Die 2 Tage Dschungeltour mit Irwin und Gerry war ein Erlebnis. Noch vor dem Eingang des Nationalparkes konnten wir den ersten Orang Utan sehen. Es wurden immer wieder Pausen gemacht essen und auch zum trinken. Die Zwei konnten uns sogar den seltenen Sumatra Pfau zeigen.

Locatie en vriendelijk personeel. Personeel zeer behulpzaam met het regelen van vervoer van en naar Bukit Lawang van Medan.

Voor verblijf van 3 dagen wordt kamer niet schoongemaakt en handdoeken worden niet verschoond. Badkamer is slipperig als het nat is. Je kan gemakkelijk uitglijden.

Le jardin de l’hôtel au bord de la rivière est très joli et paisible. Le personnel est très accueillant, á l’écoute et disponible. Ils viennent vous récupérer à l’entrée du village et transportent les lourds bagages. Les guides EWIN et Pajar qui nous ont accompagnés dans la jungle sont vraiment super, ils étaient aux petits soins avec nous, ravis de nous faire découvrir la jungle et son environnement. On a croisé 8 oranges-outans, 3 gibbons, super moment.

We had a wonderful time at the Garden Inn. They were so helpful in confirming all the booking arrangements in advance, including our transfers and jungle trek (which all worked brilliantly). The rooms are cosy and well ventilated (with good fans) which helps manage the temperature. Good bathrooms also. It’s a fabulous setting and location - we actually saw an orangutan in the trees across the river directly opposite the hotel! Monkeys come and play on the balcony (need to be alert to that!) and you certainly feel immersed in the jungle. We did the 2 day 1 night trek arranged through the hotel with Kanopi Sumatra, which was an absolute highlight. All in all an extraordinary and very memorable experience.

A little more variety for breakfast would be welcome.

De locatie in de jungle is perfect. De medewerkers zijn super en regelen alles voor je, ook qua excursies. Het eten in het restaurant was heerlijk. De apen lopen letterlijk over de daken en loeren bij je naar binnen, erg grappig om eens mee te maken!

Uit de douche kwam niet meer dan een heel dun straaltje koud water.

Prachtige locatie in Bukit Lawang. Zicht op de grote jungle waar we vanaf ons buitenzitje nog een prachtige hornbill hebben gespot. Lekker eenvoudig maar verschrikkelijk lekker gegeten in hun restaurant en de mensen zijn zo aardig. Een echte aanrader. De sfeer past helemaal bij de locatie. Tijdens de jungle track vele oerang oetangs gezien en ook nog een caravan van een meter of 2

Struttura meravigliosa, immersa nella giungla e perfettamente integrata con l’ambiente circostante, grazie all’utilizzo di legno e pietra che le conferiscono un’atmosfera davvero suggestiva. Lo staff è sempre stato molto gentile e disponibile, anche prima della partenza, rispondendo con professionalità e cortesia a tutti i nostri messaggi su Booking. La nostra camera era spaziosa e davvero particolare, con una parte letteralmente incastonata nella roccia. Il balcone affacciava direttamente sulla giungla e abbiamo ricevuto anche la visita di diverse scimmie: per noi è stata un’emozione bellissima! Molto buono anche il ristorante della struttura: abbiamo mangiato davvero bene e i noodles erano spettacolari. Con loro abbiamo organizzato anche l’escursione nella giungla, che nel complesso è stata molto bella, coinvolgente ed emozionante. Le due persone che ci hanno accompagnato sono state gentilissime; in particolare, l’aiutante della guida, di cui purtroppo non ricordo il nome e che si sta formando per diventare guida ufficiale, è stato super simpatico, disponibile e anche molto preparato.

L’aspetto negativo principale della camera è sicuramente l’umidità, davvero molto elevata. Comprendo che ci si trovi nel cuore della giungla e che quindi un certo livello di umidità sia inevitabile, ma nella nostra camera era talmente forte da sentirla letteralmente addosso. In tre giorni nessuno dei nostri vestiti è riuscito minimamente ad asciugarsi. Considerata la bellezza e la particolarità della stanza, non é chissà che problema Per quanto riguarda l’escursione nella giungla, l’esperienza è stata molto bella e le nostre guide sono state ottime. L’unico aspetto che ci ha un po’ deluso è stato incontrare lungo il percorso moltissimi altri gruppi di turisti. Eravamo partiti soltanto io e mio marito con due membri dello staff e ci aspettavamo quindi un’esperienza un po’ più intima e immersiva. Non so se sia possibile prevedere percorsi alternativi o meno battuti, ma credo che renderebbe l’esperienza ancora più autentica e permetterebbe di godersi maggiormente l’atmosfera incredibile della giungla.

