Hosts ware amazing . Love the location

Breakfast was home made and delicious. The owner and her family were so friendly and helpful. Very close to the beach. I took a tuk tuk to join the Sunday run group in forth. Was not too far away. The room was ok for the price. Its a simple clean and basic room. I loved having to sit and watch the waves as I eat. It is close to a fancy and expensive hotel. Definitely value for money .

Nothing. You get a cheap room with a friendly host. Win win for me. It is not a massive hotel.

До вокзала и центра города всего 10 минут на тук туке. Рядом несколько ресторанов и магазинов. Номер чистый. Пляж с рифом где можно безопасно купаться в 50 метрах.

We had a lovely stay! The host was very kind and always welcomed us with a warm smile. The view is amazing and the beach is calm and perfect for relaxing. We visited over the weekend and enjoyed the live music at the nearby bars, along with great cocktails and food. The host also prepared a takeaway breakfast and delicious coffee for us, which was a really nice touch. Great value for money! 🌞🌊☕

Die Lage ist traumhaft: ruhig und direkt am Strand. Gleichzeitig ist man schnell mit dem Tuktuk in Fort Galle. Die Familie ist ausgesprochen nett und aufmerksam. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Wir würden immer wieder dorthin.

We had a fantastic stay! The breakfast was delicious, and the sea view was absolutely beautiful. Being directly at the beach made it even more special. There were plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby, and this place also had amazing kottu. Highly recommend!

Als Alleinreisende hab ich mich sehr willkommen gefühlt und auch sicher. Der schöne Balkon mit Blick durch die Palmen aufs Meer auf dem gemütlichen Stühlen, war einfach super schön. Ganze Familie ist sehr, sehr nett und herzlich besonders. Die Frauen in der Familie sind super lieb, lustig und sehr nett! schön war auch, dass man so ein bisschen raus aus dem Touristen grummel in Galle ist . Das Frühstück war sensationell.

Super guesthouse, au pied de la mer. Très paisible, et l'hote était très gentille. Le petit déjeuné est top! Proche du fort de galle et c'est un super rapport qualité prix. L'emplacement permet de profiter du cadre superbe au pied de l'eau , en étant proche du fort. Je recommande ++

Lokalizacja świetna. Bramka i jesteś na szerokiej piaszczystej plaży z miejscem do kąpieli. Obok pyszna restauracja. Gospodarze bardzo serdeczni i pomocni. Ogromnym plusem jest możliwość zamówienia domowego jedzenia i napojów. Dla tych którzy chcą poczuć lokalny klimat - miejsce super. Blisko Galle - tuk tuk 500 rupii do centrum miasta.

W mniejszym pokoju brak okna co doskwierało mocno bo w nocy nie było świeżego powietrza. Jeśli ktoś nie chciał spać przy włączonej całą noc klimatyzacji było bardzo gorąco.

It is a quiet place on the beach with a lovely family. I really liked my room which was very spacious and comfortable at this point of my traveling and did not mind too much having to take a transport to go swimming to Hikkaduwa beach, 20 m by bus. They have sunbeds on the beach available anytime which is very enjoyable and 2 restaurants. Almost a private beach. I really felt I could rest there and it was very welcome. I stayed 8 nights. Thank you!

Lovely balcony with a great sea breeze. Amami welcomed us ( her mum currently unwell), served us drinks and breakfast, always happy and smiling and willing to help with transport queries or any questions. Quiet at night and slept with the windows open, no mosquito net over the bed but didn't get one bite. Cost 350-400 SLR for tuk tuk to Galle fort so really easy.

A curtain on the side window would help with the early morning sunshine

Habitación muy amplia con vistas al mar, desayuno abundante y muy rico. Tiene una terraza grande donde es muy agradable escuchar las olas del mar de noche y de día. La familia es muy amable y nos ayudó mucho. La cama es muy cómoda.

El aire acondicionado tiene coste extra y no lo indican en el anuncio. Está un poco apartado del centro pero se llega fácilmente en tuk tuk.

Sehr nette, faniliär geführte Unterkunft! Tolle Lage, direkt am Meer. Wir waren 2 Nächte dort und hatten sowohl das Frühstück, als auch Abendessen in der Unterkunft. Beides lecker und von der Vermieterin zubereitet. Mit dem TukTuk fährt man ca. 10 Minuten bis nach Galle/ Innenstadt. Die älteste Tochter hat uns noch gute Tipps für die Reise gegeben. Wir konnten die Klimaanlage zubuchen. Das war gut. Nachts mussten wir sie jedoch ausschalten, da sie direkt aufs Bett gerichtet ist und uns damit nicht angenehm. Mit offenem Fenster zu schlafen, war aber kein Problem. Authentische Unterkunft und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt!

Ein Fenster des Zimmers hat keinen Vorhang.. Somit wird es früh hell.

