Tam's Homestay

Wir hatten eine großartige Zeit im Tam's Homestay. Der Gastgeber Tam ist extrem hilfsbereit und kümmert sich hervorragend um seine Gäste. Er hat für uns absolut reibungslos einen Ausflug sowie einen privaten Fahrer organisiert. Die Unterkünfte erinnern an kleine Bungalows und verfügen über alles, was man für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt benötigt. Besonders gefallen hat uns die familiäre Atmosphäre – man fühlt sich direkt ins lokale Leben integriert. Das Frühstück, insbesondere die Bananenpfannkuchen, war fantastisch. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Nous avons été ravis par la qualité des services proposés, où chaque détail semble pensé pour le bien-être des invités. L’accueil chaleureux et généreux de notre hôte a immédiatement créé une atmosphère conviviale. L’accompagnement global a été exemplaire : notre hôte s’est montré disponible à tout moment, toujours à l’écoute et de bon conseil. Ses propositions d’excursions, , nous ont permis de découvrir des pépites locales . La situation du bien est idéale , en harmonie avec la nature. Enfin, mention spéciale pour les repas et petits déjeuners ! Des produits frais, locaux et savoureux, préparés avec soin, qui ont ravi nos papilles chaque matin. Un vrai régal pour commencer la journée du bon pied. Pour terminer, c'est une adresse que nous recommandons les yeux fermés, pour son accueil humain, son cadre enchanteur et son sens du détail. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter ! Merci pour Tout.

Siamo arrivati in struttura alle 4:30 del mattino dopo 8 ore di viaggio con bus notturno. Tam ci ha accolti nella sua home stay, ci ha fatto fare il check-in anticipato (gratuitamente) che ci ha permesso di riposare ancora un po prima delle escursioni. Tramite lui abbiamo organizzato una giornata di tour nelle grotte e il bus per Hué. Il pagamento di tutto prima di partire. Camera grande, essenziale, pulita. L’homestey è a 700 m dal centro dove ci sono i locali per mangiare. Consigliato! Colazione con frutta fresca e poi da scegliere tra alcune opzioni la sera prima.

De schoonste kamer en badkamer die we van de 7 accommodaties hebben gezien, heerlijk om aan te komen in zo’n verblijf. Ook is de eigenaar Tam de meest hartelijke eigenaar die we hebben ontmoet, hij wil je graag ondersteunen om je een fijne vakantie te laten beleven, niks wordt aangepraat of opgelegd zoals we bij vele andere accommodaties beleefde, de bus naar Hue en kayak tour in de grot die geregeld werden waren de beste prijs die we zelf ook konden vinden. Scooter werd op aanvraag geregeld en stond binnen 5 minuten klaar, je bent super snel bij allemaal mooie grotten, botanische tuinen, lekkere eet en drinkgelegenheden. Je hebt de dag van te voren de keuze tussen iets van 8/9 ontbijt mogelijkheden voor de volgende dag, ruim voldoende keuze en we vonden het beide allemaal lekker. Echt top en ik vond het een hele verademing, echt even vakantie hier. Ik las ergens een review die klaagde over dat de airco uit gaat als je de sleutel uit de houder haalt, dat klopt de stroom gaat er af maar de airco is zo goed dat binnen 10 minuten de kamer koud is met 35 graden, naar mijn idee mega snel. Ze hebben ook een hele lieve hond, ook als je niet van honden houdt heb je hier geen last van.

Niks - ik kijk bij accommodaties altijd naar de laagste beoordelingen, vooral in Vietnam heb ik geleerd dat een hoge score niet perse betekent dat het goed/fijn is maar deze accommodatie verdiend ook echt een hele hoge score.

Tam is super lief en heeft ons geholpen met het huren van motorbikes met een driver om naar de Paradise Cave te kunnen gaan, dit was super fijn! Ook waren zijn bananenpannenkoeken voor ontbijt mega lekker.

Der Besitzer Tam ist ausgesprochen freundlich, fürsorglich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Er gibt auf Anfrage viele gute Empfehlungen und Tipps und unterstützt auch bei der Organisation von Touren. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und angenehm groß. Die Lage ist etwas abseits vom Trubel, was für mich aber genau richtig war und perfekt zur entspannten Atmosphäre passt. Das gesamte Homestay wirkt sehr stimmig und authentisch. Das Frühstück wählt man jeweils am Vortag aus verschiedenen Optionen aus und es wird morgens frisch auf Anfrage zubereitet — einfach, aber lecker. Fahrräder können kostenlos genutzt werden und auch Scooter organisiert Tam unkompliziert und zu einem günstigen Preis. Rundum ein tolles Homestay, in das ich jederzeit wiederkommen würde.

Tam is one of the best parts of the property. He is so kind and willing to help in any way. He helped coordinate our tours and transportation between cities. The breakfast was amazing. Room was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Notre hôte a été de très bon conseil, que ce soit pour la réservation de la visite des grottes ou pour les évements à ne pas manquer. Il a également organisé notre départ avec beaucoup d'attention. Le petit déjeuner est parfait.Je recommande.

