Most of the staff were lovely but the exception was one of the staff at the counter on our arrival. Indifferent to us. One man who checked us in stood drinking a glass of water while he tapped us in on the computer! The lady who served breakfast was very friendly and welcoming. Very helpful

Das Zimmer 10 und 5 waren hervorragend. Super gross und sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr fein.

Das Frühstück sollte bereits ab 7.30 möglich sein, wegen den Flügen am Flughafen.

The location is amazing, and the pub is really nice.

Tons of mold in the bathroom (pictures below),which stinks up the whole room. Extractor fan barely functions so it doesn’t alleviate the smell. Sink plugged. The staff told us they were too busy to do anything about either issue.

The meals were excellent and lots of choices. Its setting on the Marina is lovely and the Inn has an "Old World Charm" about it. At night it did get noisy outside with cars/motorbike traffic being right on the roadway!

The Staff were pleasant but when requested there was no Tourist Information Brochures available or offered by Staff or in the Room. We would have expected a range of info ready to provide to Visitors noting places to look out for, best modes of transport and parking into Edinburgh. The room was warm when the heating kicked in at night and the bed was comfortable but at a reduced rate through my Genius level 3 with Booking.com, my wife and I still paid £320 for 2 Nights Accommodation. Quite expensive for what we received. The room had no small fridge or wardrobe to hang clothes but there was an open rack with a few hangers there. The shower was just bearable "warm" but very little water pressure. No bathroom cabinet or ledge to put toiletries on so they sat on the floor. We were only in Edinburgh for one full day over two nights so it would be helpful if the Staff promoted this amazing City and all that it offers with more effort and information. Would definately go to Edinburgh again. Its beautiful but would probably look for a place with more facilities on offer for the money.

Location and access to local train travel into Edinburgh Waverley. Great food. Comfortable rooms. Welcoming and helpful staff.

The noise late on a night from local 'boy racers' in their cars travelling up and down the road in the village. Both nights still revving engines and loud exhausts till approximately 1am. It's a magnet for motorbike and car meets. The pub was also closed early on the Saturday night when we got back from the city around 10pm with no prior notice. Would have been nice to have a nightcap in the pub after a long day.

The welcome upon arrival was cold and unhelpful. The location and room were both great.

The food and service were very poor. I had a steak for dinner and it was inedible. I sent it back and was offered another meal, which was a Cesar salad and that was also not very good. Breakfast was also of poor standard.

The staff were helpful and friendly.

Processo de check in complexo. Chegamos depois da meia noite e foi muito complicado conseguir contactar o alojamento pois o n.º de telemóvel que estava indicado num papel colado na porta tinha um zero que impossibilitava a chamada telefónica para alguém que não é da Escócia. O pequeno almoço termina muito cedo, pelo que saímos do alojamento sem sequer poder tomar um café. A casa de banho do quarto é antiga e precisa muito de renovação. O quarto estava muito frio. Era agradável ter sido ligado o aquecimento antes da nossa chegada e não encontrarmos um espaço gelado.

The hotel mostly met my expectations. A few things I liked about the hotel were the designated parking lot, the cozy lobby restaurant area, and the beds were fairly comfortable.

The hotel is quite old, and our room could have used some repairs to the walls and updating. The room had a smell of bleach.

The pub and food were exceptional. Room was cozy and comfortable. The location was really good for us because we were walking the John Muir way and the hotel is right on the path.

Wir hatten beim Einchecken gefragt, ob es möglich sei, das Frühstück 10 Minuten früher zu bekommen. Es hiess dann, nein, es ist erst jemand um 7 Uhr da. Ok, wenn wir um 7 Uhr frühstücken konnten, hätten wir genug Zeit bis wir um 7.30 Uhr zum Flughafen losfahren mussten (dies haben wir am Vorabend bereits dem Personal mitgeteilt). Um 7 Uhr standen wir vor dem Eingang und konnten nicht ins Gebäude rein. Man hat uns nicht gesagt, dass man den Hintereingang benutzen müsse. Wir klopften dann an die Scheiben und um 7.10 Uhr hat uns dann jemand geöffnet. Um 7.15 Uhr kam dann jemand und wollte unsere Bestellung aufnehmen. Da wir aber um 7.30 los mussten, hätten wir keine Zeit für das Frühstück gehabt. So verliessen wir dann das Hotel mit einem Lunch-Paket (kalter Toast, Apfel und Wasser). Zuhause habe ich dann die Unterkunft kontaktiert und um eine Stellungnahme gebeten. Wir haben dann die Antwort bekommen, dass es ihnen leid täte und man hat uns dann die Kosten für das Frühstück zurückerstattet.

Location was really good and the parking was an added bonus. Staff were very helpful and food very good.

Had a disabled room as part of our booking access was good however having to go outside of the building to get into the main building wasn’t great. There was a ramp into the building but it was a fire exit so couldn’t open it from the outside and main door was up two steps !

Personal no especialment simpàtic en comparació a la resta hotels del viatge. Però vam arribar justos per check-in i ens van esperar. Ben situat per anar aeroport.

Cotxes tunejats divendres nit fent curses davant. No donava confiança per deixar cotxe a la porta. Esmorzar no era self service, era a la carta i no ens va donar temps perquè havíem de marxar a l.aeroport.

Att incheckning efter 22 inte var möjlig, pga detta nära att avboka vistelsen. Upptäckte lite hårstrån på handfat och dusch, obehagligt. 😅

部屋が広く、設備も良く、滞在中はとても快適でした。 朝に無料で頂いたコーヒーはとても満足でした。

受付時やディナー時に、ホテルの方はとても忙しそうで、 人が足りていない印象がありました。

Poor room. Description and photos of room on Booking.com completely misleading. Room is in basement and basically unfurnished. I parked in front of hotel (completely legally) yet my car was removed over night due to cruise ship visit. No permission. No warning from staff.

