Lovely location on top of the hill leading to the jungle for treks (which means you get to get up later than others). Spacious rooms and comfy bed. I extended my stay because I enjoyed the location a lot and found it relaxing. Rooms are basic with no AC but AC is really not needed here in Bukit Lawang as it gets colder at night and the fan helps if you need it. I even slept without the fan most nights.

Wir haben 2 Nächte im Orang Utan Bungalow verbracht und sind anschließend auf die 3 Tage Trekking Tour gegangen. Schon im Bungalow war das Personal unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auf der Trekking Tour hatten wir Robin als Guide, er hat sich so viel Mühe gegeben dass wir jedes Tier sehen und hatte immer gute Laune. Er hat und sogar seine Flip Flop gegeben, da wir unsere vergessen hatten, obwohl er dann barfuß durch den Fluss laufen musste. Der Koch beim Trekking hat uns sehr gut bekocht, wir hatten immer eine Portion für sechs statt für zwei Leute. Ich kann nur empfehlen über das Orang utan Bungalow das Trekking zu buchen.

Das Speisenangebot war für unsere Ansprüche ausreichend. Es war günstig und alles wurde frisch und schnell zubereitet. Der Fußmarsch zur Unterkunft dauerte 15 Min-bergauf-das war mit Gepäck anstrengend, aber es gab Gepäckträger, die gegen 2,50€ ein Gepäckstück rauf trugen. Selbst hätten wir das schwerlich geschafft. Dafür ist die Lage sehr ruhig und direkt am Eingang zum Nationalpark gelegen. Wir hatten das 2d/1n Trekking direkt dort gebucht. Unser Guide Dian war hervorragend zusammen mit noch einem zweiten Begleiter. Sie waren beide sehr hilfsbereit und orientierten sich an unserem Tempo und unseren Bedürfnissen. Vielen Dank den beiden für das tolle Trekking. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis dieser Anlage ist unschlagbar und alle Bediensteten sind äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir würden beim nächsten Mal wieder kommen.

Wir hatten die Unterkunft zweimal gebucht. Die ersten beiden Tage waren wir in einem neueren Bungalow untergebracht, mit dem wir sehr zufrieden waren. Für die zweite Buchung, das war noch eine Nacht nach dem Trekking mussten wir in einen älteren Bungalow auf der Rückseite der Anlage umziehen. Der war schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und der Platz sehr eng um das Bett herum. Einen Koffer öffnen konnten wir dort nicht.

This is a great place to stay to get away from it all but a small price to pay for that privilege is a steep climb up a hill and maybe a 15 minute walk, not too good if you’re taking a large suitcase. The staff picked us up and carried my small suitcase up to the top for me.

Wir waren vier Tage in den Orang Utan Bungalows und können sie absolut empfehlen. Der 15‑minütige Aufstieg ist gut machbar, oben wartet eine traumhafte Lage mit Blick auf den Mount Sinabung, auch wenn wir ihn wegen der Eruption nicht sehen konnten. Dschungeltouren starten direkt vor Ort, und zwischen den Bäumen tummeln sich Affen und Thomas Leaf Monkeys. Das Personal ist superfreundlich, das Restaurant gemütlich und das Essen lecker. Dazu gibt’s einen Wäscheservice – rundum ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt. Man kann über die Rezeption Touren als auch Fahrer für An- und Abreise buchen. Unser Fahrer, der uns am Flughafen Medan abgeholt hatte, war auch top. Die Fahrt war sehr kurzweilig und wir hatten einen super Essensstop eingelegt.