Extremely clean, comfortable room with great amenities. Everything was well-thought out. I arrived 4 am of my check in day and messaged to see whether an early check in was possible. I was in a room by 6:30 am. The location is just around the corner from town center, very convenient. I spent my rest day there and felt much rejuvenated afterward.

Tam is so friendly and very helpful. He offered suggestions of what to do and sorted a taxi for us to visit paradise cave as well as our onward travel. We were also able to borrow bicycles for no extra cost. The breakfast was good and filling. 100% recommend!

Tam byl velice ochotný a přátelský, pokoje hezké a čisté, líbilo se nám tam.

Tam and his family were very welcoming and lovely. My girlfriend and I haven't felt out best and are fighting off a cold and when we interrupted their evening they were more than happy to make us a ginger and lemon tea. Their hospitality even extended to Lucky the dog who is very sweet and friendly. We had banana pancakes for breakfast which were tasty and more substantial than regular pancakes we've had. Very comfy bed. Also two lighting options - white or orange.

We thought we got locked in the bathroom twice. We were in room 1 and myself and girlfriend both got trapped in there for a bit. We eventually managed to open the door but still aren't quite sure how. The shower water was close to cold after a bit of use but was still good enough. The air con wasn't the best but it did the job. It's on the quieter side of the strip, there are less restaurants and things like that - though this might suit some people.

Excellent value for money, and most importantly: Tam is there to help with anything you ask—and even more. He earns your trust and proves it.

A few minor issues that don’t take away from the positives (for example, the mattresses are a bit on the firmer side). After all, as we said: excellent value for money.

Tam was very kind and helpful in organising a taxi from Dong Hoi train station and my bus to Hue, cave tours and motorbike rental. Tam also let me check in when I arrived very early in the morning. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was great and for dinner there’s many options nearby. Overall, a very pleasant stay during my time in Phong Nha. I recommend Tam’s Homestay!

Very good location, just outside of the busy part of Phong Nha. You can book various tours with the host, who is very helpful and welcoming.

Tam is echt mega mega lief en super gastvrij! Er zijn maar 2 verblijven bij zijn huis en daardoor voelt het heel knus. Er is een lange tafel waar je kan ontbijten in de ochtend (die Tam super lekker maakt!), maar ook lekker kan zitten en hier voel je je echt onderdeel van de familie! De verblijven zijn ook erg ruim en de locatie vonden wij ook top! Zeker aan te raden!!!

Tam's Homestay was the best! The room was large, comfortable, and clean. AC, wifi, and hot water worked well. The location is great, an easy walk to restaurants and shops or you can use the free bikes provided. Most of all, Tam and his family are incredibly kind and helpful! Not only do they make you a delicious breakfast, but also act as booking agents for you with tours, buses, etc., and providing great information about activities in the area. I really appreciate everything they did for me and would stay again in a heartbeat!!

Tam, the owner of this homestay is very kind, really helpful and keen to share his experiences with Jungle Trekking. You can rent bicycles for free and I could even use the bathroom and organize my stuff after I came back from a wonderful trekking experience. He makes the best banana pancake I have had so far.

We stayed at the homestay for 2 nights. Tam, the owner, is really nice and always ready to help. He helped us with a scooter, tickets for the bus and he even walked with us to the bus station. The rooms are simple, but have everything what you need. It's clean. The bathroom have the shower, toilet and sink in one, so everything got a little bit wet. But it's normal here in Vietnam ;) I will totally recommend this place and especially the price- quality, we would definitely come back here if we visiting Phong Nha again

Tam was a lovely host. He spoke quite good English and was very helpful. He arranged a moped for 130k per day, and had it replaced when it was considered less than roadworthy. He replaced the pancake made of rice flour, without questioning. The room was spotlessly clean and well presented.  Overall I would recommend Tam's, particularly if you will hire a bike.

I didn't rate the location, over a mile from town and the street noise was occasionally too much.

For us, this was a wonderful place to stay. Everything was part of a beautiful experience – the warm hospitality, the family atmosphere, and the cleanliness. The omelet at breakfast was absolutely delicious! The activities we arranged with the help of our host were excellent quality and at much better prices compared to what you find on platforms like Klook or GetYourGuide. We initially booked 2 nights, but we extended our stay for 3 more because we felt so good here. We slept very well every night. Even though our room was at the front facing the road, the place has a very good, peaceful energy. We will definitely come back.

Very nice place in quiet area. Selfmade breakfast with little menu to choose a dish. Room was very tidy and clean. Tam cares a lot about the house, as well as for the guests. Towncenter (market) walkable in about 12 min .

Tam was an incredible host, he offered to pick us up early in the morning. He arranged a tour for us, he has bicycles to rent at very reasonable prices. His home is lovely and Tam and his family are lovely people. Their dog Lucky is an absolute star too. Tam let us use the shower after we checked out as well as store our bags. The location is great, a short walk from the main strip and with trips such as Duck Stop, Paradise Cave and Phong Nha cave close by. Tam was the kindest host, with great breakfasts, overall it was one of our favourite stays.

The host was super kind, he helped us organize our trip to paradise cave and the bus to Tam Coc. He also tried his best to calm us down as a typhoon was approaching closely behind us. The room was new and clean!

