The lodges were set in wonderful grounds which were kept in great condition by the staff. The waiters & staff in general couldn't do enough for you. The menu provides food choices for everyone, but I have to say the Sri Lankan curry was really good value for money & tasted fantastic.

We had a superior chalet which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was spacious had a huge comfortable bed, large bathroom great aircon and overlooked the lake. Close to the enormous swimming pool. Staff were extremely polite. Great breakfast.

Serving of meals was a little slow in the restaurant.

Die Lage vom Hotel zu Ausflugsmöglichkeiten z.B. in Sigiriya oder Restaurants in der Nähe ist sehr schlecht. Der Pool war jeden Tag dreckig. Da dieser direkt an der Küche lag hat es leider auch immer gestunken. Die Abflussabdeckungen waren teilweise durchgebrochen und Fliesen waren lose. Hohes Verletzungsrisiko insbesondere für Kinder. Viele streunende Hunde in der Anlage, hat sehr gestört. Die Kommunikation mit den Mitarbeitenden war ebenfalls sehr schwerfällig, da teilweise nichtmal das einfachste Englisch verstanden wurde. Das Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung. Geht aber auch besser. Wir würden nicht wieder kommen, Preis-Leistung zu schlecht.

The resort is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It has a beautiful, spacious reception area, as well as plenty of room for parking and manoeuvring, which is particularly convenient if you are travelling by car. There is an on-site restaurant serving a good selection of local dishes, with Indian and Western influences. On certain days, they also offer a buffet. We would definitely recommend dining at the resort, as there are not many good alternatives in the immediate area. The rooms are actually individual cottages scattered throughout the gardens, which gives the whole property a very pleasant and private feel. Some of them overlook a small lake, adding even more charm to the surroundings. Our accommodation was very spacious, with a huge bathroom and a particularly impressive shower featuring a panoramic roof over the shower, allowing you to enjoy the natural surroundings while still having complete comfort and privacy. Overall, it is a lovely place for anyone looking for a quiet stay surrounded by nature, with spacious accommodation and the convenience of having a restaurant directly on the property.

Overall, we had a very positive experience. Don’t be discouraged by the location: although the resort is only a few minutes away from the main road, getting there is not particularly intuitive at first. However, its secluded location is also one of its main strengths, as it provides a great sense of privacy and tranquillity. The resort also has a swimming pool, which is a nice addition and a great place to relax while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Se nota que es un hotel que hace muchos años estaba bien. Ahora necesitaría muchísimo mantenimiento (grietas, humedades, clavos sueltos, grifos en mal estado, etc)

O sítio era lindo, calmo, a roupa de cama e de banho estava super limpa e o quarto também! A piscina soube super bem nestes dias quentes.

Os quartos precisam de alguma manutenção, apesar de não cheirar a mofo e não entrar bichos, o quarto tinha humidade e algumas rachadelas nas paredes!

Bellissima struttura, camere molto spaziose, pulite e accoglienti. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente, fantastico soggiornare in una struttura così piena di animali: scimmiette, tacchini, galline, cagnolini. Se sentite rumori sulla vostra testa: tranquilli è solo una piccola scimmietta ;)

Il cibo potrebbe essere migliorato per mantenere alto il livello della struttura.

Bellissima location immersa nella natura, le villette sono indipendenti e l’intero complesso trasmette relax e serenità. La piscina è molto grande e offre la possibilità di passare mezza giornata in totale relax. Personale molto gentile e disponibile.

Ristorante non eccezionale, pochi piatti per lo più non tipico della zona e costo più alto rispetto ai ristoranti della zona. La piscina non è sorvegliata e nonostante regole chiare non c’è nessuno che gestisca gli ospiti che non le rispettano. Sfalcio dell’erba alle 7 del mattino.

The rooms were as pictured, large and comfortable and clean. The hotel was full of animals - monkeys, chickens, chicks, turtles, kittens, bats and turkeys! The staff were pleasant and most were friendly. The bathroom was spacious and the shower and water pressure was excellent.

The picture on booking.com is not an accurate representation of the hotel. Although it is pleasant enough. The hotel is a little tired and in need of some repairs e.g in one room the tap had a hole and a bad leak when you turned it on. The doors were stiff and patched in places and the bathrooms were generally leaky and the floor was wet most of the time (not a major problem). We arrived after a very very long flight and several hours in a taxi, we tried to order food and drinks and this was so slow (but not uncommon in sri Lanka) however, we were the only customers and it was still painfully slow. The hotel location is beautiful but it is quite far from Dambulla.

