Sigiriya River Side Resort

El desayuno y la familia tan amable. No hay piscina pero puedes usar la del alojamiento de al lado por 1.200 rupias. Camas cómodas. Hay bares para comer y tomar una cerveza al lado. Y ver atardecer de lion rock en 15min andando.

Creo que nos tocó la habitacion mas vieja, y necesita un mantenimiento. Revisando las fotos creo que son las ultimas . Las primeras es la villa nueva. . El baño está muy viejo en general. Habia un par de mosquitos aplastados en la pared tambien. Las ventanas no cierran y nos entró un mini escorpión un escarabajo y una salamandra. (Aunq estos otros no hacen daño. El miniescopion lo matamos directamente no lo cojo y lanzo a la hierba ni loca) El aire acondicionado estaba sujetado con cinta, también era imposible dormir con él encendido aun con tapones puestos por el ruido tan fuerte que metía. Aun asi hay ventilador en el techo el cual tb mete bastante ruido para dormir y yo al menos necesitaba tapones. Pasamos 3 noches y me fijé nuevamente en los precios generales de la zona por curiosidad del alojamiento de enfrente y la villa nueva que tienen estaba al mismo precio que habiamos pagado por la habita básica. O la nuestra a mitad. Pero bueno. Como anécdota. Recuerda. Con la lluvia salen muchos bichitos. Pero es la selva... Volvería. Pero a la villa nueva

Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und schön hoch auf Stelzen. Die Lage war super ruhig und das Frühstück lecker und abwechslungsreich. Das personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Am 3. Tag sollten wir plötzlich für den pool zahlen, aber das wurde dan doch zurück gezogen. Der Pool gehört anscheinend zu einem anderen Hotel.

Fijn personeel. Er is ook ten alle tijden een (gratis) tuktuk beschikbaar voor kleine afstanden. Kamers zijn ook mooi groot.

Het resort lijkt een beetje rommelig.

El desayuno exquisito, la piscina genial y el personas super buen rollo. Estamos super contentos de haber estado allí, de hecho nos quedamos una noche más porque estábamos muy cómodos y felices.

El jardin con la piscina y el bar son super. Teniamos las habitaciones de planta baja y fue super cómodo. El desayuno y la comida del restaurante muy bien también. Los zumos de los mejores y el trato de Mandu excepcional. Nos ayudó en todo.

Como muchos de los alojamientos de esta calidad-precio el baño es justito.

Un tuktuk est disponible à tout moment pour les clients, le personnel est très à l’écoute et toujours de bon conseil ! Ils nous ont proposé de superbes activités dont le safari a Minneriya (où nous avons pu voir une centaine d’éléphants). La piscine est exceptionnelle, le cadre est très relaxant, nous recommandons très fortement ce logement 🙂

A great place to stay with the loveliest staff. We had a great welcome and they were friendly & helpful throughout the whole stay, organising our safari, tuk tuks & onward travel. They also offered a complimentary tuk tuk to the nearby restaurants etc. The rooms were comfy, breakfast good and it was lovely to have the pool which was clean & well maintained and in a lovely setting. Would definitely stay again.

Está muy muy bien ubicado, tranquilo, el personal, como en todo Sri Lanka, muy amable, desayuno muy rico, un placer la piscina y cerca de restaurantes andando. A cinco minutos de la Roca de León :)

The property suffered a power cut, so we was delayed in getting ready to leave the property. We was also meant to get breakfast but we was treated poorly by the owners son and was essentially told to hurry up and get out the property in order to have the breakfast we paid for. We didn't get the breakfast in the end as we felt disrespected and rushed from the property due to a power cut that delayed us getting ready (the shower and lights didn't work)

Estuvimos 3 noches y lo único que diría es es que no limpiaban todos los días la habitación y había que pedir el cambio de toallas ,solo ponían el primer día agua y un bote de gel y champú pequeñísimo

Pti dej et piscine a peu près correct, malgré le fait qu elle soit trouble. En lisant les commentaires j ai vraiment l impression de ne pas avoir été ds le même resort que ceux qui ont noté positivement !