Super gelegene Unterkunft – vor allem wenn man in den Dschungel möchte. Während des Frühstücks laufen regelmäßig Gruppen aus dem Dorf unten am Hotel vorbei, weil das Hotel sehr praktisch direkt am Nationalpark gelegen ist. Die Zimmer selbst sind einfach gestaltet, haben aber alles, was man braucht. Wir hatten sogar Affen auf dem Balkon! Wir haben auch eine Wanderung über die Unterkunft gebucht und waren total begeistert. Noch vor Beginn wurden wir von den Mitarbeitern gerufen, da im Wald vor der Unterkunft schon ein Orang-Utan war. Auch die Tour selbst war ein Highlight, wir konnten weitere Orang-Utans sowie verschiedene andere Tiere sehen und die beiden Guides haben uns immer sicher fühlen lassen und außerdem viel über die einzelnen Tiere erzählt. Wir konnten außerdem noch spontan zurück aus dem Dschungel per Raft fahren. Wir würden auf jeden Fall nochmal in diese Unterkunft.

Der Aufstieg zum Hotel führt ca. 20 Minuten durch den Wald über viele Treppen zum Hotel und kann anstrengend sein. Vorteil: Die kalte Dusche ist danach gar kein Problem mehr. Der Mitarbeiter, der uns hochgeführt hat, hat aber immer Pausen angeboten und mit dem Gepäck geholfen, ist also auf jeden Fall machbar.

Non c’è l’acqua calda, ma è normale. Fate attenzione che nel tardo pomeriggio arrivano le scimmie. Non lasciate cibo fuori

Wat een paradijs. Wij verbleven hier 5 dagen en hebben geen seconde spijt gehad. 2 dagen bleven we op het terrein en dat was de beste keus want toen hebben we zoveel dieren gezien. De 3 slaapkamer bungalow staat aan het einde van het terrein waardoor het zo rustig was dat de dieren door onze tuin liepen. Elke dag Thomas leaf monkeys, makaken en wilde zwijntjes in de tuin. 2x een Indische varaan van anderhalve meter en als bonus een orangutang een half uur lang in de lage fruitboom op een paar meter van ons huis. Vlinders zo groot als je hand, de meest bijzondere rupsen en ga zo maar door. Paar minuten lopen richting het nationaal park nog een keer een onrangutang van dichtbij gezien en een gibbon die luid zingend 10 minuten in de boom hing naast het pad vol in het zicht. En dat alles buiten het nationaal park. Het huis is een traditioneel gebouwd indonesisch huis. 3 slaapkamers met opgemaakte volwaardige bedden en klamboes. Het hoofdeinde van de bedden kun je omhoog klappen waardoor je een loungebank krijgt. Een aparte woonkamer met hoge tafel en barkrukken. Westerse moderne badkamer en ook nog een aparte ruimte met hurk wc voor wie dat liever heeft. Overdag is het warm maar de ventilators werken goed en de nacht is lekker fris. De stroom kan weleens uitvallen maar de 2 lampen op de beneden verdieping blijven aan dankzij de aggregaat. Oogkapje is handig want de gordijnen zijn dun. Je bent dag en nacht omringt met de jungle en dieren maar geen last gehad van luide dieren in de nacht. Personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam en je voelt je welkom. We hebben er elke dag gegeten. Keuze uit verschillende indonesische gerechten en snacks, verse sapjes, fruit maar ook toast en pannenkoek of omelet. Dus voor ieder wat wils en lekker. Een waar paradijs voor de echte natuur liefhebber.

Bovenverdieping niet geschikt voor kleine kinderen in verband met een open trapgat maar er zijn nog 2 slaapkamers beneden dus keuze genoeg.

Gutes Restaurant. Ruhige Lage

Location was awesome, right on the edge of the national park. Plenty of different types of monkeys, wild pigs, lizards in the garden. Nice relaxed restaurant with quick service. As other reviews already mentioned there is a bit of walk (10-15min uphill) to get to the place. This is not an issue at all, but if you have more luggage, best to ask the hotel ahead to have porters meet you at the parking. The bonus of being on the edge of park is that when you go for your trekking, you don't have to start down, but you have your breakfast while the other groups are walking up the hill and you basically have a head start.

