excellent scenery by the river, super clean.
Rooms not so spacious. Also there was a disturbing sound in my room but the stuff was more than helpful and accommodated me in another room (actually the suite) without additional charge. Much appreciated that.
Room very nice. Breakfast excellent wonderful choice. Good parking nearby. Very close to cathedral

Lovely property - loved the restaurant and outside area

מלון נהדר. הקפדה על הפרטים הקטנים. קיבלנו פינוקים נחמדים. צוות מעולה אדיב ויעיל
Lovely staff. Great location just around the corner from Hereford Cathedral. Very pleasant modern lounge extension with lovely garden overlooking water.
Room was exactly as specified but teeny tiny and not cheap (£177.00- although that did include a delicious breakfast). I’m sure the more expensive rooms would have been lovely as our room was nicely decorated and very clean but you would then be getting into more than we wanted to spend.
Amazing facilities, very clean, absolutely amazing service from all the staff. Breakfast was excellent
the Hereford breakfast was exceptional the breakfast vista was classic looking out over the moat. the rooms were really individual and very comfortable and clean. the staff were extremely accommodating as we had the rooms for a wedding nearby. would definitely use again if visiting the area.
Quintessentially English with some lovely touches of Herefordshire.

Excellent breakfast and friendly staff
Breakfast was fantastic, staff were really sweet. Location is very pretty, and my room - 11 - was lovely. Parking was very convenient too.
The location was perfect for the cathedral and town. It was clean and everything worked well. We were in the town house rather than the main building and were warned the room would be smaller, but it was perfectly adequate and the en-suite worked well. It was a sunny morning so walking over for breakfast wasn’t a problem and it was delicious. We loved the complementary basket and took advantage of the sherry, which was a lovely touch.
A little nervous about where we might need to leave the car. However this wasn’t a problem at all.
Great breakfast friendly & efficient staff
Clean room, good staff.
Room 21 is right next to the door which kept opening over night. It was noisy.
Modern and calm
Could do with air conditioning and the area before the conservatory is rather dated
Everything apart from the seagulls - unable to sleep or sit outside, such a shame
See above....can something be done to stop them nesting on the roof? Netting or spikes?
Rooms are well appointed. Nice outlook from the dining area. Staff very helpful.
Car park bit small. 2nd stay and wasn't in main building again.
Locatie
Cosykamer, mooi ingericht maar erg klein en geen airco. Er verblijven was dus niet fijn!!
went for a wedding so booked a number of rooms.. the hotel management and rooms were excellent.. Breakfasts were very good and the support from staff was friendly and very helpful
The room (a Townhouse Suite in a separate house down the road) was spacious. Breakfast was good. The location is excellent - very convenient for everything in Hereford.
The room was very old fashioned and everything was a bit worn out. Service at breakfast was slow. There was no-one at Reception when we arrived and it took a long time to find anyone. Parking is difficult. We got woken up in the middle of the night by a group of ex-SF geezers coming back from a night on the lash. It absolutely was not worth £295 per night.
Castle Hotel staff are amazing, really polite and couldn't do enough to help. The bar/breakfast room is really nice - the breakfast was great, unfortunately they don't do an evening meal but they do let you order food in and provide you with you with plates and cutlery. We had a lovely curry from around the corner from the hotel, which we ate in the garden which is nice. The hotel is clean and tidy and a lovely place to stay, also, the cathedral is 2 minutes walk away. We had a lovely stay thank you.
Nothing to dislike about our stay.
Breakfast was very good room and location good
Was very warm but can’t help the weather!
It was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely air-conditioned restaurant which overlooked the duck pond and garden. A 3 minute walk from the Cathedral and town centre. Brilliant breakfast. Really enjoyed my stay. Had its own car park.
Can't think of anything thing.... other than the noisy seagull early on the morning 😀
Proximity to Hereford Cathedral and other locations. Very clean Excellent staff
Sea gulls pestering for food
Great location near to Cathedral and on river. Breakfast was excellent and good service. Lovely room and comfortable bed
Beautiful hotel in a central location for Hereford. Great bar and restaurant by the river.
The breakfast was only table service. I would have liked some fresh fruit or a yogurt and nothing was offered except a hot meal or porridge
Nice friendly family run Hotel
Good location.
We weren’t allowed to use the facilities on the evening we arrived due to a ‘private event’ which wasn’t told to us before booking - meaning we couldn’t use the bar / restaurant.
Breakfast excellent
Wall paper peeling in the corridor. Few flowers indoors and in the garden.
The bedroom was compact as described, the bed was very comfy and the fan was on ,which was a nice touch as it was very hot . We liked the fact they support local businesses with their produce in the bedroom and dinning room . The staff at breakfast were very hardworking and lovely .
The service at breakfast was too slow 45mins ! the staff were great and went above and beyond apologising but they needed more staff .The breakfast was very tasty when it finally arrived .
Location fabulous and very friendly and attentive staff
All good no complaints
Location was good. Facilities good.
We were in an annexe which did not have a lift.
Great breakfast, I highly recommend the Hereford Sausages. Friendly staff
Location, breakfast, parking (although that is limited so I was lucky) Very friendly helpful staff
Limited bar facilities, (very early closing). Room was a bit warm and the fan didn't really help. As the window opened onto the roof of lower part of building i couldn't leave open overnight.
Breakfast was delicious fruit and yogurt, but the service was extremely slow
As always staff were amazing - particularly Will the barman whose negronis remain legendary.
Really needed aircon in the bedroom on this trip but the fam was helpful.
Lovely location, we booked a Suite which was very comfortable the hotel and surrounding buildings are very interesting - super close to the Cathedral and Town Centre. Lovely walks close by and good selection of nice places to eat
Only minus was no evening meals, you need to go out or order in
The Castle is the place to stay if on business/visiting Hereford! Staff were very helpful, with a smile and make great coffee! Rooms had little extras like fresh milk, bottles water in glass, crisps if you were peckish and even a cherry for an evening tipple! Breakfast room was lovely and fresh especially given the weather with the All Hereford brekkie a must. Outside seating area was relaxing given the surrounding trees and quietness despite being in an area with surrounding houses not that you would know they were there. Handy for the main town a few minutes walk away also. Hard to find anything wrong or worth mentioning that detracted from the hotel. Will be my priority booking when visiting Hereford where rooms allows! Great job and worth 5 stars alone for the staff's helpfullness.
Nothing. Great place to stay !
An absolutely delightful hotel in every way. Thank you ☺️
Nice property and location.
Too hot, rubbish fan and room very small. No evening food but even a simple bar menu very poor!
Location
Thought I had booked a suite in an Hotel but discovered we were two floors up- no lift- in B&B annex.
Lovely rooms, fantastic location and excellent breakfast.
Nothing really.
Fabulous hotel in a great location in a superbly renovated historic building, excellent breakfast and cool bar.