Tellement de choses.. l odeur ds la salle de bain, le pomeau de douche, les grenouilles et cafards ds la salle de bain, chambre basique, SdB Tellement vieillotte! Dans la chambre 1 lampe de chevet sans ampoule, et pas avec le bon embout pr la brancher. Piscine trouble, sans moteur, quasi 1h d attente au pti dej si y a du monde. L état de crasse de notre 'salon de jardin' jamais 1 coup d éponge, idem sur les transats de piscine. L envers du decor : des débris partout autour dehors. Le personnel très occupé sur smartphone alors qu il y avait tellement à faire ! Ai demandé 1 café soluble à 15h30, je l ai eu à 18h30. Riviere au bout du jardin, certes, ms 1 peu crado et avec varan. Plein de petits détails, ms mis bout a bout, on était contents de repartir !

Un lloc autèntic enmig de la jungla; només veus palmeres i cocos. Un lloc tranquil per gaudir de qualsevol manera, i molt a prop de la Roca del Lleó (ni 5 minuts en tuk-tuk). El servei de restaurant excel·lent, i el menjar boníssim. Els treballadors han sigut molt amables. Hi tornaré sense dubte.

The accommodation was lovely and the location was great, very peacful with a lovely terrace where you could sit and enjoy the vibe. The family hosting us were super lovely and kind as well. But the best part of our stay was the food! Even after two more weeks of travelling and trying out different food, the breakfasts we had there were the best. The family also runs a small restaurant nearby where we had the best chicken kottu ever!! And I have tried MANY chicken kottus since. Overall, a wonderful place, and a wonderful family that runs it. Our favourite accommodation of the trip 😊

Les hôtes étaient extrêmement gentil très accueillant et arrangeant.

Il y avait énormément de bruit tous les matins nous avons étaient réveillé soit par des gens qui criaient en bas de notre chambre soit pas une musique mise extrêmement forte pendant plus d’une heure en dessous.

La chambre est confortable et le cadre au milieu de la jungle est très apaisant. Les petits déjeuners sont excellents. Le logement est très bien situé par rapport aux sites touristiques du coin et il y a plein de bons restaurants juste à côté

Todo bien. La piscina, muy oportuna.

Nada. A veces se cuelan bichiloos en la habitación, pero es normal por la zona en la que está el hotel.

Super aardige mensen en heel fijn zwembad!

Nice place and personnel. Several own tuktuks to take you to town. Okay rooms and cottages. Breakfast and dinner are fine. They are expanding with cottages so there is some work going on, so some materials laying around but not disturbing.

Aircos old and bit noisy. Rooms interiour basic and a bit outdated, but just as is in Sri Lanka outbacks.

Très bel emplacement au calme. Personnel très aidant pour organiser simplement les visites aux alentours.

La qualité est en rapport avec le prix. Les gens sont très gentils, le petit déjeuné est correcte. L’enceinte mériterait d’être plus entretenu mais pour le prix rien à redire.

Au premier abord, l’établissement semble un peu de bric et de broc, mais on s’y sent très vite à l’aise. Il bénéficie d’un excellent emplacement, à proximité des restaurants de la rue. Le personnel et le patron sont très sympathiques et toujours de bonne humeur. Nous étions deux adultes et trois adolescents : la chambre familiale a un côté un peu spartiate mais offre un excellent rapport qualité-prix. La piscine, nichée dans un cadre tropical verdoyant, est absolument idéale après une journée de visites et de randonnée. Le petit-déjeuner au top

La cama y la calma del lugar

Nette kamer met prima bed zeker voor deze prijs. Lekker ontbijt.

Ze waren de trap aan het verbouwen, waardoor het spannend was om de trap op en af te gaan. De pubers hadden hier geen last van.

La famille qui tient cette homestay est très chaleureuse. Nous avons fait un cours de cuisine avec la mère et sa fille. Un délicieux rice and curry. La famille a organisé toute nos sorties avec gentillesse. Chambre familiale spacieuse et bien équipée.

