La Luna Cabins

It was so great to stay there with these hosts. They were so welcoming and helpful in helping me get to know the area. The stay is next to the tea plantations, within walking distance from the factory where you can get a tour, and close to the town. It was very clean and comfy. Definitely recommend getting this experience!

Het personeel, Kushan en zijn moeder waren echt super hulpzaam en enthousiast. Hele leuke gesprekken gehad en Kushan denkt graag mee met wat je kan doen en hoe we dingen aan konden pakken zoals bijvoorbeeld de treinreis. Het plekje was niet het luxe wat we gewend zijn maar, knus en erg gezellig en mooi. In de ochtend een heerlijk ontbijtje gehad wat met liefde was bereid.

Alloggio gestito da un ragazzo di una gentilezza incredibile. Il posto è fuori dal centro città, se si vuole dormire senza il frastuono è perfetto, in ogni caso in pochi minuti di tuk tuk si arriva in centro. La vista è sulla piantagione di tè. Camera pulitissima e accogliente, non c'è ovviamente riscaldamento perciò necessaria coperta servita da loro (pulitissima). La colazione è a pagamento (2€) servita praticamente nel salotto della loro casa. Posto assolutamente da provare!

The stay was too good . The people there ( kushan and his mom ) are really warm , kind and welcoming . A very good option to stay at nuwara eliya . We were there on a special occassion and they made it even more better with their hospitality .

Ontzettend lieve mensen die erg behulpzaam en meedenkend waren. Het was een schattig klein huisje op een rustige plek.

De badkamer was erg oncomfortabel en de wifi was helaas niet stabiel. Het bed was erg smal en in de nacht waren we vaak het kussen kwijt, omdat het bed van de muur af staat en er geen hoofdboard was.

Kushan ist ein sehr sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Seine Mama hat uns immer mit Kaffee versorgt und Frühstück zubereitet. Er hat uns zahlreiche Tipps für Ausflugsmöglichkeiten und Restaurantempfehlungen gegeben. Und uns beim Organisieren der Weiterreise geholfen. Die Unterkunft ist super süß, sauber, man fühlt sich wohl und man hat alles was man braucht ( außer Handtücher, was aber kein Problem sein sollte). Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit dort. :)

I didn't stay but its very helpful

Der Gastgeber ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns gute Tipps zu Ausflügen und Restaurants gegeben. Das Frühstück dort in der Unterkunft war sehr gut und frisch für uns zubereitet, man konnte sich selber aussuchen was man gerne hätte. Da der Zug aktuell nicht nach Kandy fährt hat uns der Gastgeber sogar 3h bis zu unserer Unterkunft gefahren für einen wirklich fairen Preis!

Het was een klein maar knus huisje.met daarnaast een leuke boomhut waar je kon zitten.ook kreeg je daar je ombijt dat was heerlijk gemaakt. Ook de gastheer was super vriendelijk. Hij vertelden hoe we moesten lopen naar de waterval en waar we in de avond lekker konden eten. We vertelde dat we met de trein naar ella gingen,hij vroeg of we die als hadden geboekt. Toen hij hoorde wat we hadden betaald...Zei hij doe maar annuleren ik regel het voor jullie. Dat heeft hij gedaan hij heeft ons weg gebracht en de kaartjes geregeld. Wow super bedankt kushan.

Het bed was niet heel breed.en de douche was niet heel warm.

No wifi. They have a mobile hotspot as wifi. Booking.com Picture only shows top room. But in most cases you will end up getting the underground room. Room is not bad but zero view.

The host was amazing in helping us plan our time and giving good advice on how to do things

Cute scenery nearby a tea plantation with a nice sunset view. Cleanliness and owner's dedication to their guests, friendliness and breakfast is nice. A good place for one night to experience sleeping in a cute tent but unfortunately not as comfortable as a hotel.

No shower towels offered and a bit cold. The restaurant nearby was closed so you need transport to main town. You can also hear the guests from downstairs talking.