Great location
Window catch broken
Room was spacious and well appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast selection was varied and delicious.
The room was pleasant

helpful staff who took my case to my room and let me park outside - great breakfast - close to restaurants - option to have take aways in the restaurant area gorgeous view over the river from the breakfast room
maybe need some kind of net curtain in the room for when getting dressed parking tight to get into if you have a big car food was great would have been nice to have the option of some light food in the evenings
we liked the location with the lake and town center. breakfast was good, we invited friends and they enjoyed their meal. the room was comfortable and spacious.
There wasn't anything we particularly didn't like. When I asked to check in I was sent to the restaurant and then taken back to reception which was a bit confusing, but not a problem.
A very smart and comfortable hotel. Spacious and well appointed room. Lighting a little dim - bedside light barely strong enough to read by. Very clean and modern bathroom. Excellent shower. Breakfasts were excellent and staff attentive and polite. Sunday lunch unremarkable. Location excellent. Dining room overlooks what remains of the castle moat. Castle Street leads directly to the cathedral, less than a 5 minute walk away. Small hotel car park disappoints when full. Overall, very good.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location with cosy rooms, well equipped with thoughtful touches. Very traditional in keeping with surroundings but rooms still felt modern and elegant. The cute little welcome hamper and decanter of sweet liquor was a lovely addition.
Thought the breakfast would have had more a hotel buffet vibe but it was just one option off the menu. Very nice all the same so no complaints.
Very friendly staff, great location and beautiful building.
Room was small but we did know that when booking.
Close to cathedral for singing the services
Slow service at breakfast and toast served long after hot breakfasts
I made a mistake with my booking and the staff were great. I really enjoy staying at this Hotel while im in Hereford. I wouldn't stay anywhere else .
breakfast was very nice blanket as alternative to duna great staff - very helpful
options for dinner
Friendly staff, lovely room and delicious breakfast.
The grass being mown when eating breakfast outside and a rogue seagull eating the remains of breakfast on tables that should have been cleared.
Welcoming, comfortable and handy. Pond-side beer in the garden bar in the sun was a highlight.
Friendly, helpful welcome from reception, car parking was possible (although limited), excellent breakfast served in a bright conservatory overlooking the river.
Small car park, we were unsure if we would be able to park on arrival, we were very pleased that we did get a space!
Lovely building. Great location
Parking was a bit tight. But still got a space
very delicious breakfast and spotless clean room. free parking is another merit.
nothing
The hotel itself was lovely , however we were put in the townhouse down the road which was not a patch on the hotel . I felt £170 for what we stayed in was a rip off !
I had booked it for my partner as a Valentines present . The room / building was so disappointing. Had I known that was where we were staying I would never have booked it .
Location, extremely quiet, car parking
Room was rather small and struggled with the lighting system. Quite expensive for the room.
The position of the Hotel was superb. The room was great and the breakfast was extremely good.
Nothing
Great location by the river and near the cathedral
Didn’t offer dinner
Breakfast was great and the Hamper in the Room was a lovely touch.
it would have been great to be able to have dinner in the roomm
Very comfortable and attention to detail.
Though the room was small, it had everything we needed and was comfortable, really appreciated being able to open the window. The welcome pack was lovely.
Car parking was a real problem, the car park was full when we arrived and it was too small to comfortably turn around in. No information re time and location for breakfast was given, given wrong directions to room
Breakfast was very good, also the room where breakfast is served is stunning
Absolutely nothing, everything was spot on
Clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation just a short walk from the Cathedral and city centre. Breakfast was delicious and the decanter of sherry in the room was a welcome bonus!