Deze locatie was echt fantastisch. Prima kamer, mooi zwembad de sfeer is heel relaxed en er is heel veel te doen in de omgeving. Ze kunnen hier alles uitstapjes voor je organiseren. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk. En wat een lekker ontbijtjes hebben we gekregen. We zijn erg verwend. Een top locatie

Er was niet iets wat ons niet beviel.

The location is convenient for the visits, the pool was useful to stay cool. The host gave us good advices for the safari and the visit to Sigiriya rock.

Gospodarz miły i pomocny. Zorganizował nam w dobrej cenie przejazd do Pidurangala Rock. Bardzo smaczne śniadania. Klimatyczne i zadbane miejsce. Do dyspozycji gości jest lodówka. Byliśmy w pokoju trzyosobowym na piętrze oraz dwuosobowym na parterze.

Hele fijne rustige plek, een goed zwembad en vriendelijk personeel. De kamers waren schoon en ruim.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming family-run resort. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The location was great, with plenty of restaurants just a short walk away. Breakfast was a real highlight—fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions each morning. We would happily stay here again.

La piscina

L’habitacio tenia 3 finestres grans tapades per una cortina que deixaba molts espais oberts a l’exterior donant poca sensació de privadesa. L’aire acondicionat es parava i el comandament no funcionava be. El bany podria estar una mica millor cuidat i reformat.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Indika (le propriétaire des lieux), qui a pas mal d'années d'expérience dans l'hébergement. Il nous a organisé un safari avec un chauffeur/guide (Tarranga), bien sympa et connaisseur des animaux. Indika lui même n'a pas hésité non plus à nous assurer 2 ou 3 trajets pour le rocher du Lion ou pour le resto du soir. Sa femme (Hansi) est elle aussi très sympa et fort serviable. PS: nous avons aussi eu droit à profiter de la piscine voisine... Bien agréable... Merci beaucoup pour ce petit séjour !

Pas très grave... Mais des petits réglages ou réparations pourront être faites, par exemple : : seulement de l'eau très chaude pour la douche, le ventilateur est difficile à régler, lunettes des toilettes cassée, etc. Des petites choses que nous avons signalées ;-)

La ubicación era muy buena, se podía llegar andando a toda la zona de comidas. Por otra parte la piscina era un 10. Limpia, tranquila, y perfecta para pasar un rato. El personal también fue muy amable y atento en todo momento, nos consiguieron un safari de ultimo segundo que estuvo genial y estuvieron dispuestos a ayudarnos en todo momento.

Nada en concreto. Pero por mencionar el wifi no llegaba bien a la habitación que nos toco (era la mas lejana de la zona común).

Die Anlage ist schön und der Pool war sehr erfrischend. Mein Sohn hat es sehr genossen, dass es ein paar Meter weiter einen Bach gab, in dem er Fische sehen konnte. Das Essen war lecker.

Das Zimmer war nicht ganz so schön wie auf den Fotos, der Wasserhahn spritze stark in alle Richtungen. Die fehlende Glühbirne wurde nach 3maligen Nachfragen eingesetzt. Der Pool kann offenbar gegen Bezahlung auch von Gästen aus den Nachbarhäusern genutzt werden, daher waren die Liegen am Pool häufig belegt.

Super aardige mensen, lekker eten en prima zwembad

De bovenste familiekamer is later bijgebouwd en dan vooral met spaanplaat. Kwam allemaal een beetje krakkemikkig over. Niet zoals op de foto’s van Booking zeg maar. Je kunt beter beneden zitten.

La proximité des restaurants, des attractions de la ville (rocher du lion, Pidurangala), la piscine super agréable et le fait qu’il y ait plein de transats avec matelas et les serviettes de piscine fournie et qu’on peut y aller to un le temps. Le service aussi de laverie (un peu cher: 700LKR/kg mais c’est propre et le linge sent bon). Le prix de la chambre qui est modeste. Le petit déjeuner même s’il est bcp trop copieux.

