20/20 wood cabana

In sri lanka abbiamo incontrato sempre persone gentili e disponibili ma la signora che gestisce questa struttura insieme al figlio supera davvero tutti. La sua accoglienza è cortesia ci ha fatto sentire a casa. Abbiamo prenotato all'ultimo e ci siamo fermati solo una notte ma siamo stati davvero bene. Le camere erano pulite e spaziose, il letto comodo e le coperte calde (Nuwara Eliya è davvero fredda!). All'arrivo ci è stato offerto un té caldo c9n biscotti, molto gradito. Abbiamo anche cenato e direi che è stata forse la miglior cena di tutto il viaggio: le pietanze erano davvero ottime, poco piccanti come avevamo chiesto e molto abbondanti. La signora ci ha chiesto più volte se era tutto a posto e se volevamo altro, davvero con grande attenzione e cura per i propri ospiti. Alla mattina dovevamo uscire presto per prendere il treno per Ella ma ci ha comunque preparato caffè e té e un'ottima colazione take away ( che in realtà noi poi abbiamo mangiato a pranzo!). Consiglio davvero questa sistemazione sia per la bellezza e la pulizia delle camere sia per il calore e l'ospitalità dei proprietari.

Unico neo, non siamo riusciti a far funzionare l'acqua calda, ma non abbiamo chiesto aiuto... può essere quindi che non abbiamo capito bene noi come girare correttamente i rubinetti nella doccia.

La cabaña es preciosa, todo estaba súper limpio, nos sentimos como en casa. La madre es un encanto, y una cocinera excepcional, y el hijo es otro encanto! Nos ayudó con todo! Son gente súper cercana! Sin duda alguna, si vuelvo a nuwara eliya volvería a alojarme con ellos. Si vais, haced la clase de cocina!

Personal PERFECTE molt atent i amable sense agobiar. Ens van preparar el te més bo que he provat a Sri Lanka aquests dies. L'habitació gran, molt neta i agradable. Llit gran. Com havíem de marxar aviat, ens van preparar esmorzar per endur, molt bo i molta quantitat.

Nous avons moins apprécié : * La porte de la salle de bain/toilettes qui ne fermait pas * La difficulté à comprendre comment utiliser l’eau chaude

Uno de los mejores lugares en los que he estado en Sri Lanka. No te pierdas la clase de cocina que ofrecen. Una de las mejoras cosas que he hecho en Sri Lanka.

Very friendly and lovely mother & son duo. The son picked us up from the bus station and provided us all the information we needed for a nice stay. The room was very clean and decorated with a lot of attention to detail. Hot shower. :) we had an amazing dinner homecooked by the mother, probably the best food we had at a homestay so far! Breakfast was very delicious too with a lot of variety. Thank you so much for having us! Ps: the famous mother’s leap waterfall is just a short beautiful hike (25 min) away from the cabana! :)

In case you need it: there’s no mosquito net. We didn’t mind it since there didn’t seem to be a lot of mosquitoes around.

The great service and the food. The owners of the hotel are very welcoming and try to make your experience wonderful.

I was made to feel very welcome by Kumari who is an example of a good human being. On arrival I was given a coffee and this level of hospitality continued. I had dinner each night which was local food and it was absolutely lovely. The kindness and warmth I felt here was exceptional. It was for these reasons I didn't want to leave. I recommend this property. It is a short tuk tuk journey into town. Thanks for such a memorable stay ❤️

Ci siamo trovati benissimo. Struttura molto bella, arredata con personalità, poco lontana dal centro (raggiungibile in Tuk tuk). È gestita da mamma e figlio, molto accoglienti e disponibili. Non ci hanno fatto mancare nulla. Consiglio di raggiungere le cascate vicine. Assolutamente da provare la cooking class con la mamma, un'occasione unica per imparare a preparare il cibo singalese più autentico. Nonostante non parlasse bene inglese, sono state delle ore molto significative in termini positivi per il mio viaggio. Il figlio il giorno dopo si è assicurato che riuscissimo a comprare i biglietti del treno per Ella, accompagnandoci alla stazione.

