Eden Eco Village has a great location, and the food was very good. However, the accommodation is quite basic and rustic, with more of a backpacker feel. The tiny fan did very little to cool the room, and the bathroom was also extremely basic. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the manager particularly helpful. It may suit travellers looking for a simple, budget-friendly stay, but it wasn’t quite right for me.
I didn’t find the manager particularly helpful
The views were stunning
The rooms were not clean, it was really noisy because near a hostel playing loud music till late..and the staff was a bit too reserved to be polite..
amazing primitive location with beautiful views
it seemed a little unkept- specifically the toilet
This place was beautiful! The location was amazing, the rooms were equally amazing. I experienced both the treehouse and the lake bungalow, honestly I preferred the treehouse. The views in the lake are great but in terms of comfortability, the treehouse has its own private shower and bathroom. Whereas the bungalows is a shared toilet space. The food was lovely also, everything home made and tastes so fresh.
Not much really. My only problem was Saturday night there was loud music but it’s not Edens village fault as it’s from the hostel/hotel across the river but just something to note if visiting on the weekend. It’s quite loud too.
The view was absolutely stunning.
No contact about collection from Kampot (multiple times) No one on reception. Put in wrong hut Fan barely worked and couldn’t be placed near bed. Very hot. Bed linen smelled really bad Bed was lumpy Ordered breakfast. Never acknowledged. Noise was consistent from different sources. Workmen next to the huts put load music early in the morning. Had to leave after 1 night.
Amazing location, good bar/restaurant on site
Nothing really
This place really is one of a kind in all the best ways! It was so unbelievably relaxing and the bed was so comfy. Sitting and relaxing in the hammock by the river was an absolute dream. I had seen reviews about the noise of the hostel next door but it didn’t disturb us at all! There was a very low hum of music but it turned off at around 10/11pm. The sounds of the nature was so so relaxing and peaceful. The lodge itself self is basic but that’s what you pay for and expect. Both the en suit and compost toilets were extremely clean! The shower had better pressure than some hotels I’ve stayed in. When it comes to food and service I couldn’t compliment the staff enough! The girls cooking are so so talented! The food was so so fresh and some of the best food I’ve had since traveling for 6 months. Being able to have ginger tea and fresh mango sorbet on our balcony was a lovely touch. The manager was extremely helpful and welcoming. Special shout out to the cute cats for the cuddles!
Loved the location and huts on the river. Perfect way to relax! I enjoyed swimming and kayaking. The food was excellent as well! The bed was comfortable. The mosquito net was great to have. I loved sleeping on the river and feeling very much so out in nature. The shower was fun being a coconut. The composting toilet was also so fine. Be prepared to be out in nature when coming here and you’ll have a beautiful time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The most beautiful spot to stay in Kampot. I had planned to see mpre of Kampot but it was so beautiful at the eco village I didnt want to leave. Amazing food, view, kayaking, sunset, service - best place ive been in Cambodia!
I truly loved everything about my stay!
This is a beautiful little place! It’s very natural and simple.
We visited June 2026 there is major construction happening right next to the accommodation. They will start chain sawing and working at about 6am. It is INCREDIBLY loud. Once they start, you are up. There was also someone playing with a boat engine right outside our room at about 2am for an hour. The rooms are open completely and you can hear EVERYTHING. The bugs are also very hard to manage as the huts are very open.
amazing location, great views from our bungalow
it got very hot and there was only one small fan in the room, so sleeping was a bit of a struggle. whilst we understand it’s an eco-lodge, a second fan would have made a massive difference in our stay. they mosquito net also had numerous tears and large holes, so it was not the most effective in keeping them out.
Nice friendly staff Comfortable hammocks by the river
Extremely loud noise coming from establishment across the river on weekends until early hours into the morning.
I just absolutely loved this place, the river bungalow was so cute! Super relaxing to stay at the river, the food was also great, and the free kayaks to grab
There’s a lot of bugs at night but that’s to expect (and there’s a good mosquito net)
The view is the beautiful being right next to the river with the national park in the background. Staff is friendly and the food is great.
