This family run business is a little gem hidden away in the woods of Dambulla. Truly great value for money and a wonderful service. They will help with everything and anything you want and want to do in the area.

Beautiful place with a lovely host family. The rooms are big, nice bathroom with hot shower. The family drove us to the cave temple at no charge and we were able to hire their motorbike, ar a charge, to drive to Sirigya. Also sorted our laundry, at a charge. The pool is lovely and very clean 😍 Supermarket by the main road and lots of pharmacies if needed nearby.

The family that runs Thammenna is heartwarming. They were super kind and helpful. When my child was sick (already when we got there) they really cared and tried to help. We got the best local food (breakfast and dinner) we could have asked for. We stayed a night longer than we planned and it’s been a very lovely stay.

The family who own and run the property are extremely nice and attentive. The day trip organised by the owner’s son is very good.

The room is very ran down and the sheets and towels are all stained. After I told the owner about the stained sheets, they came in to change them but the clean ones are also stained. The towel rack in the bathroom is very rusty.

Cozy little paradise in nature.

A family-run lodging tucked behind the busy road offers tranquility & privacy. Room was spacious & comfortable, especially love the mattress. There’s a supermarket & a laundry just by the main road less than 5 minutes walk away.

The people were really friendly and helpful, Kaveesha and his mum went out of their way to make our stay so pleasant and to help us with transport all around. The pool was clean and pleasant. A good location to explore the Cultural Triangle and just around the corner from a supermarket and restaurants.

The room felt in need of a bit of updating and the pool area needs some sunbeds.

Breakfast was great. Dambula is a v busy place, location of property was well back away from the noise in beautiful setting surrounded by jungle, very peaceful and quiet yet within easy access to supermarket less than 10 mins walk. Perfect base for the trips to surrounding attractions. Lovely pool to come back to after hot day out.

Only thing was when we took the key out our room power went of which is standard but also power to fridge. I don’t think owners were aware of this till I mentioned it.

Op 2 minuten lopen van het centrum en toch de stilte en rust, prachtige tuin. Deze familie is zo warm en hartelijk. De service was meer dan perfect!!! Ben een single reiziger en voelde me een beetje opgenomen in de familie. Een dikke 10 I’ll be back. Dank voor de gastvrijheid ❤️

Jedyny mankament to należało by odmalować ściany w pokoju oraz pomyśleć nad wentylacją. Jedyny wymiennik powietrza to klimatyzator.

La famille propriétaire de cet établissement nous ont fait sentir très à l'aise. Ils se sont montrés très serviables et arrangeants pour faciliter notre séjour chez eux. Ils proposent également un transport en voiture si vous en avez besoin. Le petit déjeuner est très bon. Petit plus, l'établissement est à l'écart de grands axes routiers donc très calme, cependant la rue n'est pas loin si l'on souhaite se rendre dans un restaurant à proximité. Si vous souhaitez rencontrer une famille adorables, venez ici!

Tout était très bien, je recommande si possible de mettre 2 draps sur le lit à la place d'un seul si possible car la région est très humide en janvier.

Amazing host, secluded but close to everything

Les propriétaires pour leur gentillesse, leur compréhension et leur disponibilité. Une pensée également pour le fils, le grand, qui a été très gentil. il m’accompagne récupérer mon scooter aussi accompagné pour le ramener qui est très rare. merci beaucoup pour votre gentillesse 🙏🙏🙏

L’établissement est un peu vieillotte et un petit rafraîchissement de la chambre serait un plus. La propreté était globalement correcte, avec toutefois quelques points perfectibles.

Хороший просторный номер, рядом с бассейном, напор в душе нормальный. Хозяева приятные, внимательные люди, Сын хозяина встретил с и отвёз на автобус. Находится рядом с центром, крупный супермаркет за углом в двух минутах ходьбы. До автобусной остановки в Сигирию 10 минут ходьбы, ехать на автобусе 40 минут. До пещеры в Дамбуле рукой подать. Рекомендую!

