The breakfast was delicious and had everything you could think of. Our room was big and clean and had everything we needed. Even a welcome letter with our name on it and explaining all the details which was very sweet. All the staff was so nice and helpful! We would love to stay longer!

Zimmer liegt auf der Rückseite der Anlage, leider läuft jeder an der offenen Terrasse vorbei, also keine Privatsphäre

Contractors didn’t clean up their mess and was left in the corridor next door to the room. The mattress needs replacement. Rodents were running around in the ceiling at night. Overall had a terrible stay and woke up tired and with aches and pains.

Reviewed Mar 19, 2026Personalen är trevlig i restaurangen. De hade alltid ett leende även ifall det var varmt i solen. All personal bar svarta kläder så extra guldstjärna att de klarade av värmen med dessa varma arbetskläder.
Vi bokade detta Guest House eftersom det var nära stranden och såg så trevligt ut på bilderna. Tyvärr tillhör ”The Cottage Pie” ett annat hotel så rummen ligger bakom det andra hotellet och dess byggnader. Detta framgår ej när man bokar utan först när man försöker hitta hotellet och det står ett annat namn på skyltarna i receptionen. Vi fick hjälp att hitta för annars hade vi aldrig hittat. Bilderna är förskönade och rummen är slitna i verkligheten. Vårt rum luktade stark målarfärg och ibland urin från avloppet. Det fanns även en liten pool som tillhörde ”The Cottage Pie” men hotellet lät alla gäster inkl barn bada i den poolen så det var även stimmigt på dagarna. Det är även alldeles för dyrt och fyra stjärnor stämmer ej. Detta är mer ett slitet 3 stjärns hotell. Tyvärr är detta inte ett hotell som jag rekommenderar och kommer ej boka igen.

Reviewed Feb 28, 2026Bei der Buchung haben wir aus Versehen ein falsches Datum eingegeben und erst später bemerkt. Trotz Festbuchung hat man uns problemlos auf das richtige Datum umgebucht, wodurch wir sogar ein besseres Zimmer erhielten. Wir waren sehr froh darüber. Die Lage in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet mit kurzem Weg zum Traumstrand Robberg Beach ist absolut traumhaft.
Die Hotelanlage besteht aus mehreren unterschiedlichen (ehem. privaten) Häusern, die auf der Rückseite untereinander mit Wegen verbunden sind. Das Personal ist teils wenig motiviert. Am Frühstücksbuffet musten wir einer Mitarbeiterin beobachten, wie sie ihre verlängerten Fingernägel mit einem Zahnstocher reinigte. Der Gastraum wurde noch gefegt, nachdem die ersten Gäste bereits Platz genommen haben.Die Auswahl von Backwaren ist stark reduziert und konzentriert sich auf Toast, der in der Küche getoastet und dann an den Tisch gebracht wird. Am Ende des Frühstücks wird eine Abrechnung über R 0 kommentarlos präsentiert. Am oberen Pool läuft das Wasser der Dusche unterhalb des Hollzrostes direkt in den Pool. Im Zimmer haben sie während unseres 4- tägigen Aufenthalts nicht geschafft, in der Deckenlampe 3 von 3 defekten LED Leuchtmitteln zu ersetzen. Einer der beiden Sessel war durchgesessen, eine gebrochene Metallfeder schaute unten durch den zerfetzten Stoff heraus.

Eine kurze Nachfrage hat gereicht und wir durften umziehen und haben dann glücklich unsere übrigen Tage verbracht. Ganz toll war das Frühstück. Mit vielen warmen Speisen zum Bestellen, frischem Obst und allem was man braucht.
Die Zimmer im Cottage Pie sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Reviewed Feb 13, 2026Beautiful waffles for breakfast and options to eat. Loved the turn down service in the room and my daughter loved the little chocolates left at the end of the evening. Toiletries were lovely too. The lower pool was brilliant too.
In the self catering cottage, CP9 we had doors (With burglar bars)that opened right out onto a drive and quiet road and we weren't advised that we were able to park there etc. We felt maybe a little more vulnerable and out of the way at the back of the property because it felt a little more open and had booked Cottage Pie thinking we were more enclosed and could feel safe etc. That would probably be my only advice is to make families aware of this on booking.

The bed was very uncomfortable, pillows rock hard. I did ask for some soft ones but they were tiny and not enough support. Matress was terrible! Lots of ants in the room, and the air con unit was noisy. Quite old and dripped on us a few times. There was work going on during the day in an adjacent room which is not acceptable during the summer season in my opinion. Also, on the two occasions we had room service, the empty plates were still on a table outside our room the following day.E

Reviewed Jan 28, 2026This apartment was at the far end of the Property but had a side gate which brought you closer to the villa with a parking area.. the restaurant was up on the higher level overlooking the Beach. an amazing view. the beach was a 5 min walk and a huge beach it was...we had dinner the first night which was lovely the staff were very attentive a nice. Breakfast was very nice as well all freshly cooked..we would definitely stay at this property again

Kamer grootte Kamers waren wat verouderd en pand kon wel wat verf gebruiken. Hygiëne in de badkamer. Rook er bijvoorbeeld naar urine maar dit leek echt in de voegen te zitten, was een oude wc borstel. Personeel deed wel ontzettend zijn best om hier wat aan te doen.

Reviewed Jan 14, 2026Everything about Cottage Pie is the things dreams are made of. The outside view from the restaurant is amazing and I could just sit there for hours. Perfect location. It is definetly now my preferred stay in Plett and will hopefully keep coming year after year. We stayed in the self catering unit and we enjoyed that we could prepare our own meals and the unit was spacious.

Reviewed Jan 1, 2026Top Lage direkt am Strand mit einer herrlichen Aussicht beim Frühstück. Es gibt auch genug Parkplätze für die Gäste. Die Anlage ist geräumig und übersichtlich und auch schön gepflegt. Das Frühstück is gut und das Personal wirklich zuvorkommend.
Wir hatten das „Cottage Pie“ gebucht (Zimmer 04 und 05). Dort hat man keine Aussicht, weder auf das Meer, noch auf den Pool (nur auf den Zaun). Der Wasserdruck am Morgen / Abend war ungenügend und teilweise tröpfelte die Dusche nur (oder nur heißes Wasser kam). Zudem stank der Ablauf im Bad sehr stark und dies konnte auch nach der Reinigung nicht behoben werden. Die installierten Decken-Ventilatoren (nicht die AC) waren in beiden Zimmern ausgefallen und konnten auch in den 4 Tagen nicht repariert werden. Daher blieb nur die Klimaanlage um einen Luftzug im Raum zu organisieren (Nachts). Grundsätzlich war es zu teuer im Bezug auf das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und wie buchen nächstes Mal ein anderes Guesthouse.

Reviewed Dec 17, 2025I wasn’t entirely familiar with the property or area and so everything came as a surprise in particular the immediate access to arguably the most popular beach in Plett. The reception with view the over the ocean just knocked us out. We’ll definitely be back!!!
We dined in on our last night. The prawns were not properly prepared. They had not been butterflied to remove the vein and instead cooked as is by what I can only assume is an inexperienced cook.