La camera era confortevole e pulita, il ragazzo che ci ha accolto era molto gentile e accogliente. Abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte e purtroppo il mio compagno di viaggio è stato male, il proprietario ci ha fatto rimanere qualche ora in più dopo il check out perchè ha capito la situazione. La cena e la colazione erano ottime. Molto particolare la forma della casa con il tetto spiovente, la nostra stanza era al piano di sotto comunque carina rispetto a quella un po' più particolare del sotto tetto. La posizione è fuori dal centro del paese, questo è un bene se si vuole respirare aria pulita, però dovete prendere un tuk tuk per muovervi, noi qui abbiamo usato l'app pickme ed ha funzionato bene.

Nous avons très bien été accueillis, l'hôte est très gentil serviable et de bons conseils pour les randos , les restaurants , le tuktuk , il parle et comprend très bien l'anglais ! La cabane et le petit déjeuner ont une superbe vue ! L'eau de douche est chaude .

Il faisait très froid dans la montagne mais nous avons eu une couverture supplémentaire :) Malheureusement pas de prises européennes avec adaptateur mis a disposition ni de serviettes ( en supplément) par rapport aux chambres qu'on a eu précédemment

Sehr nette Gastgeber und schöne Lage/Aussicht. Das Bett ist ganz ok. Unbedingt eigene Duschtücher und Duschgel mitbringen, die sind nicht inbegriffen. Die Nächte im März kalt, aber es hat eine warme Wolldecke. Frühstück ist reichhaltig und lecker.

Für den Preis gibt's nicht viel auszusetzen. Einzig die Dusche hat nicht gerade viel Wasserdruck, besonders wenn man das warme Wasser anmacht.

We had the most fantastic time at La Luna Cabins, the hosts were so lovely and attentive. We decided to have a Sri Lankan breakfast with the host and it was the best the best way to start the day. He carried it all the way into the treehouse to we could enjoy the view of Nuwara Eliya. We were served tea on arrival too. He also helped arrange transport from Abewella station. 1000000 STARS FOR THIS EXPERIENCE.

Přijeli jsme, když 3 dny pršelo a bylo chladno. Paní byla úžasná a přinesla nám na noc vaky s horkou vodou do postele na zahřátí. Kousek od ubytování je malá restaurace s nejlepší Kottu, co jsme zde měli.

La struttura è bellissima peccato la pioggia e la sveglia troppo presto non ci ha permesso di godere dello splendido panorama. La cena preparata dall' host buonissima

Purtroppo fuori pioveva ed era molto freddo e nonostante le coperte di lana servirebbe un po' di riscaldamento in più .Da migliorare le prese del bagno non molto compatibili con i nostri adattatori

Eigenaar Kushan is echt fantastisch, samen met zijn moeder zorgen zij voor een erg fijn verblijf, lekker ontbijt (ook to go) en veel tips en hulp om te doen in de regio. Ook fijn en snel contact via WhatsApp. De cabin is schattig en is prachtig gelegen aan de theevelden en met een Tuk tuk (pick me) sta je met 10 minuutjes in het centrum.

In het echt oogt het iets eenvoudiger dan op de foto’s op Booking en het huis is wat gehorig, maar dat heeft onze ervaring niet echt in de weg gestaan.

Kushan is een voortreffelijke eigenaar, hij denkt heel fijn met je mee en is goed op de hoogte van de omgeving. Heel knap hoe hij de accommodatie heeft gebouwd, de details zouden we zelf wat anders doen. Het was een bijzondere, unieke ervaring!

Een klein bed, geen Wifi

Cosy and rustic little cabin just outside of Nuwara Eliya and very close to lovers leap waterfall. Very quiet and peaceful area with amazing views. Kushan and his mother were amazing hosts - so helpful and kind (they even made us a takeaway breakfast for our hike to Hortons plains and got up at 5am to give it to us)

We enjoyed our stay overall but a few details made it less than perfect. It was very windy when we stayed and the cabin's corrugated iron wall / roof makes a lot of noise in the wind. Also there was no curtain on the door window which let a lot of light from the street light in. Both of these things meant we had a less than ideal nights sleep. The water heater didnt heat the water of the shower very well. The Booking listing says that the place has WiFi, but that wasn't the case (we had data though, so not a big issue)

Kushan was always taking care of my stay. He creates very good excursions and I felt very well in the place. Everything was so clean and the food was so delicious.

