Nice hotel, food good and staff nice, pool and beach is great Javier from entertainment is really awesome
⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience. I have been waiting for my refund for a long time, and despite providing all the requested documents and contacting both the hotel and my bank, I still have not received my money. Communication has been slow, and I keep getting delays without a clear resolution or timeline. This has been very frustrating and has caused unnecessary stress. I expected much better customer service from Hyatt. I hope they resolve this issue immediately, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel until they improve how they handle refund cases.
We went to Hyatt for the first time and our expectations were high. The resort is exceptional and the staff is amazing. While there are things that need some improvement, the staff was receptive and quick to fix them. The location is great as it is only a 5 minute Uber ride to Zona Romántica. Safety is great here as well and never felt unsafe. There are enough restaurants and you don't need to make dinner reservations, which is great. Downside is if you go to the most popular restaurant your wait will be greater. Staff was great, especially the ala carte cooks in the Vivaz buffet whose great personality and delicious seasoning keep us coming back. There were a few glitches, which I've made the hotel aware of. Overall they are extremely responsive to any needs. Not the best for couples. It is ideal for a family though. Definitely recommend and we would return.
Hyatt Ziva was everything that I wanted at an all-inclusive resort. The private beach was amazing. The staffs were so attentive. Thank you for an amazing stay.
Beautiful private beach with cliffs Great ocean for chilling. Very smooth waves. Beautiful views from beach, pool, and room. GREAT staff at every level from hostess to servers and front desk. Very welcoming. Great entertainment staff. So much fun with volleyball and foam party!
This resort is so amazing! The community the staff shares there is incredible! My family and I had the pleasure of meeting Leo, Karolyn, and Javier who made the experience so much more enjoyable! They are so fun and the entertainment they bring is unforgettable!
The staff at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta make the gorgeous location and facilities truly perfect! Having a great view is one thing, feeling like you are at home among friends is another! We will never forget our time here!
Beautiful beach views, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations would be how I would sum up my experience at the Hyatt PV.
Location is beautiful! Beach is stunning and many pools to enjoy. July is not the time of year to enjoy this location. SO SO HOT! No AC in lobby, hallways, elevators (sometimes yes sometimes no), and the AC in restaurants was also not satisfactory. Beach water is also pretty warm this time of year. The property itself did not live up to the Hyatt standard. In my opinion. There are two towers and from what I gathered one is newer than the other and we were not in the newer. Food was just ok, I was expecting better.
Amazing location, food and accommodations. We will be back soon! I would recommend the ocean view and the prime rib at the blaze restaurant.
Just got back from a family vacation at the Hyatt Ziva PV. WOW. The resort is nestled in a cove which makes the beach private. They do a fabulous job manicuring the beach every day. The ocean was great our week. Spent a lot of time inside the water and at the pool. Just about every pool is an infinity pool which is very very nice. We did a private car to and from the airport with amstar. Worked out very well. However we did all our excursions through Manuel on the beach with Viking. We enjoy getting out on the water and his boat comes right up to the beach and picks you up. We did snorkeling and fishing with him and I highly recommend him. Definitely glad Hyatt has him which made everything so nice and easy. The resort has 4 restaurants plus the buffet plus all the other food they set up in the lobbies and huts. The food is abundant. They also have service down perfectly. You can tell everyone is well trained. If you are looking in PV and rely on reviews like I do .... hope this helps. We had a fabulous time at the Hyatt.
Can’t say enough about the entertainment staff a big shout out to Karolyn, Ziry and Leo! they made our stay so much fun helping us create a lot of new memories.
The hotel was average, the food was below average. If you wanted to sit by the pool you needed to rent a cabana as well as if you wanted food service. The prices for the spa were ridiculous. Overall I would rate this place a 6. I would not come back.
This was our third visit to Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, and this time was for my wedding. My wife and I had the best experience there, and always do. Compared to other resorts in the area, the value you get from the layout and privacy of the resort on it's own private beach, the quality of the food, the staff and service you get is truly top notch. I can't recommend this place enough. If you can, the swim out rooms (not club section) are worth the extra price.
The absolute best staff out of all of the all inclusive resorts I’ve been to! Diego with the Spa is one of the nicest young men we have ever met! Israel, Joel, Alex and Alijandro were all amazing! Honestly they were the very best!! The setting is like a private resort with zero people from other beaches walking through! The beach has no other access on both sides. It is gorgeous! Definitely could use some updates in the rooms on the non-VIP side, though.
our stay in this hotel resort was disappointing, staff were nice but front desk line was always busy, I tried calling them at least 50ntimes and they never answered, we had to either go down or call somewhere else and ask them to connect us to the front desk food was below average, nothing special and there were flies and fruit flies flying over all the food items, buffet was disgusting and it didn`t seem to bother them at all. beach towels were only available in the morning and during the day it was impossible to find them, the whole time we were there they kept trying to sell us their cabanas and wouldn`t allow guest to use them without paying for them- we had transportation from and to airport included in our pachage and at the end of our stay there were denying our transportation back to the airport. overal, we don`t recommend this resort
Being my first time to Puerto Vallarta, I did not know what to expect of the city or the accommodations. The resort came recommended by some friends who had stayed there multiple times previously. After a 30-40 min ride from the airport, we passed through the Zona Romántica and arrived at our private resort, tucked into a small bay. We were immediately greeted and assisted in checking in, and walked over to the Club tour to our where our room was located. Our room had a fantastic view at all times of the day. The room was spacious and well appointed, with double sinks and a large shower, and plenty of storage around for clothes and our luggage. And a well stocked mini fridge. Our room attendant was lovely as well and did a great job keeping our room clean on a daily basis. The only issue (one evening) was loud music coming from Hyghlightz which made it difficult to sleep that night. We made use of the adult pool and adjacent beach every day. We never had trouble finding a recliner under an umbrella, and staff from the closest bar (Tortugas) frequently checked in if we wanted drinks or water. Our regular bartender, Orlando, took time to get to know us and make speciality drinks for us as well. And provided waters whenever we needed. We tried several of the dining options (Blaze, Vivaz, Casa Grande, Hyghlightz, and Tamari) and we had no complaints. Blaze was particularly great for breakfast and lunch (though a bit hot), and Vivaz had a perfect selection for breakfast time. The sushi and entrees at Tamari were flavorful and fresh. Overall, this was a really great resort set in a fantastic location that's hard to beat. A private beach, isolated enough from the city but still only a 5-10 minute Uber ride away if you want to go. Staff were friendly and helpful everywhere, and consistently willing to help in any way possible. We will absolutely be back in the near future!
