The apartement is located directly on a salt lake with a beautiful big garden. We spent a lot of time on the huge balcony just watching nature and animals like monkeys, monitor lizzards, peacocks other birds, palm squirrels, mongooses etc. Mosquitos weren't bad at all and for nature lovers this place is a must.We also got a free new years breakfast in the restaurant "turtle vibes" they have.

Die Lage im Grünen, der Garten mit Blick aufs Wasser, großes Zimmer, großes Bett, Personal sehr hilfsbereit und versucht, uns trotz Problemen alles zu ermöglichen. Sie ließen uns zweimal das Zimmer wechseln und haben uns Saft gebracht.

Aufgrund von Komplikationen waren wir in beiden Zimmern und sind hin - und hergezogen. Das Bad im unteren Zimmer hatte leider am Anfang kein warmes Wasser, da sich die Armatur nicht drehen ließ und der Boiler keinen Wasserzulauf hatte. Später ist der Duschkopf abgebrochen aufgrund von Alter und Rost. Generell sind die Bäder in beiden Zimmern dringend überholungsbedürftig. Die Badezimmertür ließ sich nicht richtig schließen im unteren Zimmer. Die Tür im unteren Zimmer schließt nicht mit dem Boden ab, sodass Tiere reinkommen können. Viele Ameisen. Wenn man die Klimaanlage einschaltet, ging das Licht aus. Im oberen Zimmer lässt sich im Bad das Fenster nicht schließen. Deswegen hatten wir nach zwei Nächten zwei Kakerlaken im Zimmer. Das WLAN funktionierte nur sehr sporadisch und der Empfang mit mobilen Daten war schwierig.

Bardzo przyjemne i spokojne miejsce, idealne na wypoczynek. Obiekt położony blisko plaży — wieczorami można wybrać się na spacer i wypatrywać żółwi, które wychodzą z oceanu, co było niesamowitym doświadczeniem. Wieczorem słychać zarówno szum morza, jak i odgłosy zwierząt, co tworzy wyjątkowy klimat i pozwala naprawdę się wyciszyć. Okolica jest cicha i bezpieczna. Właścicielka jest niezwykle życzliwa, zawsze uśmiechnięta i bardzo gościnna. Świetnie gotuje — zaprosiła nas na świąteczną kolację, co było bardzo miłym i wzruszającym gestem. Posto unico e bellissimo! Camera molto spaziosa e molto pulita. Posizione perfetta per la spiaggia! Hanno anche ristorante Turtle vibe che ti dà la possibilità di cenare e fare colazione anche direttamente in camera con prezzi ottimi e soprattutto cibo ottimo!

We didn’t like the smell of air fresheners in the room, but maybe that is a personal preference…

Super friendly and helpful staff (hotel and restaurant). Delicious food! The garden is just amazing! Super peaceful. Bed is comfy and the shower has hot water. Very clean. Would definitely come again and can totally recommend.

Rock Violet, and it’s a real oasis of peace! The garden by the river is beautiful, with lush greenery and roaming peacocks, and it's just a short walk to the beach. The Taste of Ceylon restaurant serves amazing, authentic food, and the staff is super friendly. It's also a great spot for families to relax and have fun. Highly recommend!

This was one of the best places we had! If you are looking for a quiet place, far away from noisy beaches, this is the region to stay. There are many small cabanas around, all beautifully hidden behind bushes and trees. We booked the upper room and just sat on the veranda and watched the birds and the peacocks and the many water birds in the lagoon. The house is surrounded by a lovely garden. The room is spacious, same as the bathroom with warm water shower. Everything is spotless clean. It is true what people wrote, that communication in English is a bit difficult, but this was no problem for us, this is the case in many other countries worldwide and makes travelling so interesting. The beach is just a few minutes away, not for swimming, but for long and lonely walks. The nearest food shop is 15 min. to walk, or a short TukTuk ride. There are many small and good restaurants nearby. The place is highly recommended for people who are looking for a quiet place.

It is a beautiful location by the mangrove swamps and the garden was full of birds. We loved being able to walk to the beach to watch the turtles. The food in the restaurant was excellent and beautifully presented.

The manager had quite limited Englush which made communication difficult.

A superb accommodation in a laid back area soo chilled, full of huge spacious and lush gardens around. It’s a perfect getaway. We stayed in the upper room which was clean, had good AC and was also very spacious along with the terrace where we watched the sunset while peacocks were wandering around down below in the garden. The beach is just 10 minutes away and you can find nice little local restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

I'd love my stay! The owner was an excellent host, she made sure everything was ok and was available to help despite it being local holidays which I greatly appreciated. She even welcomed me with homemade sweets. The location is a bit outside of the main city which makes it tranquil and relaxing. You can sit on a balcony and listen to birds and other animals as well as the waves crashing. The guesthouse is only few minutes walk to the beach. The room was clean, spacious, and everything was in working order.