Amazing place to stay, the hosts were lovely. They gave us recommendations on hikes, places to eat, sightseeing etc which were all good value for money. I would highly recommend staying here, thank you!

Le personnel était très accueillant et agréable, nous avons suivi leur recommandations et c’était parfait ! Le logement est très atypique, la vue de la mezzanine est très sympa. Le petit déjeuner très bon également, le gérant avait prévu de venir nous récupérer à la gare via un ami, tout s’est bien déroulé

L’emplacement est assez excentré du centre de Nuwara Eliya, le logement n’est pas bien isolé, le vent frappe fort (cependant cela ne nous a pas empêché de dormir)

Hele vriendelijke eigenaar met zijn moeder. Leuk huisje. Diner was een heerlijk verzorgde Sri lankaanse diner! Ontbijt met Sri lankaanse hapjes, maar ook lekker brood met jam en een eitje. Vergeet geen trui, sokken om mee te nemen. Omgeving iets kouder dan elders in Sri Lanka

Personal molt amable i atent, ens han ajudat a preparar excursions i reservar desplaçaments. Ens han preparat un esmorzar molt complet i bo. Tot era molt net, bona relació qualitat-preu.

Ens ha agradat tot. Queda una mica lluny del centre però molt a prop per fer alguna ruta per les plantacions de tè.

És un lloc peculiar. És molt petit, sobretot el lavabo, i a la nit fa molt fred. S’agrairia un calefactor, tot i que la manta, un cop al llit, escalfa molt. L’esmorzar era boníssim!

El fred que feia, sobretot a la dutxa. S’escoltaven totes les converses de la parella que estava a la planta de dalt. Necessites el tuk tuk per anar al centre. Com a tots els hotels de Sri Lanka, entra molta llum a l’habitació perquè no utilitzen cortines opaques.

Mooie ligging tussen de theevelden. Je kan van hieruit direct starten voor een korte wandeling richting de Lover’s Leap waterval. De eigenaar Kushan is heel vriendelijk en helpt je met vervoer richting station. Het is een Cabin, dus verwacht geen grote luxe maar de bedden liggen goed en onze zoon vond het bed op het zolderkamertje heel leuk. We kregen van de moeder van Kushan een handig take away ontbijt mee voor op de ochtendtrein. Met een gezin van 4 reserveer je best de hele cabin voor wat ruimte te hebben. Aanrader!

De cabin was erg schoon. Ook de gastheer was erg vriendelijk en hielp met alles wat nodig was! Het ontbijt was lekker.

Het was ‘s avonds erg koud in de cabin. Ook was alles erg vochtig geworden. Het water van de douche kregen we ook niet goed geregeld, waardoor we ook niet echt warm konden douchen.

Cabana muy mona, experiencia de estancia distinta. El personal es extremadamente amable y te explica cosas de la ciudad y recomienda sitios.

Recomiendo que según la época, pedir una manta extra!

La ubicación con vistas a las plantaciones de té , y sobretodo la atención de Kusha y de su madre , nos prepararon el almuerzo y la cena y nos gustó mucho , sencillo pero correcto, siempre atentos y serviciales, dando consejos y ayudando en las cosas que ver en Nuwara Elilla.

Nice quiet location with unique property style. Our hosts made us a lovely dinner and breakfast would highly recommend eating here!

Kushan the owner is lovely and has lots of great tips and a wealth of knowledge for things to see in the area. The cabin was very cute and overlooks a tea plantation.

The host was a very very lovely human being. Accomodating and very helpful with local suggestions. On point with food tips. Anything we asked he would do!! He gave us tea when we got there and provided more blankets and offered us jerseys! There is a really cute treehouse outside bit that we didn’t realise we had!! The place was very artisanal and full of surprises!! Breakfast was not included but only 700 rupees person but worth every penny as the food was local, homemade and extensive!!! He was able to organise transport from the train for 5 of us and very very reasonable price. Did not try and sell us a tour The place looks out of the way on paper but the busses are really easily accessible and cheap to anywhere! Walking distance from lovers leap

The insulation was a bit too little and it was a bit chilly. He did offer blankets to accommodate!!! Still worth the stay, just bring a jumper! Very cozy and unique stay otherwise!