We picked this place due to the calm water that is hard to find in this area. The hotel was very nice. Clean rooms, but a little tired and need an upgrade. Service was great, the dinner restaurants were very good. The overall complaint is the buffet was average, and wish they had more entertainment. Kids club was great for the kids.
Staff were great - the penthouse suite isn't worth the money - the better spots are the swim up locations. I asked to be switched and it all worked out well.
The penthouse suite isn't worth the money. Other than that, everything was wonderful.
Hotel and rooms need to be update furniture is old and food is good but not great, service is exelente! coffe shop and Sports Bar need better AC
It was amazing! The staff, location, food and drinks were truly all five star worthy. Especially Israel, and Christian, their service was exceptional! They even included a discounted rate for us to have a swim up room, and that was a game changer for us!
Beautiful private beach setting. Swimmable and well maintained- extremely clean beach. Not crowded. Pools were awesome as well.
The food quality in the Buffet restaurant. Also, breakfast croissants were terrible.
I'm mainly leaving this review for the benefit of parents of children with celiac disease (or more generally anyone who has celiac). The staff was incredibly helpful and very accommodating of celiac needs, ensuring that my daughter's meals were cooked separately to prevent or minimize contamination. I highly recommend this place with the caveat that communicating very early on and frequently with the in-restaurant management staff is critical. We frequently saw the same staff at the various restaurants so it was easy to establish when we planned on coming to breakfast and lunch (at the buffet) so they could prepare ingredients, workstations, and meals ahead of time. Staff were generally knowledgeable of the difference between gluten allergy and celiac disease. Overall, the typical uncertainty and dread that comes with traveling ended up being a very positive and stress-free experience. We left without any gluten incidents. The resort was beautiful, well kept, great beach, fun activities, etc.
We had an excellent stay. As a family of 5, we had two connecting club rooms. We rented 2 cabanas every day. Alejandro and Joel did an amazing job. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Capitán José Luis provided exceptional dinner service at Blaze. The weather and ocean were absolute perfection. This is a very special resort.
Two years ago we stayed and the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and had an amazing time and loved the resort so much that we wanted to check out another Hyatt Ziva but we wanted to try a new location and be able to swim in the ocean which was not possible at Los Cabos. We knew this resort would be smaller with fewer restaurants/bars, but the service was every bit as good and overall the food and drinks were wonderful. The resort is small and intimate and you can get everywhere in minutes from your room. There were a variety of small and lovely pools and hot tubs and only one hot tub needed some upkeep because tiles were coming off. The water temperatures were comfortable and the ocean water was a perfect temperature. Some days the waves were bigger and a bit trickier to navigate the break water, but some days were calm. Several shower head around the property to rinse off the sand. Nothing was crowded. We could always find a chair, but we realize it was off-season. It was only rarely that we couldn't find a towel, but they were always replenished. The history of this hotel is pretty cool. The original tower goes back to 1969 when it was the Camino Real and they hosted jet setters and celebs and movie crews like Predator. It was one of the first resorts in Puerto Vallarta, and it was renovated again just three years ago. The new tower which I hink is about 12 years old is the club tower and that's where we stayed. The elevator was quick and uncrowded. If you need to have the absolute latest decorating trends vs something that has more of a Mexican vibe with an orange/brown/purple color palate, this tower is not for you. But the jacuzzi worked great, the shower was huge, and the room was cleaned every day without any issue. Was there a little musty small now and again? Yeah, but it's a really humid climate! What else would you expect. It rained some while we were there, but it was a warm rain and we sat in the hot tub or our club jacuzzi or enjoyed a meal. We avoided going into town during the rain because we figured it wouldn't be as fun to walk around. 100 pesos cab ride--very easy. The mariachi band/singer/dancers were the best we've ever seen. The hotel dancers/jugglers were wonderful. Very warm, attentive, professional and caring service from one and all and special shout outs to Alejandra, Soledad, Angel and Marco at Vivax buffet. Edwardo (so nice haning out with you) and Ivan at the club tower bar. Natalio makes the most creative drinks at the pool bar. We had the best 45 minute kayak tour with Kevin heading just a bit north up the bay. Thank you to the new bartender at the Asian restaurant for the tequila tasting! Thank you to the gals at the deli/coffee bar for your quick service every day. Lucy and Marinaly greeted us with a smile every day in the lobby of the club tower. Thank you one and all. We really feel like we made new friends. We can definitely recommend this resort if you want something that is on a smaller scale but covers all of the bases and offers hospitality. but is not massive, fancy or pretentious.
Top notch compared to other all-inclusive resorts I've been to. Staff was exceptional. Always felt safe with 2 teenagers and the ground were well kept!