Lo mejor del alojamiento fue nuestro guía Dian, nos llevamos un amigo de Bukit Lawang. Nos ha hecho la estancia perfecta con su amabilidad y su humor, era divertidísimo. Además no todos hablan inglés y él lo hablaba perfectamente. Hicimos el trekking de 2 días 1 noche en la selva. Dian sabía muchas rutas diferentes y vimos muchísimos orangutanes y otros tipos de monos y animales, sin duda una experiencia increíble. See you soon AMIGO!!

No acceso por carretera , solo un camino con una gran inclinacion , y si tienes que subir maletas y te llueve complicado. Sino es realmente perfecto No presion de agua y no caliente , pero estas en la selva.

Das Personal (Risky, Danny und die lieben Ladies, die gekocht und gewaschen haben) waren total hilfsbereit und sympathisch. Sie haben uns sogar ein Fernglas geliehen. Jeder Wunsch wurde erfüllt und wir haben uns einfach sehr wohl gefühlt. Weil das Essen super lecker (und günstig und veganfreundlich) war und wir die Unterkunft unterstützen wollten, haben wir jeden Abend vor Ort gegessen. Das war erstens immer wie gesagt sehr lecker und zweitens sinnvoll, weil man schon so 10 Minütchen durch den Dschungel läuft. Das ist kein unangenehmer Umstand, sondern eher sehr besonders. Wenn man Glück hat, kann man Thomas Leaf Monkeys in der Rubber Plantage sehen. Von unserem Balkon haben wir einmal Wildschweine gesehen, die durch den Wald gelaufen sind. Das war sehr cool! Außerdem gibt es natürlich Makaken und wir haben verschiedene Vögel gesehen, die man mit dem Fernglas natürlich noch besser beobachten konnte. Insgesamt war es wirklich eine tolle Erfahrung und wir können jedem nur empfehlen, diese Unterkunft zu wählen. Wir haben auch über die Unterkunft die 2D1N Jungle Tour gebucht. Unser Guide, Robin, hat einen tollen Job gemacht und auch alle anderen Beteiligten (Henry der Koch, Danny als 2. Guide und später bei der Village Tour auch Jan der Tuktuk Fahrer) waren super sympathisch. Das Essen im Camp war unfassbar lecker. Hätte Henry ein Restaurant in Bukit Lawang - wir wären wohl Stammgäste gewesen! Schön war auch, dass Robin uns erzählt hat, dass sein Boss (auch der Besitzer von der Unterkunft) selbst Einheimischer und auch aus Bukit Lawang ist. Soweit wir das mitbekommen haben, waren das auch alle anderen, die dort gearbeitet haben. Sogar unser privater Fahrer (hat uns vom Flughafen abgeholt und hingebracht - auch über die Unterkunft buchbar). So finanziert das eigene Geld scheinbar wirklich von Anfang an die Locals und nicht iwelche Expats und Investoren. Wäre auch nicht schlimm, aber wir finden es so besser :) Also wie gesagt: Empfehlung!!

Our stay at Orangutan Bungalow and the jungle trekking experience exceeded all our expectations! Before heading into the jungle, we stayed in one of their rooms, which was great: it matched the photos on Booking perfectly and provided a very comfortable base. The food served at the accommodation was also delicious! The highlight of our trip was the 2-day, 1-night jungle trekking. Our guides, Robin and Dyan, were absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, they treated us like close friends rather than just guests. They were constantly checking on our well-being and making sure we felt safe, comfortable, and happy throughout the entire journey. Thanks to their deep knowledge, we learned so much about the flora and fauna of the jungle. They deliberately chose a alternative route away from the crowded paths, which made our trek feel truly authentic and special. Seeing orangutans in the wild was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will never forget! Spending the night surrounded by the wild nature of the jungle was mind-blowing. On top of that, Robin and Dyan prepared every single meal with so much love and care—the food in the middle of the jungle was surprisingly amazing! To top off the adventure, the tubing ride back to the village was super fun and the perfect ending to our trip. If you are thinking about visiting Bukit Lawang and doing a trekking tour, do not hesitate to book with Orangutan Bungalow and ask for Robin and Dyan. We couldn't have asked for better hosts and guides!