Окна выходят напротив соседних номеров, а если шторы держать закрытыми, то темновато. Но это мелочи.

Kaveesha and his family are such welcoming and kind hosts! Anything you could possibly need help with in Sri Lanka they will - they couldn’t have done anymore for us. Kaveeshas dad is an excellent driver, his mum is so kind and welcoming, and Kaveesha is very knowledgable. The stay was peaceful and out of the way of the busier roads, making it a perfect stay for Dambulla and getting to the local sights nearby. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at Thammenna Eco Cabins. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the surroundings were calm and relaxing. The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and enjoyable.

Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker!!! Alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Das Zimmer war nicht mehr ganz in top zustand, die Tür kaputt. Da es geregnet hat, als wir da waren war alles etwas klamm und ist nie richtig trocken geworden.

Schön gelegen, ruhig und trotzdem ist mann schnell zu Fuß in der Stadt. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit und der Pool ist zwischendurch zum abkühlen auch sehr angenehm.

Das WLAN war nicht so doll

Die Gastgeber waren außergewöhnlich hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sie haben die Organisation von Ausflügen und Touren übernommen und sind dabei auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen sowie uns im Preis entgegen gekommen. Nach dem Auschecken haben sie uns sogar zu einer weit entfernten Bushaltestelle gefahren. Toller Garten mit gepflegtem Pool. Eigene Terrasse vor dem Zimmer. Fantastisches Essen. Sehr schöner überdachter Sitzbereich draußen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Anschaffungsidee: Ein Bodenabzieher wäre toll für das Bad, um den Boden nach dem Duschen zu trocknen.

Unglaublich hilfsbereite und freundliche Gastgeber. Die Lage war ruhig und trotzdem Nahe des Zentrums.

It was nice and quiet and within 10-15 min from all restaurants and shops. Staff were amazing. The father even took us to Sigiriya and they always went above and beyond.

They would do well to get comfortable in the outdoor areas. For example the pool and the verandahs of the deluxe cabins.

Ruime kamer, wel geen klamboe aanwezig, dus bescherm je voor de dieren. Lekker ontbijt, vriendelijke service

Wir waren 3 Nächte dort, die Lage des Hotels war sehr schön, nahe an den Einkaufsmöglichkeiten/Restaurants aber trozdem an einer ruhigen Lage mitten im Dschungel. In diesem Familienbetrieb fühlten wir uns sehr wohl. Das Personal hat alle unsere wünsche erfüllt und war stehts sehr freundlich. Sie haben uns gartis herumgefahren und uns sogar zu einem sehr fairen Preis zum nächsten Hotel gefahren. Als wir dann 2 Tage später weiter wollten Richtung Süden haben sie uns auch noch einen günstigen/guten/netten Taxifahrer organisiert. Das essen war sehr gut und ausreichend für 2 Personen. Wir können dieses kleine und schöne Hotel nur entfehlen.

Big pool, clean with was surprising since everything else wasn't. Big breakfast, but first day's melon were cut with a dirty knife and wasn't eatable. Very slow service. Waited 1 hour and I was the only guest. Since I can't reply on their comment, please do yourself the favour and read the other reviews including the lowest one. This could be a nice place if the family bothered to take care of it and do hospitality, not just smile.

