Lovely host, charming. Beautifully restored Victorian house. Amazing sea view, high above Cork harbour.

We Loved everything, and we got our steps in.

This is an absolutely incredible property, and the host Mary was a pleasure to interact with. It is a historic home that was built for Queen Victoria’s visit to Cobh, and is filled with gorgeous antiques and very stylishly decorated. I stayed in one of the two sea view rooms - waking up and looking out and smelling the sea air was something I will never forget.

Only minor complaints are the towels smelled a bit mildewy, and the plaster on the bathroom ceiling was peeling quite a bit. But honestly I would still stay here again in a heartbeat, these were definitely nowhere near enough to outweigh the positives.

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen in ein urgemütliches wunderschönes Haus mit Geschichte mitten im Zentrum. Vom Zimmer aus blickten wir auf Spike Island. Am Morgen wurden wir mit frischen Croissant und Marmelade verwöhnt.

Zu den ganztägig kostenlosen Parkplätzen ist es ziemlich weit, aber abends/nachts kann man vor dem Haus kostenlos parken.

Seaside location. Easy parking. Great communication. Very comfortable quiet room with lovely linen. Kitchenette was a bonus. Shower hot and strong.

I had the garden room, through the house then through the garden which is lovely, very private and very peaceful. A small kitchenette hidden in a crafty and beautiful cabinet. Not a lot of room for a suitcase and in my opinion suitable only for a solo traveler. Mary is a congenial and helpful host.

Very good location. Welcomed very nicely. Comfy cosy room. Even had a fresh croissant made for us in the morning. The accommodation has a lift to carry suitcases up the stairs

Mary & Michael were wonderful hosts. The location is perfect—10 minute walk from train and only minutes from town center. Beautiful view! They were kind and allowed me to store luggage for a few hours while I enjoyed my last hours in Cobh. Mary provided excellent recommendations for food & pub!

Steps up to fourth floor but I was aware of that when I booked! The room and view was worth the steps!! I was pleased there was a small elevator to take luggage up part way.

Loved the location of this accommodation. Within walking distance of the train station, restaurants and bars. We were greeted by Mary who was so friendly. She gave us plenty of tips for things to do and where to eat. Our room was spacious with a fantastic view of the sea and a Cruise ship that was there the day we arrived. Mary left a basket of fresh, warm croissants with jam for us the next morning and we had access to a coffee machine. I would highly recommend West Beach House. Thank you Mary for your hospitality ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mary and Michael were so very lovely! We only stayed one night but they were very accommodating of our request to hold bags while we explored on our check out day. The most amazing part of this stay was the location! The views were breathtaking and it truly was RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE WATERFRONT, in the beginning side of the heart of Cobh, and a 2 minute or less walk (on flat ground - which was nice in hilly Cobh) to the Titanic Center, a playground area right on the waterfront, restaurants, and all of the action. While it wasn't bad when the windiws were open (such a beautiful sea breeze), once the windows were closed, we heard nothing (and we were there on a public holiday weekend and cruise ship arrival day). It was a rainy and gray stay but the views were still lovely. I don't believe my photos did it justice when reviewing them but the might give you an idea of what you'll see on a beautiful day. We forgot to get a picture outside of the house as it was so rainy the day we arrived and the day we left. Each room (we booked two) had its own full bathroom and the beds were roomier and more comfy than they looked in the photographs. Although I thought I read each room did not have its own lock, that was untrue. Each room has its own lock and key. We had quite a bit of luggage and Mary helped us with every bit of it via her lift (elevator), though we had to carry it up one more flight of stairs after the lift (which is why I give it a 9 instead of 10). But, that was all explained so we knew what was to come before we arrived. While we were greeted warmly and both Mary and Michael were lovely, we were free to come and go as we pleased (which felt a little strange for my daughters and me to be in someone's home and not report to and spend time with them vs being used to staying in hotels or whole house rentals when we vacation without being around other family members.

As I said, the only problem was getting our 18 days' worth of luggage up that last flight of stairs but it was not nearly as daunting as it might have appeared.

Lovely owners Mary and Michael made us feel very welcome and at home. I would totally recommend it to anyone who wants to go to cobh

The 62 steps to the 6th floor was a bit of a trek but the views were completely worth it

What a delightful place to stay, a lovely ensuite room in a superbly renovated waterfront house in central Cobh, with a fantastic view over the working harbour. Mary was a very warm and helpful host.

The room is so comfortable and well kept along with one of the best views in cobh. The location is fabulous and is a short walk to everywhere including the train station. Mary is an exceptional host with superb hospitality.

Oh goodness, Mary and Michael’s home and lodging is utterly gorgeous, art-full, and fascinating. They, as well are so interesting, such lives we learned about through great conversations. The house/building is situated right on the active waterfront, with views and light from the room window better than the photos represent. And close to all Cobh has to offer. From the start, Mary was communicative and helpful with regard to us arriving by bikes and needing somewhere to store them for our stay. A multi-storied Victorian home, expect stairs, but Mary was immediate in offering a lift for our luggage. Her fresh croissants each morning were an unexpected treat. We loved our stay!

This was a beautiful property overlooking the water. Our hosts were wonderful and provided excellent recommendations for the area. You will need to walk several steps, but our view from the fourth floor was lovely. The town of Cobh was beautiful with a rich history.

The location, cleanliness, aesthetic, warmth and comfort of this place.Mary is a lovely host and will make you feel very welcome. We found our stay very comfortable and hope to visit again. It's close to most things you can do at Cobh and the sea view from the widows are a special delight.

This stay was an even greater experience than we could have imagined. Cobh was the perfect town to stay in to visit County Cork and these accommodations were the best place we could have stayed in Cobh. It was lovely to step outside the front door and immediately see the ocean. It’s a very short walk to anything fun (or any sights) in town. Mary is very accommodating and gave excellent travel advice. She was very pleasant and greatly enhanced our Irish travel experience.

Such a convenient location right in the center of the waterfront. The owner was so friendly and gave us some good tips on where to go. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and a lovely bathroom to boot!

The place was fabulous, we were greeted with a very warm welcome, cosy and clean and a perfect location for exploring Cobh. The warm crossants in the morning were very welcome. A lovely treat. Meravigliosa camera calda e accogliente con spettacolare vista mare, letto comodo e confortevole, bagno funzionale. L'ambiente è curatissimo, in un bellissimo palazzo, i proprietari affabili e accoglienti, avevamo a disposizione caffè, the e tisane. Al mattino ci hanno coccolati facendoci trovare i croissant fuori dalla nostra porta.

I think the temperature in the room was quite hard to control.And because now it gets bright early the top window we couldn't block so it got bright fairly early. Otherwise it was amazing!

Perfect location right in the middle of town with an amazing view of the bays. The house is gorgeous and very well-kept. The owner is thoughtful and ensured I had a comfortable stay.

Room with a view right on the harbor! Room is so quaint and comfortable we stayed longer! Best B&B we’ve been in. Mary could not have been nicer! We will be back!