Had the large family room. Great room with great views. Staff very friendly. Very clean. Food and service was great. Free car park is a bonus. Close to train station. Nice pub to stay in.

Location and parking is good

We waited a while being ignored to check in, and were questioned quite persistently about whether we meant to book an accessible room which did not feel appropriate and we did not appreciate. She then told us that breakfast was until 11 the next day, which we questioned as it was later than we expected, and she confirmed we would definitely be able to get breakfast any time before 11. We had to immediately head to our event then got back late, and the next day went to breakfast at 10 - the hotel was completely locked up and breakfast had actually ended at 9. We were very unhappy about this as we had pre-paid for the breakfast especially. Furthermore, the main light of our room was broken and kept flickering every few seconds (partner has a history of seizures so it was concerning as well as inconvenient). The room was very dark even with the main light in use. The free wi-fi also did not work at all and the bed was very uncomfortable as the mattress was so firm. The locks to enter the building and the room were also extremely difficult to operate and meant we spent quite a lot of time faffing about how to get in whenever we came and left. We could not even get into the hotel (all doors locked and no signs) to speak to staff. We were absolutely baffled and struggled to be able to even check out at 10:30. We then tried to call the porter and got no response. We ended up checking out much earlier than we planned. I would strongly advise against staying here, we were really disappointed and frustrated. We have travelled a lot within the UK and this has been one of our worst hotel experiences.

Pulizia molto approssimata , ambienti trasandati , pochissimo personale , letto della camera in cui abbiamo dormito che , tolto il copriletto, sembrava qualcuno ci avesse già dormito dentro , e in più la Struttura si trova sotto il Ponte della ferrovia ; passa un treno ogni 15-20’ fino oltre la Mezzanotte e le camere non hanno i doppi vetri .. Non commentabile la Prima camera consegnataci, che ho preteso di cambiare in quanto il water non aveva neppure il copri sedile !! . Allego foto e rappresentative del water della Prima Camera e di quella Consegnataci come “Upgrade”” in sostituzione di quella dett che , oltretutto era in un seminterrato!! . Anche Booking dovrebbe evitare di classificare con 4 stelle hotel che ti presentano camere seminterrato e fatiscenti !!

El alojamiento tiene parking privado (al aire libre), lo que facilita mucho la logística. Es un hotel bonito y agradable. Tienes gel, toallas, varias almohadas, café y diversos complementos en la habitación. La ubicación es bastante buena, porque llegas rápido a diversos destinos de interés.

No nos convenció la carta del restaurante como para probarla, pero el hotel bastante bien en general. Por poner una pega, mejoraría la insonorización de las habitaciones.

Loved the view & the coffee. From the room you can hear the trains but this wasn't not an issue for me . I quite enjoyed hearing them!

We stayed in the family room with the river view - which was really nice. Top marks for cleanliness. The staff were lovely.

L'hôtel est typique, la literie très confortable, la déco jolie et sobre La salle de bain mériterait d'être un peu plus travaillée, c'est dommage elle fait bas niveau par rapport au reste.

The hotel itself is fine, as is the value for money.

The customer service leading up to the stay, however, was a disaster. If you try to contact the hotel through the booking platform to let them know you’ll be arriving later, you have to call the front desk directly. After a few attempts, it finally worked. The employee took down the message and said he would pass it on to the next shift. For some reason, however, that shift never received the message, and we were just lucky that someone from the hotel—which was already closed—came out when we arrived. It took a lot of effort on our part to get the word out, and even then, the staff members in charge weren’t informed. Really poor service—especially for the price.

Großes Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung

Massiver Schimmelbefall im Bad durch ständig tropfende Dusche. Teppichbelag im Wohnbereich sehr abgenutzt. Durch eigentliche Top Lage unter der Forth Bridge entsteht allerdings soviel Zuglärm, dass man die Fenster schließen muss

Great Location, superb views, well equipped spacious room and spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast really friendly staff.

Very firm bed (that’s a personal choice) but we didn’t sleep that well because of it. And only a 4’6” bed which is quite unusual these days in hotels. The room could have easily taken king or zip together singles but these were minor things as we had a lovely stay.

Excellent breakfast, very pleasant hotel. The location is right under a railway bridge, so there was some noise, but the bridge itself is beautiful. Trains didn't seem to run overnight. Friendly staff.

We stayed in a family room. Sleeping on the pull-out sofa for two nights was manageable, but it would have been uncomfortable for any longer than that.

The noise from the railway bridge directly next to the inn, which we didn’t know about. Unfortunately didn’t get a decent night’s sleep and then woken at 7.30am by the bagpipes across the street, welcoming holiday makers off their cruise ship. Needless to say we were shattered

Nice view of the Forth bridge. But the train does run right over the top of the building, so you will her that until midnight and then starts up again at 6 am.

Very low ceilings, which is expected for such a historic building. But I’m 6’1” and smoked my head on the ceiling and door frames a couple of times.

Poco curato. Non è un 4 stelle, 3 al massimo. L'aeratore in bagno non funzionava, la teiera non funzionava. Cosa più grave, al nostro ritorno al pomeriggio abbiamo trovato la porta non chiusa, solo accostata, con all'interno della stanza le nostre cose a disposizione di chiunque fosse passato di lì.

Stanza esterna che affaccia sulla strada rumori e treno sopra di te che passa fino a tardi. Doccia orribile