This was our first visit to this hotel and we paid the upgrade fee to Club level. I definitely would not recommend paying that fee. The bar and food area was just not worth it. The afternoon food tends to sit and got dried out and gross. My boyfriend also burnt his hand on one of the metal spoons someone left in the cheese. I have been to other resorts and paid for club level and received a lot perks, but this is the first time I would say it was not worth it. Our room was nice and clean, we had a couple rainy days so we tried to watch the TV. The TV is not a smart TV, they don’t have a list of channels, and there was a line right now the middle of the TV. Long story short it was a no go so we watched a show on our small tablet. The beach was very clean, although the waves were rough. Which we understood was possible during this season. What was really concerning was it was a red and purple flag day with a lot of jellyfish spotted. There were two lifeguards on duty and neither of them said anything to a father/younger son duo that went out into the water. And those waves were brutal! My boyfriend had went out the day before on a yellow flag day and he came right back in because it was so rough. Not everyone understands the flags so I hoped that they would educate them. The coffee shop was amazing! Loved it and drank so much coffee. They also have soft serve ice cream there. Yummy!! There is a smoothie stand by the pools in the morning. One morning there was a wonderful guy there that was great. Another morning I stood there for 15 minutes… a lady finally appeared and then went into the back. I asked if she was doing smoothies and after a bit she finally made me one. Besides the smoothie lady, all the staff were extremely polite and very nice. My favorite server was at the Italian restaurant. We are gluten free and he went above and beyond to get us food we could eat. He was amazing and was the fastest, hardest working server we had. I wish I would have gotten his name to recognize him here. On a side note we found out that they have gluten free buns for the hamburgers you just need to ask. The buffet was good. Id highly recommend going to the seafood station at lunch and getting the shrimp by. I could have eaten just that the whole time there, so much flavor!
My husband and I had yet another amazing vacation with friends at the Hyatt Ziva! We have been to this property at least 20 times. We continue to return for the excellent service, food, and scenery! There are faces we have seen for years at the property as well as new ones with all of them going above and beyond to ensure everyone is enjoying their time here. They go the extra mile with a smile and hand over their heart to answer questions and to assist if they do not have the answer to your question or request. The food and beverages are top notch! The sunsets from the beach are phenomenal and a great end to a perfect day in paradise! Why do we keep coming back and not try another resort? It is like home to us! It is very laid back and relaxing! We know what we are going to get at this resort and does not disappoint. A special shout out to Tony who was our club tower bartender last year who is now in the buffet. He went out of his way to offer to make a mango margarita for me (like the ones he made last year) when he was at the pool bar helping out for a couple of minutes. He remembered that he had made mango margaritas for me last year. We had 2 great beach waiters Alex (AKA #1) and Joel! They both had smiles on everyday and work their tales off keeping us hydrated! Hector (he has been here as long as I can remember) and Betty (she was a new face to us) in the buffet greet you daily with a smile and a Buenos Dias! We have made great friends over the years with the beach vendors Vincente, Izzy, and Conrado! Thank you Hyatt Ziva and all of your employees for doing what you do every day! We look forwards to seeing you again soon.
Beach was excellent and not rocky as I thought it would be. Food for the most part was delicious except the Asian restaurant Tamari. Our favorites were Blaze and & Casa Grande restaurants. Most of the staff was wonderful and we will definitely be back.
Wonderful experience, especially good with the kids. Kids club was amazing, beautiful resort. Blaze and Tamari restaurants are some of the best food i’ve had, and the atmosphere can’t be beaten.
From the minute you walk in until you leave we weee amazed with the staff. Amazing food and entertainment. We’ll definitely be coming back.
One of the nicest hires I’ve ever been to! Beautiful beaches! Hyatt Ziva has the best staff, very attentive, and caring!
Had a wonderful time, unique location, excellent staff , the hotel is 10 minutes from the center of town. We took a food tour and loved it. I can’t wait to come back next year.
We had such a great time here and would definitely stay here again. The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. Everything was clean, and the beach was absolutely wonderful. We spent a lot of time at the pools and enjoyed all of them. The service throughout the resort was fantastic. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The food was also really good. We enjoyed most of the restaurants, although the Italian restaurant wasn't quite as good as the others. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job during our stay. The only thing I didn't like was at check-in. We were told a lady in a light pink shirt would help us get situated, but it turned out she was trying to get us to sign up for a timeshare presentation. When I declined, I got the feeling she wasn't very happy about it. If you're not interested in a timeshare pitch, I'd just politely say no and move on. Honestly though, that was the only negative during our entire trip. Everything else was wonderful. Beautiful beach, great food, excellent service, clean rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere. We had a great time and can't wait to come back.
Everything from check in to check out was easy! Staff very welcoming and super friendly. The resort was beautiful and the beach was fabulous. The pool staff was very attentive, bringing drinks any time we asked. The steakhouse (Blaze) was really good! We had a dinner there and a breakfast. The Teppan grill was delicious. Overall there were so many really good choices for food, including 24 hour room service! I
The only thing I can think of is adding more electrical sockets for charging devices.
From the moment you step onto the grounds, this resort sets itself apart. The property is immaculate and lush with beautiful flowers and mature trees. The sound of waves carries to every corner of the resort, creating a constant, calming backdrop that never gets old. The pool area is truly the heart of the resort, and our server Israel deserves a special shoutout — he was attentive, personable, and made the entire experience feel personal. He remembered everyone's names and their favorite drinks without being asked twice. The pool water was always at the perfect temperature, and unlike most resorts, the pool stayed open late for night swims. The hot tub was also available in the evenings, perfect for watching the sunset. Renting a poolside cabana is absolutely worth it. You get a private menu, shade, storage, and dedicated service. It elevates the whole pool experience. The sports bar was a lively highlight — a large, well-equipped space with multiple TVs, pool tables, and foosball. Drinks throughout the resort were consistently strong and freshly made, never watered down. Room service was prompt and the food arrived hot and fresh every time. The entertainment team brought real energy to the stay. The Circus Rock show was a standout, and the foam party was an absolute hit for our group. For a family-friendly resort, the balance is impressively well managed. Children had their own dedicated pool and activities, so families and adults both felt catered to without stepping on each other's experience. We were also here for a beach wedding, and the resort's event team exceeded expectations. The setup on the beach was stunning, the staff worked tirelessly in the heat to keep guests fed and drinks flowing, and the food quality, for an outdoor beach dinner, was genuinely impressive. Tip: grab a taxi into town for the flea market, the pier, and dinner at Pepe's or Mar Y Vino. Worth the short drive!