Really lovely cabin, situated amongst the hills and 10 mins ride into the main town. Warm shower was great, and a very helpful host.

Nuwara Eliya does get cold at night and experiences a lot of rain, a heater would be very helpful for guests but big blankets are provided which work well too.

La Luna Cabins was a very cute and pleasant stay. The hosts were very sweet, kind, and helpful. The surrounding village was lovely to walk around and explore with a nice waterfall nearby... and Lovely views when you wake up. We just stayed one night.

The location is quite far from the city center, but we knew this when we booked. We just booked it because it was cute and we like walking, so we didn't mind. Plus, the host can arrange a tuk-tuk if you need it. The cabin was cold (even though we were there in March), so bring warm clothes... Hopefully, the hosts have a heater to use, but I'm not sure. The toilet was a bit loose when we were there, and the upstairs loft room made quite a bit of noise when moving and there is a bit of a draft/wind coming through the unsealed window. Other than these small things that can easily be fixed... it was a cute and lovely stay with lovely views.

It is a super quiet and lovely place, a walking distance to lovers leap waterfall and pedro tea factory, the owner was super helpful and helped us with many things such as tuk tuk, traveling plans, laundry.. great location, calming place, Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and very generous too. ,

Peacful, realaxing and very calming place. The location is in front of a tea garden, 500m from pedro tea factory and 1km from loversleap waterfall.The host kushan and his mom was really friendly and helpful. Arranged everything we needed , tuktuk, traveling plans, medicine.. If you want hiking they arranged it.. will definitely recommend if you are looking for a stay in Nuwaraeliya

In combinatie met de hoge luchtvochtigheid wordt dit nauwelijks droog. - De lekkage aan de vloer. Hierdoor bleef het huis voortdurend nat. - De moskee zat vlakbij dat 's ochtends vroeg begon met het ochtendgebed. Dit maakte ons een aantal keer wakker. - De deurpost van 1.70

The owner Kushan with his mum was very friendly and always replied fast on WhatsApp, when we arrived we were served tea.

We had informed the day before that we should arrive around 2 pm, check in was from 11. But when we arrived the room wasn’t finished, we were served tea but still had to wait 25-30 min (we were all freezing after the 3h drive in rain). The cabin was cold, but it was okey during the night thanks to heavy blankets. There were no mosquito net, so the mosquitos held us awake until 4 am… People were living in the room below and you could hear them loud and clear. The cabin is made of metal. The location is probably not the best, but this was more a stop on a long drive so for us it was okey.

Such a warm welcome from the owner and his mother, who made sure everything was perfect for us. The owner was very thoughtful and arranged an excellent local tour guide at our request, which allowed us to see all the best spots in a short amount of time. And the breakfast? Absolutely amazing — both the food and the beautiful breakfast location. A definite must-visit!

Super vriendelijke host. Kamer die wij hadden stond niet op de foto’s. Het is een donkere sfeerloze kamer. Koude vochtige nacht gehad. Door deze situatie zijn nacht eerder vertrokken. Sympathiek en sportief opgevangen voor de host. Geadviseerd foto’s van de beneden kamer te posten voor verwachting van gasten.

La Luna Cabins was such a cozy little spot — it was a bit smaller than expected, but that didn’t bother us at all. The hosts were incredibly sweet and helpful, and the location was great for getting around. Overall, it had a lovely, homely vibe that made our stay really comfortable.

El tracte dels propietaris va ser molt bo. Ens can fer un sopar i esmorzar molt bons. Està ubicat en mig de plantacions de te, lo qual el fa un lloc bastant idílic.

Va fer molt de fred a la nit i amb la manta que ens van deixar va ser insuficient. L’habitació era molt petita per a nosaltres 3 i les maletes. El sostre es de xapa i tota l’estona feia soroll que va dificultar dormir bé. Hi havia molta llum al carrer que no es podia tapar amb cortines.

Amazing cabin. Bed upstairs wasn’t the comfiest but the view was stunning! We had a lovely stay. The breakfast was amazing. Would definitely book it again!