Le fait que des animaux (petites grenouilles) s’invitent dans la salle de bain. Peu de prises électriques. Le fait que les rideaux ne sont pas occultants ce qui fait qu’on était réveillées très tôt outre la mauvaise insonorisation des lieux. On ne peut payer qu’en cash ce qui n’est quand même pas le meilleur moyen de paiement d’autant plus quand on reste 6 nuits.

Superbe resort bien entretenu Personnel souriant et arrangeant. On nous a prêté un adaptateur et offert des bananes lors de notre départ

C'était parfait, manque un petit frigo dans la location pour avoir 10

Tiene restaurante dentro del resort y es bastante cómodo si no queréis salir aunque tienes a 3 minutos en tuktuk muchos sitios para comer/cenar. La piscina muy limpia y el desayuno bastante bueno. Si te quieres tomar algo puedes pedirlo en el restaurante.

The room was very stuffy with a strong smell of damp and no natural. Light due to lack of windows, the mosquito net was unclean and the sheets also smelled of damp and the toilet seat had old mildew . There were ongoing building works, so the hotel wasn't fully finished which made us feel a bit out of place. The area is beautiful with great access to local restaurants, and the pool was beautiful and well kept.

Alles was goed

Chambre confortable entourée de verdure, avec terrasse. Rice & curry excellent, petit dej local et copieux. Des bons conseils pour des activités : safari à Minneriya avec un guide très gentil, pour le bus, pour la circulation nocturne plus sûre en tuk tuk car il peut y avoir des éléphants sauvages… et c’est vrai car on en a vus !! la piscine de l’hôtel voisin est accessible pour quelques roupies et en plus un fish spa gratuit dans la petite rivière, parfait !

Es waren Gekkos im Zimmer, auch Ameisen nach dem Duschen.

Sehr schöne angelegte Anlage, gepflegter Pool, sehr nette und fürsorgliche Gastgeber, kostenloses Tuktuk ins Ortszentrum und gutes Frühstück - alles bestens.

Excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. There are also several good restaurants nearby.

If you're staying outside Sigiriya, you'll need to take a tuk-tuk or arrange a private shuttle to get to the property. The only minor downside was that there wasn't a hairdryer in the room.

תמורה טובה ביחס למחיר, שירות אדיב, ארוחת בוקר חמודה, בקתה עם מזגן.

מעט מרוחק יש ללכת ברגל או טוק טוק למסעדות. היה נחמד לו היה פח בחדר ומגב במקלחת. יש שם דוש עם השירותים יחד באותו מפלס וללא שום הפרדה. זו בקתה טובה ביחס למחיר אבל לא לצפות למשהו מעבר לכך.

We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place 100%. The kindness and hospitality of the hosts are something we will always remember. Everything was spotless, and the location is fantastic. They made us feel truly welcome and gave us the opportunity to experience the local culture in a very genuine and personal way. The perfect place to stay in Sigiriya. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with purchases safari tours. The breakfast was excellent. It consisted of juice, eggs, toast, pancakes, and fruit. We also had an evening meal which again was very tasty. The Resort is a short walk to many other cafes and restaurants. Perfect location to visit Lion Rock and Safaris. There is a lovely swimming pool. Also, a small creek runs through property, which is full of ' Dr Fish ' to nibble at your feet. Very relaxing. Can definitely recommend. You will be given a great welcome. Thank you Sigiriya River Side Resort.

We had a wonderful four-night stay at this homestay in Sigiriya. The owners, Oulu, Ashen, and Hansi, were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The room was spotlessly clean, incredibly quiet, and very peaceful, allowing us to relax completely after each day of exploring. The location was also excellent—beautiful, tranquil, and conveniently close to the main attractions. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Sigiriya. We will certainly come back on our next trip!

The host Mandu he is very nice and helpfull. The food was also good.

The rooms were not what we expected. We had one electricity socket. Mandu gave us an extra extension socket luckely. The price is to much for a cold shower, a bedlamp without lampbowl and socket. Hilarisch actually.. plastic doors and a bedstand was an old plastic refrigiator not working of course. The smell was Moldavië