The location is exceptional. Surrounded by the jungle, in a beautiful spot. The houses are very quaint with clearly a lot of history. We only stayed a night but enjoyed it.

Lo que más me gustó fue la amabilidad y la atención de todo el personal, desde la cocinera con sus comidas y sus batidos de fruta natural, hasta la persona que te atendía, Riski y sobre todo los guías Robin e Ívan, muy acogedores. Robin es un guía excepcional, además de simpático y bromista, sabe mucho sobre la selva, pues te va explicando bastantes cosas durante el recorrido. Además de animar al personal nos canta canciones para abreviar el trekkiing. Estos bungalows no tienen ningún lujo, es muy básico, la ducha no tiene agua caliente pero es algo muy común en los hoteles de la zona. Si verdaderamente lo que quieres es ver orangutanes y hacer actividades no dudes en escoger este sitio porque Robin destaca sobre los demás guías de otros hoteles. Nos dimos cuenta el primer día, sabía buscar el sitio adecuado para que los vieras desde lo más cerca posible. Es importante saber que los precios de las excursiones y actividades que se quieran hacer son únicos y oficiales para todos los hoteles de Bukit Lawan. Además las comidas están muy ricas y los guías, en las excursiones que se realizan de más de un día, te preparan fruta y comida durante el recorrido. La fruta está recién cortada y en su punto exacto de madurez, exquisita porque es natural, eso sí es un lujo en medio de la selva.

Wat een fantastische plek aan de rand van de jungle. Het is wel even klimmen naar boven maar je kunt tegen betaling iemand je koffers naar boven laten brengen, zeker aan te raden met deze warmte. Wat een lieve mensen staan daar voor je klaar. Heerlijk eten voor een zeer schappelijke prijs. Ontzettend leuke mountainbike collage tour gedaan met July. Ook de Jungle tour hebben we van genoten met de gidsen Amri en Djon (zal vast niet goed geschreven zijn). Ze lieten ons de beste spots zien om orang utans m, gibbons en hornbills te spotten en te fotograferen. Beide dagen was er ook een heerlijke fruitstop en lunch geregeld. Beide tochten waren geregeld via de accommodatie. Aanrader.

Als ik dan toch iets moet noemen waren de bedden wat aan de harde kant.

Excelente estancia en Bukit Lawan a las puertas del parque nacional. Los bungalows son sencillos ofreciendo todo lo necesario para tener una estancia cómoda y agradable. La comida está riquísima, es super natural y casera preparada con mucho cariño, la cocinera cocina como los ángeles y es una señora muy amorosa. El personal es maravilloso, siempre con una sonrisa, dispuestos a ayudar y a compartir sus conocimientos sobre la selva y el resto de la isla, nos sentimos como en casa. Es cierto que hay una pequeña subida para llegar al lugar lo que te sirve de entrenamiento y preparación para los días de trecking en la jungla y es un lugar privilegiado alejado del ruido del pueblo donde puedes disfrutar del sonido de la naturaleza al 100%. El trecking de 3 días y 2 noches con Robbin y Dany no pudo ser mejor. Disfrutamos muchísimo de su compañía, vimos un montón de animales preciosos y cuidaron muy bien de nosotros. Recomiendo muchísimo alojarse y hacer el tour con los guías que pueden proporcionarte en este alojamiento.

Erg vriendelijk personeel super behulpzaam. De koffers werden gedragen naar de accommodatie. Naast de huisjes in het privéterrein zagen we al de eerste urangutan. Zeker een aanrader om naartoe te gaan. Hele vriendelijke guid bij de trakking en gaf veel informatie over de natuur en dr dieren.