La struttura in sé è bella, le parti comuni sono più curate delle stanze che avrebbero bisogno di una maggiore manutenzione: alcuni interruttori non funzionano, ci sono le coperture trasparenti degli armadi strappate a metà, macchie indefinite sui divanetti e rattan dei mobili macchiato o ammuffito.

La colazione è stata assolutamente sotto le aspettative. Pochissima scelta, il tè e il caffè sono già pronti e tenuti caldi con delle stufette, il che li rende imbevibili. Anche la scelta dei dolci e del pane è imbarazzante.

Il silenzio

Quando ho prenotato la struttura risultava a350 metri dal centro di Dambulla, nella realtà la struttura risultava a 17 km dal centro del villaggio in una zona completamente lontana da tutto. Se non chiamavi un taxi non potevi muoverti da lì. Oltre questo, il direttore ha fatto finta di scusarsi dicendo che ci avrebbe fatto un upgrade della camera e ci avrebbe fatto uno sconto che abbiamo solo scoperto alla fine che era di 3000 Rupie ovvero 7 €...in pratica una presa in giro, la camera che ci hanno dato, tralaltro, aveva le pareti del bagno piene di muffa !!! Il buffet della colazione veramente ridicolo., la piscina sporca che abbiamo dovuto chiedere di pulire pilrima di potere fare il bagno...E questo sarebbe un 5 stelle? Assolutamente no, non andate

المنتجع عبارة عن أكواخ جميلة ومميزة، تشعرك وكأنك تعيش وسط طبيعة سريلانكا الساحرة وهدوئها التام. تجربة رائعة للاسترخاء والابتعاد عن الإزعاج. بخصوص الإفطار فهو مقبول ولا بأس به، لكنه يحتاج إلى بعض التطوير والتنويع..

The location is great, in the middle of the nature, a perfect place for a break. The lake in the middle of the property and the animals make you feel at home. The chalet had a big room, the bad was very confortable.

Maybe it could be possible to improve on the breakfast, specially regarding the offering of drinks.

Sehr schöne Hotelanlage in ruhiger Umgebung. Gute Lage für Ausflüge in der Region Dambulla (z.B. Sigiriya). Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstücksbuffet wurde extra für uns länger stehen gelassen, damit wir nach der morgendlichen Besichtigung von Sigiriya gemütlich frühstücken konnten.

The top of the hut was made out of glass, meaning one would wake up the second the sun would rise.

It was a peaceful and comfortable stay at Liyya Water Villas. The food was nice and decent, and overall it’s great value for money.

En natur runt omkring som var härlig, lugn och ro och fina hus som i sig behöver lite omvårdnad. Väldigt bra personal, glada, trevliga och omtänksamma.

Liyya water Villas är ett häftigt ställe med mycket potential. Men ganska slitet. Det skulle behöva lite omvårdnad. Mer kuddar på stolar , färg i hörnet samt wifi! Wifin var obefintlig och när man dessutom måste beställa tuktuk eller bil för att ta sig någonstans blev det svårt utan wifi. Det kan bli så bra!

The setting around the lake with individual cabins was delightful and why I booked here. Very quiet and peaceful, (unless the staff are walking back to their accommodation at the end of shifts). Great location for bird watchers. Take away breakfast was excellent. (We had an early departure one morning). The iron and board was a lovely find, but was only usable by rearranging the furniture.

Food was not good. Breakfast was cold and a very odd selection. Coffee undrinkable! Even the fresh fruit choice was limited and no bananas! Lighting in the bedroom had a will of it's own. Different switches would work at different times! There was no top sheet on the bed, just a quilt/duvet, far too hot. Sheet was supplied when asked for, so all good. I do NOT expect clean towels and bedding daily, but I do expect a hotel of this caliber to automatically check each room daily to make the bed, empty the bins and a quick sweep of the floor. (Ours was very dirty) which they didn't do. Only on request. When we asked for that on day 2 it didn't happen as they were too busy!?! Much further away from Dambulla Town and Sygiria than we expected. No where else to go to eat out in an evening. No Outside furniture on the terrace, my husband had to lug out the arm chairs from our room, too heavy for me to lift!

The property is beautiful but needs manteinance. There are a lot of loser animals in the property: dogs, duck, turkeys, chickens, cats, monkeys. The food was good and with great selection.

The furnishings and room amenities appear to be rather dated. They do not seem to be adequately equipped.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and perfectly clean, the beds were super comfortable and the service was outstanding. The staff always greeted us with a smile and were ready to help anytime. Worth every rupee! Great hospitality, comfortable rooms and delicious food. Highly recommended!

The staff was really friendly and helpful. Specially Rathnayake from F&B was very attentive and attended to our requests promptly. The property is well kept and has a really nice calm vibe.