Posto incantevole e accogliente, camera ampia con affaccio sul fiume e sulla giungla. Ristorante ottimo, staff gentilissimo e servizi per attività extra fantastici. Consigliamo il trekking nella giungla con loro, un grazie speciale alle guide Irfan, Kajo, Erwin and Ipol.

La struttura del Garden Inn è fantastica, molto curata sia all'interno che all'esterno. È in riva al fiume, lo staff è gentilissimo e disponibile.

La chambre était jolie, et avec une très belle vue. Le petit déjeuner était bon et le restaurant sur place excellent pour le soir. Très bien situé au calme.

La douche était un filet d’eau, très peu de pression compliqué pour se laver les cheveux. Moustiquaires trop petite pour le lit qui la rend inefficace. Globalement cher pour les prestations proposées.

Everything was amazing! The people here are so friendly and relaxed. The room was clean and comfortable, and there were monkeys everywhere! The accommodation is also really close to the beautiful river. And the food was absolutely delicious! We booked a jungle tour with Jerry and Issan and were lucky enough to see some orangutans along the way. We really enjoyed our stay. ❤️

One of the absolute highlights of my trip to Indonesia! The views are simply breathtaking, the rooms are authentic and full of character, making the whole experience feel truly special. The staff are amazing, always smiling, welcoming, and genuinely caring. They made me feel at home from the very first moment. The jungle trek was the best experience of my trip. A huge thank you to Jerry and Dan, such kind, friendly, and knowledgeable guides. Exploring the jungle with them was unforgettable. We voelden ons meer dan welkom! Het personeel was ongelooflijk vriendelijk en behulpzaam! Accomodatie was prachtig en faciliteiten was meer dan genoeg. Er werd een village-tour aangeboden bij interesse waarbij we veel hebben gezien, geleerd en geproefd Ook 2- daagse jungletrek gedaan. Dit zat geweldig in elkaar. We voelden ons veilig bij onze gidsen en qua eten ontbrak het aan niets.

Alleen de douche(straal) was zwak, maar is niet noemenswaardig.

Heel mooi gelegen aan de rivier. Behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Wij hadden de familiekamer met stapelbed. Netjes en schoon. Wel heel primitief maar dat wisten we. De jungletrekking geboekt via de accommodatie en die is aan te bevelen, zeker met kinderen!

Om vanaf de parkeerplaats opgehaald te worden met scooters moesten we plotseling 5 euro betalen. Dat was van te voren niet aangegeven. We werden daardoor voor het blok gezet en dat is niet ok.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Garden Inn. The surrounding setting is lovely, and the entire property is impeccably clean. What surprised me most was the complete absence of mosquitoes during my stay. The complimentary breakfast tasted wonderful, and the bed was incredibly soft and cozy. Every room boasts outstanding ventilation, so it never felt stuffy or hot even overnight. I fell asleep peacefully listening to calming white noise from the nearby river, and enjoyed some of my best rest in a long while. I would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The staff we so helpful and friendly. Especially our guides and chef on our trek- Rudi, Fajar and Ari who made our trek amazing. The food in the restaurant was amazing, the location was great, close to the river and near shops and other restaurants.

The room was facing the river which was about the o y thing that was good about the place

The rooms are old and made out of wooden furniture; since the room never gets any sunlight the wood stinks a bit of old and musty. There were geckos 🦎 in the room which scared the hell out of me. The water pressure for showering was too low and the hot water was on for about 5 minutes when showering. The rest of the time one had to do with cold water. There was one small fan in the room making it way too hot during the day. The electricity conked off almost every time in the middle of the night and the staff had to be informed to get it on. For eg I had to leave at 07:30 and woke up at 5am to no electricity. The rooms smell strange and although I do understand we are in the middle of a rain forest which doesn’t mean the place needs to be outdated.

Lekker eten in restaurant maar in verhouding erg duur. Ontbijt lekker maar niet uitgebreid.

Kamer was erg basic, stond alleen een bed. Matras erg hard. We verbleven 3 nachten, kamer werd niet schoongemaakt, moesten zelf om handdoeken en wc papier vragen. Geen water op de kamer. Stroom is meerder keren uitgevallen, dus erg donker in de nacht. Rivier maakt veel herrie. Prijs/kwaliteit onvoldoende. Ik zou het niet nog een keer boeken.

The location overlooking the river, which you hear rushing by at night, the staff (so friendly and helpful), the property and grounds are gorgeous and beautifully kept, the food is fresh and well cooked.