Die Lage ist wunderschön, man ist etwas oberhalb von Bukit Lawang, wo fast schon der Nationalpark beginnt. Man hat also einen tollen Blick auf die Landschaft und kann morgens manchmal Affen beobachten. Alle waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit und das Essen war auch super!

Man läuft natürlich für den tollen Ausblick vom Örtchen aus ein Stück hoch zu seiner Unterkunft - das muss einem bewusst sein

Le personnel, l'emplacement, juste à l'entrée du parc forestier, et isolé du bruit du bourg.. Les bungalows sont biens, je recommande. Également l'organisation des trecks, celui de trois jours deux nuits était éprouvant avec l'humidité ambiante mais très biens avec Wahyu, Gu nawan, et Anto le cuisinier..

An amazing location with amazing staff. Our guides Reno and Danny were fantastic as they took us through the jungle on a trek, Dian was amazing at rafting us home. The staff at the accommodation and kitchen/office were welcoming and amazing throughout. I cannot recommend the accommodation and especially the staff enough.

You have to walk up a hill to get to the property, but you’d have to walk up the hill in any case to enter the national park. The views are also well worth it.

Nothing not to like. So long as you are an outdoor active sort this location is made for you. We extended our stay twice the only thing we didn't like was having to leave. xxx

- Unsere Guides Amri und Dean waren wirklich großartig. Beide waren super freundlich, hilfsbereit und konnten uns unglaublich viel über den Dschungel, die Flora und Fauna erzählen. Man hat gemerkt, dass sie viel Erfahrung und Leidenschaft für ihre Arbeit haben. - Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß mit ihnen und die Atmosphäre war total entspannt. Abends haben wir in der Unterkunft sogar noch gemeinsam Karten gespielt, was die Tour sehr persönlich und besonders gemacht hat. - Die Tour war sehr authentisch. Zwar war das Gelände oft rutschig und bei etwa 30 Grad auch körperlich anstrengend, aber genau das hat das Erlebnis so besonders gemacht. - Das Rafting zurück in die Stadt war richtig schön und ein toller Abschluss der Tour. - Die Unterkünfte während der Tour waren einfach, aber mit Fliegennetz ausgestattet und insgesamt völlig ausreichend. Baden im Fluss direkt bei der Unterkunft war ebenfalls sehr angenehm. - Das Hotel Orangutan Bungalow hat uns ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Wir wurden am Abend noch abgeholt und auch der Transport vom Flughafen wurde organisiert, was alles sehr unkompliziert gemacht hat. - Die Unterkunft dort war wirklich toll – eine große Hütte mit eigenem Badezimmer und eine sehr schöne Anlage insgesamt. - Besonders positiv fanden wir auch, dass es dort vegane Frühstücksoptionen gab, zum Beispiel Früchte sowie ein Porridge mit Wasser und Banane.

- Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt war das Essen während der Tour. Ich hatte bereits zweimal vorher erwähnt, dass wir vegan essen, trotzdem wurde uns einmal zum Mittagessen Hähnchen mit Reis serviert. Wir konnten deshalb nur den Reis essen. - Danach wurde zwar etwas mehr darauf geachtet, allerdings waren manche Dinge weiterhin nicht ganz klar vegan, zum Beispiel Toast (enthält ja oft Milchpulver) beim Frühstück oder Kekse zum Kaffe nachmittag waren auch nicht vegan - Generell wäre es schön, wenn bei veganem Essen noch etwas genauer auf Zutaten wie Milchpulver oder Shrimppaste geachtet werden würde.