Nous avons dormi dans la chambre qui donne sur le jardin. Elle est très confortable et très propre. La chambre la mieux équipée que nous ayons eu au Vietnam, pour ce prix. L’emplacement, bien qu’un peu excentré, est agréable car calme et entouré de petits commerces (petits stands nocturnes, restaurants…). L’hôte est très gentil et serviable ! Nous recommandons vivement

Жилье находится не много вдалеке от главной дороги, окна выходят на горы,поэтому шума машин не слышно совсем. Всё работает исправно: кондиционер, горячая вода. Постельное белье чистое, насекомых нет, что очень и очень важно. Комната соответствует описанию. Завтрак хороший. Ванная большая и чистая. Рекомендую здесь остановиться.

Отличный гостевой дом за разумную цену. Все рядом - до пристани можно дойти за 15-20 минут, рядом несколько неплохих кафе, до автобусной станции - 10-15 минут пешком. Там очень дружелюбный и готов помочь, он и его жена забрали нас от автобусной станции, помогли с трансферами до Ботанического сада и утиной фермы. Сразу по приезде Там рассказал нам про все возможные экскурсии и показал все на карте. Сам номер уютный, есть шампунь, мыло, зубные щетки, паста, фен, чайник. На завтрак можно выбрать блюдо из яиц, лапшу или банановый блинчик плюс кофе и какой-то фрукт.

Mr Tam is a great host

Tam's homestay is a must for a couple, solo traveller or someone who doesn't want to stay in a hostel. The mini bungalow rooms are really nice, clean. The air con takes a while to do its magic, but Phong Nha is usually hot, so it's to be expected. Breakfast is included and you have six options. We usually opted for eggs or banana pancakes. Both delicious and a good way to start the day. Tam and his family are so so friendly, including his lovely dog. It's peaceful and despite being out of the centre slightly, you can get pedal bikes, a motorbike e.g. all for a good price. Whilst here, we cycled to the duck stop one day and relaxed as it was tiring. Then the next we used a motorbike to visit all the caves In the area. Tam is very knowledgeable, so be sure to ask him questions. Water and canned drinks are available for a cheaper than shop price cold or room temperature. The price of the stay is great and it was better than expected. Thank you again, Tam, from Sam and Megan. We'll be sure to visit in the future.

Everything was perfect

It was really good! I came a day early because of the bus came in the middle of the night and it was no problem. All tours and buses were booked through the Homestay and it was sooo easy. Great place to stay, and the hospitality of the family was the best I’ve seen so far. Thanks a lot! It was great!

Tam’s Homestay was perfect – great location, beautiful room, and super friendly hosts. We could check in early, rent a scooter easily, and Tam helped us organize our bus. Best of all, we truly felt like part of the family. Highly recommended!

Absolutely incredible stay. The room was very nice and clean. The room had AC. The bathroom was spacious and shower had hot water even tho I didn’t need it bc it was so hot. Tam took care of everything for me when I got there. He came to pick me up from the bus drop off when I got to phong nha, let me borrow his bike for free to go to the duck stop, booked my elephant cave trekking tour with jungle boss for a great price (highly recommend!! It was such an adventure), he did my laundry for a small fee, and he booked my bus to Sapa on a very comfortable bus. I couldn’t thank him enough. His breakfast was really tasty too. I just wish I stayed longer.

Everything, wonderful clean rooms, good AC and excellent breakfast. Hospitality provided by Tam and his family was the best and very welcoming. I would recommend this homestay to anyone, extremely good value for money.

It was the best place I could have stayed in phong nha, i was recovering from an injury and tam was a very caring host, the room was spacious and very comfortable + well equipped, the breakfast was very tasty, and it lived far past the expectations of the price point!! Also the dog adds an 11th star if that’s possible

Tam and his family were very welcoming and helpful. Everything they organised worked out well. The property is a little further from the main tourist area but has good local cafes nearby.

Tam has great knowledge of the area with a lovely home. He will help you to no end and has great knowledge of the local area and many connections, he even chased down a bus for us when it was early! Lovely, clean home with free filtered water and a lovely dog Lucky!

Bed was a bit firm on one side but hard to tell if this affected sleep as I was ill.

Tam was a great host super helpful and kind. He picked us up from the bus station and sorted bookings for our onward travel for us, plus bike rental and laundry. He was very friendly and gave us lots of info about things to do around Phong Nha ! Breakfast was amazing and he even made this for us before our 6:30 am bus on our last day. The perfect stay for a trip here!

My favorite part about my stay was how gracious and kind Tam and his family are. Tam was so accommodating and his hospitality is by far the best I’ve had in Vietnam. He helped me book a tour and an onward bus. He has such a big heart and made me feel at home. The room was very big and extremely clean. The bathroom is modern. Wifi was super fast. All for incredibly reasonable price. I wouldn’t hesitate to book!

It is perfectly located at the right spot. Very silent and far from traffic yet to the main/happening restaurant street. The host is very kind and helpful with suggestions. The rooms were very clean and a good breakfast to start your day with.
