Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Rooms where clean and spacious, very homey. The restroom was small but the shower installef was overhead so it was managable. Location was superb right in the middle of San Vicente town proper near stores, laundry shops, groceries and restaurants.
Breakfast was a bit underwhelming. For starters, it starts quite late 8:30 to 10 am and eventhough we stated an exact time for us to eat ex. 10:00am she would only start to prepare the food at 10:00 am so it’s not that ideal for people with schedules tours for the day. It was low season so the restaurant was closed and the chef was not there. The breakfast was just toast and bland soggy eggs and 2 pieces of pineapple.
Like in most places the staff is always brilliantly helpful, this was the case.Contrary to what booking.com stated, the room i reserved was not the only one available infact i was the only guest so the pension admin was kind enough to offer me a larger room.Nice to find toilet paper in the bathroom and beautiful roof top terrace to relax
...mmmh,maybe the size of the bathroom
I highly recommend this accommodation. Well located, clean, quiet, comfortable and with a very friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again
Great and comfortable stay 😉 Thank you
Lovely staff, awesome restaurant on the roof with a great view. Food was delicious. The room was nice.
The location is super convenient. I've only had dinner at the restaurant once, and their gambas was delicious. I also appreciate that they open early, so you can grab coffee right away in the morning. The staff are really nice and friendly, which was a highlight. The lady managing the restaurant was particularly responsive and changed my pillows right away when I asked. The shower's water pressure is also really strong, which I like. Just a heads up, the restaurant and accommodation seem to be managed separately.
The room was unkempt, and several issues detracted from my stay. The pillows and part of the mattress had a lingering musty smell, and the faucet's rust transferred to my skin. Basic amenities like a hairdryer were missing, and the A/C wasn't cold enough, making it hard to sleep. I also didn't see any housekeeping service during my stay, and the internet was slow. The breakfast pricing seemed inconsistent too—200 pesos for a cup of coffee and two boiled eggs, but 150 pesos for a cup of coffee and scrambled eggs with cheese the next day. If you can ignore all these factors and focus on the ideal location alone, this place might be okay for you.
Stayed for 4 nights booked all the rooms (7 of us) the hosts were amazing they couldn't do enough for us showed us all the spots to go to and helped us get there! the food was incredible. The atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely stay again!!
The room was and the entire building offer a basic place to stay. The food at the restaurant on the 3rd floor was very good and reasonably priced. My AC went out on my first night there and they had a technician there to fix it within an hour or so which I was very thankful for.
This is an older building with older features. My room was tiny and basic. The internet was spotty at best, but I believe that the entire area has internet issues. If you are just looking for a no frills place to rest your head, this is it.
What an amazing place in San Vicente! Best things were the beautiful views, netflix, clean rooms, amazing terrace and food/drinks, and best of all, fabulous and kind staff upstairs!!! Shout out to Kieran and Beth!!!! <3 so worth the money
Even if I only had a very short stay, Kieran, Ginky, and Beth ensured that I felt home. They offered very sound suggestions on what I can do with my one-night only visit. Originally, my plan was just to fly to Cebu from here, but I fell in love with the place. I shall be back for more! 😁
Everything was perfect. Nothing to hate.
Really welcoming, fresh and clean in a great location. Breakfast and restaurant are great too. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
The inside of the building is very charming and the room is really nice. There is a beautiful terrace for breakfast and dinner if you like and the food is really good. Staff super helpful and friendly.
I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn’t for the bathroom. It was tiny. Shower, toilet think all in one tiny space. Don’t know if it was just our room. I don‘t really understand why. There would have been plenty of room for a separate shower. The plumbing was right there. I couldn’t even take a picture of this bathroom, that‘s how tiny it was!