Got photos for free with smart photography with Jonathan. He was very great, kind and professional. We selected 5 photos and purchased them at a good price

I absolutely recommend Hyatt Ziva. I went there with my girlfriend for our anniversary, and I could not have been more pleased with this all-inclusive resort. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help with whatever needs you have. The beach is perfect, private, and had great ocean quality! (No seaweed). The bar service was on top of everything and can make almost any drink you ask for. I do recommend getting ether a taxi through the hotel to pick you up from the hotel. Their taxi service is safe and very reliable. I did see a few reviews about the food quality being poor, but honestly, I thought the food was great. There are some food options like the sushi that were not as well prepared, but all the dishes are pretty straight forward and tasty. I highly recommend Melanzane (Italian restaurant - all their food looked amazing, but the lasagna was perfect) and Tamari (Asian restaurant - not for the sushi but get a reservation for the hibachi). Some restaurants take reservations from around 5-6:30 but after that it is first come first serve, so be prepared to make a res with the front desk if you want to make sure your table is secure. We never really had to make any reservations because we ate late though. Also, some restaurants only do either breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or sometimes multiple (you just have to look on their website to see which ones do which). Be prepared for how hot the hotel actually is. It is mostly open concept with little air conditioning, so it is pretty hot when walking around. Our room was the king bed with ocean view (great view! - I attached photos) and jacuzzi. It was nice and cool in our room and was absolutely perfect. They even gave us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Overall, I was so happy with my stay and already miss it. I will definitely consider coming back.
Having stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in both San Jose del Cabo and Cancun, we found the Puerto Vallarta property just a little dated, in need of a little renovation. Not a lot, mind you, and overall we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves. The beach is effectively private since there's no convenient access from the road and the shore is nice and sandy, there are plenty of lounge chairs and palapas, and the service is great. There are plenty of pools, but they are each on the small side and tend to heat up during the day to the point of being too warm. Finding lounges with good shade was also harder, poolside. Unfortunately, all the poolside canopy beds were not part of the all-inclusive package but available for an additional charge (we've stayed at other places where these would be reservable as part of the package). There are plenty of dining choices, both the main buffet restaurant as well as a number of specialty ones. The buffet was excellent, the specialty restaurants were good to quite good. The service at the property is excellent; staff are all friendly and helpful.
We have stayed at this property years ago (before Hyatt) and liked the location and larger private beach, but it just wasn't what we expected. While the service was good, there were several things that disappointed us. We stayed in the Club Tower and liked having the extra space, couch, desk area & balcony. There wer quite a few things that needed some TLC both in our room and in the hallways. The two different gals that cleaned our room were great and did a really good job. The central part of the buildings, where the restaurants are located, was so hot that it was difficult to eat. Found out the last day that there was a problem with the A/C-thank goodness it worked in our room! The food was very inconsistent-Blaze was good for lunch but my steak one night was so salty it was inedible. Same with the Italian-one night the fish was delicious and then the second time it was so salty I couldn't even eat it or the vegetables. The Asian (not hibachi) was awful and we didn't finish our meal. Didn't eat at the Mexican as it was unbearably hot inside. The buffet was really good for breakfast as was the variety. They had quite a few choices that were typical Mexican style-we enjoyed that. The drinks at the bars were very inconsistent and we would get a Marg from one place and the next time it was flavorless. One thing we didn't enjoy were the "upselling" for adventures as we were approached several times and I told them we weren't interested, but each day a different person asked. The most disappointing was the addition of the cabanas at the adult pool-they took up so many spaces which made the rest of the seating minimal and it felt rather claustrophobic. We often couldn't find a place to sit-very disappointing and I wasn't expecting to pay extra to sit by the pool-even the chairs in the water were reserved for the cabanas! It should be noted that we don't usually stay at all-inclusives, preferring to rent an apartment and go to our favorite restaurants and food trucks in town but this was a spur of the moment trip and we were familiar with the property and the area, so decided to try it-wished we hadn't!
El personal y la playa
Las almohadas muy duras
Poor customer service at check in. Everything else was top notch, but that definitely will make us reconsider next time.
Hector and Angel at Vivaz are spectacular. Hector at blaze is awesome. And everyone in the entertainment team is also great.
The hotel was nice except for one incident. We had a wedding contracted book of rooms. Some guests stayed offsite. Several bought a night or day pass to come and hangout and celebrate with everyone. One of our guests came to the lobby right before his night pass expired. Guest services came up to him and confirmed his name. They then told him he had to leave. He explained to them he was just finishing his drink and then would get a uber homes they told him no and forced him to leave the property in the middle of the night down a poorly lit road. There were witnesses. He was calm and polite all the way through. They refused him to get a uber home. This was pretty messed up and when I found out about this and asked told the front desk, they didn’t act very surprised by this and just said “ok”
Overall a great experience at the resort. Loved Blaze restaurant. The ocean front location, food, ambiance & most of all the delightful, friendly & helpful staff including Alondra, Hector, Angel, Christian, Delilah & Ary. Luis at the Casa Grande restaurant was wonderful! Our favourite bar tender was Ivan. Kevin with the kayaks was a hero rescuing our daughter’s prosthetic leg from the ocean. Leo with the pool activities was great! Everyone was friendly & helpful & inclusive of our young grandchild. I would skip the Italian restaurant. Food was just ok & staff were aloof. Our only negative staff interaction was with Oscar G who was rude, manipulative & will do anything including lying to try to sell you a “timeshare”.