Just a heart warming place they have. I really wish we had more time and should have stayed for alleast a week here. Very peaceful place, food is good, rooms are clean and good. We got here very early and in our 2 months of travel not a single hotel gave us early checkin for free. They gave us a welcome drink, warm smile and helped us with lot of questions. Stay here without any fault

Die große Freundlichkeit an der Rezeption, die auch bei allen anderen Fragen hilft (Orang Utan trekking). Viel Ruhe direkt am Rand des Urwaldes. Wenig Mücken! Moskitonetz über dem Doppelbett. Stand-Ventilator im Zimmer. Unterstützung beim Gepäcktragen. 10-15 min. von ECOLODGE zu Fuß vom Tal hinauf. Es ist auch nachts nicht zu heiß! Nach 1Woche Urlaub sehr gerne wieder!

We chose the Orangutan Bungalow to allow us to explore the rain forest and undertake one of the overnight jungle tours. The taxi drops you off at the end of the path and you have to walk (uphill) to the property. Thankfully the staff carry cases for you but in the tropical heat, it is still a bit of a trek! It is worth it when you arrive, the Bungalow and the grounds are beautiful - so peaceful and idyllic. We had booked a three bedroom villa (family of 4 with 2 teens) and it was perfect for us. It is not modern, but it is clean and in keeping with the rainforest theme. One of the bedrooms is up a small flight of stairs but offers panoramic views of the rainforest. We were visited by a family of Thomas Leaf Monkeys who, at one point, were peering through the window into the bathroom! The bungalow offers a limited but tasty menu with a nice range of drinks. It was so peaceful and calm here - very different to staying in Medan! Sadly my trip didn't last very long as I was rushed to hospital with kidney stones before staying a night! The staff were fantastic for us - two of them drove myself and my wife 3 hours back to Medan and one of them stayed with us until they knew we were being looked after. As my wife stayed with me (to sort the insurance nightmare), it meant our two teens were left back at the property but the staff there looked after them, making sure they were fed, watered and regularly checked in on - we cannot fault their help, warmth and hospitality. When my family's stay was over, the driver/guide even came into the hospital to see if I was ok! I cannot comment anymore, but my family tell me the jungle trip was good fun (if not a little tough) and the guides were brilliant, really looking after them. If you are looking for a stay away from it all and back to nature, we can really recommend this property.

This wasn't an issue for us, but other travellers might find the 20 minute uphill walk to the property challenging.

The location was unique and as close to paradise as I’ve ever been. The staff were simply amazing nothing was too much trouble from meeting us at the car park in the middle of a thunderstorm with umbrellas and men to help us carry the bags as it was a bit of a climb in the pouring rain. To showing us the local wildlife and suppling a menu to die for everything was so tasty and made fresh by the lovely ladies in the kitchen. I have had the most amazing life experience and if I spent all day praising this brilliant set of people it still wouldn’t do the justice all I can say is try it for yourselves you won’t be disappointed ❤️

You need to book your stay now, you will definitely not regret it! Me and my partner have been lucky enough to stay in over 30 different accommodations in the last 3 months over 5 different countries in Asia, and by far Orangutan bungalow has treated us with the best service, experience, friendliness and the most amazing food! Extra shout out to Amri and Dion for our 2 day 1 night trek into the jungle which was incredibly hard but amazing! (Get ready to be fed like a king, but sweat from places you didn’t know existed, we also think this is catered to your fitness level as we seen people of all ages, shapes and sizes doing different hikes) And also a huge shout out to risky and the amazing ladies that do all the cooking! The whole stay is extremely smooth, from them helping you organise transportation getting to them (which is an experience in itself it’s 4-5 hours in a car from Medan airport, and then a 15 minute trek through the jungle) someone then meets you and helps you up, don’t worry they also have a fridge where you can buy cold beer, coke, water and sprite, which is a completely reasonable price. You may also be lucky enough to see Thomas Leaf monkeys from your balcony which woke us up on our last morning, which was amazing!

This is not necessarily their fault as you know what you are booking however I get extremely hot and there is no air con however you do get a fan in the room.