Close to town
Water pressure in the shower
We rarely write reviews, but our experience at Marina 4 Rooms and its exquisitely managed restaurant has left us feeling compelled to share our thoughts. From the moment we arrived, hosts Kie, Beth and the team treated us not as mere guests but instead with warmth that feels as effortless as it is genuine. Their care and thoughtfulness infused every moment of our stay, making it truly extraordinary. The accommodations were immaculate, but the crown jewel was undoubtedly their restaurant with a westerly view out over the sea. Kie and Beth’s dedication to serve up quality food means they have to source some ingredients from far and wide. Kie went above and beyond by organising an absolute hidden gem of an experience for us—a secret phenomenon that even locals are unaware of. Without revealing too much (because this is something you must witness for yourself and is a secret worth keeping from the Instagram fueled masses), Kie & Beth's knowledge and passion for this natural event turned it into the most breathtaking moment of our 30-day journey through the Philippines. It’s an experience that words cannot do justice to, one we’ll never forget and one we will search for again in the future. Note - it does rely on certain weather conditions, but make sure to ask what I'm on about when you visit! Thank you!
Great location, clean, super friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant on the roof terrace has great food and atmosphere.
Be aware the bathroom is a wet room.
Located right next to the marina. Nice sunset views. Breakfast ok, but not very good. One day pancakes with sugar and one day english beans. Fresh made every day though. Friendly people that run this business. Nice talks and very helpful. Coffee could be better :)
You could hear every street noise. The windows can't be closed properly. Nice decorated, but not maintainted properly. We were bitten all over our legs during the nights.
Best value for money, great restaurant with hard-to-find western favorites (wine! yoghurt and granola! Sunday roast!), located steps from the town’s sole ATM and the local restaurant cluster.
As the name suggests, they only have 4 rooms so it books up quickly.
Perfect location, great value, clean rooms, incredible rooftop terrace complete with restaurant and bar. All staff members were absolutely delightful and accommodating; enriching my San Vicente experience.
We really liked how the hostel was right in the middle of San Vicente. When you woke up and walked outside, you felt like a local, and the town had a very village like feeling. The room we stayed was also nice, with a nice outside view. The rooftop lounge and kitchen was also really nice. We enjoyed the views from up there, and the staff were extremely helpful and kind.
We liked everything about it. The only thing is that it felt a bit small compared to other places we stayed at in Palawan, so might not be best for people looking for something luxurious, but that also gives it that charm.
It was a very cute room the only hot shower I’ve had in the Philippines after travelling for a month, the manages Key ( chef) and Beth, actually made my day. They set me up with accommodation the day before my booking as an emergency they were kind funny and just so welcoming you can always tell this when all the backpackers gravitate towards their restaurant without key and Beth it wouldn’t have been the same. Great views great food and the only hot shit I’ve ever had in the Philippines.
Nothing to me, this is perfect for the area best hotel best managers coolest vibes and the food was absolutely delicious.
Best value in San Vicente. The rooms are small but well-appointed and tastefully decorated, it’s in a great location in the center of the small town, and the restaurant on the roof is one of the best in the area. They serve western favorites in additional to the typical asian fare. For breakfast we had homemade yoghurt and granola, and really good coffee!
Travelers should be aware that the bathrooms are wet rooms, which we didn’t mind, especially given the very reasonable room rate.
The property is hosted by a uk couple Kie (chef) and Beth (Hotel manager / front of house) throughout my entire stay they went above and beyond to ensure I was not only satisfied with my room but also got the most out of the beautiful place that is San Vicente, from booking boat trips and organising mopeds and even taking me on a personalised tour to one of either favourite spots. This dream team made my stay in San Vicente a completely unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend checking out the hotel even if it’s just to meet the hosts.
Marina 4 rooms was absolutely stunning. The top Terrance stands taller than most other buildings in the area this along with the open air decor gives you the most amazing 360 view of the surrounding area and it is a must go stop to enjoy a good hearty meal or a drink while you watch the sunset over the horizon
The folks managing the property are kind and generous. We stayed with them over Christmas and even though we were on our way out the door they sent us off with a delicious home cooked meal and that made our travel day! The place itself has a gorgeous rooftop where they serve breakfast and other meals. We enjoyed our mornings & sunsets there overlooking the marina. It is a 15 minute walk to Long Beach where one can walk for miles and miles along a largely undeveloped Beach. The rooms are very small, but it suited my partner and I just fine for a few nights. The shower is hot and the bathroom doesn't smell, a luxury in the Philippines. The view from our room was nice and the overall nautical design elements are cute. We appreciated having a little couch next to our bed, it somehow made the whole space seem bigger even though it's quite a small room. Everything seemed clean overall and bed was comfortable. The town was alive for the holidays but doesn't go late and otherwise it is a pretty relaxed small town surrounded by beautiful beaches and nature to enjoy. The staff are also helpful in giving suggestions on what to check out during your stay. Thanks to the crew there for the good vibes during our trip in San Vicente.