It was impossible to get more than 4 hours of sleep. Music and motor bikes from the bar next door till 11pm. Mosque morning prayer from 4am then construction workers came in from 6am with cranes, chain saws and machetes. Additionally, they created bonfires just 4 meters from our room, with ashes coming into the bathroom and all our clother smelling of smoke. We understand that some events are outside of the ability of the staff to change or prevent, but they could have at least communicated about it (e.g. not rent on these dates, gives guests a heads up, ask the construction workers to postpone work near the lodges till 8 am, or just apologise for the inconvenience)
I absolutely loved the facility. Being outside of Kampot, the feel is much more quiet and local, which was a welcome change. The tuktuk to Kampot is about 15 minutes, so keep that in mind if you have lots of plans there. I stayed in Bungalow 8 at the end, and it was MAGICAL. A truly wonderful place to stay, the sunset over the river was amazing, and I could have spent hours in the hammock alone. I was also greeted with a lovely welcome plate of fresh fruit and juice, which was amazing. While this place is magical, it's also on the natural/rustic side, so keep that in mind if that isn't what you're looking for. I personally loved the bathroom, with the coconut showerhead. The toilet is for #1 only, with a separate bathhouse for other needs, which I didn't mind. I'm sad I wasn't able to try to Khmer food, which is supposed to be amazing - I had to leave at 10:30am, and the kitchen didn't open for lunch until 11am, which was a shame. The property also had 2 free kayaks for use, which I took to the Green Cathedral at 7:30am. Highly recommend as it was so calm and quiet! I was struggling to find transport to KTI (Techo Airport) in Phnom Penh. Cheng at the front desk was able to find me a driver (who had aircon) for the drive with <1 day of notice.
There are notes to watch jewelry/SIM cards, as they can easily fall between gaps in the walls/floors. I also didn't realize that the room was open-air with no aircon (my fault for not noticing when booking), so the fan was a huge help when it was 31C, and the breeze off the river is great. I closed up my suitcase anytime I wasn't using it, as the geckos and spiders sometimes came to visit. I didn't mind them (the mosquito net was a huge relief though). I didn't hear the party music that people spoke of, but there are lots of sounds if you're a light sleeper - water lapping, boat sounds, critters, call to prayer - earplugs are supplied, but I am a light sleeper, so I didn't get much sleep. The mattress was VERY comfortable though. While the area seems to be safe, being the last bungalow on the end and a solo female traveler, I was mindful of security. The bathroom had a ~2m gap between the walls and roof/ceiling that could easily be scaled (the room itself had this gap too, but was covered with wood beams), and the locks on the porch doors weren't the most robust. I never felt unsafe, but combined with the sounds in the night (and being solo), I wasn't 100% relaxed.
Loved the view over the river. Female staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was great.
Our second stay here, has become very noisy, bar next door, loud bands playing across the river. Has been allowed to run down, few repairs done, rooms and compost toilet not cleaned during our stay of 1 week. This is basic accommodation however, it struggles even to live up to that reputation. I won't be staying here again. Bit sad really.
the rooms are so nice and tidy, very eco surroundings! it's outside the main town so is nice and quiet, the people here are also so lovely and helpful! love the eco sustainability of the homestay!!
Absolutely everything. The vibe is perfect. It feels very authentically Khmer, with fantastic food, an extremely friendly staff, adorable rescue dogs and cats, a very basic but clean and sturdy bungalow over the beautiful river. The kayaks were there to borrow and so much fun. It was easy to get a tuk tuk to and from Kampot.
The hostel next door does diminish the feeling of utter remoteness. But we did not find it nearly as noisy or obtrusive as some reviews suggested. Honestly, it was barely a blip on this paradise.
The view is stunning and the way to live on the river is a unique experience. We loved being in the middle of the nature with a comfortable bed
The hostel next to Eden village can be a bit noisy sometimes.