Elegant hotel and very kind staff
Nice welcome hamper of local produce. Good bath products and good shower.
Bath screen allowed water to get on the floor. Had to switch off the noisy fridge overnight. Room was bijou in size.
Very nice hotel in a great location close to the river and Cathedral. Lovely breakfasts with locally produced food.
Fridge in room was very noisy on first night. Sorted out on second night be hotel reception.
Beautiful location, great breakfast, very comfortable and friendly staff.
Great location and lovely room. Nice bright restaurant room for breakfast
Signage for parking could be clearer as this was hard to find on arrival
Clean and comfortable. Location excellent . Great breakfast.
Rooms very hot
Location, history and staff

Super Lokalizacja i bardzo miły personel polecam zdecydowanie
Amazing room with extra little touches, teas, welcome snacks, fresh milk etc
That you can't have dinner at the hotel
Everything is quality, staff amazing
Lovely spacious room, enjoyed the breakfast - probably one of the best sausages I have enjoyed for a while. Also a thanks to your young staff who were very helpful.
Not a lot to complain about but the furniture in the main lounge of the hotel where the wake was being held is starting to look a bit shabby.
Breakfast was excellent, made from scratch and I was gluten free and they had a wide variety
Liked everything
Great location the staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast menu was excellent and the food was fresh and delicious.
We were in the lift on our second day and it seemed to drop suddenly and stopped. We were shocked and called the alarm several times expecting someone to speak to us. No one answered the alarm and after a short while it started and the door opened. Needless to say we didn’t use the lift again
Lovely riverside restaurant for breakfast, close to the centre of Hereford
Room was too warm even when we turned our heating off in February
Breakfast choices and ingredients are superb.
No dinner available in the hotel restaurant, sadly.
Castle House is in a fine location, of course, which I much appreciated. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and businesslike. Breakfast was very good.
I would have liked more pillows and a more substantial eiderdown. One tiny point: one plug didn't work.
Die Atmosphäre welche das Team vor Ort vermittelt. Heimelig, familiär, sehr freundlich und liebevoll.
It was a very pleasant stay

We stay here every year and are never disappointed. The location is just right for our needs and has a car park. The breakfast is cooked to order and first class
Centrally located and very close to the Cathedral. Free parking available. Room very well equipped
My room was in a separate building which I wasn’t aware of when booking. Had to walk to the main building for breakfast in the rain
The staff were great, always smiling and welcoming.
The room was adequate but because of my age, medical conditions etc it was, at times, awkward to move comfortably.
Stunning location near the cathedral. The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. Spotless, spacious and pleasant room, very well equipped with nice touches such as a hamper and fresh milk for any teas or coffees. Also having an iron and ironing board appreciated. Dressing gowns too if needed. Excellent value. Tasty breakfast made to order, the eggs on my eggs benedict were cooked to perfection, with what felt like quality ingredients. Highly chuffed with this stay and will return.
Parking situation stressful (no spaces left in their car park and someone parked in a way that made it difficult to turn around). Please note: if you park nearby at a car park like I did, it defaults to 12hours max, but you can overwrite this by specifying the end date and time. Sash window rattled with the wind, room on the warm side.