Got a nice room (#2), though moulded walls (and smell) in the bathroom where the window couldn’t be closed. The other rooms also smelled mould. Just before midnight the power went off. I thought it was an areal power shortage as the rest was dark around, except for one lamp, so I tried to pack for next morning in the dark and sleep without fan or AC. Unfortunately mosquitos loves me and I didn’t get much sleep as I had to get up at 4:30 to visit the Pidurangala rock for the sunrise (beautiful). The son, my driver, informed the others about the power situation. We were back at 7.30. Power still not working. I was hungry and had ordered breakfast, but still had to wait until about 8.30-45 before it was ready. Delicious except for the watermelon. For $7 which is a lot here, it should be good. Finished breakfast, still no room ready for me. I got a smaller room without the promised view (ca 9:15) , instead it faced a wall. I pointed out that this was a down grade and they agreed. Meanwhile they offered to wash my clothes (washing machine), ended with a ruined Billabong-shorts (bleach?). First at 10 o'clock the next (family) room was finally ready. I had planned my day to sleep straight after breakfast. Now my day got messed up and half way wasted. The new room (family) had dirty sheets with cockroaches nesting in my bed (5), mosquitos and a Centiped. All problems they blamed on others (no staff, bad laundry company…), still they were 3 adults who could easily keep the rooms clean, even having a washing machine. They were "guilt tripping" me to give them a nice review. Even after complaining they begged me to rate them a 10 (!). Offering me a ride to Kandy as they were going that way, "just pay for fuel". Turned out they wanted double the fuel price. For 70 km, they wanted me to pay for 12-13 litre diesel! I paid the fuel price++, about 6.5 litres… They offered me a refund if they could "cancel my stay"; not getting a review.

Ausgesprochen nette, liebenswerte & hilfsbereite Familie als Gastgeber. Die Cabins liegen in einem ruhigen Seitenweg (schöne Nachtgeräusxhe der Natur) aber keine 5 Minuten in die Stadt (Supermarkt ca. 3 Minuten entfernt). Wir waren auf der Durchreise 3 Tage dort und haben es völlig genossen und genutzt va.durch die Empfehlungen für Touren und haben auch mit ihnen eine Tour gemacht. Bei unserer Buchung wurde sogar ungefragt angeboten uns vom Zug aus Habarana abzuholen, was wir gern angenommen haben. Wir bekamen Hilfestellung bei der Besorgung einer lokalen SIM- card und wurde letztendlich am Abreisetag auch zur richtigen Busstation gebracht. Auch unsere Weiterreise wurde durch sie unterstützend organisiert. Nicht zu vergessen das wirklich total leckere local Frühstück, was durch die Mama zubereitet und auf der Dachterrasse serviert wurde. Eine klare Empfehlung und jeder Zeit wieder!!! Preis- Leistungsverhältnis TOP TOP TOP!!!!

Chambre très spacieuse, à proximité de la ville mais avec le calme de la jungle. Kaveesha et sa famille sont très accueillants et nous ont aidé pour planifier la suite de notre voyage. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Very accommodating hosts, offering transport to and from the cave temple, and onward travel the day of departure. Ideal if you have a vehicle. Big supermarket in walking distance. Decent breakfast. Room clean and comfortable with a huge bathroom.

A table outside room would be handy. A little further on foot from bus stand than anticipated. And down a rough track with nothing else around so didn't feel compelled to venture out at night.

Staff was very kind and available 24/7.beautiful location and rooms are very clean and pool was perfect for refreshing.highly recommended

La ubicación: aunque parece que estaba un poco escondido es fácil acceder a todos los sitios de la ciudad. Además, el hotel ofrece servicios para desplazarse a los lugares / ciudades cercanas

La habitación no estaba especialmente limpia al llegar y en las 3 noches que estuvimos no cambiaron la ropa de cama ni las toallas (que sí nos dieron nuevas al pedirlas)

Wat hebben wij een geweldig verblijf gehad, bij dit fantastische gezin. Het eten is er héérlijk en de gastvrijheid staat er voorop. Wat een lieve mensen 🤩 Niets was teveel gevraagd en we werden op allerlei manieren geholpen met raad en het organiseren van onze tours. Er werd alles aan gedaan om ons te ontzorgen. De oudste zoon bracht ons in alle vroegte 4.30 uur naar de Pidurangala Rock om van de zonsopkomst te kunnen genieten, om vervolgens ons de omgeving te laten zien. De vader heeft ons van Dambulla naar Kandy gebracht. Dit alles natuurlijk wel tegen een vergoeding, maar niet meer dan wat we normaal kwijt waren geweest. Voor ons voelde dit verblijf als thuiskomen ❤️❤️

Le logement est authentique, charmant et très bien placé. La piscine est super, les repas copieux et sont très bons. Le personnel est réactif et très sympathique (famille gérant le complexe), note toute particulière à Kavisha, que se soit pour les conseils, les déplacements, le service : merci à lui !