De bungalows liggen bij de ingang van het nationale park. Vanaf het parkeerterrein is het een minuut of 10 omhoog lopen. Heel fijn dat 2 jongens onze bagage wilden dragen. Mooie tuin waar je de aapjes vanaf je balkon kunt zien. Personeel heeft de jungle trekking en vervoer geregeld voor ons. Betalen kan gewoon met creditkaart.

Een comfortabel bankje of stoel was wel fijn geweest in plaats van de houten banken

I can not put in words how much I liked my stay at OrangUtan Bungalow. The accomodation is beautiful and outside of the village right by the entrance to the National Park. Rizki, Robin and Danny were the best hosts and guides. I will definitely come back !

Only cold shower available. Great food. Staff was absolutely the best. Happy, professional and good at their jobs. Went above all to make our stay enjoyable. Risqué, Robin, Dion,Danny and the kitchen staff were fantastic. Arrangement for airport transfer and booking tours helped make our trip very very comfortable.

Cold shower. Plug in is very far from the bed. Just to note, there are 463 stairs to get to the hotel. We are good with that because it was close to the park entrance but others might not be happy

The food is good but its a short menu. A smart tv at the room could be a life saver if you're alone in the rainy season. Limited area for a walk into the forest. It would be great if you can walk a little bit longer before the guards tell you to turn back. But thats not anything that rely on the hotels.

Suber schöne Lage und extrem nettes Personal. Optimale Ausgangslage wenn man auf Dschungel Trekking geht.

100 meters from the entrance to the National Park. Staff happy to arrange (required by the government) guides and trekking. Meals cooked on request. Lot of wildlife visible from the balcony. Basic facilities - nothing fancy, but pretty funky individual bungalows will plenty of mosquito netting.

Long, steep climb up from the main village, although getting away from (most) of it all is part of the experience. Good meals, but pricier than the village restaurants.

Location is great. It is a bit of a challenging walk uphill for around 15-25 minutes depending on your speed, but the location is well worth the effort when you get there. It is the last set of accommodation before you enter the jungle.

The place was v v dirty. They had not debugged the place at all. There were loads of dead bugs on the mosquito nets. There were colonies of ants scavenging and eating dead creatures on the floor so clearly bugs/creatures had been dead for a long time. The rooms definitely had not been cleaned or swept prior to our arrival. We even asked the staff to de-bug our room and the gentleman did try his best to do a quick job which reduced the number of dead bugs visible but it was not sufficient cleaning. It's the jungle - I wasn't expecting it to be bug free but to have ants eating other dead bugs and for there to be bugs everywhere when we arrived was not nice. Even though we had paid for 3 nights on booking.com prior to our arrival, we ended up taking the 2 nights charge on the chin and we actually left after the first night to stay in a different accommodation in bukit lawang near the river. This place was clean and tidy with no dead bugs and clean mosquito nets!

Das Personal dort war extrem freundlich, dabei hatten wir vorrangig mit Rizky, dem Rezeptionist, Kontakt. Preis/Leistung absolut spitze. Das Essen war sehr lecker! Die Lage war herausragend. Man muss zwar 15 Minuten wandern und über eine Hängebrücke laufen, aber dann kommt man in einem kleinen Paradies an. Am Rand vom Dschungel, völlige Ruhe, schöne Aussicht und schöne Anlage. Absolut empfehlenswert! Dort haben wir die 2-Tagestour durch den Dschungel gebucht. Robin und Dijan waren dabei unsere Top-Guides. Sehr freundlich, Lustig und wir hatten eine super Zeit. Die Tour ist herausfordernd und anstrengend, aber es hat sich total gelohnt. Wir haben mehrere Orangutan s, Siamangs, Thomas Leaf Monkey und viele weitere Affen gesehen, darunter auch Babyaffen 😍 Während der Dschungeltour hervorragend versorgt - wirklich. Sowohl Frühstück, Mittagessen als auch Abendessen waren sehr lecker und ausgewogen. Zusätzlich gab es zwischendurch Snacks in Form von Fruchtplatten mit Ananas, Drachenfrucht, Orange, Snakefruit, Banane, Melone etc. So viel konnten wir fast nicht essen. Die Anlage sowie der Tour sind absolute Empfehlungen. Man ist dort in einer eigenen kleinen Welt. Wir waren absolut begeistert!