Everything was so good! The people. The food. The views. The bars. Highly recommend getting out and seeing the town as well. Did I mention the food??? Truly fancy. Not typical all inclusive resort cafeteria dining. Also no nickel and diming. Room fridge is free and restocked. Room service is free anytime. We took full advantage of the resort (minus the lobster tomahawk and spa options) and had zero additional room charges. And there is so much attention to detail! I had an unexpected bottle of wine placed on my table during cleaning with a warm welcoming note. My neighbor's door got decorated with "happy anniversary". Excursions offered are not affiliated with the hotel but we were very satisfied with what we did - well worth the cost as well. Will definitely stay here again!
We stayed at this resort last week and our group of 15 had an amazing time! Some things that really stuck out as being top notch were number one the food! Probably the best I have had at an all inclusive resort. The second was the kids club! We had three young kids with us and they could not get enough of the kids club. The third was the beach its beautiful and the fact that its completely secluded makes for a more private experience. The overall property was slightly dated but well taken care of and clean! The last and probably most important thing I want to say is how amazing the service was! it was wonderful from start to finish but the service at the pool! Go and find Israel and Joel by the pool! They were amazing! They were so friendly and funny and even remembered what our drink order was day to day! All in all an amazing week I would 100% return!
Comida deliciosa, la atención excepcional y la limpieza
Que las albercas no estuvieran templadas
Just got back from our stay at Hyatt Ziva and honestly still thinking about it. The resort itself is gorgeous but what really got us was the people working there, we felt like actual guests not just room numbers. Im going to try to remember everyone because they deserve the recognition. I know im probably forgetting a few and I feel bad about that but here goes: Alejandro at the bell desk was the first face we saw and he immediately set the tone, gave us a full rundown of the resort and made us feel so welcome. Margarita on the management side was quietly making sure everything ran perfectly the whole time, you could just tell. Our room was always spotless thanks to Angelico who was super attentive and never missed a thing. Oscar, Mario, Alondra, Jenifer, Eddie, Naomi and Carlos, these servers were running around with full sections and still found time to smile and check in on us and make sure our dietary preferences were always taken care off. Never once felt like a bother. Alex at the bar was super friendly and genuinely fun to talk to. He would suggest drinks based on what we liked and never steered us wrong. Joshua was great too. The spa was a whole experience. Maria, Gloria, Diego, Rosa and Heidi were all so welcoming and walked us through everything before we started. Me and my wife did a couples massage and it was incredibly relaxing. You could tell everyone was actually trained and professional not just going through the motions. Caesar at the buffet honestly might be my MVP of the trip. My wife is vegetarian and he put together a full custom vegetarian lunch for her that wasnt even on the menu. Just did it no fuss. That kind of thing you dont forget. And Kevin on the kayak tour, calm, attentive, made us feel totally safe the whole time. Really enjoyed it. If your on the fence about this resort just go. We will definetly be back.
Beautiful surroundings and a relaxing atmosphere make this a pleasant place to stay. The staff were overall very kind, welcoming, and attentive, and the service was consistently good throughout our visit. The property itself, however, feels outdated and could benefit from renovations and modernization in several areas. Food quality was inconsistent during our stay — some meals were enjoyable and well prepared, while others felt average and lacking in freshness or flavor. Despite these issues, the friendliness of the staff and the beauty of the surroundings helped create a better experience. With improvements to the facilities and dining consistency, this place could be great.
A great hotel with nice hospitality while we were there. We have stayed here 3 times over the past 5 years. Unfortunately for us we bought into the Playa Collection last year and used our free nights on this stay. I agree to pay for an extra night for a room that was not a club room as there were no club rooms for all four nights that we were able to come for vacation. I was checking my CC statement after we got home and realized we were overcharged by about $1500 USD. I have called and written to the Hyatt Ziva and was told the refund was processed on their end. That was 2 months ago. I still have not received a refund and do not recommend the Hyatt nor the Playa Collection.
First but definitely not the last visit to Hyatt Ziva PVR. This all inclusive resort exceeds all expectations. From check in to check out everything was top tier. We were in a Club Tower swim up and highly recommend. Food across all dining experiences, 8 restaurants and numerous bars, was excellent, including room service selections (Casa Grande being our favorite). The attention to detail from all staff was out of this world. We booked a romantic beach dinner that was perfect. Every encounter with staff was awesome but want to give a special shout out to a few of the team. Lizbeth the Concierge in the Club Tower was so sweet and helpful Margarita at spa check in Amalia and Irma were our masseuse's for our perfect couples massage Yosuar the spa attendant, this man provided exceptional attention Noe our server for our romantic beach dinner was fantastic The week flew by and we look forward to planning our next experience at Hyatt Ziva and recommending to all our family and friends !
Stayed for 3 nights, excellent location, beautiful ocean views, great food, recommend a la carte for breakfast and lunch at Blaze - on the ocean; lots of great food options, also Cafe has best coffee options and baked treats. Lots of pool options, including adults only. We booked sunset sail excursion through hotel, was easy to book and arrange; pricing was comparable or cheaper to booking locally. Uber best bet economically for travel in/out of hotel. Hotel room was spacious and very comfortable, clean.