Beautiful place, surrounded by nature with a view on the lagoon, peacocks running around and an amazing beach a 10 min walk away. The a/c was working well. Everything was very clean. The owner was very friendly and prepared the best food I had in Sri Lanka.

We stayed at this place With my boyfriend during our Srí Lanka trip, and it was simply perfect. Room was so clean, it had everything we needed, the place was peaceful and had a beautiful garden With a lake. Very nice location, easy to get to the beach. Owner is a very nice lady who also does everything, including cooking the food, and she is a very good cook. All in all, excellent value for money.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We had a great stay at this accommodation. The cabanas are located on a beautiful property with a big garden and a nice view of the lagoon. We were able to observe a lots of birds while sitting on the balcony. The room is big, with quiet AC, fan and a big bed. The balcony is just amazing. Besides this the host offered us regularly free benefits like laundry service (which was really good and quick), some fruits, juice or tea. As we arrived there was a technical problem with the WiFi. As the provider didn't show much effort to fix it, Our host just went to the city, changed the provider and set up a brand new router for us within a day. WiFi was running fast and stable afterwards. Thank you for taking care of that. If you go there don't worry about food at all. The host runs a restaurant within a few meters next door. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious and every day she surprised us with little things like a dessert, extra side dish or something else. We can definitely recommend a stay here. One of the best stay in sri lanka for me! The owner was so kind:). Even made me great jam! Love it. She is really good chef, i definitely recommend some of her food. Apartment is in quiet location, perfect for relax! Room has enough spaces, for elecricity you will need converter if you have EU adapters.

It was the nicest and cleanest place from all where we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka! The room was big, with a large bed, AC and hot water. We had a nice terrace with garden view and we could also hear the waves, the beach is at 7 minutes walk. We could serve breakfast and dinner (but for extra charge) and the food was tasty!

The only minus is that the nearest beach is not accesible for swimming due to the big waves and the property is quite far from a bus station (at about half an hour walk).

Wow! This was really the best place where we stayed in Sri Lanka. The room is very spacious and clean. There is also a big balcony on which you can overlook the extremely beautiful garden. There are many animals to see and you hear the waves of the ocean. At the beach nearby you can watch the turtles at night laying their eggs. The hostlady, Yashoda, always made sure, that we had everything we needed. She also cooks very good. Breakfast was extensive and also the coffe was really good. The dinner was also perfect and everyday different. We had the luck to stay over singhalese new year and she cooked a traditional dinner for us. That was a great experience. We can totally recommend coming here!

I liked everything in this place. I think I have experienced the Sri-Lankan hospitality at its best. Located in a rural setting, between the two most beautiful beaches in Tangal, this tranquil family run guest house is utterly and completely surreal. Immerse in nature, in this place, you feel transported in another world: "a magic world". The bedroom, as well as the bathroom, are very spacious and clean. The large balcony, overlooking the beautiful garden and the lagoon, is well shadowed and ventilated. The staff(the young landlady and her little boy) are very attentive, professional and, more importantly, sweet. The meals (breakfast and dinner) are abundant, tasty and beautifully presented. The fauna surrounding the house is alive and kicking. The sound of the crushing waves, in the background, reminds you that the sea is "right there" and it is waiting for you.. so catch the beach towel and make an effort to leave the balcony 😄

We loved our stay at Rock Violet Cabanas. The host is very accommodating and helpful. She cooks very good food, too so make sure to have dinner at least once! The garden is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. So many beautiful flowers and you see peacocks every day, it's magical... You're a 5min walk away from the beach which is super calm (hardly anybody there). You can rent a scooter from the host to go to Tangalle town and other places. The room was very clean when we arrived and the terrace is so nice!

A squeegee in the bathroom would be very helpful to remove the water and keep the bathroom clean. WiFi was also not good (especially in the evening), which made it difficult for us to work.

The place and host are great! One of the cleanest places in Sri Lanka we've been to, with nice and huge garden, in a cottage sourranded by plants, birds and in a walking distance to the beach. It's good to have a bike there to go to the city, but if you want just to stay in the area and relax, you'll get everything you need - the owner makes very nice food and she helped us with everything we needed (and even more). We felt very welcome here and deffinitely come back if we'll have a chance.

Beautiful Rock Violet . We were blown away by hospitality on arrival - drinks and snacks sat outside enjoying the garden well presented gardens. The food is amazing. This host goes above and beyond to prepare not only incredible tasting food but presentation was beautiful. Host was so friendly and at hand if we needed anything. Outside the cabanas downstairs you are welcomed by the lovely mural and then leading into the spacious bedroom area. The property was so clean and smelt nice, lovely big bed, AC and spacious bathroom. The WiFi worked well and a walk away from shop and beach . We would have wished to stay longer and highly recommend to others... you will not be disappointed with value . Thanks again
