The Atholl Palace

It was very grand and in a beautiful setting and grounds. View from resultant was amazing!!

The room allocated although for disabilities it was quite far from reception and front door. Toilets very far from main entrance to building. En-suite was quite tired and needing refreshed, particularly Shower basin and shower. Sink was too small especially when trying to fill kettle and coffee machine. Coffee machine stopped working after one coffee.

Room lovely but tea and coffee making facilities very poor with kettle on the floor by the bathroom door and also had to unplug the fridge to use the coffee machine - definitely not what you would expect for the price. Also had a disturbed night due to very noisy bar entertainment continuing well after 11pm. Also this bar entertainment was of poor quality. The staff were generally polite but terse and generally quite cold, they could have been more friendly

Great amenities like the pool and spa. Breakfast was amazing and stags head bar is one of the best places for a drink in the town. Staff are always friendly and very helpful.

Beautiful historic hotel in a stunning location. We had 2 very relaxing spa treatments and dinner at the bar, which was excellent.

Bedroom had coffee machine ,fridge,fresh milk,bottled water and biscuits which we really appreciated . Enjoyed the museum . The gardens and the grounds were perfect- quiet and peaceful

The food was very good. The breakfast was buffet style with a wide selection of traditional food and fruit. There was entertainment provided and this made for a fun evening.

We treated ourselves and dined in the dining room twice in our three night stay because the food was absolutely outstanding. The breakfast was also absolutely wonderful. The waiting staff were really professional and friendly. Such an incredible location. We plan to come again next year.

The outside of the Palace is beautiful, inside ok. Grounds are great for taking walks or hikes. Very near the town. Elevator very small, and only one. The high tea was good.

We booked three rooms, and for some reason women was loved so they sent us to another room, which was really small, didn’t have where to plug. The phones in the bed was OK but not really comfortable.

Es todo un clásico en la zona. Tiene un museo muy chulo dentro. Es un edificio histórico y la decoración respeta lo que fue. Las cortinas, los muebles impecables y nuevos pero respetando el estilo y el edificio. Los jardines muy bonitos, tienes foto por cada rincón. El personal súper amable. Puedes jugar al tenis, golf. Tienes la piscina y spa. Está muy bien todo. Música por la noche en vivo muy tranquila. En fin muy bien. El desayuno bufé muy variado, rico y completo.

Por ponerle un pero la habitación era para cuatro estaba separada con un arco, una doble y otra con dos camas, pero le haría falta una puerta para darle más privacidad. Pero ya digo que por ponerle un pero, porque era perfecta.

Great for family - lots to do on site that doesn’t cost extra - eg pitch and putt, tennis, snooker, swimming etc. Lovely location.

A LOT The staff was rude and didn’t provide us with information. No one ever heard of a smile and hospitality? The breakfast was underwhelming, a lot of prepackaged cornflakes, no refills of pastries and fruit although we have asked multiple times. Seen them refill the juices with large jars and the staff had never heard of hospitality. Cappuccino machine was broken. The “sauna” didn’t get warm and then whole place smelled like sweaty feet. No robes or anything to make it a spa experience. The shampoo and soap containers in our bathroom were years old and dirty and so were the baskets in the hallway with towels. Our view was a container full of dirt

This great hotel is located in a spectacular location, and it has many amenities that are the legacy of its Victorian heritage. We loved the pool and spa, and the ambiance in the bar was great. The view from the dining room is amazing.

Excelente alojamiento, muy bonito y con todo lo necesario Muy buena situacion con vistas y entorno precioso y a pocos minutos en coche del centro. Excelente bufet desayuno!! Tiene habitacioness con acceso para mobilidad reducida! Personal nos ayudo con el cambio necesario para la hab de mob reducida de manera muy eficiente y rapida.

Breakfast was great! It had a nice variety of items to me choose from.

The young lady in the bar provided less than stellar customer service. We spoke to the manager (Telmo) who said he would address the opportunity. Telmo was amazing by the way!

Très décevant. Accueil et personnel du restaurant désagréables. Ascenseur qui fonctionne mal, chambre trop chaude et imprégnée d’odeurs de cuisine, sans climatisation. Matelas trop mou. Petit-déjeuner très bas de gamme et aucune information sur la possibilité de commander des œufs ou des toasts. Repas du soir très décevant, avec des portions ridicules et des prix excessifs. Rapport qualité-prix vraiment mauvais.