The food was great, and we really enjoyed the à la carte options. The staff were also friendly and helpful overall. The only disappointing part of the service was the photography service. They did not keep their promise regarding editing/photoshopping the photos we purchased, and unfortunately we only realized this later. We contacted them through WhatsApp, but although they saw our messages, they never responded. There was also a wedding taking place by the beach under the hotel. The music continued until 10 PM, which made it difficult for us because our daughter usually sleeps around 8:30 PM. It was a hard time for our family. Another issue occurred during checkout. There was construction at the main gate, and our Uber driver could not reach the main lobby. We had to walk uphill to the main gate with a 2-year-old baby and a stroller. This caused us to lose almost 30 minutes, and we were very close to missing our fl
Some of the pros: Do get affagato's at the cafe. The beach was secluded so it was not overcrowded. Blaze dinner was great when it was not busy (go on a Sunday after everyone takes off). Tasty items can be found at the buffet but it can be a hit or miss. For a 5 star resort, I honestly expected more. We booked a room in the older building and the first issue we had was our plumbing. The drain was clogged, which caused water to flood all the way to the toilet area. We used most of our towels to soak up the mess and when they sent someone to fix it we did not get replacement towels. They also didn't really fix it, just clear the top of the drain as it was still slow to drain and flooded 2 more times. Our housekeeper also kept forgetting to refresh our dirty towels. The AC also struggled to keep the room cool. When we arrived, we had a good greeting as it was a Thursday, but as soon as it got busy for the weekend, that's where the service stopped. At many of the restaurants, they seemed to be understaffed and there were long waits for service and food. This especially applied to the more popular spots such as Blaze. For an all inclusive, there were also certainly a lot more paid options than expected.
No night life
I highly recommend Hyatt Ziva in PV!! We have been 3 times! My husband and I first went at the end of 2015, we then returned with our 2-year-old and additional family members in 2022, and then just went again in April 2026 with our now 6-year-old and 1-year-old and extended family. We have been very impressed with the changes and upgrades that have been made over the past 10 years, which have enhanced our experience. This year we took full advantage of the Kids club - our son and two nephews (ages 4-6) enjoyed making pizza, sand castle building on the beach, and a special camp night which involved dinner, s'mores, and a movie on the beach. We love the addition of the poolside cabanas, the smoothie/ceviche/crepe bar (Fresco), and the Teppanyaki table at Tamari! The staff are excellent and the daily activities and entertainment are a great addition. We also love the exclusive beach and you can easily switch between the pool and ocean. This is definitely a more active/lively all-inclusive resort so if you are looking for a quiet, adult-only experience, this is probably not what you are looking for.
Private beach, food options, adults only section, ocean views
Higher waves at beach but ok..
Hermoso lugar! Las piscinas, el mar, el spa … maravilloso
Los shows en el Sport Bar no eran tan buenos. Creo que podrían ofrecer algo mejor
This was our 2nd time to this beautiful property (last time was ~ 15yrs ago when it was a Dreams resort). Good food for an all-inclusive. You can also purchase upgrades for specialty items, which provide better dining options. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. One in particular, José, was beyond a doubt the most extraordinary staff member I have ever encountered. One time when we were eating at Blaze, the sun was bothering my daughter's sunburn, and he graciously stood blocking the sun until duty called him elsewhere! He also impressed us with his wine selections and providing small extras during our dinners there. We will definitely seek him out when we return!
Had a beautiful week at the Hyatt Ziva. We have had many trips there and they never disappoint. I felt the food has really improved. The service was also excellent. It’s a beautiful spot.
We stayed as a family with our four- and five-year-old daughters to celebrate our oldest’s fifth birthday, and the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta completely blew us away. The beach was beautiful, the food was excellent with something for everyone, and our girls had an absolute blast. But what truly stood out was the incredible hospitality—I’ve honestly never experienced service like that. Every staff member went out of their way to make us feel special. We can’t wait to go back!
The location and the beautiful beach.
Wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and courteous and always willing to answer questions or help out. Food and beverages are among the top-rated at any resort we have visited. Highly recommend.
Got a day pass for the day here from 9 am to 5pm. Check in was super easy. Lovely grounds - place wasn’t that busy which was nice. I rented a Cabana in front of the beach - it was heaven. The bar staff was super attentive, fast and hilarious. The pools were nice - they had an adults only section pool - you could see the ocean from it. Was relaxing. Food was decent, I enjoyed the coffee bar. Drinks were yummy - I highly recommend the Passion fruit margaritas! The best part tho was the private beach - the sand was so nice - water was so warm and the waves weren’t too crazy - probably the best beach I’ve swam in PV. There was huge pelicans on the rocks chilling which was cool too. I definitely be back next time I’m in PV! Thank you for the lovely day!!!
expensive. very clean. very friendly and attentive staff. limited "all inclusive" choices and be ready to pay excessively for any ordinary extras. rooms are great; beach area excellent with nice pools looking over the ocean. shows' quality needs improvement and don't expect AC to work at bars.
My friends and I had an incredible stay at this hotel. The staff was outstanding, and the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, truly beyond words. The food was delicious, especially at Blaze and the Italian restaurant. The team was consistently attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. A heartfelt thank you to Alejandra, who made my birthday truly unforgettable. She was exceptional, always attentive to our needs and accommodating our special requests. Many thanks as well to Oscar, Hector, Abraham, Soledad, Juan, Cesar and Ramon for their exceptional service every time we dined, you always took such great care of us. And a big thank you to the animation team Javier, Leo, and Katylyn—for bringing such great energy and fun to our experience. This was truly a remarkable and unforgettable stay.
Everything went smoothly. We enjoyed the clean pools with perfect water temperatures. Tried four ala carte restaurants, we really liked Tamari and Casa Grande food. Staff very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable!!! Nice light duves. We had a ocean view and enjoyed every minute of our stay.