AC is loud. But we actually took it apart and cleaned it which helped with the noise so we suggest more regular cleaning of them.
The Place is very accessible to everything, restaurants, bakeshops, Terminal, tho they have a rooftop bar at Marina, drinks there and food is very affordable too! Bethany was very friendly and welcoming, room is clean and comfy. foreigner friendly, the staff were very helpful for bike rentals, boat tours and things to do in the area.
nothing, everything is good!
Very nice place to stay when in San Vincente!
The people who maintain the place are always friendly and ready to help if you need directions on where to go around in the area.
The breakfast was very good quality and price, was set the the perfect area in town. Close to the beaches and restaurants. The staff offered loads of tours and activities plus always helping out with booking bike rentals, taxis, buses ect…
The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was superfriendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace is for sure the best place to hang out and the watch the sunset in San Vicente. Definitely recommend!!
such a beautiful view of the the harbour and beyond with the most stunning sunsets
nothing to speak of
A superb boutique guest house in an excuisite setting. My favourite place of the trip, made all the more enjoyable by kind and the generous hosts, Beth and Kieran. They couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. A thousand thanks
Great location with unparalleled views of sunset over the harbour and the islands beyond
Very little
Good value accommodation with San Vic’s best restaurant upstairs!
It’s location is perfect! There is a terrace with a beautiful view on the ocean. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very welcoming!
Nothing!
Amazing place with a great location, near everything you need, a lot of beautiful spot around, the staff is great and helpful ! Kieran and Bethany are the best host, and just for them I will come back, breakfast was fantastic and different every day ! Definitely a stop to do on your trip in Palawan.
Rooms are spacious, beautifully designed and had everything I needed. Beds are comfortable and the rooms were quiet and clean. Had a great evening with the friendly staff. The terrace restaurant on top of the hotel, has stunning views and the best view of sunset in the whole of San Vicente. The food here was delicious, all together I had a fantastic stay. The attention to detail and the way James goes above and beyond to help his guests, is very welcoming. San Vicente has a lot to offer with breath taking beaches, viewpoints and fun boat trips for snorkeling. Will definitely recommend and will stay again, for sure!
Nothing, had a great time!
The terrace views and very friendly staff. We also loved the food there. Owner was very helpful with booking tours of the island and recommendations in the area.
Wifi 🛜 wasn’t working.
Susan was amazingly nice and very helpful The rooms were nice
No WiFi and no TV. When we arrived nobody was there, the hotel was closed and we had to wait because the rooms were not ready. No advice on what to do in San Vicente (preferrably go to Port Barton by the way).
Well located in the centre of San Vicente, near a bakery, the market and some restaurants. 5 minutes drive from a pristine, uncrowded beach. The room is very nice, quite and comfortable. The service is careful. Highly recommended.
WOW. The most authentic place I've been to on the island. Small village with beautiful pristine beaches all around. It's the place to be for an authentic experience in the Philippines. The room was excellent. Comfortable bed, good shower, WiFi, smart TV, AC, and a nice view over the sea. It's also walking distance from anything you might need in town. I will definitely come back next year!
This place was fantastic. My room was huge and very comfortable. The staff was so kind and helpful. I liked it so much that I came back a few days later to spend my last night in San Vicente, before heading back. I HIGHLY recommend staying here when you come to San Vicente. I'll be back for the surf, and will ALWAYS stay here in the future. BTW the rates were SO good.