We only stayed one night, but it was enough to see how truly kind and welcoming this family is – especially their lovely young daughter, Amami. For us Italians, her name was already a sweet surprise, but her perfect English, warmth, and engaging conversations made it even more special. They treated us to fresh juices and a delicious breakfast, and the highlight was the seaside terrace with loungers and a breathtaking view. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area

I enjoyed every minute with Chatu, Amami and the rest of the family. Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is very clean, the food is delicious and the view of the sea is breathtaking. It's great to be able to sit on the balcony in the evening and listen to the sound of the sea. The homestay also has direct access to the beach. As a woman travelling alone, I felt more than at home here and especially loved Chatu and her older daughter. I wish the family all the best and will certainly come back again one day.

Didnt like at all

I booked a delux double room after reading the reviews and seen the pictures. I was bit dissapointed when I got a small room. Its a basic very small room. Just a bed with a thin matress, one bed side cupboard and small dressing table. Towel rack was just outside the bathroom. Bathroom was clean and in good condition. We requested Sri Lankan Breakfast which  was good. Host is very kind. She asked me to cancel the booking if Im not very happy about the room. But it was heavy raining and I didnt want to take a chance with my young niece to find a nother place. What they have advertised was not there.  The place is under constructions/ renovations.

We are not used to water from the shower being also on the floor surrounding the toilet. This is a minor issue and would not stop us from recommending the place without hesitation.

Wonderful hosts. Wonderful location. Chathu and her daughter Ama were so kind and welcoming. Chathu had us feel as if we were close cousins to her. When we left she hugged my wife with real affection. Ama and I had some interesting conversations about life in general. The location especially with our elevated balcony rooms was very good. It felt like home. The minor isuues were minor only.

It was our causing...but. Unfortunately we had to come to Sri Lanka at the start of the wet season, so it did rain sometimes and the ocean was very rough. We could clearly see the ocean from our balcony but it was not safe to swim. We are not used to having the toilet in the same room as the shower. When we showered the floor all around the toilet was wet and so we walked on wet floor to use the toilet later.

The family hosting you here is a truly precious gem. You’ll find so much of what you’re looking for: traditional food, heartfelt hospitality, authentic local culture… A real Sri Lankan experience with so much care for detail and a genuine desire to make sure you have a wonderful time. They are always available to help, answer any questions, and warmly introduce you to the local language and customs. Staying here feels like being welcomed into a family.

The family that owns this property were the nicest people I’ve met in Sri Lanka. The lady Chathu and her daughter Ama are exceptional, they went out of their way to make my stay welcoming and special . I arrived early at the property and they were happy for me to use their facilities and even bringing me breakfast on the beach. The food at this property is amazing, Chathu is a very experienced chef. The room was stunning extremely clean, it had a refrigerator and a huge ceiling fan, it was in a nice quiet area with beautiful sea views. Ama her daughter was a wonderful and kind person too, just like her mother. She even offered to take me into Galle city and showed me around the Fort, where to take the best sunset pictures on the Fort wall and showed me the best places to eat. Thank you, Ama I really appreciated everything, your kindness and support on my onward journey.

There was nothing at all to dislike about this place. I just wished that I could have stayed longer.

Lucky me! I was their first guest from Canada. This is a lovely family! Chathu is so kind and gives great advice.The rooms are very clean and confortable. The breakfast is amazing . Chathu is a very good cook. It is very calm here and easy to get to Galle fort by tultuk.

The host and the whole family are very welcoming,helpful and they make my stay relaxed and comfortable. I’ve got a welcome drink from fresh fruits and didn’t had to wait for my room to be ready for too long as I arrived before check in. From the terrace I had a beautiful sea view, and there was served my breakfast so could enjoy food and the view in the same time:) I’ve asked for Sri Lankan breakfast and it was delicious and large. The same as dinner I ordered with sea food.Chathu made it perfectly. Thank you Chathu for your hospitality I’ll return to Sri Lanka and spend more time in this beautiful place.

The location is fabulous and the view from our balcony of the beach and sunset is great. The host and her family were all very friendly and chatty. The breakfast every morning was delivered to our balcony and was very tasty and lots of it. There are two very good restaurant/bars next door to the accommodation. the room was very spacious and comfortable.

Although the room was very clean when we first arrived we stayed for 6 nights in total and our room and bathroom were not cleaned once. The towels and bed linen were not changed either. we had to ask to have the bin in our room emptied. Although it does not say there is air conditioning in the room it could really do with it. At night the temperature was still in the high to mid 20s. One of the windows did not have a curtain to keep out the light. So we had to put a sheet from the bed up to keep the light out and for privacy . This meant we could not open the window to let in fresh air.

You get a stunning Sea view and a wide open balcony that you could relax and enjoy some drinks. They share the same beach with Radisson Blue so, the security is great too. Fireworks at night by the Luuma beach restaurant is a bonus. The host is super welcoming and you will love her immediately. It feels like she wants to offer her best possible services. We had to catch a train at early 7 and she, even in the dazzling early hours, managed a TukTuk for us standing in the rain. Even a good friend wouldn’t do that for you at 6 in the morning.

I would say NOTHING. However, if someone lives in a cold country then this place would be a little hot for them. But, that also becomes comfortable after the sunset.