Super lieve mensen, heerlijk eten en ze zorgen dat je gebracht wordt naar plekken die je wilt bezoeken. Achter het huis is Lovers leap waterval dus die kan je lopend doen.

Wifi was iets minder goed.

La cabana està molt bé i rls propietaris son maquíssims, però vam passar fred a la nit. Haurien de posar mantes o algun calefactor.

Personnel très sympathique et adorable. Beaucoup de belles attentions à notre égard à commencer par l’accueil. L’hôte propose un tour dans Eliya (visite d’une usine de thé, bâtiments britanniques …) Le logement est très mignon et a un charme avec ces structures en bois et ces décorations.

The family was incredibly kind, the food was fantastic, and they made everything so easy for us. We highly recommend having dinner there!

The internet connection wasn’t always very good, but that was only a minor issue for us.

Die Cabin ist ganz niedlich und der Gastgeber freundlich!

Leider hat uns das Bett mit den jeweiligen Decken und Kissen nicht überzeugt. Es gab kein richtiges Bettlaken und die Decke hat sich ständig verschoben, sodass man auf der Matraze lag. Ich denke das Frühstück sollte lieber vor der Hütte stattfinden, da der Raum im Haus etwas trist und dunkel ist.

Tout était parfait.

This was one of the best stays in Nuwara Eliya, our host Aravinda went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Now the food, his mum does all the cooking and by God this lady can cook👌 My son normally doesn't comment much on food but he just couldn't help saying it was tasty 😋 We truly has a wonderful 2days stay at 2020 Wood Cabana and we will definitely be back again👈

Een hele schattige cabana. Alles was super schoon. De eigenaren waren ook heel aardig en behulpzaam! We hebben een kookles gedaan, wat echt super lekker en leerzaam was!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft, Zimmer war sehr sauber und das Bett sehr gemütlich. Es gab warmes Wasser zum Duschen und warme Decken. Der Besitzer und seine Mutter sind ganz herzliche Menschen, sehr freundlich und bemüht! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es gibt verschiedene Angebote der Unterkunft, zum Beispiel hat uns der Vermieter für kleines Geld von der Bahnstation abgeholt und für 1500 Rupien gibt es auch sehr köstliches Reis und Curry, gekocht von seiner Mutter! Er hat uns kostenlos zu unserem Bus gebracht! Es hätte auch die Möglichkeit einer Teetour gegeben, die haben wir zwar nicht in Anspruch genommen, da wir schon eine hatten, aber wäre sicher auch toll geworden, da er auch gut Englisch spricht. Große Empfehlung!

WLAN war zeitweise etwas schwach, aber das war nur zum Arbeiten etwas schwierig, für alles andere kein Problem. Sonst war alles toll, ganz große Empfehlung, ich würde jederzeit wieder hin.

We stayed for 2 nights in the 2020 Wood Cabana and loved it! The room was very clean, comfortable, and featured lovely exotic decorations. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the hearty breakfast 🥞. The location is convenient—not too far from the center. We highly recommend the 2020 Wood Cabana!

We loved this place and felt so lucky to have found it. It is absolutely immaculately clean, the facilities are wonderful and our cabana was spacious with a wonderful views from the mezzanine balcony. Set in its own private garden with its own entrance makes it like a best kept secret. Very close to lover's leap waterfall which is a nice walk.Our hosts were fantastic, it felt like you were at home. We had a home cooked meal that was probably the best we've had in sri lanka with huge portions. Breakfast was equally as good. We were so appreciative of our hosts help getting us onto the train to Ella. Can't recommend this wonderful place enough.

It was amazing! The location, landscaping, chalet structure, and the mezzanine setup was thoroughly enjoyable. Staff were kind, prompt and very friendly. I see myself visiting here again and again!

Nothing I strongly disliked, but I will suggest toiletries and vanity kit to support guests as the property gains more popularity.