Las instalaciones están muy bien y el trato ha sido inmejorable. Atentos a todo lo que podíamos necesitar, nos han ayudado a poder conseguir los guías y drivers a las diferentes actividades que queríamos. Y el último día nos pusieron comida típica del país para probarla! :)

The place, swimming pool and the hospitality

Una habitació gran amb jardí compartit amb piscina. Els propietaris són maquíssims i t’ajuden amb tot i més. Necessitàvem fer una rentadora, però eren dies festius, al final ens la van fer ells.

La piscina y la habitación son preciosas. La piscina fue prácticamente para nosotros y las habitaciones tienen la entrada que da a la piscina y jardín por lo que a las familias con niños les puede encajar. Para las parejas tiene un ambiente romántico y con cortinas largas para tener intimidad. Las habitaciones tienen nevera para enfriar el agua. La cocinera es muy maja y hace buenos desayunos. Siempre te pregunta amablemente qué te apetece o si quieres mas.

Recomendamos que engrasen las puertas porque hacen ruido

Personal molt amable. Les cabines molt netes i la piscina tot un goig amb la calor. Tan de bo haguessim pogut quedar-nos una nit més.

We spent the best two days here! Kaveesha and family made our stay very memorable! They were so kind and interesting. They helped us organise all that we wanted to do in the area and offered us lifts when we needed. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The pool is amazing! The food is all home cooked and some of the best that we ate in Sri Lanka. It is quick and easy to access all of the local sites, like Sigiriya Rock. If we are ever in the area again we will be returning :)

Obsługa jest bardzo pomocna i uprzejma, z basenu można korzystać w każdej możliwej chwili, ale nie jest głośno, jest bardzo przyjemne podwórko, a goście nie przeszkadzają sobie nawzajem. Śniadanie super :)

Mieliśmy trochę brudne prześcieradło, ale po prośbie o zmianę zostało od razu zmienione. Trochę śmierdziało z kanalizacji, ale to tu normalne

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und für hatten die Zeit dort alles, was wir brauchten. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist Ideal (schön zentral, aber trotzdem ruhig) und der Pool war perfekt um sich zwischendurch abzukühlen. Die Besitzer des Hotels haben uns beim Verlassen des Hotels noch Kostenlos zur Busstation gefahren. Vielen Dank!

Die Wände der Hotelzimmer könnten demnächst mal einen neuen Anstrich vertragen. Es sind einige Flecken an den Wänden.

Ubytovatelé byli velice vstřícní a ochotní. Snažili se pomoci a vyhovět. Rodinné a přátelské prostředí. Dalo by se zlepšit posezení před bazénem.

El alojamiento está muy cerca del centro y prácticamente al lado de un supermercado, es muy tranquilo y los propietarios son encantadores (y cocinan muy bien). Las habitaciones son grandes y bañarte al anochecer en la piscina es muy relajante. Además, nos organizaron el safari en Minneriya y todo fue genial.

El camino de entrada está sin asfaltar y por la noche no hay iluminación, pero con la linterna del móvil se puede ir sin problema.

Propriétaires très sympathiques et qui nous ont aidé quand nous en avions besoin. Petit déjeuné copieux et très bon. Chambres spacieuses ce qui est très agréable. Le fils aîné est très aidant et parle très bien anglais.

Mériterait quelques petites rénovations car c'est defraichit par endroit. Ce serait agréable d avoir des transats au bord de la piscine. Avoir un peu de ménage quand on reste plus de 2 nuits serait un plus

I just visited thammenna eco cabins in dambulla the this month and I was Mesmerized to see their luxurious accommodation there staff behavior is also excellent and I would love to visit again

Principalmente el personal: Chandana maravilloso, siempre atento, amable e interesado por aprender sobre nuestra cultura, en general son una familia estupenda, muy serviciales. El hijo mayor nos llevó incluso al templo de la cueva del budda desinteresadamente y encima al día siguiente teníamos que buscar un transporte para una excursión y nos consiguió un conductor privado mucho más barato que incluso pickme. En cuanto a las instalaciones fue todo un sueño estar bañándonos en la piscina rodeados de monos, un varano y una naturaleza y paz increíble. Además, comimos y cenamos en su alojamiento comida típica, abundante y muy buena. Si tuviésemos que volver sería nuestra primera opción.