We had an incredible stay at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta—truly one of those trips we’ll be talking about for a long time. The views are breathtaking, the food is amazing, and everything about the resort feels so peaceful and welcoming…but what really made it special were the people. Amalia in the spa gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life—no exaggeration. She was so kind, so professional, and just has a gift for what she does. I walked out of there feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Isaiah on the beach was such a bright spot every single day. He was so friendly, upbeat, and full of energy—it’s like he genuinely loves what he does, and it shows. He made our beach time even more fun and memorable. And Mario at the Italian restaurant…wow. He truly went above and beyond for us. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel taken care of and special. His recommendations were spot on, and his service was just exceptional. It’s the little things—and the people—that make a place unforgettable, and this trip was full of both. We feel so thankful for the experience and can’t wait to come back someday.
Me and my (now) husband got married here!! We spent 9 days at this beautiful resort. The resort is about 30 min from the airport. We were able to set up a ride by Amstar through the resort which was super safe and easy. The resort is located in a little cove so it’s a private beach, no one that isn’t staying at the resort can get in or on the beach which makes if feel super private. The pools were amazing and there was lots of space for all. Family resort but there was an adult pool and quiet pool so can escape it if you’d like. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and updated and the restaurants were amazing! We were so happy with our stay and our wedding week was amazing!!
Private beach for hotel guests only. Great time for adult couples as well as families . Heated pool, hot tub and breathtaking ocean views
We absolutely loved our stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The beach area was beautiful, clean, and well maintained—by far our favorite part of the resort. The customer service throughout our stay was excellent; every staff member was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. For an all‑inclusive, the food truly exceeded our expectations with great variety and quality at every meal. We would definitely recommend this resort and would happily return!
Beautiful location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room service was great. My daughter was married here. Overall great experience
Amazing, beach, in a little private beach, staff was supper nice, amazing food, always had a drink in hand, we were very well taken care of
Great beach , solid food options , well located!
Great amenities, a picturesque view and stunning beach
No night pools or jacuzzi
Stunning resort and friendly staff. Felt totally relaxed, while only 10 minutes from the nightlife of Zona Romantica.
I’m writing this review in the hope that management will listen and make improvements for future guests. This was my third time staying at this property. Before this trip, my wife and I had even talked about buying a timeshare here because we enjoyed our previous two visits so much. We were confident enough in our past experiences that we even convinced family friends to come along with us this time. Unfortunately, this visit was not as good as the previous ones. The drink selection felt limited. I enjoy Mexican beers, but only Dos Equis was available. The food overall was much saltier than before, and the service did not feel as attentive as it had on our earlier visits. I do not know whether this is due to cost-cutting or simply a general decline in service, but this experience made us withdraw our thoughts about buying a timeshare at this location. In fact, we even started talking about trying other destinations, such as Punta Cana, for our next vacation. There were also some other issues that stood out. The pool water appeared too milky, and there were not enough towels available at times. That said, the hotel itself was still nice and clean, and we did have a good time overall. It was just disappointing compared with the high standard set by our previous stays
Todo... la atención del personal de primera, las instalaciones, la habitación, las comidas y amenidades
Todo estuvo bien
First time at the resort and it was fantastic! Staff were amazing, restaurants delicious and the club tower upgrade fabulous! View from our room incredible. It was quiet and clean as well. Would definitely return. Showers were a bit dicey with hot/cold water. Still, we would book again. Close to town which is great. Roughly a 10 min cab ride. Would like to thank Alondra, Adi, Natalio, Susana, Alejandro, Miguel, Carlos, Sophia, Oscar literally everyone was so kind and friendly! Thank you for your amazing service! Nena & Taylor
One of the things we love most about Hyatt Ziva is the consistency - the food is always good, the service is amazing, and the pools and view are what we need on vacation. This trip, Fernando and Jose (sexy waiter) were unbelievably attentive at the relax pool - we never went without and they took the time to get my husband a cake for his 50th poolside. The spa gives a great massage, the gym has everything you need for a good workout. We’ll be back next year! Oh, and Diego - he helped us secure spa times and cabanas and was always welcoming with a smile every day! We’ve been there almost annually (minus pandemic 2020) since 2015.
We recently stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in PV and, overall, I’d rate it closer to a three-star. Cleanliness wasn’t great, nothing terrible, but definitely below what you’d expect from a Hyatt. The food was fine overall, nothing special, but the Italian restaurant was actually really good and a standout. Shoutout to the staff for great service in this restaurant! The pools were a big letdown. They’re small, not very well maintained, and get crowded fast. The cabana situation is also frustrating—you basically need to pay for a cabana to enjoy being poolside, but they’re almost always sold out. The club lounge didn’t feel exclusive but we still enjoyed it plenty! Worth the upgrade in my opinion. Overall, the vibe just wasn’t my jam—it lacks the polish and feel of a higher-end resort. The beach, though, is amazing. Easily the best part of the whole property. If you’ve stayed at a really good all-inclusive before, this one just doesn’t compare. It feels pretty low-end for a Hyatt.
