Reviewed Sep 19, 2026I booked with Bookings.com but on arrival they said they were fully booked. They had to search some time to find a room for us. From 21:00 we did not have any water until we booked out the next morning. We couldn't even take a shower.

On arival we realized tv does not work. We waited 2 hours for reception to assist us with problem. When we asked again she apparently forgot about us. They moved us to another unit where we had to sleep on single beds with linen that was to small for bed. No extra blankets. And we were a family of 3 people. TV had only 3 channels working ETV CHANNELS. And we could not watch the rugby Saturday. Sports channel was blocked. Service was very poor. I will never stay there again. The only thing we enjoyed was the Restaurant.

The room, it was near the main road and at some point there was a bus picking people or guests infront of our Unit, so they will wake us up. Then the issue was water pressure. If you and the neighbour are bathing at sametime one of you might experience cold water shower. So Ideally I will not book the single rooms.

A lot. In a few years the place has become run down. New management - I hope not. Caged animals with a driving range scaring animals that had more freedom before. Our chalet fell apart.

Learnt there were other chalet options available not offered when searching. Missing pots & equipment, that we had to ask for. Was expecting more animals, i.e. zebra 🦓, as shown on website. Seem to cater more to those who only stay for 1 night, due to its location.

When returning from supper, we smelled the shower smelled of urine, which my hubby had to clean even though we were so tired from the road. His wallet stuck to the counter top.

I wish they can improve on bringing More wildlife like Impala, giraffe, ostrich and monkeys for viewing at least, tranquility was lit we enjoyed being there.

The main bedroom was a little small and there was very little room to move, the rest of the apartment was comfortable, the outside chairs needed repairing, very wobbly. WiFi was not working when we got there only after about 3 hours and no communication from the office. Intermittent all evening.

Chalets quite small, did not provide queen bed as per booking, only single beds which meant my feet hung over the end, very close to highway so easy access but quite a lot of road noise from trucks etc.

There was no hot water in the room. I had to call reception and the maintenance arrived very late, i had to sleep without taking a bath. The sliding door to the patio can't open, i did not manage to go out braai and relax at the balcony

The room smelt dreadful. My husband tracked it to the black mould in the bathroom. We had to keep that door closed all night. The sealed concrete was not nicely finished but rather rough and very cold to the touch.

Reviewed Jun 12, 2026The location was great for our needs which was a stopover on route from Cape Town to Joburg. The check-in was easy and staff very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The room was rustic (as expected) but very cosy and provided for our needs. We liked that there was a restaurant (steak house) on the premises which had a lovely atmosphere. It was lovely and quiet with guests that all appeared to be stopover guests as they were all gone early the next day. We chose not to have the breakfast, so I can't comment on it.
The only gripe I have is that that the bath towels were not good. There was a good hand towel and towel mat but the actual shower towels were not bath towels but just standard size and they were old and hard and starting to fray. Other than that all was good!