Sadly the hotel is tired and in need of a refurb although our bathroom clearly had been upgraded . The staff in the dining room and bar were below par. The floor in dining room was dirty and the breakfast was incredibly poor. We had a mediocre spa treatment and again the spa was not great and needs attention.

We had a very pleasant stay at The Atholl Palace. Conor at reception was particularly hospitable and helpful as we arrived at the train station late in the evening he kindly arranged a shuttle bus to pick us up which was greatly appreciated. The views from the hotel are breathtaking the beds are very comfortable and the staff on the floor were kind and welcoming. Overall we had a lovely and relaxing experience and truly appreciated the warm hospitality.

The restaurant offers a spectacular view overlooking the beautiful green valleys of Pitlochry, creating a truly relaxing and holistic experience. However, I would suggest that the restaurant supervisor, Merla, receive additional training in guest service, particularly in welcoming and assisting guests arriving at Atholl Palace. The atmosphere among the team felt quite tense, and I believe a warmer, more relaxed approach would greatly enhance the overall guest experience. People come to Atholl Palace to unwind and enjoy their annual break, so the atmosphere should reflect that sense of relaxation, hospitality, and welcome.

Belle demeure dans un parc magnifique à quelques minutes du centre de Pitlochry, charmant village écossais. Belle chambre avec une literie très confortable. La restauration du bar est assez bonne.

Le petit déjeuner n’est pas à la hauteur de l’établissement (et de son prix): œufs brouillés industriels, fromage sous vide, peu de pain de qualité, musique inutile …

Ein herrliches altes Grandhotel in liebevollem Instandhaltungszustand. Tolly Lobby / Gemeinschaftsräume. Schön angelegter Park. Schönes Restaurant mit Aussicht in den Park. Schöne Bar Bar mit bewirtschafteter Terasse.

Ein älterer 2 Personen Aufzug ist der Größe des Anwesen nicht ganz angemessen. Pitlochry ist schön, aber schon sehr touristisch.

We loved how beautiful everything was. Our family enjoyed using the pool and loved the live music in the evening while we played chess and checkers in the lounge. Breakfast was delicious and included gluten free options. The laundry on site was also a nice bonus as our stay was towards the end of our vacation.

This is a spectacular hotel in a grand Victorian castle in a beautiful setting. There's a pool and spa facilities and beautiful gardens and it's comfortable and a short walk (up a hill) from Pitlochry and the Festival Theatre.

The decor feels a little bit "old school" but in a way that is part of the charm in a hotel like this.

The staff, especially in the restaurant at breakfast, were very unfriendly. The breakfast was below average quality.

A few of the staff were not well trained to interact nicely with guests or couldn't be bothered. Needs some renovations in places (e.g. male changing rooms for the swimming pool).

The grounds were superb with lots to wander and enjoy. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. The food was amazing - even my 6 year old enjoyed the non-kids menu and still says it was our best hotel stay for our road trip. The facilities were simple but clean, well-maintained and accessible to all. Such a lovely stay, we will be back.

The staff in the restaurant could be a bit more cheerful.

Eindrückliches Gebäude in einem schönen Park. Schöne Aussicht vom Frühstücksraum. Praktische Familienzimmer für 4. Gemütliche und grosse Lobby.

Im allgemeinen scheint es, dass das Hotel seine beste Zeit hinter sich hat, teilweise wirkt es eher "verbraucht". Grösse und Komfort der Betten sind nicht 4 Sterne.

Tutto l’aspetto esterno era ben curato, bellissimi il parco e il castello. Camera carina e molto grande. La camera era pulita come pure il bagno.

All’interno sa di vecchio che non ha lo stesso fascino di antico. Ristorazione; colazione poca, mal servita, sapeva di sporco, noi siamo arrivati alle 08.30 ed era tutta pasticciata. Cena obbligo di due portate ma sicuramente mediocre la qualità nel piatto. La sala da pranzo da rivedere l'ordine, ci hanno assegnato il tavolo da parte ad una porta aperta che fungeva da sgabuzzino, con un disordine orribile. La camera che ci è stata assegnata era nel basement, il corridoio per arrivarci era angusto e anche li non ordinato, abbiamo dovuto passare molti spazi e corridoi per raggiungere la camera. La piscina, vista alla sera, l'ho trovata vecchia, poco curata e restaurata e anche un po' sporca. Acqua fredda e non piacevole. La parte SPA non è accessibile ai minori, ho fatto un giro e sapeva di stantio, misto a umido e vecchio. Finestre sporche. Avevo delle aspettative diverse, che in parte sono state appagate dall'esterno e dal parco, ma la struttura internamente non vale.