Hemskt mycket skräp i hela kampot. Hål i myggnätet
food was truly amazing, best food i have had in cambodia so far. room is rustic of course, I unfortunately saw a rat (on a beam close to the ceiling) in my room at night... but that is to be expected in that location. anyway, the view is stunning
We had a wonderful stay here! The huts are basic but that's what makes it special. We loved having the balcony over the river with the hammocks, it's lovely to have breakfast there or watch the sun set over the mountains. We ate here for most of our meals while we were in Kampot and everything was really tasty and reasonably priced, and they can deliver everything to your hut. We used the free kayaks to go to the green cathedral which we really enjoyed, there are only 2 so you can get unlucky if they're being used but they were free fairly often while we were there. We also enjoyed befriending the cats!
There was some noise during our stay, some of the boats have loud engines and woke us up early morning. Not Eden's fault, but earplugs could be useful if you're a light sleeper
Beautiful location and really unique experience whilst in Cambodia!
It was quite noisy at night with boats coming past but nothing to overly worry about, worth it!
The only thing would be the noise but it was to be expected for this type of accommodation. It was such a gorgeous hut, I loved it!
What a wonderful place reminds me of travelling 20 years ago. The food was amazing, just lovely and away from town.
Cadre agréable. Cuisine incroyable
This is perfect for a night to take a minute to enjoy the beautiful views of the river and watch sun set Free kayaks Lots of food / drink options to cater for all Hammocks
Bare in mind this is a eco home so expect I.e toilet bowl in the room to pee that goes straight in the river and coconut shell shower head 🚿 It is very noisy here from all the animals around so unfortunately unable to get a good night sleep Notes : bring mosquito repellent due to nature of the location and order a grab to get there from man centre very cheap You just got to lean in to this experience
On recommande
The room, the view and location is amazing.
Nothing really, the things we were expecting to be bad like the neighbor's noise, the bathroom situation and the sound from the mosque aren't as bad as we thought.
It's a gorgeous property at a decent price. Had a great time here!!
That it were so close to the river and all the amenities and places/things accessible.
Very pleasant staff, excellent food, the bungalow was comfortable and the location was quiet.
Everything was amazing, best bits where: staff so friendly, food amazing, breakfast in the room, free kayaks.
It’s a 20 min tuktuk drive out of the city which is the point with it being a resort, there is a little bit of noise from a building site next door and a temple nearby. The toilet also isn’t in the door and the bathroom facilities are quite basic but all part of the experience!
1. krásné domečky 2. kajaky zdarma 3. vynikající jídlo
Kola zdarma nebyla k dispozici
We loved how special and authentic the place feels. The rooms are comfortable, and the whole property has a lot of character. Staying here is a truly memorable eco-style experience. It was a quick stop on our trip but we still had time to enjoy kayaking at the property. So much fun. The staff was super sweet and helpful.
Not really we didn’t like, just some notes for future guests. It’s a slow pace place, so if you plan on eating there just order beforehand and then go on with your day, maybe do some kayaking, take a bicycle around the area and then come back. We were a bit on a tight schedule and totally forgot to do it that way so we ended up running with our meal to go.
The property is so beautiful and located right on the river. The staff was so kind and the food was some of the best food I’ve had in Southeast Asia.
Sometimes it smells a bit funny but it’s because it’s located right on the river! You just have to lean into it
Amazing place sooo peaceful and the food was insane!! Please get the mango jam toast, I know it sounds basic but it was amazing!!
Beautiful property with lovely staff, the food was unreal you must try the breakfast! Use of kayaks was great and a nice tranquil place.
Unfortunately the party hostel next door was blasting music until 2am which made it difficult to sleep - not Eden’s fault but bring earplugs! Also no soap in the bathroom - could buy a bar or eco soap or something Our room had a hammock on the balcony, but whilst kayaking we saw other bungalows had chairs.
Vooral heel lekker eten.
Veel muziek, bouwgeluiden en een moskee.