I had a really great stay. I really loved the comfortable bed, pillows that made it easy to sleep and get some rest. The room smelled fresh and clean. I used the smart tv that is bigger than the normal. Internet was fast, and the town is quite and near the most beautiful beaches I've seen on Palawan so far.
Nothing
Had everything we needed
I missed my flight as I arrived at Praia late due to the delay of the international flight. This caused me to miss the local flight Best fly to Soa Vincente. Sadly I was not reached by the hotel for any rearrangement or consideration.
The room was clean and everything works, including the AC and hot water. Staff was at hand to handle problem, i.e.,broken AC. It was also a good location being near the pier where I conducted field research.
The breakfast was so-so. I wish they'd serve more than eggs. The bread needs to be toasted.
Nice room, building is located a block away from Mango Bar. Staff is helpful; I arrived a day earlier & the staff on site hasn’t received the new reservation that I made, so I showed her my other reservation & se immediately worked on preparing my room.
WiFi was spotty, but it seemed like a Palawan-wide problem, so can’t really blame the hotel for that. Minor complaint: Shower was a bit cramped, but worked very well.
Nice, big rooms , central location, helpfully stuff
Loud air-condition, you can not set up a correct level of working. Either it works 100% either 0%. Small bathroom.
Kind concierge who organized everything for us, nice rooms and best located. Restaurants, public market, boat tours .. all nearby. San Vicente is a great place.
I have to mention the aircon, which is a regular model but however, quite noisy to sleep with (had the same in Manila, Coron …)
Very cozy place with beautiful floors and nice touch in decoration👌
Nice manager
Ants invaded when woke up. Music booming against wall from 7 to midnight. No division between shower and rest of bathroom.
Great rooms, food, and the best host
It’s very homey and clean. It’s also close to the market and food court which I appreciated so I can just walk to get something to eat. As a solo traveler I felt safe in the area.
San Vicente is a very laidback place so don’t expect much of a night life:)
friendly staff
quite far far and swimming location.om outher beach
The location is right by the bay, close to restaurants within a few moments of walking. James the owner was great and showed me around. His main worker, Susan was outstanding for anything I needed and had a great personality. A new and wonderful bakery across the street.
I can't think of anything I didn't like.
So friendly and helpful staff. I could use theyre fridge and kitchen because the restaurant was closed. Room is small but nice
The village was not as beautiful as expected but it's okey for 1night
Soft bed, pillows, nice blankets, clean bedsheets & pillowcases. Strong water in bathroom with shower water heater. Separate comfort rooms in the main hallway. The establishment's location is in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to shuttle van terminal, eateries, bakeries, etc.
Tiny bathroom with door needing replacement/repair. A/C need a bit of cleaning and a bit more dusting in other areas. Off-season/closed rooftop restaurant. Room/s could do with a bit of nice, fresh scent (welcoming ambience) although there was no bad smell at all. No courier/delivery services such as LBC Express, 2go, etc. necessary for business travelers like us.
Super clean hotel plus the beds are the comfiest we’ve experienced in the Phillipines so far :) James (the manager ) and the staff were really accommodating, assisting our every need. They went above and beyond to recommend us places to eat and an ideal itinerary of the area in addition to assisting in bike rental and transfer to el nido.
Due to it being low season it was a shame but understandable that the restaurant was closed as this would’ve given us more local options for food
Very nice and accommodating owner. Friendly staff. Quaint rooms which reminds me of my college dorm with excellent views of the beach. Will definitely stay here again!
Very nice view Comfortable bed All amenities included Super clean Flexible check in time
Wifi very slow and unstable Restaurant on the top not working
What we like in our room, was that it was clean, wifi was very good. We had a mini fridge and Smart tv with Netflix. The view was very nice. And we had hot water in the shower.