L’accueil était très certainement l’un des plus chaleureux Ara et son adorable maman sont d’une gentillesse rare Ara est très disponible et en 2 temps 3 mouvements il m’a trouvé un driver pour aller à Horton plains qui se trouve à 1 heure de route

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer ist einfach gehalten, aber es war alles sehr sauber und für die eine Nacht die wir da waren vollkommen ausreichend. Wir wurden auch sehr nett empfangen. Es wurde uns auch ein Transport von Kandy nach Nuwara Eliya organisiert. Wir hatten auch den Kochkurs gebucht mit der Mutter des Besitzers, das hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, sie war richtig lieb und man halt viel gelernt. Es hat alles fantastisch geschmeckt. Auch das Frühstück war lecker und reichhaltig. Wir wurden dann auch sehr nett verabschiedet. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

I travelled Sri Lanka for a month and this was my favourite stay. Cabin is totally self contained but next to the home of a most lovely mum and son so it was like the best of both worlds - privacy combined with home stay feeling. Had dinner both nights in their home and it was also my favourite meal, so delicious and cooked with love and care. Really super cute cabin too with upstairs and downstairs beds.

I stayed in Nuwara Eliya for one night and they looked after me really well!

We were a group of 4 and one room was spacious and nice but the other very small and not great. The hosts are lovely and really want to do anything they can which is so nice.

Pillows hard and sheets are fleece which are used in NE but not nice. The host did give us a cotton sheet. The small room has a small bed for 2 adults.

Individual cabins each with a pretty garden and outside seating area. Comfy bed, great breakfast and extremely kind, helpful hosts who made us a packed breakfast when we did an early walk to Worlds End

A fair walk to the centre of town although a restaurant just down the lane and curry available at home stay A small heater for cold evenings would be a good addition, though lovely warm blankets provided for night time

We had a wonderful stay here with Ara and his mother as our hosts. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive. We contacted him before arriving in Sri Lanka to arrange our transfers. He came to pick us up at Ambewela railway station when we arrived by train form Ella (end of the line because of the cyclone Ditwah). On our departing day he also drove us to Sigiriya with a stop in Kandy along the way. Before being a host he was a Tuktuk driver, so one morning he took us to visit a tea plantation with his tuktuk. We really appreciated the delicious (and abundant) breakfast and dinner prepared by his mother. The room was nice and cozy, and with the blankets provided we didn't feel cold at night. Highly recommended!

La cabaña es muy bonita y la familia que lo lleva es super amable. Hicimos un tour con Arah y la clase de cocina con su madre. Todo perfecto y muy agradecidas por el disposición en todo momento por ayudar.

Puntualmente no salía agua caliente, pero se sobrelleva bien.

Nuestra estancia fue muy agradable. La habitación era amplia y estaba muy limpia. La familia que gestiona el alojamiento es muy amable, cálida y siempre dispuesta a ayudar. Además, ofrecen muchas facilidades para desayunar y comer allí mismo, y todo estaba muy rico. También tuvimos la comodidad de que nos ayudaran con el traslado desde la estación, lo cual fue un detalle muy apreciado. Sin duda, un lugar muy recomendable por el trato cercano y el cuidado en todos los detalles.

Petite cabane avec sa petite terrasse fleurie. La dame et son fils sont d'une gentillesse, ils sont attachants. Les repas sont excellents. Très belle adresse et des personnes dont on se souviendra.

Un peu éloigné de la ville

Ara and mama as we called her (I wish she was my mama) could not do enough for us, and the welcome hugs were amazing. Great property, very clean, fantastic value for money and close to the town. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the food just kept coming. Would wholly recommend this place.

First night was great second night a dog down the road barked alot.. but you can't do anything about that.

We had a wonderful stay at 20/20 Wood Cabana in Nuwara Eliya. The room was very cozy, with carefully chosen details that made it feel warm and welcoming. We especially appreciated the heavy blankets provided for the evening when the weather gets cooler, as well as the hair dryer available in the room. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they truly made us feel at home. Their hospitality made us wish we could have stayed a few more nights. We also joined the tuk-tuk tour with Ara, which was a fantastic experience and allowed us to discover many beautiful places around Nuwara Eliya. It made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommended!

La gentillesse de l’hôte avec ses filles lors de l’accueil, le cours de cuisine qu’on a ensuite mangé le soir c’était EXCELLENT, son fils nous a conduit à la gare d’Ambewela pour prendre le train et nous a aidé à prendre les billets ! En plus, elle nous avait fait un sac avec notre petit déjeuner pour le train Je ne peux que vous recommander d’y aller !