Sauberes gemütliches Zimmer. Das Frühstück war gut uns sehr preiswert. Der Gastgeber war zudem sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Wir hatten das untere Zimmer gebucht und waren alles in allem sehr begeistert. Der Blick ist super schön, man ist von sehr viel Natur umgeben. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt! Die Besitzer sind super freundlich, sehr zuvorkommend und konnten uns Tipps für Wanderungen etc. geben. Das Frühstück und Abendessen war ebenfalls sehr gut und ist zu empfehlen.

Das Zimmer ist etwas hellhörig, dadurch hört man die anderen Gäste und auch das Geschehen von draußen. In der Nacht kann es zudem kalt werden, dafür gab es aber eine dicke Decke die absolut ausgereicht hat.

Fijne locatie, vlak bij de oudste theefabriek van Sri Lanka. Ontzettend vriendelijk ontvangst met veel goede tips

Wir hatten das Zimmer unten. Der Besitzer und das Häuschen sind sehr nett.

Es war extrem kalt, keine Handtücher.

We loved everything of our staying at La Luna Cabins! Kushan and his mum are just the best hosts ever, she made for us one of the best breakfast we had in the country and Kushan is so welcoming and caring about his guests. He helped us in everything we needed: to find the right tea factory to visit, to find a driver for our car so that we could enjoy the train experience, to recommend us a nice place for dinner. We still don’t know how to thank him properly. Beside that the apartment is just stunning surrounded by green, every details are cured, everything is so clean… we are just so sad we couldn’t stay more than one night but if one day we’ll come back in Nuwaraeliya we are sure we’ll stay at La Luna Cabins.

Leuk huisje in mooie omgeving, ongeveer 10 min met tuk tuk vanaf het centrum. Erg vriendelijke, behulpzame mensen, maakten een ontbijt pakket voor vroege wandeling, of lekker ontbijt op prachtig plekje bij het huisje.

Wij vonden het bed te smal voor twee personen, het huisje was klein en de bovenverdieping overdag te warm.

Das Frühstück und Abendessen wird von seiner Mutter zubereitet und ist wirklich sehr authentisch und lecker. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und konnten wichtige Informationen zu unserem Trip erhalten.

De hosts waren heel vriendelijk en hielpen ons met alles. Van een heerlijk ontbijt, thee bij aankomst en transport voor al onze reizen. Heel fijn!

De douche had weinig druk helaas

Het was onze meest unieke locatie in Sri Lanka. In een heel leuk zelf gemaakt huisje waar je uitkijkt over de thee plantages. Als je het leuk vindt om iets unieks te beleven en je niet te erg op de details zit raad ik deze locatie zeker aan. Ook de host en zijn moeder zijn super vriendelijk. We kregen goede tips en een super ontbijt in een boom hutje met mooi uitzicht over de plantages.

Wij vonden alles leuk, het was misschien ietsje minder comfortabel dan andere plekken waar wij verbleven. Het bed was iets kleiner dan normaal, de douche had niet een hele harde straal (wel warm/heet), wij hadden geen handdoeken maar wij vonden dat niet erg, het unieke verblijf was dat zeker waard.

Zeer leuke plek, eigenaar heeft het zelf gebouwd met een vriend en een hele leuke zitplek erbij gebouwd met prachtig uitzicht over de theevelden. De moeder van de eigenaar verzorgde het eten en de koffie en thee. Zeer vriendelijke allebei. Wij hebben een top verblijf gehad.

De douche was moeilijk te besturen en niet altijd warm, de locatie was heel mooi, maar wel verder uit het centrum.

Gastheer zeer vriendelijk. Vroeg hoe laat er het ontbijt wilde hebben en liet blijken dat het incl. Was ( later kregen we de rekening ) uitzicht maar wel ver van het centrum als je geen vervoer zelf hebt. Gastheer beantwoorden al je vragen en wat er in de buurt te doen was.

Bed is zeer slecht en klein. Voor mensen die langer zijn dan 1.70 hang je met je voeten buiten. Kussen valt ook steeds van het bed als je slaapt. Het bed boven in een matrasje op de grond en ontzettend hard. Gehorig, we konden de gasten van beneden letterlijk verstaan. Douche was niet heel warm en geen harde straal. Zou het niet voor een tweede keer boeken. Let op of je ontbijt incl hebt want zo komt het over maar als je ontbijt niet incl hebt zou ik buiten de deur eten.