What we didn't like was that the restaurant was kinda overpriced for what you get. And also my partner got food poisoning so she was very sick the next day after having dinner here . I think is important to know that if they are cooking fish they should cook it properly, even if it's a fresh fish, temperatures are the importance here. One morning I ordered breakfast without knowing that it will cost 200 pesos (my mistake for not asking beforehand) I got two pancakes without any syrup, so I had to asked for honey and I was expecting to get real coffee because the owner said that they have a Moka pot but instead I got this instant "coffee" sachet, we usually get this ones in other hotel for free because is just actually a powder. So definitely don't recommend the restaurant here. Luckily some restaurants around were open and they were actually very good and cheap for local food. Other things we did not like was that they don't have a reception so it was hard to find someone at some point when we needed it. Like when we run out of toilet paper and we wanted them to take the trash of our rooms, and we wanted to ask for a plate and some cutlery. Anyway probably in a few years this place will get better. The owner was very nice so I hope they get more staff to work there and improve the restaurant.
The room is cute and clean. the roof top area is nice. Staffer is super nice and helped me arrange my travel to Port Barton (which is not the easiest for a solo traveler).
Bathroom is just the toilet so it’s quite small… but the shower has good water pressure and properly hot water (which you don’t always get when traveling in the Philippines!) so that makes up for the size. when the Italian restaurant is not open, there are only very very few places in town where you could eat. so better to confirm whether the restaurant will be open before booking.
I loved this hotel! So clean and fresh and specially the TV with movies and the awesome sunset views. Also amazing terrace! And the nicest staff! Thanks Nico for your help and good vibes!✨☺️
Clean, fresh room. Polite helpful staf. Privacy. Marinas chef made such amazing italian dinner. You cant leave this accomodation whitout tasting this delicious meals. I really hope tourist will find back to San Vicente after pandemic and stay nights in Marina4rooms.
Really good hosts. Nice food, but you have to preorder so the chef can prepare it. From the terrace you have the most beautiful sunset and the terrace itself is really nice. Really comfy bed and its quiet at night.
Typical philipino air conditioning, which are very noisy.
The room we stayed in was a superior double room which was good nice and spacious, good location in town, nice sunset from roof top terrace, rooms are clean, shower is good.
No toilet paper in room. restaurant was not open which was part of the reason why we booked this accommodation, breakfast was below average (with no choice) and not sure why this is scored so high in previous review but this is probably due to the restaurant not open?
Bed. Pillow. Blanket. Friendly staff.
Noisy aircon. Shower wasnt clean when I arrived (soap used and water on the floor as if someone had showered right before I got the room). The fact that they did not notice me in advance that the restaurant is temporarily closed.
-James (owner) is Really nice guy and also good Italian chef. He knows Palawan tourism very well and would like to consult him where should I visit/stay and how to travel if I could have time 10-15days in Palawan. -In the center of town and very close to local restaurant, mini mart, E-trikes station, etc... -Small but clean and cozy room. -Excellent Italian seafood dinner on the roof top restaurant.
Room and dinner were bit pricy for budget traveler compare with other hotel / restaurant in Coron, El Nido, Boracay.
Kinda pricey, but seems to be normal in the region. Susanne was very friendly, chatty, gave me everything I asked for. Gorgeous views, aircon working, all perfect!
Absolutely the best Italian food in Palawan. The Italian chef prepares meals to order using whatever are the freshest local ingredients available on that day. The slipper lobsters and fish were perfectly cooked and presented and accompanied by a bottle of the best wine (Italian of course) that we had in Palawan.
The bathroom is very small but I think that's taken account of in the 2000 pesos per night room rate which overall is good value for money.
As the first guests after the long Corona break we were spoiled in Marina4rooms. Wonderful Susan prepared us a dream breakfast every morning according to our wishes, which we enjoyed very much on the roof terrace with the best sea view. Owner Eric took his time, showed us small fishing villages and hikes. Who loves lonely, long and untouched beaches is exactly right here. Besides the Long Beach, there is a lot to discover in all directions. Our tip - Don't miss the viewpoint above Santo Nino. The drive is quite adventurous but it is definitely worth it! The small accommodation is very tastefully and lovingly built and furnished. we felt so comfortable that we spontaneously extended our stay.
The fact that we were the first guests after the long break unfortunately had a small disadvantage - the highly praised Italian restaurant on the roof terrace only opened a few days after our departure. Who knows - maybe there will still be a chance for us to try it out sometime.