We just returned from a beautiful vacation at this hotel, and overall our stay was very nice. The highlight for us was definitely the beach and the sea — absolutely the best part of the property. The check-in process was smooth and very accommodating to our needs. A special thank you to Luis at the front desk and Gabriela, the manager, who assisted us with the cabana rental. We stayed in the regular section (not the club level) and honestly didn’t feel like we needed an upgrade. The cabana rentals are heavily advertised, but for our needs, they weren’t really worth it. We booked one for two days. While we received great service from Israel and David — who were very attentive, especially with the kids and their drinks (they loved the coconut drinks!) — the cabana itself got too hot and sunny. I had to cover it to create more shade, and the kids only used it briefly. The cabana menu was mostly fried snacks and sandwiches, so if you’re looking for healthier options, the buffet is a much better choice. Cesar, the cook at the buffet, prepared fresh grilled fish and steak for us daily — exactly what we were looking for, and it was always delicious. The buffet service was also excellent. Hector, Angel, Soledad, Sandra, and the rest of the staff were very hardworking, constantly moving and making sure everyone was served quickly and efficiently. We really enjoyed all the restaurants, but surprisingly, our favorite was the Mexican restaurant. Even though we don’t usually eat Mexican food, the experience there was excellent. The service was very personalized, and Joel and Edy made sure we were very well taken care of. The grounds were very clean and beautifully maintained. One thing we really appreciated was the pool towel service — the towels were thick, high quality, and available without needing cards or worrying about limits, which made things much easier when traveling with kids. We also loved the smoothie station, especially the fresh papaya smoothies we enjoyed daily. Our room was cleaned every day and kept in great condition. The kids used the kids’ club a few times — there were some nice activities like cooking classes and sandcastle building, although many activities were indoors, so we didn’t use it as much. The staff there were very kind and responsible. I especially appreciated that when I allowed my daughter to come back on her own, they made sure she was safely taken care of and escort her to our sun bed . Overall, a very enjoyable stay with excellent service, beautiful surroundings, and a fantastic beach experience.
We originally booked a nine night swim out room through WestJet Vacations. Upon check in, due to low resort occupancy, we were offered an upgrade to a Penthouse Suite for the duration of our stay at an additional cost of MXN 31,778 (approximately CAD $2,500). Based on Hyatt’s reputation and the premium nature of the accommodation, we accepted the offer in good faith. While the ocean view from the Penthouse Suite was undeniably spectacular, the condition of the suite itself fell significantly below expectations and was inconsistent with both the cost of the upgrade and Hyatt’s five star positioning. Throughout our stay, we encountered the following maintenance and cleanliness deficiencies: • Toilet paper holder separating from the wall • Shower wand non functional • Tiles detaching from the plunge pool • Patio furniture cushions severely faded and deteriorating • Patio concrete structure visibly stained and worn Individually, these items were disappointing; collectively, they pointed to a suite in need of substantial maintenance and capital reinvestment rather than one being marketed as a premium accommodation. Most concerning, however, was a persistent and extremely unpleasant odor in the lower level of the suite. The odor was severe enough that we often felt compelled to move quickly through the area to reach the bedroom level, detracting materially from our comfort and enjoyment. This issue alone rendered the lower living space largely unusable and is not something one would reasonably expect at any Hyatt property, let alone in a Penthouse Suite. In addition, food service follow through was inconsistent. On multiple occasions, dinner dishes left in the hallway overnight were still present the following morning—an experience inconsistent with industry standards and the elevated guest experience Hyatt is known for. At checkout, we raised these concerns with the front desk. Unfortunately, the response lacked urgency or ownership, and the only remedy proposed was a nominal offer of Hyatt Points. We clearly communicated that points would not be an appropriate resolution given the nature of the issues and the additional cash expenditure incurred for the upgrade. We were advised that a follow up email containing a compensation proposal would be sent; however, this communication was never received. I would like to emphasize that the staff, dining experiences, and beach offerings were outstanding, and the service provided by your frontline team was warm, professional, and genuinely appreciated. That said, guest rooms—particularly those carrying premium upgrade pricing—are a core component of the overall guest experience. At present, based on our stay, the Penthouse Suite condition aligns more closely with a three star standard or below, rather than the five star experience associated with the Hyatt Ziva brand.
Stayed 5 nights at the Hyatt Ziva and enjoyed each day on the beautiful private beach with cool blue water. Lots of food options, some were hit or miss but overall enjoyed the diversity of options. Blaze is right on the water with amazing sunset views for dinner and morning breakfast. Highlights is a nice mid day lunch bar with great drinks. Alondra and Saira provided A+ service. Beach service was quick and cabana rental was worth the extra money. Overall would highly recommend and will definitely visit again in the future.
Everything was perfect, the staff is exceptional ! Exception… You should have a piano bar or a band at night for the apéro not only at the sport bar where all the kids are at night, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I had a great vacation the Hyatt Ziva. The location is on a wonderful stretch of beach and is very private. My room was wonderful with an ocean view and balcony. The buffet was very good and the staff were tremendous
This hotel is beautiful, clean, and the staff was amazing. The beach is stunning and so nice to swim in - no rocks! The only issue we had was the food. The service was very slow in the specialty restaurants, we received incorrect or missing dishes, and the food was always cold and often bland. This may be due to fewer staff working with regard to the situation in PV two weeks prior. The buffet was great, but not open at night. The only restaurant we enjoyed was the Italian one, but again, the food was cold. The pools are extremely clean - everything at the resort is super clean. The daily entertainment and shows were awesome. Room service food and cabana food was also tasty and hot. If anyone has any food allergies, BE CAREFUL at the buffet. Our son ingested peanuts in a chicken dish at the buffet and lost out on two days of his vacation due to illness. There was no indication that peanuts were in the dish.
Would go back in a heart beat. Gorgeous location, incredible staff, and great food. If your kids arent interested in the beach or pools they might get a little bored. For the younger ones, Kids Club rocked and the staff there was incredible
Great spot for our family vacation. There were activities for all ages would highly recommend. Service was great staff is friendly and helpful.
This place was wonderful! The staff were so accommodating, and the food and restaurants were tasty. The beach is difficult for vendors to reach, so only a few were present, and they were not annoying. The beds are comfortable, and the water in the pools and the ocean is warm. Lots of choices to drink and eat. Watching the sunsets and Pelicans diving for fish were amazing. Our family of 8 adults had a truly memorable and wonderful time. The temperature in March was perfect, not too hot and not too humid.
Very nice people and very good food!
The beach is great - easy access, clean with direct sunset views. Doesn’t seem stuffy but very well put together clean. What impressed us the most was the staff. Everyone was amazing - nothing but praise. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Good water pressure which we love! Close enough to town - highly recommended.