It's a castle, and the amenities are amazing. Not only do they have a pool, they have a tennis court, and a golf putting range, there's also so many acres to explore. I stayed there with some friends but we booked separately and when we went out exploring we found so many gardens, and massive trees with information about them and we even managed to find a waterfall.

The hotel was lovely and is picturesque, the spa facilities looked great although we had no time to use them unfortunately. Staff were pleasant. All in all, I would return.

The walk from the outside road up to hotel is really steep, not recommended for older folk to climb that hill and dodgy slippy stairs. There was a shuttle bus but it was broken during our stay (typical) The floorboards in the rooms are super creeky and really annoying . The que we had at breakfast was long, 10minutes to get a seat then it was a battle to get any food, hotel was very busy mind you.

The room was clean, with a complement water and a small bottle of milk for the tea/coffee. The bathroom was big with a large walk in shower, lovely thick towels which was changed everyday. Breakfast had a good selection of cooked and cold food with plenty of juices. Evening meal we ate in the bar, the food was amazing I had the salmon just prefect! the following night I had the ribs.... a full rack!!.

I can't say there was anything we didn't like.

Ett fantastiskt ställe!! Definitivt åt det dyrare hållet, men det märktes varför. Härlig atmosfär, väldigt trevlig personal och vackra omgivningar.

It's a beautiful historical building with a fascinating history which can be discovered in the hotel's own museum. Amazing grounds with views and space for walks, spotlessly clean spacious room (ours actually wasn't located in the main building) with all the comforts needed for a short or longer relaxing stay (bathtub, toiletries, fridge, coffee maker - brownie points for including really good decaf coffee pods and fresh milk), excellent breakfast.

No verbal information on the breakfast or check-out times was given during the check-in, nor was it available physically in the room on a sheet of paper. This was only available upon asking at the reception desk or via email. Not a problem, of course, but it would have been nice to have that available at hand in the room. Also, it would be great to see the museum restored to its glory because there are so many interesting objects there which are screaming for at least some cleaning if not treatment or conservation.

Je n'ai pas diner sur place car le prix du repas m'a semblé excessif mais sans doute adapté au standing de l'établissement et il faut manger avant 20h en ville car après les cuisines ferment : ca fait tôt

The location was great with easy access to the local wee town. The grounds of the palace were beautiful which suited the regal building. The Stag bar food was exceptionally good.

Rooms, slight attention to detail missing from the cleaning staff. I’m sure it was an oversight but has to be mentioned in honesty. The rest of the premises were as you would expect of a palace.

From arrival to departure our experience at the Atholl Palace was wonderful. The beautiful grounds, lobby areas, Stags Head Bar, dining room and perfectly appointed rooms made for an amazing relaxing stay!

The potato scone was very dry and hard, sausages a bit over done and only one toaster working that is a very old fashioned design now It was busy with a bus tour in the hotel as well, lift was dirty and the carpets on level 2 as we exited the lift were all big dirty stains also. The staff are not very happy looking and their uniforms were dirty in the evening dining room and breakfast morning, not a good impression for guests Our evening meal on the Saturday was poor, we were given black pudding Bon Bon’s instead of haggis bon Bon’s as stated on the menu. There was a piece of plastic in one of the bon bon. Told the waitress who went to the kitchen came back and said the chef was sorry !!! 10 mins later she came out again with a small dish, it had 2 haggis Bon Bon’s in it, our meal was finished. Never saw the chef so not sure what the waitress was expecting us to do or say, very poor service. This hotel was very overpriced at over £500.00 pounds for 2 nights and was a surprise for our anniversary The grounds were lovely and along the river, but no herb garden to look around Pitlochry itself is a very pretty and picturesque little village / town and would visit it again Mrs Elizabeth & Mr Roy Cox O.B.E.