Prévoir de quoi se couvrir , nous sommes dans les montagnes il ne fait pas chaud la nuit :)

Het ontvangst door de familie was zeer hartelijk. De kamer is ruim en voorzien van alle gemakken. Je ziet dat er veel liefde en aandacht in gestoken is. We hebben samen met de moeder des huize gekookt. Heel leuk om te doen en t was heerlijk! Ontbijt is goed en ruim voldoende. Loversleap waterval is te voetblessure doen, zo ook t centrum van Nuwara Eliya

We’ve had one of the best stays here!!!! The host was so incredibly nice, we instantly felt like part of the family. Her son gave us a spontaneous tour through the tea plantations and in the evening we took a cooking class with the host. The food was just incredible and I’m so happy she shared our knowledge with us. We had enough blankets for the night and an amazing hot shower. I will always remember the warmth we were given! Kylie the cat was also super cute 😆

Een echte homestay waar je met veel warmte ontvangen wordt. Ara Silva hielp ons met alles wat we nodig hadden. Zijn mama maakt een heerlijk ontbijt (indien nodig verpakt om mee te nemen als je vroeg naar het NP gaat) en avondeten (aanrader!). Ik had laten weten dat mijn vriend jarig was en bij aankomst stond er een gepersonaliseerde taart en thee op ons te wachten! Heel lieve mensen en ideale plek voor een kort verblijf in Nuwara Eliya.

Ontzettend aardige dames en een goed ontvangst. Breakfast uitstekend. Genoeg dikke dekens voor een koude nacht.

De kamer was klein en bedompt. De ruimte was erg vochtig. De douche had geen warm water. Wel goed om de brandveiligheid nog eens te checken.

Die Besitzerin war sehr nett und für alles gesorgt… eine sehr herzliche Person.

Es war nicht isoliert, demnach war es ist der Nacht sehr sehr kalt.

The place itself is very nice and cozy, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We especially appreciated the delicious breakfast in the morning. What really made our stay unforgettable, though, was the genuine kindness and hospitality we received. We truly felt welcomed and taken care of. Highly recommended!

Leuke host en grappig huisje.

De lokatie, tussen betonnen muren in een ghetto. Het wood principe is zover doorgevoerd dat buiten zitten op houten palen moet. Niet comfortabel, een paar normale stoelen zou een grote verbetering zijn. Het zogenaamde uitzicht kan alleen als je een raar smal trappetje opgaat naar een ongebruikt zoldertje waar een normaal mens niet kan staan. Dan het zogenaamde terras op om over de betonnen muur te kunnen kijken naar…… het ghetto met daar ver achter wat groen en de bergen. Chapeau voor de fotograaf👏

Really cosy cabin style room a short walk into the centre of town. Both the owner and his mother were so welcoming, breakfast and dinner was delicious. We even were recommended and booked onto a tuk tuk tour which was 10/10.

Wir wurden sehr warmherzig mit einem leckeren Tee und Kecksen empfangen. Unser Zimmer war mit allem nötigen ausgestattet. Es gab ein geräumiges Bad mit einer heißen Dusche und für die kälteren Temperaturen zur Nacht waren ausreichend Decken im Bett zur Verfügung. Am nächsten Morgen mussten wir sehr früh abreisen und bekamen ein sehr leckeres und ausgiebiges Frühstück to go.

Die Entfernung zum Zentrum ist eventuell etwas zu weit.

Après 7 jours au Sri lanka, meilleure expérience en termes de qualité prix. Très propre, accueillant, proche des cultures de legume, jolie vue. Cabane très qualitative. Pour finir, excellent dîner et petit déjeuner Merci beaucoup et bonne continuation

The hospitality was next level! We ordered dinner easily through WhatsApp and were invited into the home to eat. We got the chicken curry for dinner and the portion sizes were huge and absolutely delicious. Also organised our taxi to Ambewela in the morning for the train to Ella which was so helpful. The room itself was spacious with water, tea, coffee and hot water on offer, plus you can see lovers leap from the window. 10/10