Bei der Toilette im Bad im Bungalow, waren die Klobrillen stark abgenutzt, so dass sie sehr dreckig aussehen. Auch wenn sie eigentlich sauber sind. Bei der Übernachtung im Dschungel hat man, sobald das eigene Wasser ausgegangen ist, abgekochtes bekommen. Gemäß den Umständen schmeckt es auch nach dem Rauch vom Feuer auf dem es gekocht wurde. Unsere Empfehlung hier, nehmt Brausetabletten mit (z.B. Magnesium) dann schmeckt das auch okay.

Incredible place, right on the edge of the jungle - monkeys in tree outside the window if you like that. A decent hike (~15-20 mins, many steps) to get there but very worth it for that level of isolation and comfort Comfy beds, cheap and tasty kitchen, very helpful staff

The location is utterly amazing. Bungalow was clean and cosy. Staff are wonderful. Riski thanks for your kindness. I did a jungle trek with Dino and Farrell which was utterly fab. One of the best treks I’ve done. Guides were knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The food on the trek was amazing too. Thanks all.

Fui con una amiga y nuestra estancia en Orangutan Bungalow fue simplemente inmejorable. Desde el primer momento el personal nos hizo sentir como en casa, con una atención cercana y amable, como si fuéramos parte de su familia. Las cabañas son muy bonitas, limpias y cómodas, con mosquitera incluida. Aunque solo pasamos una noche antes del trekking, descansamos de maravilla. El alojamiento está situado justo al lado de la entrada al parque, lo cual es muy práctico (desde Bukit Lawang son unos 10–15 minutos de subida, que luego te ahorras el día de la excursión). Contratamos con ellos el trekking de 2 días y 1 noche en la selva, y fue una de las mejores experiencias de nuestras vidas. A pesar de que llegamos bastante tarde (sobre las 9:30 de la noche), nuestro guía Rubén nos estaba esperando para acompañarnos hasta el alojamiento, explicarnos los detalles de la excursión y, además, nos prepararon una deliciosa cena aunque era muy tarde ya que no habíamos comido. Un detalle que agradecimos muchísimo. Durante la caminata vimos todo tipo de animales, y en todo momento nos sorprendieron con abundante comida y fruta fresca, riquísima y presentada con mucho cariño. Rubén fue un guía excepcional: divertido, atento y siempre pendiente de hacernos reír y de que disfrutáramos al máximo. El mejor guía del mundo! Añadir que también nos guardaron las mochilas durante el trekking y, al terminar, nos las acercaron directamente al punto donde llegas en rafting por el río de vuelta a Bukit Lawang. La organización fue perfecta de principio a fin. De corazón, muchísimas gracias por todo. Ha sido una experiencia inolvidable y sin duda volveríamos a repetir. Cristina y Mar.

El personal és molt amable i en tot moment van ser atents. El restaurant oferia plats típics amb bona relació qualitat preu. Molt prop de l'entrada a la selva. Ens van organitzar la visita a la selva a petició nostra. Vam tindre a Robin com a guia i va ser excepcional.

Geweldige ervaring! Super leuke bungalow boven aan de jungle. In de ochtend lekker wakker worden met aapjes op het balkon. Personeel is super vriendelijk en helpen je overal mee! Boek vooral de jungle tour bij deze accommodatie! De tourgide is geweldig en weet je alles te vertellen over de Orang utangs. Wij hebben er 5 mogen zien.

Grote klim omhoog hou hier rekening mee. Voor ons was dit prima je krijgt er veel moois voor terug!
