Yog Hostel- Best Social Backpacker Hostel in Thamel -Rooftop-Capsule Bunks AC

YOG Hostel feels quite homely. The plants, little fish areas and decoration on the different floors make it feel more personal than a standard hostel. I enjoyed sitting on the rooftop and talking with other guests. The room was comfortable and I had a very pleasant stay.

The staff was helpful and friendly, everything I needed was there. It is a very big hostel. There are several buildings, a big rooftop terrace and another common area which is also a restaurant. Lots of people come to hang out there, also just local people who enjoy the vibe.

Just keep in mind that this hostel is really big in case you usually prefer smaller hostels with a cozy atmosphere. On the rooftop terrace, the music was too loud for me, so I couldn't spend time there.

One of the most happening hostel in thamel location is awesome all facilities just 100 meters away such a beautiful roof top bar and restaurant very spacious shared kitchen with all amenities. Highly recommend place for budget travellers

The staff is kind, my room was really clean and the location is amazing in Thamel.

It was noisy during the week end. Not the fault of the property.

The food, roof top views and good vibes

The shower not very good. To access the toilets should be there a little step for people less able.I wish to have a briefly introduction about the city and the places to visit. I did not know as a foreign I should pay a fee to enter into the square as well as the temples.

Der Aufenthaltsbereich beschränkt sich sehr auf das Rooftop Restaurant das gut besucht ist und wo laute Musik läuft. Trotzdem angenehme Atmosphäre vor allem morgens.

It’s good and best location too , everything is good but they use LPG based water heater and it leaked during my stay , it’s quite dangerous because many were ignoring it due to unaware of such things if left even for some more minutes it would have been an disaster and explosion,it would be nice if you guys replace the LPG water heater with electric water heater for safety ,thank you I hope you take this review and work on it before anything bad happens

Personnel sympa : check-in à n'importe quelle heure même la nuit (ce qui peut d'ailleurs aussi poser problème car le personnel rentre dans la chambre avec le nouveau venu en allumant la lumière et parlant fort). Endroit sympa avec un rooftop et des cours de yoga gratuit à 9h dans le bâtiment d'à côté. Litterie confortable avec casier qui ferme à clé.

Manque de rideau sur les lits. Peut être parfois très bruyant même tard le soir (le personnel donne des boucles quies mais pas toujours suffisant). Pas de réel frontière avec son voisin de lit car collé. Toilette et douche au même endroit, un seul par étage ce qui entraîne parfois la queue.

Only the location of the place was good

The staff appeared friendly and frequently spoke about the amenities offered. However, my excitement quickly faded when I inspected the room. There was an unpleasant odor, the wallpaper was torn, and the washroom was in extremely poor condition. Additionally, when I checked the bedding the next morning, I noticed a burn mark. Overall, the room did not meet basic standards

They claim to also give assistance in booking treks but so far in my experience there, they have been completely useless in that field.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff were always smiling and incredibly helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The room was spotless — clean, tidy, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the 24-hour hot shower in the washroom, which made a big difference after a long day. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged. The overall service was top-notch. It’s clear that the team takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about the guests’ experience. My stay was excellent- the property is beautifully designed,with a rooftop that truly stands out. The staff were attentive, my room was clean and well maintained, and the 24/7 hot shower was very convenient. A comfortable and welcoming stay that I would gladly recommend.

Great place !

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The atmosphere is great, the rooms are clean, and the location perfect and rooftop is great.

This hostel is a fantastic hostel that truly captures the essence of a vibrant travel community. With clean and spacious dorms, a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly staff, it made my stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Its prime location and organized events made exploring the city and meeting fellow travelers a breeze—highly recommended!

The hostel was horrible, zero ventilation and sad washroom but the private rooms were fine, comfortable beds and clean washrooms, although I had to climb up and down quite a lot to reach the pvt room since they've designed the hostel that way lol, On a whole I would not suggest to stay here They have an incredible rooftop views, that's their USP. So go to the rooftop and exit after you have fun :)

If i have to give an honest review, it was actually good staying there. Well I was in Kathmandu for traveling so didn't stayed long in hostel but yeah it was good staying there. The thing i liked more about this hostel was it's greenary, well too asthetic walk way, even the dome i was staying was actually pretty good it's rooftop restaurant and bar. It was actually fun spending time there,seeing the view.

The culture, vibe and staff was good.

Room was smelling bad that made stay uncomfortable. Apart from that it was good.

I booked the double deluxe room and it was great. We had a little lounge area and our private toilet which was great. Awesome staff members. All were really nice and the roof top bar is great to enjoy a few drinks and have a nice view over the area

We had an upgrade which meant we got a massive room. We felt at home in yog hostel and the other guests were a good mix of people. We had some issues with the bathroom but the staff sorted it straight away. The receptionists and the cafe staff are really lovely, thanks for a wonderful stay!

The free yoga on the roof was the worst yoga session I’ve ever attended. Very overcrowded. It’s worth going to just for a laugh if you can be bothered to wake up.

The staff, location and beds were incredible! Loved it there, also very nice restaurant on top, great yoga classes and discounts on other sessions like sound healing. Absolutely loved it there! Highly recommend! ☆☆☆☆☆

it was really unclean, and didn't even have the fan. and the dorm was really congested, with no window and space at all. I have to move out of that room.
