Love the staff and the breakfast choices are superb

The shower was a problem.

Overall, the hotel was fine for an overnight stay. It's a bit tired & could do with a makeover. The electric blanket on the bed didn't work, which was disappointing as it was very cold. The staff & the food were both great & we really appreciated being able to park closer than what was normally allowed, due to my physical limitations.

Great Breakfast and warm and comfy room

The fireplace at night that kept the cottage warm and cozy. Electric blankets were an added bonus as it was very cold the evening we stayed over..

The Shower water did not drain properly.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

I know the cottages are self catering, but it would be nice if the hotel provided a small bar of soap for the bathroom.

The staff was exceptionally friendly, eager to assist and you do not often find that in hotels. From the reception to the waiter to the chef, exceptional service and the food exeptional

The breakfast was delicious and more than enough to eat!

It would be nice to have more kitchen cutlery, especially a bread knife and a sharp cutting knife.

The cottage was not up to standard at all, the fireplace was old and rusty. We tried lighting up fire in it in order for us to be warm, there was smoke all over the cottage as a result we had to open windows and the sliding for the smoke.

I've traveled and have never seen more friendlier staff than here. They go out of their way to give you what you want. Siya at the reception I have no words for her she's more than the best.

The breakfasts were great. The staff exceptional and friendly. Amazing chef Mike aimed to please. Really a value for money stay. I would definitely recommend Kings Lodge. Sia the receptionist was just the best.

The music in the dining room we asked a few times to turn it down as you could not hear yourself speak.

The location is perfect and our cottage was very cosy. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Siya who has a passion for her job. The meals were delicious

We only had breakfast at the hotel on our last morning. We waited very long for our coffee & we were told they had a unforeseen staffing issue. They could perhaps have a 2 prong plug as we forgot to take one

The grounds and swimming pool were in a sad state. Considering it was Easter weekend, this should have been attended too.

There was a problem with knifes spoons dishcloths and towels in the place. Which was only sorted out on the last night

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were well prepared and very tasty. The portions were big.

Their Linen... Ow it was very nice, comfortable, very clean the quality was out of this world and smelling very nice ❤️❤️

Staff are very nice- when you can find them. Even the restaurant you have to look for staff. The rooms are a bit old and smell musty. Water is incredibly slow so you can't actually take a nice bath. We don't have a shower in our room. Bar and restaurant closes at 8pm which is very early

It a nice place to visit, it geographical location is perfect. We really enjoyed or stay.

Staff were great (very friendly). At breakfast the chef went out of his way to accommodate my special meal request and specifically came to check if I was happy and had a conversation with us. The location along the main road is great.

Cold shower in the evening (there was warm water in the morning). Satellite TV didn't work for most of the evening.

Had to sweep the cottage as floor was dirty. The braai was unusable - grid was bent and rusty and dirty covered with large bird droppings. Sheets had tears in them because of age.

Exceptional service and friendly staff!!! The food was excellent and the natural setting was stuuningly beautiful and calm. Iff you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the place to be !

There is a restaurant and bar and it's in good location.

There was tv but what we hated is that, it's was not working. There was a problem with dish but they do explain to and promised it be fixed on the following day. But unfortunately they don't it seems they don't care about that. We stay there with entrainment.

The bed should have been replaced years ago, very uncomfortable. The entrance of the hotel building is old, dirty and broken tiles. Restaurant was very under staffed with only one waiter and lots of people. No ambiance, felt like hostel dining room. Very little utensils in kitchen and old. Had to ask for wine glasses.

Ich habe diese sofort verlassen und ein anderes Hotel gesucht. Es war eine schmutzige dunkle Zumutung und entspricht nicht der Darstellung in den Fotos

Diese Unterkunft entsprach ueberhaupt nicht, dem was angeboten wurde. Sie war schmutzig kaputt verqualmt, kein warmes Wasser, einzige Heizung Holzfeuer, Putzmittel ein dreckiger Wischmopp und Eimer im Wohnraum stehend. Bauschutt ueberall rutschige Zuwegung ohne Gelaender. Verwahrlostes Aussengelaende. Ich konnte dort nicht wohnen und moechte nun mein Geld zurueck. Die Kuechenausstattung war eine durchgerostet Herdplatte und ein nicht gesaeubertes Geraet - es war wohl mal eine Microwelle. Kein wifi und Ausblicke auf Bauschutt. Bad 5-, alle Leuchten immer eine Lampe rausgedreht, es war dunkel. Nicht zum Bleiben. Kaltes Wasser und alles roch nach kaltem Rauch und war staubig.

Staff is pleasant. I didn't get to taste the breakfast, they took long to get orders and we had to leave.

The fact that the breakfast was limited and not many options to choose from . The lodge could do with some renovations. Oww the water from the bath was kind of dirty

The accommodation was nice, but the problem was that we arrived after dark and the main road in Hogsback is very poorly lit, so it took us about half an hour to find the hotel. But everything turned out fine, and we were quickly accommodated. The breakfast was good. Despite certain problems, we would definitely return to Hogsback, ideally during daylight hours, so that we could get to know the beautiful mountainous surroundings of this town better.

Lovely location in Hogsback. More than enough space in the cottage.

The cottage needs an upgrade, also the bathroom, perhaps a full shower too.

Unfortunately we could only stay for a night but immediately we fell in love with the old world charm of king's lodge. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Thank you for making this part of our honeymoon so unforgettable. xxx Sugar & Bert

To have heaters or electric blankets in the bedrooms.i used the blanket but the room was cold.

No atmosphere. The property looked run down compared to how I remember it in years gone by.

The breakfast options were wide on choice, well prepared, good taste and quickly served. The day and evening menus had a good variety, well prepared, ample size. All staff were exceptionally helpful, kind and considerate. Although an old hotel it is well maintained, cosy and a pleasure relaxing there.