The Sunset Cabana is a wonderful place to stay. It's right on a really nice quiet beach that has about three nice looking restaurants. The room has a very large balcony. The family where very welcoming and made me feel at home straight away. The Breakfast and dinner were delicious. I only stayed one night as I was travelling through but I'll be back for a week next time. It's that special.

Staying at Sunset Cabana was like staying with at home with family. Very friendly family business, right on the beach with a great balcony. Breakfast was enormous and the hosts were generous. They even organised transport back to Colombo at a reasonable rate as I needed to catch a flight on the day of check out.

The room was warm, but a giant ceiling fan was there to help. External gates were locked at night, so best to get their WhatsApp if you know you will be returning late.

The best part about Sunset Cabana are the hosts! Such a welcoming and beautiful family who are ready to help with anything. The breakfast was unbeliavable and obviously made by Mama herself. The room is big and has a stunning view to the ocean and the house is located right on the beach.

AC would be nice, but with the breeze coming from the sea and the ceiling fan, it actually was quite perfect.

It was a fantastic experience staying in Sunset Cabana! You feel welcome from the first moment on. The whole family is very nice and helpful but especially the lady of the house is truly a sunshine. Not only the real sri lankan food she prepares is delicious but also the travel information she gives you, her helping hand in whatever you need, personal advice and talks. The rooms are very clean, the bed comfortable and the view from the terrace is amazing. If there was a rank of 20, we would definetely give it!! Petra & Xavi

From the moment we entered the sunset cabana, I felt the tranqility of this place.I have no hesitation in recommending this place.The owner chathu and his family were very friendly. We felt like family form the moment we arrived.we book in the Small room, but the other room was not booked that day,so we were given that room ,the wood finish in that room is very beautiful. That room is very amazing. Very comfortable .This was the best breakfast i had in sri lanka .we also got dinner from them it was very interesting. From here you can reach galle in 10 minutes .If i am in galle when i return to sri lanka this will undoubtedly be my first choice of accommodation.The hugs on our way out were a delight to our hearts . I would 100% recommend this.

good beach and sea view

Without a doubt the view! We were staying in the deluxe double bedroom and the view was mesmerizing. You are directly at the ocean front between palm trees and banana plants.

As a European we have difficulties adjusting to the weather. As the room doesn‘t have air conditioning. But that was just a small issue compared to all the benefits of the accommodation.

I can't express how happy I was with my stay. The host is amazing, she is so kind and welcoming. Her whole family were an amazing host. She made sure I had the best time there. The view was perfect along with the effort she took to prepare an elaborate srilankan breakfast. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Galle must stay here. You get the amazing host, amazing room with a view and a private-ish beach to your self.

The rooms are beautiful and have a lots of space on the balcony! You have an amazing view from the balcony to the ocean. Just down the stairs through the door, you are able to enter the beach. It’s peaceful and quiet, you do not hear anything from the street. What makes this place special is the family that is hosting you. A lovely, heartwarming, helpful and amazing family is taking care of you. Prepping you delicious and fresh breakfast, yummy dinners are available too! It’s a place being managed from the heart <3

The property is located on the beach. My room was ocean facing and I could see and hear waves all day. I could just walk into the beach anytime. The restaurant right next to the property was really good. The host was very helpful and friendly.

Bathroom needed cleaning.No hot shower. The wi fi didn’t work

Run by a young family, you feel at home from the first moment. The reception, characterized by warmth. Just like every other moment. No wish remains hidden. They know what the guest needs. A breakfast that makes the heart beat faster. Something different every day. This can be confirmed after 5 days of stay. I thank you for the help. I had to see a doctor several times because of an injury. Dear Chatu & family, I wish you many more lovely guests. Keep it up!

The family that runs the place are amazing, so very kind and helpful with everything. The location is great, right next to a lovely beach and only a quick tuk tuk ride into town. The rooms are clean with a comfortable big bed. I really enjoyed my time here and will be returning in the future. Thank you so much for everything.

The room is really nice and has a fridge with freezer, a closet, and nice bathroom. The hosts are really lovely. The beach is beautiful and clean. The view is breathtaking and the breakfast is good :)

The location is nice, both rooms have ocean view and you only have to go a few steps to reach the beach, but unfortunately the waves are too high and it is not safe to swim there. The host was very kind, the local breakfast was tasty. It is not far from Galle city, you can even walk down there.

The fan was quite noisy, the bed did not have a mosquito net, there were no comfortable sunbeds on the beach, the breaksfast was the same each morning (except for the fruits and juice).

A very cozy place, the room is large and comfortable with a nice bed and beautiful views (especially sunsets). Very tasty breakfasts, wonderful terrace! And the most beautiful thing about this place are the hosts – Chattu and her family! They are very hospitable, caring and lovely, we felt safe and warm as at home! Thank you very much! We spent a wonderful 9 days in this place and highly recommend it!

Wonderfull time spent in Chathu's home. We had a beautiful, quiet room with a very comfortable big bed and stylish wooden furniture, spacious en suite bathroom . Everything bright and clean. We enjoyed stunning view from the balcony , while sipping the afternoon tea . The owner was cooking for us traditional local food and we liked every meal. The house is located literally on the beach. The beach was thoroughly cleaned every morning!