Het ontvangst met koffie of thee, de vriendelijkheid van deze lieve mensen, de familie deed enorm haar best om het ons naar de zin te maken. Ontbijt met eieren, worstjes en fruit. Ze informeerden ons over bezienswaardigheden en activiteiten. Ze stonden open voor een gesprek. Belangstellend naar onze cultuur. Er is een menukaart en het eten is er geweldig!😋 Aanpassingen in het menu zijn heel goed mogelijk. De huisjes zijn omringd door een prachtige tuin en er is een heel lekker zwembad. En een boomschommel. Je bent binnen 5 min. in het centrum. We hebben het heel fijn gehad, voelde als thuis. Aanrader!!!!

Wir waren hier 2 Tage die einzigen Gäste und haben Sigiriya, Pidurangala Rock und Cave Tempel besichtigt! Danach war es immer sehr angenehm in den kleinen aber sauberen Pool zu gehen und dabei Affen zu beobachten. Die Zimmer waren groß (für 3Personen) und sauber, aber einfach gehalten! Die Unterkunft gehört einer Familie, welche sich auch darum kümmert. Es war aber tagsüber nicht immer jemand da und man musste ihnen sagen, was sie machen sollen, wie Toilettenpapier bringen und Müll entleeren. Waren aber sehr nett. Das Frühstück war sehr gut! Abendessen konnte man bestellen, wurde aber von auswärts geliefert! In der Nähe war ein Supermarkt, wo man auch Bier kaufen konnte!

Zentrale Lage.

Ziemlich abgewohnt. Poolwasser war leicht trüb. Unterkunft entsprach nicht der Beschreibung.

Excellent hospitality provided by host and felt good and excellent staff and one of the best place to stay in Dambulla. Swimming pool was refreshing, and rooms were superb. Restaurants food was amazing, and breakfast was massive. I would definitely recommend this hotel for other travelers who are looking to stay in Dambulla.

the room and patio are good as is the pool, and i gave them an extra point because the son is such a good worker and a real try hard. he is working under difficult conditions where as they advertise and agree for payment with credit card but then immediately and consistently pressure you to pay with cash. also he was very accommodating with our requests particularly when we asked for a small patio table to put our drinks on while we watched the rampant monkey troop launch sortie after sortie onto property, they did not have a small patio table to give us but were able to provide a spare office desk which is nearly the same. also as only the son can speak english he gets handed all the foreigners requests/complaints.

the driveway into this hotel is an unlit goat path no attempt at maintaining a road into the hotel has ever been done, you can walk around the track the 300m to cargills in the day time ok, but i would not be willing to try at night for fear of a sprained ankle or missing the two turnoffs and getting lost. because there is no restaurant onsite all meals are brought in which makes dining in this hotel very restrictive. the food is just average and a little overpriced.

Lage: eine kleine Oase im hektischen Dambulla, etwas abseits, das war aber gut, der Pool war gut nach den langen Ausflügen. Ausstattung: man hat sich um alle Wünsche nach Nachfrage bestmöglich gekümmert. Der Sohn der Eigentümer spricht sehr gut. Englisch, war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Halbpension war sehr üppig und lecker mit landestypischen Gerichten. Die Gastgeber waren sehr hilfsbereit gute und faire Angebote für Ausflüge zu finden.

Restaurace nefungovala! Objednali jsme si jidlo a později jsme zjistili, že bylo dovezeno z jiné restaurace. Ùklid nefungoval, chyběl fén i toaletní potřeby, posezení a lehátka byly nepoužitelné. Vyžádali jsme si skleničky, a ty nám hned druhý den sebrali 🙏🏼