A couple of extra bath mats would be helpful - the bathroom is a wet room, which is lovely, but I slipped on the wet floor. Having an extra bath mat. Would be really handy - one to put by the sink so you don’t slip there and one to put in the floor as you walk in to use as you cross the bathroom floor.

One of the most incredible stays we’ve had. Not only are the staff amazing and greet you with a welcome drink, the facilities and views of the river are second to none. The garden makes you feel like you are in paradise and the breakfast was really tasty! We booked transport and trekking through garden inn and both were seamless and smooth transactions. We did a 3 day trek with our AMAZING guides Marwan, Pazar & (Etom and Irpan the fantastic chef). They were extremely patient, accommodating, funny, knowledgable and made our whole trip unforgettable. The best guides we could have asked for and truly taught us all there was to know about their home (Bukit Lawang jungle). I couldn’t recommend this place more and we will certainly be back!

Une expérience inoubliable ! Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel au Garden Inn à Bukit Lawang. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de professionnalisme. Un immense merci au patron, qui parle français et qui a toujours été disponible pour nous conseiller et nous aider. Merci également à Pen pour sa disponibilité, son efficacité et son professionnalisme, ainsi qu’à toute l’équipe qui nous a fait sentir comme à la maison. Le cadre est magnifique, avec une superbe vue sur la jungle. Les repas et les petits-déjeuners étaient délicieux et variés, et la prise en charge depuis l’aéroport a été parfaitement organisée, ce qui a rendu notre arrivée très sereine. Mais le point culminant de notre séjour a sans aucun doute été le trek de 2 jours et 1 nuit dans la jungle organisé par l’hotel et Pen. Un immense merci à Organiser, Riswan et iPod, des guides absolument exceptionnels ! Drôles, attentionnés, passionnés et toujours à l’écoute, ils ont rendu cette aventure unique. Nous souhaitons également remercier chaleureusement le cuisinier du camp, qui nous a régalés au cœur de la jungle avec des repas savoureux, généreux et préparés avec beaucoup de soin. Pouvoir déguster d’aussi bons plats dans un cadre aussi exceptionnel a largement contribué à rendre cette aventure encore plus mémorable. Après six mois de voyage à travers le monde, nous pouvons affirmer que ce trek fait partie des expériences les plus fortes et marquantes que nous ayons vécues. Nous avons eu la chance d’observer des orangs-outans dans leur habitat naturel, mais aussi de nombreux singes, des oiseaux fascinants, des insectes impressionnants et toute la richesse de la faune locale. Nos guides nous ont partagé avec passion une multitude d’informations sur les animaux, leurs comportements et leur environnement, ce qui a rendu l’expérience encore plus enrichissante. Nous repartons avec des souvenirs incroyables et une immense gratitude envers toute l’équipe du Garden Inn.

Wij hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad in Bukit Lawang. Het hotel ligt prachtig aan de rand van de jungle, waardoor je echt midden in de natuur zit. De kamer was schoon en comfortabel en het personeel was ontzettend vriendelijk. Ze helpen je graag met alles en zorgen ervoor dat je je meteen welkom voelt. Via Garden Inn hebben we ook een jungletocht met overnachting geboekt, en dat was absoluut het hoogtepunt van onze reis! Onze gidsen, Ipan en Didde, hebben er alles aan gedaan om ons een onvergetelijke ervaring te bezorgen. Tijdens de tocht hebben we veel verschillende apen en andere dieren gezien. Onderweg kregen we volop lekker eten en vers fruit, wat allemaal uitstekend verzorgd was. Als je een jungletocht boekt via Garden Inn, vraag dan zeker naar Ipan en Didde. Dit zijn echt twee toppers die hun werk met veel passie doen en ervoor zorgen dat je een geweldige ervaring hebt. Een absolute aanrader!

De waterdruk van de douche is heel laag maar ach, dit was geen groot probleem hoor.

Situé un peu plus loin que l'hyper centre et à proximité immédiate de la rivière. Le lit est comfortable et le ventilateur fonctionne bien. Sur la terrasse on avait un hamac agréable dans lequel se poser. Les macaques sont dans les alentours. Le personnel est adorable et à l'écoute. Expérience avec un peu moins de confort qu'avec une climatisation mais que nous recherchions pour faire la transition avant le trek dans la jungle :)

Le bruit de la rivière est assez fort donc prévoyez des boules quies si c'est quelquechose qui peut vous déranger.

Die Lage ist top..am Ende der Orang-Utan Straße in schöner grüner Lage... ein Traum...das Zimmer wirkt urig, toller Ausblick auf den Fluss, tolles Essen, tolle Menschen.. und Affen am Morgen, die sogar bis auf den Balkon vorbei schauen.

Es gibt wenig Schränke oder Haken, um was aufzuhängen, sonst nix zu meckern...

Very nice stay. Good help from staff and specially Pen who is always in a good mood. With Rudi and Dan as guides, we had a very good jungle tour. They had a lot of information. Saw orang utangs and other apes. And enjoyed a very good lunch.

What stood out was the staff. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Rudi & Dan gave the best jungle trekking tour you can find in Bukit Lawang, or at least they make you think that!

I would not recommend the massage

I'm very surprised at how everyone seemed to love this property in the reviews so ours may have been a unique experience. But I would like to share our experience: The hotel messaged us that all activities had to be paid in cash. What they didn't mention is that there are no ATM's in Bukit Lawang. The nearest one is in a town 30km away and they offered to take us (on a motorcycle) but in researching, we found that the machine doesn't accept VISA. The only money exchange in Bukit Lawang charges 7%. So don't make the mistake we made...get cash ahead of time! The hotel sits right on the main road along the river and it is so busy with motorcycles and in the afternoon, people screaming as they come down the river on their tubes. The road is really just a pathway about 5' wide and between the noise you hear from your hotel room and trying to walk that pathway, it's not fun at all. The real deal breaker was the room. It had bathroom on the ground floor, then you had to climb a flight of stairs and then a steep wooden ladder to get to the bedroom. Not a lot of fun in the middle of the night. We ended up finding a darling bungalow across the river...no motorcycles, no stairs to the bedroom. It had a/c, which this hotel doesn't, great water pressure in the shower and cost less! We found an excellent trekking company that accepted credit cards and it actually cost 10 euros less. Our hotel let us charge everything...food, airport transfer. No cash! This hotel did refund us the unused nights booked, which we appreciate. But leaving it was the best decision we made.

Personeel was super vriendelijk. Hielp ons met alles om het verblijf aangenaam te maken. Omgeving is prachtig. Speciaal te noemen: Adi en Jerry onze tour guides tijdens onze 1 daagse trekking door de jungle. Veel gezien, veel gelachen en goed verzorgd👍

Alles heeft voor en nadelen. Heerlijk, aapjes die spelen voor je neus, maar in de ochtend springen ze op het dak...geeft wat lawaai.

Zum Aufladen der elektronischen Geräten sollten im Zimmer mehrere Stecker installiert werden. Es gab nur eins an der Wand. Es fehlt an Haken oder Kleiderbügeln um die Kleider aufzuhängen. Das Licht ist zu düster. Die Eingangstüre und das Schloss müssten ausgewechselt werden. Der Balkon sollte täglich gereinigt werden. Die Affen springen in der Früh herum und lassen ihre Bedürfnisse liegen. Ansonsten ist das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein schöner gepflegter Garten. Several power outlets should be installed in the room for charging electronic devices. There was only one on the wall. There are no hooks or hangers to hang the clothes. The light is too dim. The front door and the lock would need to be replaced. The balcony should be cleaned daily. The monkeys jump around in the morning and leave their droppings behind. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and helpful. A lovely, well-maintained garden.

Beim Frühstück wäre grössere Auswahl wünschenswert. A wider selection at breakfast would be desirable.

It was our first night after landing in Sumatra. We originally expected just a basic accommodation in a village near the national park entrance, but the village turned out to be a hidden paradise! Our guide met us at the village entrance, and as we walked, they greeted everyone along the way. All the locals were incredibly warm and welcoming, asking where we were from. The hotel is built right by the river, surrounded by tropical flowers and trees, and featured an amazing riverside shelter—perfect for relaxing and embracing the slow pace of life. The hotel is located deep inside the village, but the path leading to it is lined with inns and homestays, beautifully balancing the natural charm of a rainforest village with commercial convenience. The room itself was also very neat and tidy.

However, there were a few minor downsides. The room didn't have sealable windows, so in addition to the soothing sound of the river, you could hear quite a bit of motorcycle noise from the village. Fortunately, we were exhausted from a full day of flying and driving, so we fell asleep instantly. Also, the water pressure in the shower was very low, making it almost impossible for anyone with long hair to wash it properly.

Garden Inn is een dikke 10 waard! Hele fijne service, mooi complex, fijne kamers met prachtig uitzicht op de jungle. Het eten is heerlijk. Mini supermarkt en Wasservice tegenover het hotel. Wij hebben hier 3 nachten ontzettend genoten. Vis hun ook de jungle toer geboekt en daar waren we heel blij mee. Zoveel moois gezien incl 10 orang-Oetans! De gidsen zijn fantastisch
